A beautiful well maintained property, we had such a lovely time here! I would highly recommend! Everything you need is there
An attractive property Thoughtfully developed as a holiday retreat Cosy and comfortable Well equipped and a lovely place to relax in
Beautiful house, situated in a stunning, secluded location, with Dunvegan Village just a 10 minute walk away. Numerous things to see and do in the area, Nesit Point being one.
We loved our stay. The cottage was clean, comfortable and homely - it has everything we needed. It was in a great location, and easily accessible to various sights. Would highly recommend.
Stunning property in a stunning location. Spotlessly clean, cosy, really comfortable, brilliantly well-equipped...we've stayed in a lot of self-catering properties and this rates among the best. All this plus a stunning location: Ord is beautiful and so quiet. Fabulous views of the Cuillin and the wildlife was incredible - spent a lovely half hour watching a pair of sea eagles from the cottage, plus saw golden eagles and an otter. Fabulous walking - a perfect week away. Can't recommend MacKinnon highly enough - thank you!
Fantastic view, clean, comfortable and one of the best equipped holiday homes you could wish for. The property is well situated for the village shop, pub and attractions on the island Highly recommended
We had a wonderful stay at Blue Sea Cottage! The view from the home is amazing and the sun room is the perfect place to enjoy it. The bedrooms are comfortable with nice linens. The bathroom is large and the bathtub was such a luxury. The kitchen space and cooking supplies were perfect for us to cook meals every day. We are already eager for a return trip to Skye!
We had just a lovely week at this fabulous cottage. The cottage is so very comfortable and has everything you could ever need while away from home. The location is wonderful and a great base to explore the best Skye has to offer. We would love to come back to this spot and we really didn't want to leave. It's a very special place.
Our recent stay at Katie-Anne's Thatch was totally fabulous! Everything you could need was provided, the cottage was lovely and clean, warm and comfy, and Sid, the owner, was a most friendly and welcoming host. The location is wonderful with the waters of Loch Ainort gently lapping away at the end of the garden, and the views of the Red Cuillin opposite are stunning. A truly lovely cottage... much photographed by passers-by!! We will, without doubt, be booking up again as soon as we can!
very enjoyable week in duirnish, scenery spectacular and duirnish lodge and gardens a very nice place to stay
Allderburn House was in the perfect location, less than 5 min walk into the centre of Portree. A very well equipped and comfortable house. A perfect base for exploring Skye. Highly recommend.
Great place for being peaceful and quiet. If your looking for somewhere outside of the hustle of Portree this is perfect. Well fitted out and supplied with all you need for self accomodation and cooking. Only slight issue (if you want it) is very poor mobile reception and no wifi option.
Claigan View was everything my wife and I wanted this Christmas - luxury accommodation in the middle of nowhere in a place very close to our hearts. The Isle of Skye is stunning and waking up to the magnificent views from the cottage was spectacular. Everything was perfect, and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending to our family and friends and anyone else looking for an unforgettable holiday on Skye! We loved every second of our stay at Claigan View.
We had a fantastic time at the Shepherd's Cottage in Eynort. The cottage is charming and well looked after, the setting is incredible. Appliances and furnishings are all quality and on the newer side. The kitchen is stocked with whatever you may need to cook and serve meals. Plenty of guide books and maps for the area and beyond. There are walks nearby and around the cottage, and an old graveyard to explore at the end of the track. We loved having sheep as our only neighbors, and the loch to gaze upon. We will definitely book again, hopefully soon. I miss it already. Thanks for sharing...more
The house is really isolated onkz surrounded by the beautiful quiraing and some sheep. It has got a nice stove which gives You the warmth needed after a long day outside. The kitchen offers all equipment necessary and it has even got a wash Maschine. The bath is always warm and the house has its own water supply by an own spring with wonderful water. The best place to start your own journeys through the Isle of Skye.
Lovely house, plenty room, remote and peaceful location, beautiful scenery, great walks, quiet roads for biking.. would definitely recommend for a totally relaxing holiday.
A wonderful property with amazing views. The cottages was furnished to a very high standard with everything a family could wish for. One of the best cottages we have ever stayed at. Very comfortable and cosy yet spacious. We highly recommend Ard Na Mara and will stay stay there again.
