My stay here was very enjoyable indeed, on arrival shirley and john give me a very warm welcome. The cottage is old fashioned and quint so this was just perfect for me, it even had a Po under the bed lol, which I didn't use incase you are wondering. Shirley and john provided groceries in the fridge, along with a fresh basket of fruit and a bottle of red wine, all of which was gratefully welcomed. When I headed upstairs there was also a box of after eight left on my bed, along with a little kitten called manxie to take back to ireland, he has grown a lot. I then took myself for a walk round the...more
Had a wonderful stay at Elgin Retreat, it is beautiful and almost brand new, Hosts Lara and Adrian were so welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic stay, it is a beautiful secluded location but very easy to get to, and within a very short distance of Ramsey, The manx electric railway runs past the end of the garden, and there is a stop about 50 yards from the door, we will definitely be back
Our family of five stayed here for a week and really enjoyed this well located, quality accommodation in the heart of the countryside. Great beaches nearby which we enjoyed during the fabulous weather we had. The gym and spa proved popular with all the family. Would definitely recommend. Thankyou to David for showing us around and John at Island Escapes for their professional service.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The cottage was comfortable, well equipped and spacious. The items left by Island Escape such as milk, bread and cheese were a wonderful surprise. Place was very clean. The only drawback was that it only had one bathroom for three bedrooms, and my parents found the stair to the property a bit difficult.
We had a wonderful holiday and rest recharged our batteries we are coming back in October and can’t wait
Lovely accommodation would definitely return ,the hosts were friendly and not intrusive ,everything you needed was there my home from home
Close Taggart cottages are rightly renowned as a wonderful place to stay on the Isle of Man. John and Shirley, who own the cottages (and live next door) have put considerable effort into ensuring everything is perfect. The cottage has a comfortable bedroom, a separate study (with books and binoculars), a lounge, and kitchen. The kitchen is fully-fitted, with a helpful list of facilities and utensils that meet the Manx standard for self-catering accommodation. The welcome pack included bread, eggs, cheese, butter, jam, chocolates, as well as tea and coffee and Manxie the cat (who gets to leave ...more
The Stables at Glendown Farm proved to be an ideal 'Home from Home' retreat for for us, it is ideally located and beautifully appointed.
Highly recommended. Absolutely stunning location, gorgeous cottage with all home comforts. We will definitely be back.
The house was beautiful, loved the layout , decor and what a view! Everything was in the house that we needed. The dogs enjoyed the walks along the waters. Wonderful.
Although we arrived in the dark, we instantly knew we would love staying here. Accessed down a narrow, 'green' lane it sits between fields and next to the owners house and is a short walk to the sea ( fairly angry at the end of October! ) The house was clean and had everything you would need and everything just worked - thankfully this included the heating and hot water as we had many cold and wet days during our stay but the house was toasty warm and very comfortable. The oven, dish washer etc where all high spec AEG making things easy. The coffee machine makes excellent coffee with a mil...more
Very attractive cottage in a brilliant location. Restaurants in easy walking distance and a parking permit for the convenient car park was provided along with a welcome pack of essentials.
What to say about Kilravock. A modern new build property with every amenity you could wish for that is finished to the highest standard and furnished with comfortable homely furnishings. A real home from home in a beautiful sea front location. Yes it's located on a main road, but its a main road on the Isle of Man so its hardly Piccadilly or Hyde Park Corner. Stunning views, big skies, and every home comfort. Do yourself a favour, open the blinds in the master bedroom before you drift off to sleep and be rewarded with the most beautiful sunrise the following morning. Oh and there's a very nice...more
We had a lovely staycation and look forward to doing it again soon. Place was clean and well kept and great location. Must say that for anyone with mobility issues the stairs are quite steep. Loved it.
The tower is a wonderful place and managed to have everything we needed for a week. Getting to know the Andersons made it invaluable. Would totally recommend.
Well appointed house for all amenities in town. Comfortable and clean property and spacious enough for 8 people.
Well equipped with excellent facilities - exceeded expectations. Only problem was with slow hot water supply to wet room and blocked drain. Added bonus was quality of spa and gym area.
We had a wonderful stay at Tides Reach. Everything was impeccable and worked well and the situation right next to the beautiful and peaceful harbour was just great. Excellent restaurants, local pub and walks also. All good - thanks.
Maggie’s Cottage is a wonderful place for a holiday, set in beautiful scenery in the centre of the island. There is easy access to the Heritage Trail for walks and cycling, with many other local walks and features nearby. The cottage is a delight, well equipped and comfortable. We loved the different animals on the farm including the chickens that wander about freely. Phil and Fliss are great hosts, full of useful information and suggestions. Nothing is too much bother for them.
Very clean & well supplied with kitchen utensils. A bit out of the way but peaceful & scenic. Excellent eatery the Colby Glen Inn 5mins away
Situated in the South of the Island this was ideal for visiting the many interesting places close by. Very comfortable and well appointed, modern and finished to a high standard. Owner very helpful and accommodating. Golf courses within 15 minutes made it all the more attractive.
