We had a three night stay with our 8 year old grand child, with a cloud free night over the sand dunes we could see the stars so well (very little light pollution). The accommodation was warm and comfortable and the little welcome pack was a nice touch. All staff friendly and helpful as always, looking forward to our week long stay in the summer with all of the family.
We were very much in need of a short break as we had been incredibly busy since Christmas. The weather was with us so lots of lovely beach walks and time for just the two of us. The first of many short breaks this year. Thank you Amelia in the office for being so lovely and cheerful.
This is my 3rd visit to Hermanus but my first stay in a bungalow. It had all that we needed to make the stay comfortable & it was clean and tidy. The kitchen was functional, the shower was powerful & the beds were comfy. I pre-booked for Sunday Lunch - can't fault it, really tasty with ginormous yorkshire puddings! Will definitely be returning in the future, love the location, love the area & always feel super relaxed
We stayed in one of the pet friendly Roundhouses for a couple of nights while visiting Winterton on Sea. The location was wonderful, a very short stroll to the beautiful dunes and beach, the perfect place for walking our dog. The Roundhouse was clean, comfortable and surprisingly spacious for two, containing everything needed for a relaxing stay.
Our first visit to stay at Hermanus and it was perfect in every way , the weather made it and our 2 dogs had the best time...a very dog friendly village and the dunes and beaches are just brilliant for dogs and humans..we'll definitely be back...thank you.
We stayed as a family of 5 and there was amble space! Rooms were all very clean and had been nicely updated. The garden was also lovely just didn’t use it at this time of year. Great location right next to the beach! We also had dinner at the restaurant which was great, a big selection and reasonably priced.
We enjoyed our recent stay in round house 21. We have stayed many times over the past ten years or so and have never been disappointed .
Another weekend break at Hermanus. We just needed to get away and switch off which we did. Half an hour after arrival I was sound asleep, the sound of the sea relaxed me straight away.
Pleasant location, clean, well managed accommodation, friendly, helpful staff. Have visited several times before, will be returning in due course.
My February 3 night stay in the blue roundhouse number 17 was excellent. The views from the bedroom are wonderful and I was as warm as toast in there looking out over the dunes and sea. Everything was a good standard, apart from the WiFi which was sporadic. I used the little fan heater once in the evening, but generally I was warm enough. The onsite Sunday carvery was really marvellous, and my vegetarian option came with vege gravy and separately cooked potatoes. It was a well presented thoughtful meal. I will definitely come again out of season.
A great place to stay right next to the beach & 15min drive from the amazing seal colony. Bungalows are comfortable & well appointed.
Quite a unique style of property. Nice location overlooking the dunes and the North Sea. Perfect for the morning sunrise. The accommodation was spotless and was ideal for a short stay. Nice size kitchen/dining/lounge area and bathroom although the bedroom was a little compact. Parking available adjacent to the property and just a short walk to reception and the bar/restaurant. Picnic table just outside overlooking the dunes and sea. Just a short walk into the village of Winterton where you will find a well stocked village shop, post office and a pub. Winterton is on the coastal bus route with ...more
This is our 11th year staying at hermanus. The size of the accomodation is perfect for us and winterton is a beautiful village. We do miss the games room though!! The decor is tired but it is great to be able to bring the dog.
Lovely little site Accommodation now modernised is good Got shower Dog friendly Nice place to chill Nice now the NYE party is back,,,,, brilliant buffet
It was Monty the beagle’s first time in Winterton having been before with other dog . As always very clean and tidy , fantastic location and luckily fantastic weather and surprisingly quiet, excellent time , thanks
I’ve stayed here several times before, it’s a great place to stay on the coast. Accommodation was excellent & the village has everything you need.
Just when you thought Hemanus couldn’t get any better……. It does. The refurbished chalets are lovely, well set out, heating works a treat if you need it. Another great week in Winterton with the weather on our side. Can’t wait till our next stay 5*****+
Our stays at Hermanus are always a pleasure, the chalet was clean, well equipped and very comfortable as usual, can't wait for our next visit.
