A really lovely week. Comfortable roomy cottage, well placed and quiet, despite being so close to the promenade and the pub.
loved it! Will definitely be back. The little touches such as cheese, tea and bread made the whole experience so much easier and enjoyable. Very peaceful with very comfortable beds and really enjoyed out week. Thankyou
Our friends stayed for 7 nights in this newly refurbished cottage. Everything was simply perfect! Beautiful property, done to high standards with a super luxurious feel to it. The location is incredible - close to Laxey village and beach (a visit to The Shed and The Gelato Shed is a must!), yet surrounded by nature, sea views and a wonderful large outdoor space with picnic table. Whoever gets the en-suite master bedroom is in for a real treat with the patio doors leading onto the lawn, stunning! The owners live on the site in a seperate house and are really lovely but they don’t intrude at all...more
I booked this for a colleague visiting the island. Booking process very straight forward, communication excellent. The visitor was very happy with the accommodation, they loved it. Perfect location too.
From the very beginning a lovely friendly welcome and introduction to the house A little difficult to find initially but we all became used to the area The kitchen and dining was amazing and had everything you needed including plastic plates and glasses for outdoor dining plenty of crockery and cutlery for us all ( 6 adults and 2 children) condiments and tea coffee sugar dishwasher tablets washing up liquid cloths for washing and drying and pan scrubbers , high chair and travel cot too The utility and ‘mud room’ fabulous with washer dryer ironing board iron and plenty of coat hooks for c...more
This was our first visit to the Isle of Man and we wanted to get to all the major Manx heritage sites, as well as the many scenic places. Peel is very well located for doing this, being halfway down the west coast. Nowhere was more than a 40 minute drive away and the roads were very quiet. Within Peel, Aer Varrey is really well located for a panoramic view over the castle and beach. We had a glorious sunset every evening. There is a paved walkway down the hillside to reach the town. Some with walking issues may struggle to get back up, especially after a meal, but the meandering path...more
Tucked away in the north of the island this is a lovely place to stay if you want somewhere peaceful whilst (provided you have a car) not far from lots of IoM attractions. Communication in advance of our stay was excellent, as was the warm welcome from Shirley and John, who were discreet hosts but very helpful if we had a query. A comfy lounge, a well appointed and equipped kitchen (I swear everything you could need had been thought of and provided), a good sized bedroom (personally the bed gave me a touch of backache, but that's my back, not a comment on how comfortable the bed was), and a ...more
Being self employed I needed to stay on Island, but I really needed a break! Broogh Fort was perfect. Quiet, secluded. Loved having cocktails in the hot tub watching the sunset. Our cockapoo enjoyed watching the rabbits and birds! Cottage was immaculate. The best equipped kitchen in any holiday home Ive stayed in. Decor was beautiful. Lovely welcome basket full of goodies. All the very thoughtful touches were much appreciated.
It is an ideal location for exploring the island, the landlady is very friendly and helpful. You could not find a more beautiful and peaceful place to spend your time.
We loved every moment of our stay at "The Pines". The bungalow was very comfortable and even more spacious than it looks on-line. it was well equipped, the beds were great, quality fittings throughout and located in beautiful settings overlooking Port Erin and Port St Mary. Great choice of shops and eating places within easy reach. Convenient parking adjacent and whilst we were there, plenty of sunshine to sit outside and enjoy the views. Could not have wished for anything more.
This was my second visit and again I was very impressed with the cleanliness and quality of this accommodation. It is very comfortable, the views are excellent, it’s difficult to tear yourself away from the windows. The welcome of fresh bread, butter, milk biscuits and cheese is lovely, the beds are comfortable and the owners so helpful if you have any queries. Coming back again in the summer and will probably make this an annual visit.
I am intermittently working on the island and the downside to working away from home is missing home comforts, until I found Cosy Nook and the Brooghfort cottages site, it’s beautiful and feels like home when I am working say. I can bring my family including my fur baby Edith. Lynn is a fantastic host nothings too much trouble and really cares about guests, it’s warm and you can control the temperature of your own heating as some of the other properties that I have stayed in on the island control the heating !! Ian the maintenance guy is amazing too nothings too much trouble. The hot tub is pe...more
Beautiful self catering house. lovely gardens the house was really big. Port erin was lovely. Everything you needed and more for self catering It was beautiful start to finish
All good. Great base. Lovely house. Good to have parking. Easy to get about from the house - Castletown has enough to keep you going without having to drive.
Berrag is a magical place, set amidst fields with a view to the distant mountains. Particular highlights are the woodland and the private walled garden. The cottage is spacious and well-appointed. The owners were very thoughtful - available but not intrusive.
