Our 4 berth chalets offer a comfortable and affordable place to stay, with everything you need for an enjoyable and relaxing break.

Our chalets have 2 bedrooms, 4-berth and are situated on the ground-floor.

Chalets include a lounge/dining area, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with full-size bath and overhead shower.

Bed linen is included and all beds will be made up ready for your arrival, but you will need your own towels.

nice and quite location of property clean and tidy inside and out. only a couple of downsides was the car park was pebbley and steps not clearly marked as on set just looked like a path you just walk down.

What a wonderful relaxing location for a half term break. Comfortable accommodation, friendly staff and incredible food at The Highwayman.

Great location, ideal with two dogs and very comfy. A little dated but so are we. Needed curtains in the bedroom and a bedside light would have helped. Overall it was a lovely weekend destination.

Thank you hermanus for another great stay with you! We've been coming now for the past 4 years as we just love it so much, the location the site the staff! Having stated in a number of different lighthouse chalets and oceanaire chalets I was surprised to see no curtains in the bedrooms? Only venetian blinds, making it soo bright in the mornings! I had to put a towel up but that wasn't much use...so I would suggest having curtains up so you're not awoken too early! That and a little bit more cuttelry would be my only suggestions

The chalet was the perfect size for 3 adults and 2 dogs. We have stayed onsite before, so we know we're happy with the area. The chalets are looking a little tired. The beds were ok but our main problem was the amount of light that comes in at night time. The blinds are great but could do with blackout curtains over the top. The car park light stays on all night and even the front bedroom gets so much light, it makes it difficult to sleep. Saying that, we'd certainly come again, just maybe with an eye mask! We even had dinner on site one night. The staff were lovely and friendly and the meals for our party were all good.

We needed a flying visit to Winterton so this chalet fitted the bill. But oh dear it is so tired! One socket in the tiny bedrooms, strip light over the kitchen area and one celling light. Pictures screwed to the wall (don't worry, we won't steal them!) and so faded you couldn't see what the images were. Artex ceilings. Porridge coloured walls, ancient cooker, minimal equipment. Sofas were comfortable and so were the beds. But as a visual environment it was dreary. This was the standard of 40 years ago, it's not really acceptable now! The instruction book seems hostile to guests, full of warnings, it needseds rewriting

The chalet was damp and freezing cold on arrival. It would be nice to warm it up a bit. We reported various leaks on departure coming from the ceiling, but it wasn't critical. The chalet was very very cold upon arrival and the sheets were damp through the cold. Try and warm it up a bit before people arrive. Stains on the sofas but we brought our own throws to put on them to save marking from the dogs and it's a shame others don't do the same. A bit tired and could do with some decorating. The beds were the most comfortable I have stayed in and the chalet was plenty big enough for 3 of us. Also the location of the chalet was perfect for the dog. Nice to have a bath too. We would stay again, hopefully in the summer.

We stayed at chalet 71 for a weekend break,lovely to be able to take our dog with us.
The walks on Winterton sand dunes were amazing, always get a sense of peace when I stay at Hermanus.
Our chalet was comfortable and had all the basics we needed for the weekend.
The Highwayman was not open,due to the time of year. However we ate out at The Fisherman's Return pub in the village, which is well worth a visit.
I've been going on holiday to Hermanus for 44 years & look forward to staying there next year.
An amazing place to go on holiday.

The perfect base, facility's on site are very welcoming, great food and bar.
The beach at Winterton a short walk across the dunes love it. Looking to return soon. Highly recommend

With a new dog on his first holiday we were really pleased with the Hermanus site location, the beach and dunes etc provided a real wealth of walks right on your doorstep.
As far as the accommodation goes we do appreciate that it is a dog friendly chalet but it is really looking a little tired and could do with a freshen up.

I think bedside lamps and bathroom cabinets would have made a great addition more electric plugs would be nice also a carpet without holes and threadbare even better

Location excellent accommodation all good dog friendly within easy driving distance to other locations and the broads plenty to do and see very close to beautiful sandy beach but the sand dunes can be a bit heavy going to get back and forth from beach thoroughly enjoyed our holiday

Absolutely loved staying there. We have been there for 3 nights and found this place perfect fit for our family. Not to crowded despite it all beeing booked with plenty of space around the premises for kids and dog to run. Enjoyed our early morning dunes walk and short dostance to the beach. Will definaly recommend to check this place and will definitely be back in the future.