We’ve stayed with Hermanus several times, we love the location and the Round Houses. Lots of lovely walks, the bar staff are great with a good selection of food and drink. Will be defiantly going back. Just a note for maintenance the TV in the bedroom turns on and off by its self, and the shower head holder won’t hold still. Picky but loved our stay thanks
I love the roundhouses at Hermanus and they suit my needs perfectly. I also feel relaxed and at peace there. My only wish is that they would invest in some new bedding as it always seems rather tired - how ever this is a minor issue and does not reduce my love of the ‘hobbit’ houses.
A very well equipped and comfortable roundhouse. Everything you need was provided except your own towels and a nice little welcome pack was left out for us. The view was totally fabulous and we had a great break!
Lovely clean accomodation and magical for 3 year old Grandson. Comfortable beds. The only negative was bird poo on steps and benches, but hot kettle of water solved that.
Close to the beach, plenty of nice walks lovely pub in the village all very friendly at a lovely Sunday carvery on site
We had a fabulous stay in Surf bungalow at Hermanus in Winterton on Sea. Everything you need and more for a relaxing break away. We have been here so many times and will continue to return as long as we can!
Another good holiday here. Good clean accommodation and good food. Could do with some hooks for coats
The accomadition was clean and spacous with comfortable furniture and beds which you always find here not had a bad holiday there yet and the sunday carvery is excellent value for money only wished i lived nearer as i would be going there every sunday. All the staff are freindly and helpful and go beyond exspectations. Will be going back in the future.
Fabulous quirky accommodation, in a great location. So convenient for walks on the beautiful sandy beach and dunes.
Chalet warm with comfortable seating and beds. All very clean, great shower, easy recycling of glass etc. Sunday lunch we had superb carvery followed by great walk on beach. Looking forward to coming back.
We visited as 4 friends so chose this 7 berth chalet to accommodate our bed requirements. Bedrooms a good size with adequate hanging/drawer space. One problem with bedrooms was they only had a central light so trying to read in bed difficult. Bedside lights would be helpful. Kitchen well equipped and lounge comfortable although it could probably do with a lick of paint . Bathroom huge but no heating …. rest of chalet rooms had electric heaters. No hooks to hang any clothes or towels. Had a shower over bath which was difficult for our age group (older ladies) however water was always lovel...more
Only one issue . Security light on property opposite goes on and off all night, as there was no blind or curtains on the door this disturbed us and our sleep.
As always, good value, fair price and chalet well looked after. The chalet has been updated and is lovely. Again, as always, the Hermanus Team are top people, right from booking, through the stay, and when leaving. They do their best to help and make the stay enjoyable. Thank you. See you next year.
Hermanus never disappoints happy to be a regular visitor so pleased to have had it recommended can’t wait to return
We had a lovely stay, this our place to get away for relaxation, lot's of lovely walk and a lovely village
My Wife & I have stayed at Hermanus around 15x over a similar amount of years. We enjoy the location & quietness. The staff are always friendly & responsive. The grounds re lawns & flowers looked amazing. However, Dawn' was relatively a lot of money considering: The 1x toilet was dirty & so were the windows. The TV didn't work until we needed to call for support on the 2nd day. Disappointed that the bar & restaurant was only open at the weekend. We didn't expect the swimming pool to be available as usual but why aren't the the property prices adjusted considering the time of year & ...more
Arrived during the heatwave. Upstairs was very hot as blinds and curtains had been left open and we arrived late afternoon. There were no fans. Both toilets were downstairs and all 3 bedrooms upstairs, an issue for me in particular. No hairdryer or bedside lamps. Otherwise agreeably impressed with very high standard of cleanliness and furnishings. Pool heated?? I don’t think so
Amazing all round - highly recommend. Loved walking down to the dunes with the dog every morning. The village is beautiful too.
Another very enjoyable stay at Hermanus and was great to see the chalet had been spruced up with a lick of paint. It's always a lovely feeling knowing what we'll get at Hermanus and that's a clean, comfy chalet with great food onsite, friendly staff and lovely walks with the dog along the dunes. It's a shame that no curtains or blackout blinds have been added to the bedrooms yet as that is always a problem for me being quite a light sleeper and was awoken at 5am this time. I must remember to bring something to stick to the window next time! The check out time of 9:30 is a little on the early s...more
