Stayed here for a few nights with my family of 5, we booked it for a surprise 60th for my dad and had a pleasant stay. I chose this place again having stayed in one of the little huts for 2 with my partner. The space was spacious, clean and comfortable. I would recommend for any families to stay, even in the colder months the rooms are warm and cosy with lovely walks and pubs nearby.
We have stayed at Hermanus a few times now and have never been disappointed. We have two disabled children and the accommodation was clean and well laid out and site is perfect for their needs. The pool although very cold is fantastic and the small park next to it is perfect. The only suggestion I have is perhaps you could offer WiFi in the accommodation as an added extra option. We would definitely stay again in the future.
We have been staying here for 10 years, sometimes twice a year. The roundhouses were the first to be updated and they are now working their way around the chalets. The roundhouses are very clean, with everything you need for your stay. They are all slightly turned, so you can sit in bed and look out to the sand dunes and the sea. With the Norfolk weather, it is lovely to come back to a warm house, without the need to start turning on heaters.
We stayed in little roundhouse it was fabulous with our two small dogs it was fresh clean when we walked in I couldn't fault it .the valley is stunning we walked the beach from Winterton-On-Sea to Hemsby couldn't ask for more it was bit cold roundhouse was warm with the heating and very cosy we have booked for next year fisherman return is doggie freindly we enjoyed our meal and stayed the evening in the cosy bar ben and Bela loved the special doggie treats .loved every min of it .
Had stayed on the site before in a standard chalet and wanted to try the round houses. I was very pleasantly surprised to see they had been upgraded to a high and comfortable level. Everything looked and felt new. Hope to stay again next year. My mark 4 as to value for money is only because for a single person I think it is a bit high but real good value for a couple
Another wonderful stay in a double roundhouse. Fantastic location for long dog walks and watching the seals. No wifi so back to basics with family board games and it was just wonderful
Back for 3rd time at October half term. Chalet good and comfortable. Love the out look with green space for kids to play.
Ours is a special family weekend usually the second weekend in October! Our family is now 42 members plus those who have dogs are welcome too - all split in Hermanus ‘homes’! We play games on the green enjoy a meal in the restaurant on Saturday night for prize giving! On Sunday morning games on the beach and there is always Sunday lunch at the restaurant!
We spent a couple of very enjoyable days in the Roundhouse with our two small dogs. The accommodation is small but has everything needed for a short break. The standard of the furnishings as well as the kitchen and bathroom was very good.
We stayed in number 21 The views are amazing, the place was super comfortable, it was for 2 but had a bed settee . The shower was fantastic. Everything we needed. Really great. would defo stay again.
Couldn’t fault the accommodation. We have stayed previously and it was great to see the bungalow has been renovated and refreshed, with modern decor and new kitchen/bathroom. Winterton is located right next to the beach and is a great base to explore the surrounding area. The complex/restaurant is closed as out of season but we were aware of this and enjoyed going to the Fisherman’s Return pub a short walk away. Will return, very enjoyable short break with kids and our dogs.
Fabulous place to stay. The roundhouses are clean, well equipped & in a great location overlooking the dunes. Easy check in with a key safe & there’s a lovely lady on reception. Close to a pub, shop, cafe & fish & chip shop. My 4th stay, highly recommend & I will be returning.
We have stayed here several times over the years and love the area The roundhouses are so cute and atmospheric
Spent 2 days away here the facilities where clean lovely warm and cozy and so close to the beach made for a perfect get away many thanks to the hard working staff and cleaners.
First time for us to stay in October, just as enjoyable as our August visits. The weather was good to us not as cold or wet as we were expecting. Easy access across the dunes to the beach. Short walk along the beach to see the Seals. Stayed in "Breezes" bungalow, kitchen well equipped. All staff friendly and helpful as always, we will return it's such a relaxing place,
As always, a lovely relaxing stay at Hermanus. The only issue to report was the shower which functioned in an eccentric fashion- sometimes hot, sometimes cold, most of the time tepid!
Wonderful in every way! Been staying at Hermanus for the last 10 years, the recent refurbs have made the properties even nicer to stay in, can’t wait for our next visit!