Cute traditional white washed cottage that has been fully modernised and is well equipped, including washing machine and dishwasher. Perfect for a couple with a spacious and open plan layout and stairs that lead straight up to a very comfortable double bedroom and large bathroom with separate large shower cubicle. The location is fantastic as you are within touching distance of the water and with a south westerly aspect enabling you to catch the sun throughout the day and enjoy beautiful sunsets. Whilst it is a fairly rural and peaceful spot down a quiet lane, you are only a couple of mi...more
We had such a wonderful time at Kinloch Follart. It's a beautiful, well-equipped, luxurious house in a magical part of the world and we were really sad to leave.
We have visited Skye before. It is a well worn path, but have not enjoyed our stay so much as at Taob na Mara. The view is stunning, the accommodation clean, comfortable and stylish, with lots of small and well considered touches. What a great place to unwind. We will be back as soon as possible. John & Eimear
Fantastic cottage. We had 6 guys in here for a week doing some mountaineering up on the Cuillin Hills. It is a really nice place, we are repeat customers from the year previous. 1 - The shower is weak, not what you want after a day on the hill. 2 - I would like a number so that I could inform the owners that I was leaving a day early, this would doubtless help them and make me feel happier about leaving the key in the agreed place but hardly secure. That is all I can think to drip about, we will book in next year.
In a good location, overlooking Loch Bracadale. Sun room was fabulous to sit in and watch the glorious sunsets. Excellent amenities and welcome from the host
The cottage was very well equipped, even including midgie hats; had many books and loads of maps and guides for walks. Storage was good although there were only two of us, and we did use the twin bedroom to hang our coats. Might need a few extra coathangers. We were happy in the cottage but as the driver, I was taken aback by the driveway, which is up a rough narrow, potholed track ( If you drive a low slung car it will be an issue), although Idid get used to the it. It was a short walk down to the village of Edinbane where there are two eating places. We can highly recommend the Inn whi...more
A clean, warm and comfortable property in a quiet but accessible location. It was lovely to watch the local wildlife and the views from the large picture windows, especially the baby rabbits playing in the garden. Set back from the main road between Portree and Uig, it was easy to drive around North Skye and further afield, if you wished. The nearest shops were in Portree, where there is a couple of Co-op supermarkets, as well as local food shops. The complimentary biscuits from the Skye Bakery were especially nice! The kitchen was well equipped and had all the essential facilities for a self...more
We enjoyed the stay at Bayview, the location was great and a good base for the surrounding area. The cottage was clean and was suitable for our needs. The week went too quickly.
Absolutely perfect, spatious and modern cottage. Breathtaking views from the lounge did not get boring. Would highly recommend this cottage.
We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Glamaig Cottage. We were due to arrive a bit early, but emailed Highland and Islands Cottages the evening prior and got a response first thing in the morning to let us know we could check in early. The cottage was a short walk (note: it's a steep hill if your mobility is challenged) from the bus stop in Portree. Linda was there to greet us and show us the cottage on their property. She and Mike were very kind and had left us a bottle of wine and a fridge stocked with essentials for breakfast (bacon, eggs, milk, jams, bread...) so that we wouldn't ...more
What should I say? Our week in Johnny's cottage was just great: cosy atmosphere, well-equipped kitchen, close to the picturesque village of Stein and most of all, arriving after a long trip in a warm, enlightened house with wine, crisps and cookies waiting for us. We had a wonderful time!
Our stay at the Tarradale cottage was the highlight of our vacation in Scotland. The location was close to town center, plenty of space for parking and the view was fantastic. If we visit Scotland and Portree again, we would first look to staying here versus anywhere else.
Four Winds is in a beautiful location. It is very well appointed with every home comfort provided, although the bathroom could do with an upgrade. A problem with the washer was resolved within 24 hours, so no issue there. The only thing that let it down was some attention to detail on the cleaning. The vacuum needs replacing as we like to leave a property as we would expect to find it, especially with two dogs, but we’re unable to do so.
Excellent cottage very well furnished and a great place to relax.Great for families with dogs but no compromise as very well appointed and extremely clean and welcoming.
This was our 4th visit to this cottage. It is just the job for a short break away for an annual reunion for two old friends. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and functional (btw the DVD player doesn’t work). Tucked away in a quiet spot on NE Skye it provides a good base for climbing the Cuillins, exploring the Quiraing and having a drink in the Flodigarry Hotel. Thanks, we hope to be back.
Great cottage, beautiful and confortable! Everything has been really OK. Just one word to describe that: Amazing!
Our 4th stay at these cottages - beautiful location in a remote but desirable area especially for hillwalking and so on.
