My husband and myself with our dogs stayed here for a 4 night staycation while we were having work done in our house. Access via key safe, very straightforward Lovely welcome pack of bread, butter, biscuits, milk etc The cottage has been renovated to a high standard and has all you need for a relaxing stay, lovely comfy beds and the best shower I’ve ever used! The open plan living, dining and kitchen areas are very comfortable and tastefully furnished with a fully fitted kitchen area. The garden has decking and a seating area & has been gravelled with lots of lovely plants and shrubs,...more
A lovely cottage, well equipped, great location. You really don’t need to use your car if you don’t want to. You feel away from everywhere, but actually you can be in Port St Mary or Port Erin in 20/30 minutes walk.
The description does not do the cottage justice, immaculate inside, attentive hosts who more than go the extra mile, gardens you can walk, and sit in,and total silence all together marvellous.
Superb location, only a couple of minutes walk to the beach and walking distance to Ramsey town centre. Accomodation was very comfortable, clean and felt like a home away from home.
We spent a lovely week at Imperial House which was a great base from which to explore the island. Everything that we required for a comfortable stay was provided and the hosts were very welcoming.
Wonderful four night stay in The Pines in Port Erin, the cottage was beautiful with everything you could possibly need, clean and so comfortable, the owners Gaye and John were so welcoming and were there if you needed them, they even went over and above for our comfort and stay. If you want a comfortable, clean and well equipped place to stay in the IOM then The Pines is a must. The cottage is beautifully situated among pines trees with wonderful views beyond. There is quite a walk up hill to the cottage, but we had a car so no problem and it is so worth it when you arrive there! Just as the t...more
Such a lovely, comfortable cottage with everything we needed. A beautiful setting right by the sea with fantastic views. Walks, tram etc. close by. A really enjoyable stay, so peaceful and relaxing.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The properties were conveniently sited, we had everything we needed and plenty of room for the six of us. The enormous living room wa great, and everything was very comfortable.
Wonderful location quite and peaceful. Accommodation excellent spotless / everything modern and everything provided. I would recommend a car .
A beautiful house in the gorgeous countryside, completely modernised, with a generous garden and far fetching sea view. Loved spending time by the fire pit watching the farm animals in the distance and listening to the stream gently trickling by. All the instructions are super easy to follow, plenty leaflets about local attractions, had a absolutely wonderful stay. Definitely would love to return in the future.
Het was een hele mooie locatie, mooie grote tuin, waar je gebruik van mocht maken. Alles wat je nodig had was aanwezig. Bij aankomst stonden en al een paar leuke verrassingen klaar. Kortom heerlijk verblijf gehad.
Lovely place comfortable and clean. Would stay again and would recommend. The only thing that let it down was the quality of the toilet paper.
We really loved the cottage. It was comfortable and clean with plenty of kitchen bits and pieces. If you are thinking of booking, you won't be disappointed! The Isle of Man is a great holiday destination with plenty to do and visit.
Ideal accommodation for our extended family, All our needs were provided for, including food and drink in the fridge. The view of the bay was stunning and the children enjoyed watching the boats. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property for a holiday on the Isle of Man.
Super comfortable house in an excellent location with great views of the harbour. The living room was spacious, light, airy and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. All bedrooms were of a good size although some of the furniture was a bit large (especially our bed which was massive but sooo comfortable!) and the downstairs twin room would benefit from some storage/drawers and hanging rail/hooks. We had a brilliant time and would highly recommend this property. We would definitely like to revisit.
We had a most enjoyable and excellent stay in a delightful house with amazing views. Jackie and Graham were so friendly and ensured we had everything we needed
We really enjoyed our stay at Packet House. The unit was lovely with 2 bedrooms each with an extremely nice modern bathroom, plus an extra small bathroom on the ground floor. Kitchen and living area on the top floor was spacious and had great views of the Irish Sea and coastline. Will definitely be back!