Thie Fuinnee is a lovely holiday house with plenty of room and accommodation. Positives: - Spacious with modern facilities. - Three bathrooms, two with full bath and one with shower. - Good location near to Port St Mary harbour and coastline. - Excellent customer service (the heating would not come on, but this was sorted the same day by Island Escapes). Not so positives: - There is really only parking for one car in front of the property. If you take more than one vehicle, be prepared to park on the road. - WiFi is a bit hit and miss. - Comfortable seating in the living room for ...more
We have had a lovely stay in the house. Everything has been thought of, down to towels for the beach, kids toys, body boards for swimming, alexa in lounge and all of the bedrooms and plenty of games and books. The house is set a quiet location, all we could hear from the windows was the sea! We will definitely be back!
Good location in Old Laxey, comfortable, spacious. Kids appreciated the board games and there were lots of books you could read. Heating good. Nice garden. Would stay again.
What a gorgeous place. A very high end finish. Obviously the highlight being the balcony but every room is thoughtfully furnished to a high spec and spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable after busy days sightseeing and a few provisions left in the kitchen for our arrival were very welcome. Wish we’d had longer to appreciate all the facilities. Easy booking and entry to the property. The car sat nav took us the wrong way with the post code for 15mins though google maps on my phone sorted us out. A great stay
The Rowans is a nice comfortable cottage that is full of character, with everything you could possibly need for your get-away. We would happily stay there again. There was only 2 of us but the cottage has 2 downstairs bed rooms and 2 upstairs 'loft' bedrooms all very nicely decorated. The cottage is ideally situated across the road from the Mitre Pub and on the TT course.
We needed a family property at short notice for a long weekend & this was the perfect match. Clean, well equipped, comfy.
We really enjoyed our staycation at this cottage, it was fabulous. The location for the bus transport was perfect and we really enjoyed the lovely restaurant and great pub very close by. We will definitely be returning. Thank you
The Stables is fantastic accommodation if you are looking for accommodation including disabled facilities. The property is large, everyone has their own bedroom and shower room, it is quiet and cosy and there is a working farm! It is located just outside of Peel, a nice seaside resort. The property is close to the coast path for walking, there is ample and easy parking, the farm has animals to meet and watch, places of interest are within easy reach - an ideal base to explore the island. The owners are friendly and accommodating. All in all a brilliant place to stay.
Really enjoyed our staycation here. Hidden away house with interesting history. Comfy beds with electric blankets. Loved having the fire on every evening.
We chose this cottage for our first ever trip to the island. Great rural location near the beach. Dark skies area, so there were amazing views of the stars. The cottage is perfect - authentic Manx on the outside and suitably renovated on the inside. Kitchen had all the equipment you need for your stay and the little welcome pack was a bonus. Comfy bed, decent heating and a nice shower. Topped up with provisions from Andreas stores and pub meals in the Grosvenor (Andreas), The Swan (Ramsey) and a very good Indian Vellika (also in Ramsey) Would definitely recommend
2nd visit to this property. Excellent stay again, the only down side is the very small kitchen but that's only a minor issue when you consider the rest of the house and the location/views!
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend arches holiday haven, Port Erin. Close to shops and beach. Maintenance were so fast when required - they were brilliant. There were a few bits that needed some attention but they didn't affect our stay
Excellent location for Peel and surrounding areas. Great place to stay and base ourselves plus enjoyed a couple of evenings in. Would defo recommend and would book again.
A fantastic property on a working farm, The Byre is a converted barn and all the rooms benefit from the high ceilings. It is well laid out and very spacious. There was everything we needed for our first visit to the Isle of Man and we are definitely going to come back with friends!
We have had a lovely stay in Bwanne Meanagh and Bwanne Jiass as a group of five of us this worked really well. We usually stay in Douglas and the cottage experience was new to us as well but the location of the cottage just outside Kirk Michael was really central for exploring the Island. The cottages were lovely and clean and cosy and a lovely welcome pack was provided by the hosts. The booking experience through island escapes was easy and these cottages are excellent value for money. It's a really relaxing place to stay and the beds were really comfy too. Thank you so much for a fantastic s...more
A very pleasant stay at Golf View Apartment. It was very clean & well equipped. Appreciated the welcome food pack as we arrived @ 7pm. In a great location opp the golf club with fab views towards Bradda. Would definitely stay here again.
Convenient location for visiting family. So close to all amenities. Clean and well presented accommodation.