OK. We are biased and state it up front. We have been staying here for a week for five times. It is lovely that we just keep going back once a year to escape the 'Long Tail race'. Non manxies can look that up. Quiet. Peaceful. Comfortable.Well equipped. What is there not to like?
We received a friendly welcome by the owner. The cottage was very modern and fitted out to a very high standard. The facilities were excellent and super clean. There was nothing at all to criticise. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
The cottage was brilliant, amazing spot, clean and cozy. Tim and Jane (sorry if the names are wrong) were extremely friendly and helpful, allowing us to check out a little later for a lazy morning. Genuinely, the only bit of feedback I could give is that the dishwasher had dirty plates and glasses so did smell quite a bit when opened. Other than that small thing it was a wonderful stay.
Wonderful location with space for 2 families . Definitely a 5 star venue . Very clean and comfortable for the 8 people staying Lots of individual space , plus the extra window viewing area and the outside decking . Strongly recommend this venue
This house was perfect! Extremely clean, beautifully furnished and comfortable. Kitchen had everything you need, nice to have bread, butter and milk, along with tea/coffee and welcome chocolate! The bath towels were so soft and it was lovely to have The White Company toiletries. The outside sun terrace was also good with seating for 5 people and a wall heater. All 3 bedrooms were of a good size. We had 3 cars with us and parking was never a problem! I would highly recommend.
We were very happy with the cottage. Very comfortable, lovely views, and in a quiet area although still close to the amenities in the town. The bed was very comfortable and it was a nice touch to have a sofa in the bedroom to sit and watch the tides and wild life.
We had a week at Dive cottage and loved it. It’s a lovely quaint property with great facilities and location. It’s very quiet and private yet close to Castleton. It was well appointed and clean and a useful guide book left either some provisions to get us started. We would happily stay there again. The only small complaint we had is the settees are a little uncomfortable
The owners of this delightful property are warm, kind and generous. They ensured that a welcome pack including delicious fresh scones, cream, jam and strawberries, meant that the stay was extra special. The hot tub and sauna are set amongst fairy lights overlooking the beautiful garden and the owners are on hand if you need them but allow total privacy if you don’t. A really wonderful stay in this beautiful retreat.
The place was absolutely beautiful , spotlessly clean and everything we needed , shops and pubs in peel , where easily to get to ,
Thie Spooyt was an absolute treat. Well presented, lovely decorative touches. Perhaps a bit of a squeeze for 6, smallest bedroom is certainly that! Would have expected a property of this calibre to have cotton bedding and quality loo roll! Disappointing "Welcome Pack" including just 6 tea bags!! Small issues with cleanliness and bed linen, the latter rectified by Island Escapes without fuss.
Short break for the 2 of us plus 2 small dogs. Can’t fault it to be honest. The owners are just next door and are available, friendly but not intrusive. Beds were comfortable and we had everything we would need to enhance our stay including a great games room with table tennis and pool. It’s quite windy up there but to compensate for that the views are fabulous. It’s a great area to explore the island. Overall a pleasant, clean and welcoming place to stay. Tip: bring a paper copy of the directions as when we got up here both our Wi-fi zoned out and we were winging it a bit because the ...more
This house was perfect for our needs, we walked around the island and having a bus stop right outside the house made it ideal. The beds were very comfortable along with 3 bathrooms. I have no negatives to say about the house
Glen Chass Farmhouse is just a perfect place for families and couples alike. With walks starting just outside of the house without the need of a car and the beach, playground and steam train in Port Erin just a short drive. Ideally located for touring the island with most places no more than a 30 minute drive. We found no problem with parking everywhere we went. The house itself is ideal, three good size bedrooms, good size and well equipped kitchen, cosy living room/diner with a log burning fire. Plenty of information on places to go and visit and a marvellous selection of books to read. ...more
This place is amazing - spotlessly clean, every facility you could think of and more. The view is spectacular, and the location is great, with shops, restaurants and attractions all within minutes. The bus service was on time and regular. We didn't use a car.
Absolutely fabulous. We’ve stayed in many cottages over the years with our dogs and I can safely say hand on heart that this is our favourite. Lovely owners on hand if you need them however not intrusive, newly built / decorated and very clean, has everything you could possibly need. The outside area is stunning and huge, absolutely perfect for us and the dogs and great location on the island for getting around. Cannot wait to come and stay again, thank you so much for having us
We had a wonderful stay at the Packet House. The home is well appointed and beautiful. The view is spectacular! The location is perfect too. We are so happy we chose Packet House and will definitely book again if we find ourselves back on the Isle of Man.
This was our second time at Royal 1, came back because it was the perfect situation for ourselves, location and the house itself. Amy the owner is very helpful but just leaves you to enjoy your stay. We visited every corner of this beautiful wee island and followed the Manx Rally over a few days. If you enjoy driving there are some great roads but the Mountain Road from Ramsey to Douglas is the best of all, no speed limit either.