The house is spacious, clean and fairly well equiped. I was surprised to find no containers suitable for use in the mocrowave, which prompted me to buy a pyrex from a charity shop! Can we please have a mirror, on a concertina perhaps, nearer to the sink in the bathroom for shaving? Having said all that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay as the house is perfectly placed to enjoy Peel. There is plenty to see and do in the town and good places to eat. I recommend the House of Mannanan Museum but leave yourself around 3 hours to do it justice. Take your National Trust or English Heritage cards as th...more
Very high-quality large property with large garden and patio in a good location. There is a shop, pub and bus stop 5 minute walk from the house. The beach and local town is a 10 minute bus or car journey, which makes it easy to plan days and evenings by the beach! Perfect for families. The property is lovely inside with new bathrooms, very comfy beds and big receptions rooms with lots of places to sit and eat as a group. The house was clearly a family home and there are still lots of memories and precious items in the house, and there are lots of memories to still be made! Overall, great pro...more
We stayed with our son, his wife and our 2 x small grandchildren. We all had a great time exploring the huge house, sunning ourselves in the garden and by the pond. Learning to play the piano, playing table tennis and snooker in the evenings. It may be tucked away but we were never short of things to do. We walked to the beach several times, so easy and near. Watched the sunsets too. Couldn't fault this hidden Gem.
Lovely secluded cottage. Excellent connections on the tram and bus with all the facilities you could need.
We booked all 3 accommodations as we were staying with relatives. It was great to be able to open up the interconnecting doors so that we could use it as one house when needed and close them off when we didn’t. The accommodation was spotless and well equipped. The added bonus of the gym was also great. Would definitely stay again!
Lovely location with parking. House very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Lovely outdoor space. Some minor niggles more pillows in each bedroom, supply dishwasher salt & rinse aid, door stops for every room please,
Kilravock is a wonderful place to stay. It is very well equipped and thoughtfully designed to ensure a luxurious and comfortable stay. The location is idyllic, with the added bonus for us of seeing harbour porpoises swimming in the bay on a couple of occasions. A relaxing and memorable holiday was enjoyed by all!
Amazing property with generous space to relax and share time with friends. We recommend the the Andreas Italian restaurant in the village and the Fish and chips shop in Port Erin.
Fantastic property in excellent location. Spotlessly clean (not easy with a property this size!). Very well furnished with everything we needed. Contacted by Island Escapes a few days before arriving which was a bonus as I was worried about the keypad entry system (enter code, wait for bleep, green light, pull door slightly, push hard). Lady who phoned was so lovely and helpful. We parked outside on street no problem at all. Lovely to sit on rooftop on night and just relax and enjoy the view. Accommodation was perfect for us as we travelled with my mum and she was able to have privacy with bed...more
We had the best time staying at The Stable at Glendown Farm. The children had a blast talking to the sheep and the location could not be better. 2 minutes from Port St Mary, 2 minutes to Port Erin and 10 minutes from The Sound (which is a must visit).
Good location to explore the island. Wonderful farmhouse with great outdoor space to sit and eat and admire the views towards the sea. The host was extremely friendly.. Highly recommend the property for a family holiday.
Elgin is an absolutely beautifully appointed property set amongst lovely gardens, giving a sense of peace & tranquility. The owners are really lovely & will do everything to make your stay comfortable & enjoyable whilst respecting your privacy. We arrived to homemade scones which were fabulous, tea, coffee etc. was also provided as well as bread, milk cheese and ham. The bed is super comfortable & we slept like babies! An electric tram stop is a 3 minute walk away & trams ran twice hourly. It was great fun taking a trip into Ramsey for lunch & a spot of shopping before returning back to the lu...more
Lovely place to stay on the inside of the course. Very clean, warm and well equipped with ample parking.
Had a brilliant stay, the location for us was perfect as we spend a lot of time at Peel. The views were outstanding, the cows fascinating to watch. Light airy open plan. For our family everything we needed was provided. So much so we've already booked & paid deposit for next year
Excellent property and location, to explore this interesting Island and meet the Manx people. So much history, trains and each town has its own personality.
Good location for walks and exploring the Island,,no problems finding the cottage the directions were spot on. The Stables was well equiped and comfortable and we would go back again.