We stayed for a week at the end of April when the weather was dry but very cold for the time of year. The property is in an excellent position on a very quiet lane overlooking the loch. Garden area is large and well fenced. Kildonan as an area is a good base from which to explore Skye, given that anywhere requires travel. The Edinbane Inn locally is good value to eat at, and there are other good restaurants within 10 miles at various prices. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped with the little things that are sometimes missing, like wood for the fire, washing up liquid, local m...more
Cedar Cabin is a lovely modern home from home for 2 people. All the rooms are spacious and the shower, especially is excellent. Convenient for the centre of Portree where there are plenty of eating places. The owners are close by and are very helpful with any queries. Highly recommended.
So pleased to have found ‘Islands and Highlands’ as this was the best holiday we’ve had on the Isle of Skye over a period of 12 years! Website information and property gallery is excellent and most informative. The detailed description is highly accurate and the process of booking/paying/receiving relevant documents and receipt etc, was so straightforward. An extremely efficient and friendly team made the transaction ‘a breeze’ Thank you so much, we look forward to booking our next holiday,

A small, practicable house in the capital of Skye with a very friendly Owner. We we're able to see a lot of Skye. It was a wonderful week. Thank you so much.
Fantastic views over the bay weather was brilliant sunshine ,wee bit out of the way but good for walks and fishing great house but wee bit dissapionted with the clearness , I had to clean kitchen fridge out before we could put anything in it ; also Keven and hob hadn’t been cleaned , also must have been kids in before us as windows were all smudge finger prints on patio windows , also would have been nice if the grass had been cut it’s quite long and picnic bench would be nice to the front of house to enjoy the splendid views but it didn’t spoil our time at an aisling but think for value for m...more
Good standard, amenities and location. Very well equipped and comfortable for my mother. Many thanks!
A perfect place to celebrate my husbands 40th. We will be back here in future! Everything was clean and the location you literally could not beat.
My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at Tystie Cottage! The views from the front of the cottage are amazing! I could look at that view all day! The cottage itself was quite spacious and very good to have 3 en suite rooms! It was very comfortable and great having 2 sitting rooms! The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed! We will definately be returning to Tystie Cottage!
Had a great week staying at Laimhrig on the shore. Superb property in great location for exploring Skye. When not out we spent most of our time in the conservatory looking at the scenery and wildlife. Spotted otters in the garden a couple of times which was great. Plenty of bird life. Very well equipped property with plenty of space and useful guide books and maps available. Good size garden with access straight onto the shore of the loch.
Very good, nice, clean, beds are great Location is good and heating/showers work perfect The WIFI was really disappointing, notified the owner and got an immediate response that this will be solved soon Some additional glasses would really help: no decent whiskey glass in Scotland is a missed opportunity Also no 6 equal plates are available, so adding some more plates, cups... could really help since there is room in the dishwasher A last possible improvement would be to add some extra shelves in bedrooms and the sinks in both bathrooms Mind this is a great cottage at a wonderful locatio...more
The house itself is a bog standard suburban house that does its job. The real show stopper is the absolutely incredible location with its great views of Staffin bay and the Quiraing. The ocean is only a few metres away, though there is no direct access. Not a big problem as the "beach" is bog and rocks anyway. The very nice An Corran beach has sand and supposedly dinosaur foot prints (we didn't find any) and it is about 10 minutes by foot (or 2 minutes by car). From the inside the views are still gorgeous, yet no match for being in front of the building. It's still very nice inside and the vi...more
Great accommodation in an ideal location for exploring the island. Would definitely book this again.
Enjoyable stay on Skye. But bedroom curtains need fixing. Need for instructions on how to set the clock on oven, main oven will not work until set. The hot water is dangerously hot. You need to sort out the parking we only got to use it once and got a snotty note from who ever is in flat one for our trouble
Super little cottage in a fabulous part of Skye. The stairs are a challenge without a doubt, however once you master the technique - no issue. well appointed kitchen which thoughtfully provides all the little bits you need to add to a dish when cooking!! The ONLY improvement would be if it was possible to get at least a simple mobile phone signal - the cottage is fairly isolated (although there is a farmhouse down the road) and having no means of contact in an emergency could be an issue. - living without a TV Signal and wifi is no big deal (unless you are constantly attached to your smart dev...more
A very nice place to stay, with enough room for the family. Well equipped with all you need from toilet to kitchen. Love the views and the special room to rest with family with windows to all the views.
Really clean comfortable well equipped house, surrounded by stunning scenery and wildlife. Truly magical holiday helped by a beautiful home to come back to every evening.