We had a fantastic stay at Cascadia House. The property has a beautiful look and feel – it’s cosy, stylish, and incredibly well located. Everything was spotless on arrival, and the amenities provided made our stay really comfortable. Would highly recommend and would love to stay again!
Ballachrink Lodge sits in a sleepy little hollow on the west side of the island in the small drive through village of Glen Maye. Whilst there are no amenities in Glen Maye (e.g shops or pub), it is situated a mere 10 minute drive away from the larger town of Peel where you will find all amenities. The accommodation itself is well appointed and most definitely towards the top end of the scale as far as dog friendly accommodation is concerned. The secure garden is a bonus and prevented us from having to don wellies with our jammies for that first morning walk! The property is well equipped wi...more
We visited as a family of 5. The Swallows was the perfect location and very spacious. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. We would definitely visit again.
Previous reviews say it all; from the perfect location, exceptional quality of the property and overall value for money (4 of us shared the cost).
Lovely touches in the house. Every thing was at hand. Help full owner. Suggest trying to get more air flow in the basement as smelt a little musty.
This property was boked for colleagues who were carrying out essential works in the area. The accommodation and location were perfect for their needs. The house was large enough to comfortably accommodate 3 engineers who all appreciate their own rooms and space. Communication with Island Escapes is always a pleasure, they provide plenty of information on the property and the surrounding area, and any queries are dealt with promptly.
Simply blown away with the standard of the accommodation at Bradda Place. Every bedroom comfortable beds, plenty of space, everything you would think you would need. Great kitchen, outside decking, tv’s in every room (although we couldn’t get the kitchen one to work), First class, and a great base for our son’s wedding at Bradda Glen. Also ideal for a family holiday as just across the road from the beach. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
Keys is a luxurious cottage. Everything provided is high quality . Whatever you need is at hand in the well equipped kitchen. The cleanliness is 5 star. The Welcome pack contains a nice selection of drink and foods to get you started . Would highly recommend a stay there . Only downside is the lack of garden however as you are right by the sea front a very short walk leads to swings along the sea front . Free parking around the back of the property is useful too .
Loved our stay here - watching the sea from the balcony every morning, the stunning kitchen, and the little extra touches, all made this a really lovely stay
I would highly recommend Balladuke for family staycations. The views around the farm are to die for!
We’ve stayed in Brookville Cottage on numerous occasions now over the years and it remains our favourite place to be on the Island because it is so spacious for two people. The cottage is modern, light and airy and offers every facility and amenity you could possibly need, whatever, the weather. It is immaculately maintained and for us, visiting family, the location is ideal. We love the south of the Island where there is plenty to see and do with excellent restaurants and coffee shops in Castletown, Port St Mary and Port Erin.
A truly wonderful family retreat for the week with the pooch. Sunny as well. Lovely atmosphere in the cottage with everything where you would expect it to be (spare rugs , welcoming bread, milk, cheese and butter). Went out every lunch but otherwise took advantage of the remoteness and the peace and quiet. A staycation, just loved it, returned refreshed.
Dandy Rigg is a delightful cottage in a lovely setting and we were so relaxed and comfy there. Very peaceful. Really enjoyed our stay and exploring more of the beautiful Isle of Man. Thank you.
This was the perfect location for our wedding party (family of the bride). We enjoyed a few days pre wedding and the space and location were fabulous! Couldn’t have wished for a better home to prepare for the celebrations and share time with family and friends during our pre wedding celebrations.
We were blessed with lovely daytime weather and, which definitely enhanced our stay on the island and at the cottage. There are great views and accessibility to the piers and for boat watching/launching, especially from the landing window, the kitchen and the dining room windows. On returning to Langton House each evening we did, however, feel the cold in the house. The pre-set central heating controls would need an adjustment at this time of year, we felt. We had a 5-month-old baby and a toddler to consider. We thought (briefly) about the suggestion of lighting the traditional coal fire in...more
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The location is outstanding with views to Snaefell on one side, and the sea and distant lighthouse on the other. The proximity to the little beach below, and cliff path right next to the driveway made exploring easy and we always had the area to ourselves. The house is lovely too, very warm and spacious, but it needs a little TLC as the 1970s dining table set has worn seats, the kitchen has quite a lot of old kitchenware that is past its usefulness, and the bed mattress also needs replacing as the springs are poking through, but only in one of the...more
My family came over to see me, the whole booking was excellent from start to finish. So much information and confirmation about the booking and the property. The property was great, had everything we needed. Super clean. Will definitely use Island Escapes again.