I have visited Hermanus for the last 10 years or more The houses are a delight, clean and always warm I bring the dog and we are straight on to the dune valley and 3 minutes from the beach Winterton is a small picturesque village but only 8 miles from Great Yarmouth and near Norwich
We first came to Hermanus Holidays in 1978 and visited many times as a family over the years. In the earlier years there was evening entertainment The past 7 years it has been my daughter and my dog, first 4 years in a roundhouse but changed to chalet 51 as it has 2 bedrooms. It is nice and relaxing and the Highwayman serves great food too. If you want a variation there is Fishermans Returna pub in the village and a good fish and chip shop. Great walks on the dunes with the dog and there is a outdoor heated pool which was still open on the second week in September
A very pleasant stay in a very nice place, the only problem we had was there was no television reception all week, apparently due to atmospheric conditions,
Had a weekend stay with my 2 teenage daughters. Had seen the round houses before & had always wanted to stay so booked as it was my daughters birthday. Loved the uniqueness of it, had everything we needed, was clean & modern inside, comfy beds, comfy sofas. Shower water pressure a little low but other than that we had a fab stay. Village has amenities like a shop, pub & fish and chip shop, even out of season we had a wonderful time. Beach close by for a walk.
This is the third time we have stayed in the huts at Winterton as they are in a great location for the beach and for us to do our cold water swimming. We booked the weekend stay package but was a bit surprised that we had to vacate the hut by 9.30am Sunday morning .I mentioned this when we checked in and was told that they needed time for the cleaners to go in and to clean etc. Its supposed to be a relaxing break but to get up early to then pack to leave means you cant do anything Sunday morning i.e. go for a swim in the sea (pool doesn't open till 9am onsite) or walk etc and so then you would...more
Fantastic customer service and a great place to stay Look forward to my next visit next year and will come for longer!
Love staying in Mirth! Home from home . beautiful location fabulous for walks on the dunes and beach
Wonderfully views over the Dunes nicely refurbished bungalow second time in the accommodation 3rd time at Hermanus
We booked to go to Hermanus in June but unfortunately my wife broke her hip. Hermanus kindly let us take the booking later in the year, when she recovered. It was a lovely relaxing holiday and we could take our dog. Staff are always ready to help.
As always a very enjoyable stay. We normally book the round houses but this was a very last minute booking, the inside of the bungalow was lovely, very spacious and comfortable, how ever it smelt very fusty and damp, but it is in a very shady position, the outside needs a good clean.
40 years and still relatively unspoilt, family friendly feel. Accommodation is clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and food was great value … see you next year!!
My two daughters, two friends and two dogs wanted to have an autumn break having enjoyed a summer break earlier at Hermanus. They had chosen the actual chalet and dates, I booked it, and my wife and I were the taxis, both there and back. They all report a great time, with the actual chalet being spacious, very clean, and having all that was needed to make their stay comfortable. Despite the mixed weather which went from warm clear days to exceptionally heavy rain and wind, they made the most of all seven days. Even on the last morning, when I was due to collect them, they had been dow...more
Been here around ten times in the last 8 years and once again enjoyed every minute. Will definitely be booking up again next year.
The location is brilliant within short walking distance to the beach everything you could want on site eating and drinking in clubhouse as well as being able to eat in the village if you want to come off site
The place right over the dunes, the view to the sea ist wonderfull. The roundhuts are nice, but fallen out off time. That is all fine. The mainthing is the Seasidelocation. The price could have been much less. Thank you for asking. Kind regards from Baltic sea. Anja
Wonderful stay as every year. Could not fault it sea view, comfortable cottage and clean. And tidy pleased as always
Since we couldn't come in july we where very happy to come round in october. We where happy with the house and the accommodation. So we will be back.
Nice area. The bungalow definitely needs upgrading now. £125 per night is expensive for the decor. Hermanous staff were friendly and helpful. The walk to the beach was lovely. Once upgraded will be worth the money but think the undecorated should be cheaper.
What a wonderful relaxing location for a half term break. Comfortable accommodation, friendly staff and incredible food at The Highwayman.
Dirty, damp, cracks in ceiling, cobwebs, spider nests, paper peeling off walls, cutlery filthy. Had to clean and hoover before staying as office had closed before we found just how bad the property was. First time we have ever stayed in this property in all these years, usually stay in a round house, but with the state of this property and the prices now charged we will not be back.
