Lovely bungalow in a great location. The owners live close by and are very helpful and friendly. Lovely stay and would return.
We had a wonderful holiday and rest recharged our batteries we are coming back in October and can’t wait
We had a wonderful holiday at Close Taggart cottages. John and Shirley were very welcoming, and were most helpful in helping us to plan a variety of walks. The cottage was charming - warm, cosy, and just right for a peaceful holiday. There were lots of little touches which made it special, and we enjoyed strolling round the lovely gardens in the evenings. Thoroughly recommended.
Very high quality accommodation in a peaceful, tranquil setting with generous, friendly hosts who can’t do enough for you.
Our family of five stayed here for a week and really enjoyed this well located, quality accommodation in the heart of the countryside. Great beaches nearby which we enjoyed during the fabulous weather we had. The gym and spa proved popular with all the family. Would definitely recommend. Thankyou to David for showing us around and John at Island Escapes for their professional service.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lovely accommodation would definitely return ,the hosts were friendly and not intrusive ,everything you needed was there my home from home
Close Taggart cottages are rightly renowned as a wonderful place to stay on the Isle of Man. John and Shirley, who own the cottages (and live next door) have put considerable effort into ensuring everything is perfect. The cottage has a comfortable bedroom, a separate study (with books and binoculars), a lounge, and kitchen. The kitchen is fully-fitted, with a helpful list of facilities and utensils that meet the Manx standard for self-catering accommodation. The welcome pack included bread, eggs, cheese, butter, jam, chocolates, as well as tea and coffee and Manxie the cat (who gets to leave ...more
I’ve recently spent an amazing few days at the lovely Keys Cottage in Castletown with family and had a great time. The cottage is homely, extremely clean and provides everything you could possibly need. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Castletown it is a great location with bus routes, train station, shops, pubs, cafes/restaurants and attractions on your doorstep.
What a wonderful place to stay hopefully will be back everything was so well run and friendly with no exception.
The property and location are charming. Secluded away from the hustle and bustle of the road and town. Fabulous views of the countryside. The Tower is very small although quaint and has everything you need..cozy lounge, equipped kitchenette, great walk-in shower and a very comfortable bed with pretty fairy lights giving it the charm and magical feel. The hot tub is a great facility.. easy to fill and heat.. plenty of wood to burn which is an added bonus.. would definitely recommend.
Only disadvantage with this property - there is very little outside space. Inside is very well equipped with plenty of space in all rooms and excellent bathrooms.
Enjoyed our stay.Very well equipped, even down to jig saws games books.I forgot my walking stick, and Jane very kindly found one. I would certainly stay there again.
After such a long period of restrictions here in the north of England and being prohibited from visiting our daughter, her husband and our grandchildren for 16 months we needed this holiday to be fabulous and it was. The property and the location are beautiful. Our party comprised 4 adults and 2 under 5's and our only slight negative was that as the kitchen and living room were upstairs, we could have done with a safety gate at the top of the wooden staircase. That aside we could hardly fault the place.
A stunning new build with top quality fittings and equipment, overlooking the beach. From your bed at night you can hear the waves lapping the beach, and bird watch from bed! Well positioned for days out and even a bus stop outside the front door, if you don’t fancy driving. It is by an A road, but that didn’t bother us and the view of the bay more than made up for it. If you want a beautiful house with a view to match, this the place.
The house was easy to find from the ferry terminal, and what a surprise when you enter the house, it smelt lovely, and was so clean. The interior finish was very high spec, the bedding, towels etc and the appliances were top of the range. The sunrise in the morning and the sea views were really relaxing. Please Island Escapes do so properties abroad.
Ballarhennie is a fantastic place for an escape in a beautiful location - hill views on one side and the sea on the other. There’s plenty of space for 6 people and the table tennis and pool tables are great for filling in the rainy days. It’s a 5 minute walk to the beach and the sunsets are amazing. Keep an eye out for the bats at sunset. Would highly recommend it, but don’t tell too many people as we’d love to come back soon.
Exchange house was beautifully decorated, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and was really well equipped - the perfect break away from home.
We stayed here as a family of 5. Two adults and three children. It is a short walk away from the shops and the beach with an excellent children’s play park nearby. The bungalow was very clean and tidy and had everything you would need for your stay. There are plenty of children’s games and books to read and dvds for a rainy day. Great for parking and a lovely garden too!
We had a lovely staycation and look forward to doing it again soon. Place was clean and well kept and great location. Must say that for anyone with mobility issues the stairs are quite steep. Loved it.
The apartment was excellent in every way. Perfect size for two people and very well equipped, including the literature regarding places to eat and walking.