We live in Douglas and had a 3-night "staycation" in the apartment at Close Vark Farmhouse in Andreas (22 miles away) in September 2021. The apartment was very large; modern; clean; well decorated; light and had all that we needed for the stay. It also has a large balcony with good views and the area is very peaceful. We had meals at The Grosvenor (the local pub, about 1.5 miles away) and Vellika's (the Indian restaurant in Ramsey, about 5 miles away) - both were excellent. We visited the Wildlife Park and the IOM Motor Museum - both were interesting and enjoyable. We also visited Jurby ...more
West View was an absolutely idea spot for our stay on the Isle of Man. The property is lovely and set in superb, secluded gardens whilst being just a few minutes walk from many activities. An excellent base for exploring the island. The owner was extremely helpful. We did have some difficulty finding it in the dark when we first arrived (we don't have sat-nav or such like). Some idea of distance from the traffic lights would have helped and also some mention of the gates may have aided our search especially when three people we asked had no idea where it was! Altogether though we loved it an...more
We love staying here. It’s a perfect venue in a lovely area. Very cosy. Great views. Had the best time with our pups too.
A very comfortable and convenient property, plenty of space and a good location.Watch out for the narrow entrance to the drive!
An unusual property with it's colonial style balcony and rooftop room with 360 degree views, many hours spent up there with a good book and glass of wine enjoying the views of Port Erin beach, promenade and the majestic Bradda Head. There is a very well fitted out kitchen, pleasant dining room with patio doors on to the balcony, two decent sized bedrooms and a good sized shower room. The seating in the lounge however is in need of an upgrade, the sofa is uncomfortable and the chairs not much better. The back of the house is a sun trap and very secluded, this is accessed from the kitchen by a d...more
Great little cottage with a nice conservatory. Beautiful lounge. The washer/dryer was useful as well!
Only negative is minute bathroom & micro ensuite Who desiged it? Seems to be an afterthought which is bizarre as plenty of room to do a proper job with stud walls. Nice quiet location with excellent views. Ian & Sandra very helpful.
Great value for money, surprised as more spacious than expected. Chose location due to dog allowances and they absolutely loved it and didn’t want to leave. Would definitely come again maybe as a group next time. Thank you!
Lovely spacious period property with fantastic views of Peel. We had plenty of space in the apartment and the welcome pack left was a lovely surprise. The instructions for everything were clear and concise and when we rang Island Escapes with an issue, it was sorted out professionally and promptly. Thank you - we would definitely stay here again!
A well appointed, well located apartment with some unusual quirks. Unlike many self-catering holiday lets, there were no staple comestibles provided. By this I mean, no tea, no coffee, no sugar. The salt & pepper pots were empty. While there were plenty of cups & saucers, there were only two mugs, which meant frequent washing up for guests who prefer their beverage from a mug. No teaspoons were found, but sundae spoons! There were plenty of chopsticks available for the oriental guests, but one wonders how many such guests use this property. No tablespoons for serving food, which might be expec...more
Appreciated the fresh produce on arrival as it was rather late at night.Sharing the cottage with friends found the accommodation very practical and homely. Would definitely recommend to friends, and would gladly use it again.
Enjoyed our stay at Curlew Cottage as it was very convienent for visting family on the island . Very well equiped and comfortable .Near the local shops and lots of lovely places to explore near by.Compact ,but had everything we needed , I would definitly stay there again
The property had a very pungent smell of moth balls. The bath was very deep and this combined with the stairs made it more difficult for older guests
This is a lovely property to stay in. It’s spacious, light and perfect for a family. The beds were comfortable, the house is well stocked and there are lots of games and dvds. The garden is secure and a great size, we used the outdoor table for evening meals on the summer nights. There were a few things that could be improved: Generally the house appeared clean. However, the floors could be cleaner, white socks turned black! It would be great to have a washing line or clothes airer to avoid using the tumble dryer/radiators when possible. The hot water was not great, we followed the ins...more
Beautiful rustic property with an amazing view. Had everything we required. Perfect location for public transport.
A great holiday home close to an excellent beach and walking distance to the shops and steam train. Ample kitchen facilities including a washer and drier. Could just do with some garden furniture to enable the family to relax in the garden together.
Lovely little cottage in a very good location close to Douglas Promenade. Only downside is parking, property has a dedicated parking space but every evening another vehicle was parked in it meaning we had to park some distance from the property.
Location good for the beach, public transport connections, and restaurants. The sofa is very comfortable and kitchen fairly well equipped but no scissors found. Some light bulbs need changing and sink tap in bathroom needs serious attention. Beds were comfortable and the welcome pack of bread and milk etc was a nice touch. The lights are controlled by remotes which were a little difficult to navigate and the switch in master bedroom was hanging off the wall. Overall a comfortable stay but the flat needs a little tlc. TV instructions would also be handy.
After Bwaane Twoaie, Jiass was a huge disappointment. It was second-class quality. It smelled stale and damp and required a coat of paint everywhere. Surely because we downsized did not mean that we should expect poorer treatment? No washing machine in the property, the washer/dryer available in the outhouse absolutely stank. It did not spin as part of either the wash or wash-dry programmes we used. We found out later that if we washed first (which left them wringing wet after the cycle had finished) then ran a spin cycle , then a dry cycle, it worked - in the end - but it was time consuming...more