We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend as my son had a three day cycling race. The house was in great condition, beds super comfy and the welcome package was such a special touch. This was our first ever holiday home we have hired as a family, and we loved it. Positives: Sea views are amazing and access to the beach is easy Welcome package, really thoughtful and helpful Beds exceptionally comfy Very clean Spacious and airy Excellent utility and study rooms, nice to have when you have a lot of stuff Drive way plenty big enough for a van and car Crockery etc all supplied (...more
The apartment was conveniently located with parking outside the front door. The views were incredible, with a quiet beach and walks opposite the property, which was important to us as we had a dog with us. Entering the apartment meant using several sets of stairs, which may mean it isn't suitable for everyone. There was a further set of steep stairs up to the main bedroom, which put us of from using it. The apartment was well appointed and comfortable, although the necessity for internal fire doors was a bit of an inconvenience at times. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and found...more
We very much enjoyed our stay. The house was a great for our larger family. And found it a perfect place for our stay on the island
Our first visit to the IOM - Sunnyside provided a lovely base from which we did our best to visit as much of the Island as possible. Island Escapes had sent a wealth of valuable information which was both reassuring and useful. We loved our week there.
Property in good condition and well appointed. Wonderful views and quiet. Everything you need for a comfortable break.
This is a great place to stay. Renovated stone cottage with character but brought up to date with all modern comforts. A great location that is central to everything you need in Castletown. If you are looking for comfort this is the place.
We’ve just spent a glorious week at Eary Cushlin with our family. We loved the remote location and stunning sunsets seen from the lounge windows. The house is well equipped and comfortable, as well as being well placed for visiting every part of the island. Communication with Island Escapes was excellent too and we really appreciated the hospitality package. Thank you.
Stayed for a week in October in this lovely house by the sea. The accommodation is excellent and well thought out. The views are stunning and the location is quiet but well placed for the airport and Castletown, Port Erin and Port St Mary. We loved the well equipped kitchen, the large communal dining area and the fact that the sleeping accommodation is well spaced apart - essential when there was a noisy 3 year old with us! We were warm and cosy during our stay and found plenty to do and see.
The Coach House didn't disappoint not least because of the splendid weather. No need for the log fire this time although judging by the draught through the windows this is needed in chillier weather.
Loved this place. Location is perfect. Immediate access from the front door to lovely walks exploring the coastline, glens and harbour village itself. Port St Mary is a lovely place to visit, do as little or as much as you like. The island is there to be explored and when you return to Tides Reach you have a well designed modern holiday pad which is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need (including an air fryer). Bed is large and very comfortable. Bathroom modern with walk in shower with good water pressure. I believe there is underfloor heating but as it was warm and sun...more
Good location for our needs. Very clean and comfortable. Additional hand towels and hooks needed for the kitchen and downstairs W.C. Towel rails required for the bedrooms and shower room. Good basic kitchen equipment provided, but there were a few more items I would have used had they been there i.e. mixing bowl, teapot cover, steamer pan, etc. It would be nice to have a small amount of kindling ready to light the wood burner for the first night. Thank you Island Escapes for another good stay on IOM.
Three of us had a fantastic stay in this beautiful location. One struggles with his mobility so it was an ideal place to stay. A beautiful view to wake up to looking over to the sea.
Our third visit to the Stables Lovely spacious cottage with disabled access which is perfect for one of our daughters who has limited mobility. Perfect location to explore the island. My only criticism would be that we were looking forward to the use of the hot tub which we discovered on arrival had been decommissioned although was still on site Both the website advertises the facility and the pre arrival indicated it was available which was rather disappointing.
The Hayloft lived up to our expectations and we really enjoyed our stay. Very good location with walking distance to the harbour, beach, restaurants and cafes. Also 5 minutes from Snaefell Mountain Railway.
Beautiful house , great location, sea views , spotlessly clean, had a lovely short break here really nice comfortable beds slept really well.has everything you need. Welcome groceries when arrived , would love to stay here again sometime.
Excellent only trouble with coming this time of year is a lot of places loke museums was closed all in very nice time
Gorgeous cottage in a fantastic location. Spa facilities were lovely. Immaculately clean and had everything we needed.
Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to "Harbour Hideaway" in Castletown. The property is handily situated close to the harbour, easy to find [use the instructions provided] and comfortably provides sufficient space for a family of 6. The lounge and dining area is a really good size, the bathroom facilities are thoroughly modern and the beds were comfortable. My only hint would be to take a small / medium sized car with you in order to fit it into the relatively small allocated space at the rear of the property. We took our Suzuki S Cross [4.3 metres length] after advice from ...more
We had a problem with the back door key being stuck in the lock so made a phone call and it was fixed within a couple of hours. The only criticism was that there was not a sheet on one of the double beds but our son lives on Isle of Man and he provided one. Apart from the sheet issue I would give this property 10 /10.