Had an absolutely wonderful time. The Stables was the right size for us and had a generous amount of bathrooms which always makes group stays much easier. Loved the eggs from the farm's own hens and the delicious welcome flapjack and will definitely visit again!
What a gorgeous place. A very high end finish. Obviously the highlight being the balcony but every room is thoughtfully furnished to a high spec and spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable after busy days sightseeing and a few provisions left in the kitchen for our arrival were very welcome. Wish we’d had longer to appreciate all the facilities. Easy booking and entry to the property. The car sat nav took us the wrong way with the post code for 15mins though google maps on my phone sorted us out. A great stay
The Rowans is a nice comfortable cottage that is full of character, with everything you could possibly need for your get-away. We would happily stay there again. There was only 2 of us but the cottage has 2 downstairs bed rooms and 2 upstairs 'loft' bedrooms all very nicely decorated. The cottage is ideally situated across the road from the Mitre Pub and on the TT course.
Lovely farmhouse in a rural setting with lovely views.Ideal for families as entry if rooms.Super clean with all you need for your stay.Elaine the owner on site+available should you need anything.Jack the farm cat is gorgeous(but not Manx!).Lovely touch leaving a few bits to get you started(local produce;bread/milk etc).Only thing id like to have seen was some easy chairs(although there is a bench)to sit+enjoy the sun/views as we were blessed with good weather.Would return.
Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Very clean accommodation and a cosy atmosphere. The only thing that let it down slightly was the extremely poor WiFi speed. We were unable to watch Netflix as the films would keep buffering and we got a notification that we'd reached the cap of the Internet for the month which wasn't great. Overall our experience was a lovely one.
A nice little cottage in a very good location. The host was very nice and took care of our needs. Overall, good value for money and a very pleasant stay.
The location is brilliant, just off the beach in Old Laxey with ice cream, snacks at "The Shed" , a very friendly pub and an Italian restaurant within 2 minutes walk. Mariners house is perfect, every facility you could need, everything in perfect condition, you couldn't ask for more.
Beautiful clean cottage in an idyllic location. The cottage has everything you need and more for a great holiday. Small food parcel on arrival was much appreciated.
A stunning location and a house for all seasons. Well equipped, very comfortable and cosy. Highly recommended
Lovely accommodation in a peaceful, rural setting with lovely views. Great place to switch off and unwind.
We had a wonderful stay, and the property was indeed 5 star rating. We missed a view, as we have previously stayed on the front, and it was not a short enough walk to the beach, as the position of the house on google maps appears closer, but is boxed in. We probably would not stay again, due to the cost of the week. It was difficult to locate the serving dishes in the kitchen cupboard as they were in a "hidden" cupboard. The sliding door between living areas failed to work, and the downstairs wardrobe door fell off. Thank you for the stay, All facilities were good, but the downstairs wet ...more
Great Central location to explore Castletown, close to shops and restaurants. Also great to have an allocated parking space. House is spacious and has good facilities; we stayed as a group of 6 (4 adults and 2 children) and the layout/bedroom arrangement worked perfectly for us. On the whole the house was very tidy and clean however there was areas of significant dust under the beds.
We live in Douglas and had a 3-night "staycation" in the apartment at Close Vark Farmhouse in Andreas (22 miles away) in September 2021. The apartment was very large; modern; clean; well decorated; light and had all that we needed for the stay. It also has a large balcony with good views and the area is very peaceful. We had meals at The Grosvenor (the local pub, about 1.5 miles away) and Vellika's (the Indian restaurant in Ramsey, about 5 miles away) - both were excellent. We visited the Wildlife Park and the IOM Motor Museum - both were interesting and enjoyable. We also visited Jurby ...more
Lovely apartment in a fantastic location. Not too far from all amenities and very quiet area. Some household items could have been provided, i.e vacuum cleaner or dustpan to go with the brush. No cleaning products provided so unable to clean sinks, toilets etc after use. Basics such as salt and pepper would have been appreciated, also washing pods just to get started but overall a really lovely flat and would definitely stay again.
The property is in a good location, within a couple of minutes walk from the beach. There were several items left on our arrival such as milk and coffee which were very handy. A lovely stay in all.
Fiona & John are excellent hosts on this busy working farm. The Byre is a comfortable and cosy property with fantastic views in a quiet location. Ideal for restful breaks and active holidays alike with great walks on the doorstep. Highly recommend a visit in any of the Knockaloe Beg accommodations.
The Milking Parlour is a lovely place to stay in beautiful surroundings. It is such a peaceful place to get away from it all with amazing views! The parlour was very well equipped with everything our family needed and some lovely little touches which made the stay even more special. The barn with all the toys and games was a massive hit with our children and they also spent lots of time racing their bikes in the garden! Thanks for a fab stay. We would highly recommend the Milking Parlour and would love to return sometime soon.