As soon as you walked through the door you felt relaxed. It was stunning and had quality aspects features thorough out. The bedding was wonderful and the bed really comfortable. Will definitely be back !
The house has all been renovated to a very high standard, the kitchen is really well equipped and there’s plenty of space for children to safely run about. It’s only a few minutes from Castletown and Port Erin. We had a lovely three generation family holiday.
We stayed at Quay cottage in Port saint Mary, for one week it was spectacular cottage, beautiful surroundings. Well thought out cottage. We will definitely be back and hopefully at Quay cottage. Only thing I would request at the cottage to have blinds at both doors.
This is a lovely complex in a lovely setting. Very handy for getting around the island. Just a couple of things that would help, there is not enough comfortable seating for six adults, I did querie this before arriving but was told it was fine. They could also use some oven gloves as there is no handle for the grill pan. The rest of the house is done to a very high standard, and the beds are very comfortable.
See written comments left in property. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxddxxxxdxddxxddxxdxxx21212121212121212121212 what a stupid review system.
We stayed at Dandy Rigg Cottage with our two young children and had a lovely time. The cottage was clean and well equipped, and what a spot! We loved the huge front garden, and the view to the coast. Beds were comfortable and the shower worked well. I was pleased to see a DVD player (in the absence of streaming services - good for entertainment in the evening or if the weather's poor) and if we stay again I'll pack some films. Having two young children and being on the Island for a week, we made good use of the washing machine and drying line at the back - a godsend! If staying with chil...more
We loved our stay at the cottage. It was very clean and well presented upon arrival, plus comfortable to stay in for the 6 days we were there. They accommodated us with a travel cot but the house itself wasn’t super baby proof (nice furniture) and accessible kitchen cupboards. There’s a couple of things we’d suggest that would have made the stay better. Any sort of radio or speaker would be great, as well as a coffee machine (Nespresso or such). Plus some hooks on the back of doors would be useful to hang towels from as there are few radiators in the cottage. Bar those couple of poi...more
We had a great stay in Ramsey at this property. It was clean, comfortable and well stocked. The few grocery items provided were greatly appreciated, as were the laundry facilities. Easy walk to the beach and town. Right across from the Mooragh Park. Would stay again if visiting Ramsey. Communication with Island Escapes was really great.
Great location, clean and bright condition. Loved the back garden sun trap when the breeze was blowing on the sea front. Excellent facilities, more crockery and cutlery than you could ever need. Comfy beds.
This is the second time we have stayed at Close Vark. The location is quiet with gorgeous views. The property itself is very spacious and in addition includes an outdoor space with table, chairs and great views. Wifi excellent. We sometimes ate in - the kitchen has everything for cooking you need. In addition to the breakfast bar there was the bonus of a separate dining table which could seat four. We also used the recommendation of the Thai cuisine at Sulby nearby which was very good. There is nice ensuite with combined bath and shower. Ramsey is also very near (10 minutes in the...more
From the day we booked the property, we can only recommend island escapes for the perfect getaways. The property was clean and comfy. The perfect weekend away.
Not a house for those seeking the city lights - but perfect for everyone else! It’s spacious, comfortable, well equipped and utterly, utterly quiet. Nearly all the rooms look onto the sea, and beyond to the Mountains of Mourne in Ireland: absolutely beautiful. We experienced no problems with electricity overload, but that may be because there were only five of us. The access road and track posed no problems. Recommended!
Had a lovely week's holiday in the Isle of Man. Loads to do and places to visit. Plenty of walking both on the beaches and in the Glens. Tynwald Day at St John's excellent fun and knowledgeable. Ice cream yummy. Peel beautiful and peaceful. Would fully recommend. Accommodation really comfortable and clean, thanks
The cottage was very spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed. Castletown was a perfect base for accessing all our favourite places in the south of the island, and there are many more places to eat in town than previously. A really great vibe! Allocated parking spot was very welcome. Met 2 members of staff when leaving the property and they were really friendly and helpful too. We will definitely be booking cottages through Island Escapes again, and would happily use Harbour Hideaway whenever we need an extra room.