I have come back home from my wonderful holiday to the Isle of Man and I would like to give you some feedback. The ferry from Heysham to Isle of Man was great with no problems at all and the return journey to Liverpool was okay too even though there was a slight delay because of port issues/tide. The accommodation was very nice with everything we needed for our stay. I was disappointed there was no proper E.V charging point at the property. I took my lead as I normally would to charge the car but unfortunately, I left the 3-pin charger at home. You did put on the pre-arrival that it r...more
Clean and comfortable although hard to warm up in the really cold weather without the log burner. Very well equipped for cooking at home
We loved staying in this cottage. It is an old building, which has been sympathetically modernised and renovated. We stayed there with our children, 17 and 14, and it was ideal for the 4 of us. The twin room is up very steep stairs and a little way from the main double bedroom which was ideal for all of us, but might not be so good for young children. The kitchen is really well appointed and would be great for dining in, but with such a good chippy and kiosk we didn't bother. We would all happily stay here again.
We had a lovely time at Baljean - beautifully refurbished Manx cottage in a perfect location, helped by super weather all week! Our little dog loved going on the beach in the early morning and late evening and was welcome in most places too. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.
No fault with accommodation whatsoever, entirely up to expectations. Island Escapes were excellent to help sort out heating.
The cottage was very comfortable well located and very clean Only downside and very minor - there are 3 keys on a string and it is hard to know which key works with which lock.
Nice cottage exactly as described. Good location and Island Escapes sorted a minor query straight away.
Had a lovely week exploring the island from this handy base. Clean and well equipped, it has superb views across the south which are delightful to enjoy with a coffee in the mornings.
After a bit of a mix up with the property cleaner not prepping the house the Island escape team came mob handed to get the place cleaned for us. The house is fantastic, very private and the grounds were great for the kids and the dogs. We had a brilliant stay here and wish we could have stayed longer.
Really great level of accommodation. Fitted to a high standard, lots of space and very comfortable. I stayed on business for 3 nights, and it was great to stay somewhere homely and outside of Douglas. I would suggest some clearer signage to The Swallow's Nest from the car park - took me a little while to find the door when arriving very late in the dark!
We booked this apartment because of its proximity to Bradda Glen, where my sister was getting married. It was perfect, especially as we were bringing our small dogs. The location was great; it was close to local amenities and the beach! The apartment looks exactly as it did in the pictures! Stunning views of the bay! You could need everything for a short stay, including access to Netflix! As a regular visitor to the Island, I will most certainly book this again.
Very peaceful location in rural surroundings off the beaten track. The cottage was clean, well equipped and well presented with a nice arrival pack which we appreciated.
Overall we were impressed by the position and size of the property (it was a bit of a TARDIS) and it was well appointed. But given it's 5 star listing and price it did appear a little frayed around the edges. There were a few touches that would have made all the difference. The place mats were dirty/laminated, the toilet roll holder in the master bedroom was rusty, the garden back and front was a little unkempt with weeds and rubbish was caught in the fence line at the front, the bedroom furniture in the master bedroom was tired and some of the mattresses were a bit sunken.
Lovely stay, comfortable cottage with everything you need, location perfect for us with a dog. Would definitely return
Our favourite place to stay on the island. Traditional Thatched Manx Cottage but with all mod cons. In a great location literally 2 minutes from the beach. Peaceful and quiet.
Perfectly situated close to all amenities. Lovely beaches and walks. Well kept outside space. Having the steam train so close, and stopping on each trip at the station across the road was amazing. Highly recommended
Comfortable property, well appointed. Very quiet location which was just what we needed. Shame electric car charging was not available despite being advertised.
Our group consisted of three recently retired gentlemen who wished to meet up over the Isle of Man motoring festival, and the property had ample parking for our three cars. Cottage was very well equipped enabling us to eat in one evening. I would not hesitate to return to the property with my wife at some point in the future.
We really enjoyed our fortnight's stay. We were made very welcome by our hosts and the apartment was very nice and provided everything we needed. On arrival our lovely hosts had left us a hamper of some basic foods and some special treats too. Everything was perfect and we should love to go back again.