An unusual property with it's colonial style balcony and rooftop room with 360 degree views, many hours spent up there with a good book and glass of wine enjoying the views of Port Erin beach, promenade and the majestic Bradda Head. There is a very well fitted out kitchen, pleasant dining room with patio doors on to the balcony, two decent sized bedrooms and a good sized shower room. The seating in the lounge however is in need of an upgrade, the sofa is uncomfortable and the chairs not much better. The back of the house is a sun trap and very secluded, this is accessed from the kitchen by a d...more
Great little cottage with a nice conservatory. Beautiful lounge. The washer/dryer was useful as well!
We had a lovely summer staycation at The Whitehouse. The weather wasn’t great but that didn’t stop us getting out on the beaches and surrounding area. The house is in a great location with views of fields, hills and sea from different windows around the house. The house was well furnished with a lovely lawned garden, great for kids! Would highly recommend staying at The Whitehouse.
Beautiful place to stay. Wonderful views and everything you need for your stay here. I would suggest perhaps a couple of plugs that have USB ports.
We stayed at Maggies Cottage for 21 days from 3rd July to 24th July 2021. It was really very quaint situated in an elevated position with views of Greeba and the Breary hills when looking North. Fliss and her husband Phil the owners were very welcoming and always on hand to help us out. The old steam railway track is a 3 minute walk from the cottage which will take you east towards Douglas or West to Peel likewise if you go up to the main road you have a bus stop which takes you to the capital or to Peel and Ramsey in the North of the Island. Our stay was very enjoyable and we were very lu...more
Comfortable accommodation & very good value for money. Well located for all the amenities in Douglas and within walking distance of the majority of the local tourist attractions.
A lovely place to completely relax with the family and our dog was welcomed too. No worries about having a baby or a dog completely safe for the dog to wander around the garden. He loved it too.
Lovely cottage between Kirk Michael and Ballaugh with 1.5 mile walk up disused railway line to each (with pub and food). Short walk to beautiful beach. Bus stop at end of road (500m). Grounds very shaded with trees but can sit in sun as grounds extend front, back and side. Well equipped kitchen and essentials provided on arrival (bread, milk, butter, cheese, tea, coffee, loo role) but will need more if staying a while. Lovely but quite expensive if just used as a base for doing other stuff.
We arrived in the evening and found the apartment without much problem. The apartment itself is comfortable and clean but the entrance hall does smell musty and is the first thing that you smell. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was adequately equipped. It is a little old fashioned in decor and furniture but it was fine as we spend most of the time out and about anyway. One suggestion would be to add a carton of milk to the tea and coffee welcome pack.
My son and I stayed at West View following a hospital appointment in the UK and had to self-isolate on return to IOM. It was a beautiful, peaceful place to stay. It was comfortable and well equipped. We arrived in the evening and it took me a while to locate the instruction folder, which contained the wifi password. The wifi did cut out a couple of times, but was mostly reliable. I found instructions for the washer-drier, but none for the oven , the dishwasher, or the heating. I did find that it was cold in the middle of the day and would have liked to boost the heating at times. Overall we ...more
Tiny cottage, good location, parking difficult. The garden could do with a bit of weeding & tidying up.
A great holiday home close to an excellent beach and walking distance to the shops and steam train. Ample kitchen facilities including a washer and drier. Could just do with some garden furniture to enable the family to relax in the garden together.
Excellent location in Laxey with great views across the bay. Unfortunately, the cottage itself is rather poor quality with many aspects clearly done on the cheap side. Including the conservatory that was cold in August!!!!!! This is a shame given the location, views and good communications from Island Escapes.
This house was spotlessly clean and had plenty of room for everyone to sit comfortably, the kitchen was well equipped with lots of crockery and cutlery but only one tea towel, The bedrooms were comfortable, and had enough pillows and bedding, lovely soft towels were a nice touch to the immaculate bathrooms, the only downside was that this house was advertised as a four bedroomed house for up to eight people but the fourth bedroom was tiny with only a sofa bed and nothing else, this was way too small for two people to sleep on, it just fitted a child comfortably as the mattress was very thin, a...more
You could not ask for a more wonderful view from a holiday flat in Peel. The gift pack of a few essentials and treats was most welcome. The main problem with the flat is damp. There were a few dehumidifier products placed around the flat, but to little effect. When the electric kettle stopped working Island Escapes replaced it quickly, very good service. The kitchen could be better equipped, only one wine glass for example.
Lovely little cottage in a very good location close to Douglas Promenade. Only downside is parking, property has a dedicated parking space but every evening another vehicle was parked in it meaning we had to park some distance from the property.