The accommodation was perfect for our needs, spacious, clean and comfortable for eight adults. The location in the town is ideal for all the amenities, of which there are many, including an excellent chippy, and great hospitality at the Station Hotel. The steam railway station for trips to Douglas is just a 5 minute walk away. Overall we had a great stay with much to do and see around the island and look forward to visiting again.
From the moment we arrived we felt at home with a lovely basket of biscuits with tea coffee. A loaf, butter, cheese and milk. All the rooms were spotless and plenty and ready for our arrival. What a lovely surprise for the grandchildren to see the range of toys for them. All in all a fantastic place and we would definitely go there again.
Lovely cottage and good location. ...........................................................................................................................................................................................................
Waverley is in the perfect spot for going to all points on the island . Convenient for the beach, for trams and for the Snaefell railway. It was everything we needed for our week away and would happily book again if we were to return.
Port Erin is beautiful, quiet but jist ehatwe were after. Steam train is a lovely addition. Barney Moo is lovely, clean, tidy, fresh and comfortable. Huge garden. Only complaint would be to let the use of the garage as we were bikers and rain came down! Loved the place though. Great ride into Douglas, especially over the little mountain roads!
This cottage is situated with several others in a large garden quite close to Douglas town centre. The Sea Termonal is about a 25-30 minutes walk away. There are also quite frequent buses. Despite being fairly central, the cottage is very quiet. It is very spacious with a large double bedroom with an armchair and a view over the garden for stay at home days. The only downside for us was the staircase which has a sharp turn half way up.
Once we worked out how to get to the cottage (road works closing one end of the lane were a surprise) it was fine! Cottage itself was lovely, very compact and attractive. A couple of minor additions like towel rails/hooks in the bathroom & a hairdryer would be useful but overall a great place to stay.
We had a great stay at The White House - great location, comfortable and spacious house to stay in, sunny garden, peaceful, lovely views (including Highland cows and sheep in the field opposite). Really liked the artwork and coasters - nice touch! I'm
Lovely cottage on a farm complex converted from a former pigsty - no trace of former occupants! Delightful and friendly hosts and a perfect location for exploring the lovely island
The position of Baljean is quite special, overlooking Port Erin Bay, which is why we have spent quite a few holidays there over the years. However the recent modern refurbishment has added to the appeal, giving it a real seaside holiday feel. The kitchen and upstairs rooms are very well appointed with good facilities. The decent sized sitting/dining room, with excellent views would probably benefit from a more substantial table and chairs and the TV relocated for more all round relaxed viewing, especially when there are more than 2 guests. We will however certainly continue to use this idea...more
It was a comfortable cottage with a sea view from the upstairs windows. There was space in the kitchen for four people to eat around the table comfortably. There was not a lot of food storage space if you had brought food to last a whole week. There was plenty of hot water. The staircase was very steep. The multi point parking was challenging . It had a lovely front garden for sitting out in. I would go back if I was visiting the IOM again.
Perfect location for making the most of all Port Erin has to offer. Light, airy and beautifully appointed, over spec-ed lighting- beautiful place to stay.
Very nice cottage in quiet location, welcome pack was much appreciated however the cottage needs a total clean from top to bottom.
Port Erin is just delightful! We awoke to sunshine and an amazing view every morning. Golf View apartment was so comfortable and spacious. The only down side was the lack of general kitchen equipment. It needed Pyrex type jugs/bowls to be able to use microwave and also some serving bowls (or anything other than the small cereal bowls provided). Also, it states DVD player and Netflix but neither of these were available. The pots and pans were sparse and not clean. There were no instructions on how to use equipment and coffee machine. Apart from these minor kitchen gripes, it was a great place...more
Great accommodation with a fantastic view over Port Erin. Great access to the cliff walks . Kitchen very well equipped and lovely bedrooms with comfy beds. The only disappointment was the ‘ensuite’ . The under stairs toilet and tiny sink did not meet this criteria. A second shower would have been useful for 4 adults, but we managed! Perhaps this should be more apparent in the website information .