We enjoyed our stay at Close Vark Farmhouse and would recommend without hesitation. Bill and Lisa were perfect hosts
We were very impressed with Beach’s reach. House was conveniently situated a short walk from the promenade. Kitchen had a good selection of crockery, cutlery pots & pans and good quality appliances including a washer dryer. Living room has duel aspect windows, comfortable sofas and a log burner. Bedrooms were bright and airy with duel aspect windows on the first floor bedroom and large Velux windows in the attic rooms. May not be suitable to those with mobility issues as shower is over the bath with high sides, stairs are steep. Living room and kitchen are on two levels due to the steep incli...more
Nice cosy cottage ideal for dog walkers and walkers in general excellent owners who live next door nothing was too much trouble
We stayed at Mariner's Cottage over the Easter break, and thoroughly enjoyed staying there. When we arrived everything was clean and tidy, and there was some tea, coffee and cleaning items to help us get set up before going shopping. The cottage was fantastically positioned, close to the castle, square, and all main amenities for the town. The cottage itself was very well maintained, and the bed was very comfy. We did have a slight problem with one of the sinks, but Island Escapes fixed it very quickly, with no delays or issues, thank you. All in all, the cottage was perfect for our needs...more
We had the Fuschias and the Swallows for our group. We booked them as they were adjoining, but the adjoining door was locked, this wasn't really an issue though. They were well equipped and clean and comfortable. The gym and spa area was an added bonus. Good location, adequate parking and great communication. Really good value for money, would recommend. Just a note to say a minimal amount of handsoap and toilet roll provided so make sure to bring your own. Overall very happy
Property in secluded estate set back from main road. No traffic noise at all. Excellent facilities and standard of tasteful furnishings Not suitable for those with mobility issues as bedrooms up wooden stairs and no lift One star removed as although the bathroom upstairs has a bath there was no shower attachment. The larger bedroom has quite low beams which could be a problem for those of 6 ft There was also no coffee machine/ cafetière as promised but there was milk white bread and cheese on arrival which was handy. Will certainly consider returning here on our next visit to the islan...more
Truly, you could not do any better! The Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. Our long-term stay has been incredible. Everyone at Island Escapes has been amazing - they do everything they can to be helpful, they are always available and reliable. The Lodge is exceptional! The location is so quiet, you really would never think you were on a street with neighbors. A quiet, relaxing retreat. Excellent company to entrust your vacation/stay with and fabulous accommodation. Thank you.
All in all this a nicely presented and welcoming house, in easy walking distance of the town, the park and the beach. It was nice to arrive to a Christmas tree in the lounge, along with milk, bread, butter, cheese, tea and coffee bags. There are a few things I’d suggest to improve though; the mattress in the second bedroom was very thin, the master bedroom would have been better with a king sized bed, and the Roman blinds on the windows makes it impossible to let a little bit of light into the room without being on display to the passing neighbours. It would also have been nice to have had T...more
I stayed in West View for two weeks in mid November, the owners kindly left some bread, butter, milk and cheese in the fridge for the first night it is a very convenient location both to walk or even bus into Douglas plus also in a few minutes you are on the major road network. Parking was easy and very safe I loved my time there. My only concern is not with the past but the future as I wanted to rebook for early 2025 and the price has risen significantly from what I paid in November and that has made it too expensive to stay there again. That said, I will book again with Island Escapes as...more
Lovely flat overlooking the sea. Even though the weather was rubbish we were very comfortable and warm. Kitchen was very well equipped and the welcome pack of butter, milk, bread and chocolates was very thoughtful.
Great apartment with views over the bay. Excellent place for visiting the Isle's highlights. Bonus of parking at the rear, so no need to worry about parking on the road - but make sure you take the disc, provided, for parking everywhere in the island.
Great location and property to spend Christmas with family who live in the village. Lovely and spacious house which was perfect.
We chose Knock Rushen for its size, as we are a large family with an age range from 18 months to 93 years old. We were not disappointed. The whole house was beautiful and spacious, silly things like the stairs were wide & shallow so were manageable for all. The kitchen / dining room/ seating area was massive and space for all around the table. The house had been decorated for Christmas which was beautiful. We hope to next year xx
Requires light outside front door like others to see lock on returning. Cooker requires cleaning. Labrador doing Number 2 s outside kitchen window unattended.
Lovely location and great apartment , the only downside was the lack of soundproofing from the upstairs apartment.
Fabulous location . Great for access to all the South of the Island offers. Immaculately clean . Slightly tired in a few places eg bathroom sink plug not functioning on arrival , tap chrome in loo peeling . Shower fab size but grouting needs sorting . Lashings of hot water great and heating very efficient when needed . Would benefit from hose to clean back patio and furniture from the daily hen poo. Sad back platform not accessible this year as a sun trap . A few more items in welcome pack would have been nice - and some extra toilet rolls. Having said all that a great place to sta...more
Very kind they left a loaf of bread, butter milk and chocolate on arrival as it was much appreciated I think you should get your deposit back if you haven't broken anything House smells a bit musty Oven was dirty, on arrival so we had to call the office, could be a bit cleaner No shelves or bathroom cabinet to be able to to put toiletries away No hand towels for drying your hair Cottage is overlooked by othe property directly in front of this so not very much privacy Not really a 4* accommodation It is in a good location
A well equipped and spacious barn which met our needs ( pensioner couple with a dog). The property is, however, very open to a busy main road so dogs cannot be off lead. The owner called round to see us and was friendly and helpful. There was lots of information about local places provided in the cottage in addition to all the information provided by Island Escapes.