Very comfortable apartment which we would love stay in again. The views across the bay are wonderful with easy access to the town. We really enjoyed our week here and would highly recommend. Just be aware bedroom 2 has a small double bed. Would also highly recommend The Millers Tale in Peel which is very welcoming.
This is a lovely cottage with lots of character. Very clean and beautifully furnished. It is a couple of minutes walk from Peel seafront and a very short walk from a Co-op and Shoprite. There is no denying the stairs are steep as mentioned. I have arthritis in my knees and coped OK. You just need to take your time. This is a property on 3 levels. Lounge/diner and kitchen on ground floor. Bathroom and bedroom with bunks on 1st floor and another box room type room. The Master bedroom is on the top floor. If you're not too spry and need to get up in the night to go to the loo it's a bit of a perf...more
Very comfortable house but although it sleeps 8 there is only seating for 6 at dining table, in the lounge and conservatory. Great access to Douglas and Peel. Would stay again if there was a refuction in price.
this place was so cute, and almost perfect. the only things i would add would be trash bags, laundry detergant, and maybe a couple of more towels. we were provided only 2 towels for a 10 day stay. we were there for the TTs and usually like to watch the races that night on tv, but the tv has hardly any channels. itv4 and other channels simply had no signal. it really is a great place to stay, and would be absolutely perfect with those couple of additions.
Location is excellent. Surfside is clearly a loved and personalised cottage. Major Improvements to flow of space and removal of lots of ornaments would ensure a more relaxing stay. Attention to wires, extension cables, lightbulbs and low hanging ceiling lights are needed. Kitchen is not four star at all
We booked this stay as part of a group who also rented a number of other properties in the area through Island Escapes. The cottage was absolutely perfect. The location is great and it is fully equipped with everything you could need for a week. It is incredibly spacious. Other members of our party couldn't believe how much space we had. Gorgeous views over the fields and the children loved watching the cows.
The property is one of two halves. The extended kitchen and dining room are really modern and very stylish and well equipped. The rest of the house doesn't have the same touch. The lounge feels much less modern and really needs a comfortable three piece suite. The bedrooms are basic but fine and the upstairs room feels like it doesn't really have an identity and is a missed opportunity in terms of creating something unique and stylish which could give the property much more of a wow factor. The extractor fans in the bathroom and single toilet are quite strange. They seem to be motion sens...more
We had a great stay in the property, there was everything we needed here. The views to sea were lovely, it was quiet and peaceful.
Endfield house has lots of character and charm and is a spacious house (we were a party of 6 people). The house was very clean and well equipped. Good location in the south of the Island, right in the bay of Port St Mary and a short drive away from Port Erin. We drive an electric car and were happy that there was a charging point in a car park very close by. This was very convenient!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the Isle of Man.
Very comfortable property - and a lot of space for two people!! Crockery and cutlery are minimal but that maybe reflects the fact that there is no dishwasher. The property is out of the way and up a farm track which might be tricky for some, but it is a very peaceful location.
We enjoyed our stay at Cascadia House. Very comfortable Beds and sofa. Every thing you need for a home base. Locatated in Ramsey near the park and lovely lake. Nice walks staight from home. Peel and Port Erin are beautiful and there is plenty to do. Lady next door very friendly and gave some excellent advise and things to do. House is three floors with main bedroom at the top with en-suite with smaller bedroom on the floor below. Kitchen was well equipped, with everything you could possibly need to self cater. Parking was an issue a couple of times when there was no room to park or ...more
We really enjoyed our stay. The bungalow is in great condition, with comfy furniture, great bathrooms and a well stocked set of kitchen items. It is in a quiet, residential area - not a great choice if you're looking for somewhere to host a noisy party (we weren't). The house is a 5 min walk from the seafront and the shops too. All in all, a great house in a lovely part of the island. If we were going to quibble, the TV needs replacing with something that will run off the WiFi rather than having to rely on the patchy aerial reception and a washing line would have helped, rather than just rely...more
A lovely quiet place to stay. Great views of sea and countryside from all rooms. Apartment was very clean and well equipped.Port Erin is a good place to base yourself to your the Island. A short walk down the hill brings you into the town centre with a good range of shops ( and a great fish & chips restaurant/ take away ) and of course the station for steam trains to Douglas.