A small but cosy living area with breathtaking views over the beach. Easily spend a day just people watching out the window and with a stones throw away to the outdoor spa its a lovely routine in the morning. Warm cottage with adequate water pressure in shower. There is no dishwasher which is a bit unfortunate. The bedrooms are adequate but on the small side. Bedding could do with an upgrade. The television could be bigger. There are lots of little steps in the house. Overall lovely for a short stay, second bedroom ok for one person but not two.
We often use self-catering cottages. It's a hit-and-miss bag. Some that we've found were downright disgusting; others, like here, were clean, warm and welcoming. There were a couple of things missing, not least a corkscrew, which meant we had to take some of the wine home with us. To be fair, I normally carry a chef's tool kit for just such occasions, but on this occasion it was left at home. A 'house book' would be nice. It took a while to figure things out, including what to do with the rubiish. It may have been in the guidelines book pdf, but something physical, in the house, would serve...more
This is a well presented large apartment. Very clean. Bedrooms are large and the queen size beds are brilliant. So comfortable. Will look to use again next summer. Just one thing. The internet is provided by a mobile unit and the mobile data speeds on the prom are poor so the apartment’s internet is slow. This wouldn’t matter quite so much but for the tv being an internet only tv. Could full broad band be added?
The outstanding location and sunsets and large lounge window enhanced the comfortable and spotless apartment
We have stayed at the Views for many years over a long period of time. It’s homely, plenty of room, everything you need is there. The views of the surrounding countryside are superb.
An excellent stay in the best equipped self catering we have used. Wecome lovely The Byre was immaculate, lounge furniture & beds so comfy and even the weather played 'fair'. The event of Lambing Live was unexpected but we were forewarned. It was really enjoyable with not one instance of bad behaviour from the children as they were too busy and immersed in the activities and lambing. So restful outside the lanbing event. Would I go again? - Definitely, Thank you Fiona, John & team
A lovely light apartment with everything easily at hand. The terrace was very welcome in the evening. A beautiful setting and so quiet. The garden and ducks were a delight
We enjoyed a six night stay in this clean and comfortable cottage which is ideally located a two minute walk from Peel beach and promenade. The street on which the cottage is located was very quiet. The only issue that we encountered was that we were unable locate the dustbin despite our best efforts, apparently it is kept somewhere off a neighbouring street but we could not find it. Overall a very enjoyable break.
The milking parlour is a delightful holiday cottage, fully updated, very comfortable , and quite spacious. It is in the north of the Island about 30 minutes from Douglas but the relatively small size of the Isle of Man makes everywhere on the Island easy to reach. The views from the accommodation are wonderful with views if the sea and on a clear day Scotland is visible from the milking parlour. I'd recommend this property to anyone who requires a comfortable modern spacious base . We did meet the owner who was really helpful as were the staff at Island Escapes who provided detailed inform...more
The house was comfortable and clean but living room areas were a bit stark… particularly the front living room. No small tables or place to put drinks if sitting in there - same with second living room. Second bedroom not really a double. Cramped for one person with limited space around bed and very limited hanging space.. Not suitable for 2 adults. Pleasant but basic for a 4* self catering. Shower heads need replacing. Car park barrier doesn’t work and needs replacing. Staff were very helpful in resolving some minor issues quickly.
Had 17 nights on the Island for work, location is excellent although in February the weather does not do it justice. This was my second stay in Scenic view apartment. The only gripe is that it could do with some new pans. Had a problem with water flow for hot water and heating, caused by a leak down the road. Spoke with Island Escapes and it was sorted before i got back from work.
Lovely house and beautiful views of Douglas bay! Would definitely like to stay there again. Thank you.
the house was a bit hard to find on the estate the first time quite a climb if walking house was spacious i found the settee soft and not easy to get of double bed was fine the king size bed was to singles put together it was very large public transport is excellent the staff at island escapes where very efficient and very informative we would use them again when we come again
Firstly the location. A tale of three sides is how I would put it. Side one overlooked the golf course and surrounding hills. Lovely views and quite relaxing to look out onto. Side two over the Irish sea in the distance. Again a very relaxing outlook. Side three from the bedroom windows is a bit of a disaster, overlooking some garages that look like they need knocking down. However it has to be said that there is no disturbance from this area. When you enter the property you get a bit of a surprise, and a gashed head if you are not careful. Underneath the stairway is the washing machine ...more
We are a group of 4 ladies who go on Staycations regularly. This farmhouse was so tranquil and peaceful, such a lovely break from the everyday trudge. The farmhouse was clean and tidy and tasteful decorated in a quaint cottage style decor which was very in keeping with the whole character and age of the property. The conservatory is superb. Very large and airy but ample heating to make it comfortable in the evenings but also ample opening windows and a door so it doesn’t become uncomfortably hot. The kitchen is smallish but well equipped and has an AGA cooker, which is easy to use when you hav...more
Very clean and well equipped. We had bread, milk, butter and cheese left for our arrival. The only problem we had was the shower. The drain was partially blocked which caused the shower tray to overflow. On the morning that we left, I noticed a small amount of water dripping down through the kitchen ceiling.
We’ve been before expecting similar experience. The tower is gorgeous. I love the scenery and the facilities. Location is so good, not far from town. It is very sweet that they leave essentials in the fridge and everything you would need if you forgot to do a shop. Unfortunately the place is in need of a serious, serious deep clean. The hot tub was so slimy, definitely needs chlorine or something similar. There were no instructions to how/when light it or to advise hygiene which made me anxious on how previous guests may have treated it. The splosh cleaning products although I love the idea...more
We had an amazing time and after our second visit to pargys, we’ll definitely be back for more. Great place and really well located with great walks on the doorstep and peace and quiet all around. Thank you for a brilliant stay
We recently stayed at Cronk Breck cottage with our pet, the owner Steve greeted us and he is a lovely man. The property is lovely perfect for a couple. The only complaints I have is it was freezing the heating is controlled by the owners and despite their being an oil filled radiator it wasn't adequate for the whole building, I feel the cold due to the medication I take. Despite the owners being lovely it felt like you were staying in their back room as there was an adjoining access door and windows to their living space, I would prefer more privacy. Their were treats left for our pet and ...more
Corner House is a lovely, little place to stay just off the promenade. It has a cosy feel to it and has been renovated to a nice standard. The stairs could be a challenge as quite steep up to bathroom and bedrooms if you were a little unsteady on your feet. Well equipped kitchen, some nice little extras for use in bathroom stored in dressing table in small room. Lots of mirrors and coat hooks around. Only grumble would be the very small back yard type space could do with a new piece of astro turf and paint touch up. Would stay here again as central to all amenities on quite little road.Sam from...more
This cottage is ideally situated off the main road and is nice & quiet. We arrived very late on the day of our arrival and were grateful for the little extras such as bread & milk. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfy so got a good nights sleep. The bathrooms were clean and towels were provided along with bed linen. Unfortunately the cottage could have done with a bit more cleaning as there were cobwebs everywhere, which meant there were many spiders too, a bit off putting. The kitchen itself looked like it was given a general clean and that's it. The chopping board had...more
We stayed at Cherry Tree House for a week and found it an ideal location to relax and unwind and explore the island. Despite its three star rating we found it comfortable and clean and very dog friendly. There was an allocated car parking space and had all the facilities we required. It was close to a a local store and larger Tesco was available in Port Erin only 5 minutes drive away. It was excellent value for money and we would stay there again
We really enjoyed our stay, lovely area with good places to eat. The garrison in castle Douglas and the forge grill a short drive away were particularly good.
We stayed 20 nights at the house. It was very central with good parking. The stairs are quite steep and the turn around at the top 3 stairs difficult if poor mobility. Would do with an extra handrail. Nicely presented Comfortable beds Trams run at back of the place which is nice
We stayed here over Christmas 2024 and the location was perfect for us. The cottage is lovely and very quaint and island escapes had added some lovely Christmas touches to make our stay seasonal. The cottage is just perfect and is decorated with style, however we found the bathroom could have been improved by providing a floor mat, as it was not nice getting out the shower onto the wooden floor. In the living room it was again tastefully decorated and the accent chair very comfortable but the sofa was very hard and uncomfortable for a week long stay. The space upstairs was great and the dres...more
A warm welcome to a clean, heated accommodation with the nice touch of a Xmas tree! The kitchen & lounge spaces were good. The bedroom was small but the double bed was very comfortable. Terrific service from James when we couldn’t access the internet. Sorted out within minutes. The uninterrupted sea views were beautiful. Perfect location for the No. 3 bus route, easy parking & a short walk down-hill to Laxey shore. The walk back up the hill requires stamina! All in all, reasonable value & a very pleasant stay.
On arrival kitchen floor at sink was full of water no mop. Floor wet again next day on further inspection water leaking from pipe under sink. Been like that a long time as cabinet was out of shape due to leaking water Dust and cat dog hairs in bedrooms. Tried to hoover no suction. Crumbs on bed side cabinets dirt in bathroom corners. Every room had cob webs and dirt in corners. Sink upstairs thick with dust. Main bedroom carpet full of dirt and hairs. Stairs carpet not hoovered. For our arrival and amount we paid seemed no cleaning even done. Couldn't sleep in room itching from pet hairs a...more