Fabulous clean, spacious property. Ideal open-plan family living space. Large, well-equipped kitchen. Great base for exploring the island. Walking distance to shop, pub, bus and steam train! Small outdoor area,(enclosed but not secure enough for our dog!) but there are fields at the back of the property which are ideal for dogs. Also 2 min walk to Colby glen which is beautiful.
I stayed 2 nights in the week at the Tower. I was not aware that it was on a farm! Chickens, ducks, sheep, horses... A wonderful surprise. The Tower is a very charming building and has everything you need. Great shower, very comfortable bed. Small, practical kitchen. Hot tub in the garden. I would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.
Appreciated the fresh produce on arrival as it was rather late at night.Sharing the cottage with friends found the accommodation very practical and homely. Would definitely recommend to friends, and would gladly use it again.
It was the most hot summer week in 2022. I have enjoyed calm stay in the apartment. All instructions given are on the beginning a bit difficult to follow but in the end it's all good. The localization is a big advantage. A lot of places to see, where to eat, also to get a delivery. All was left clean and tidy. Previous vacationers left the dishwasher in a bit unpleasant condition, the pan drawers were chaotic, some of tools had rice stuck on. Happens... I made sure to leave washing machine open due to moisture building up and mold. In the apartment was plenty of space for all stuff. I have fou...more
Great location to visit family and friends. Plenty of local shops, cafes and pubs nearby. Parking is limited but we always found a spot close to the cottage. The cottage itself was compact, comfortable and full of character. Loved the local cat that visited through the bathroom window! Some upkeep to the back garden area is needed to create a more usable outdoor space. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Curlew Cottage, would definitely visit again.
This apartment provides comfortable accommodation and is ideally located in a quiet Square in the centre of Douglas. The front lounge, overlooking the Square's gardens, provides a pleasant place to relax. The kitchen was roomy and well-equipped, although still has no teaspoons! Some points raised by other reviewers have been addressed, in particular we were pleased to find milk, bread and cereals etc on arrival but the wifi still only works intermittently. We found that we could access the internet for only a few minutes in any given hour during our 4 - day visit.
Highly recommend this venue for it's structure, situation, and landscape. Ideal for exploring the north west coastline. Close to Peel, a city of unpretentious marine charm. The owner supplied a well-chosen section of local produce as a Welcome Pack. The Ross sourdough bread was outstanding for Manx standards, and the pack was indeed welcome after a long journey and late arrival.
we arrived at 7pm . i had to double park to unload, then i had to drive around looking for somewhere to park, this is not what i wanted ,the cottage was nice, but don;t book it if you intend driving there, cars nose to tail. the parking problem ruined my short stay on this wonderful island.
This cottage is ideally located next to the tramlines with a fantastic seaview. The kitchen is well equipped and the welcome items such as bread and milk etc were a lovely touch. Unfortunately the cottage is let down by dated, tatty furniture and a strong smell of damp in the bedroom. The cottage would benefit from a change in furniture and the installation of a better and safer shower. Otherwise a fantastic stay.
The good points first :- The view from the lounge was amazing and when we had a problem with the fridge both Island Escapes and the owner reacted promptly and were very helpful. The bad point:- The kitchen was tiny with no real workspace , I found it impossible to make a main meal in it. Clever photography had given a misleading impression of it's size.
The house had enough space for us and everything we needed for our stay. The beds are super comfortable and the linen felt clean and fresh. The garden felt secluded and Fistard is very quiet and peaceful. As with lots of Manx buildings, Pargys is pretty damp, and we had to crank up the central heating on the first night (in July) to chase the cold out. Two of the bedrooms are upstairs but there is a small back bedroom off the living room (built into the hill). Luckily we didn’t need to use it because it absolutely stank of fox. This is a bit strange as there are no foxes on th...more