Very clean and well equipped, lovely views. The location is great - a good base for exploring Skye. Comfortable beds, kitchen has all we needed. We were left bread, milk, butter and teabags which was a really nice touch.
This is an excellent location that makes it easy to visit various attractions. It's a cosy house that is great for families!
Stunning setting, but cottage could do with updating. Microwave would be ideal. And a new tin opener. Light outside bathroom too low and kept hitting head.
Had a lovely 4 day stay at this cottage beautiful location. Well equipped easy to find. Comfy bed but sitting room chair is dreadful need throwing out ASAP no tv and couldn’t get radio so would be advised to bring own cds .
We had a really great time at this lovely, cozy, charming and comfortable old School House! We especially enjoyed the great location which was central on the island, near the main road which you didn't hear that much. There's a steep hill to drive to access the property, but it's manageable. The beds were comfortable and the House had almost everything we wanted and needed (except for a coffee machine/french press). We were really impressed with the great service of Islands & Highlands. Our highlight of this house is the amazing view over the Loch that you can enjoy all day! Thank you so much ...more
This is a lovely cottage with a great location for the south of the island and not to mention getting back to the mainland for the likes of Plockton and Applecross (via the "pass" is amazing!!). It's very compact internally but most of the time is out and about. The thing that let this cottage down for us was the cleanliness, especially in the likes of the kitchen. Granted 5 star luxury and cleanliness isn't expected but neither is having to almost spring clean the kitchen before using it or the items within. Shame really.
Very quite and clean cottage in good condition. A car is required but there is a very lovely cafe in walking distance. Good location for walks in the area. The washing machine has also a dryer which was great, but the machine was in the kitchen and therefor quite loud. We stayed there with two children (7 and 10) and had a very nice holiday.
We stayed at Tigh Sona for 3 nights at the end of an island hop around the Outer Hebrides. We liked the location, with the Michelin starred Loch Bay Resteraunt, the Stein Inn and SkyeSkyns all within walking distance. Whilst new carpets have been fitted recently, the furniture and kitchen are very worn and dated and some redecoration is long overdue. The hot water tank for Tigh Sona and the ajoining property is in the main bedroom, this both makes the room very warm in warm weather and also makes quite a bit of noise if left on overnight. The property manuals do point this out and sugg...more
The apartment is very well maintained with all the necessary equipments to make the stay even more comfortable.
This is a great position in wonderful Plockton, down a quiet, mainly car-free lane. Very comfortable, with great, safe garden over the lane, bordering the sea - glorious views.
A wonderfully cosy cottage in a superb location. Everything you need to relax en enjoy the isle of Skye.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful spot: very quiet (except for the wind, which you expect on Skye). Downstairs there is a dining room with sofa and living room with TV, both with stoves which make it very cosy once they are going and which we needed as it was freezing outside. Our first evening was abit cold as no fuel supplied to do even 1 fire, which was a shame and different to other places we have visited, which expect you to get your own ongoing fuel, but usually leave a fire laid/ enough for first night. Both rooms have lovely views out to the valley and sea beyond. We needed the stoves as s...more
This is a fantastic traditional cottage, with spectacular views across the village and loch. Edinbane is a great location to explore Skye and the local hotel is good. The house is comfortable and we really appreciate the views, the space, and the range of books, but the owner really needs to upgrade the bathroom, possibly replace the bath with a shower, as this would improve the facility immensely. It is such a great house that it would be definitely worth investing in it to tidy it up a bit inside and out!
Totally enjoyed our stay at Bridge Cottage and would use again. The only negative thing was the overflowing refuse bin with a number of bin bags lying beside on our arrival. Which affected it's initial kerb appeal after a long drive
Totally satisfactory rental for 6 adults (2 couples and 2 singles), and reasonably priced. Comfortable bedrooms/bathrooms; kitchen satisfactory, although the amount of cutlery was barely sufficient for 6 people. The portable heater was fine for the one particularly cool and damp day it was needed. The best thing is the excellent location, and there was always a parking space available, but a couple of times, only just! The one negative was that the stairs carpet was not very well cleaned, and when we tried to use the vacuum cleaner, we realised why! A Numatic 'Henry' would do a much bette...more
Cottage was good but I have the following 'constructive' comments: Fridge not cleaned properly - there was a feather(!) in one of the compartments. Extractor does not work in downstairs shower room. Various bathroom fittings - toilet roll holders not fully secured to wall. No wall razor socket (unsure if this was stated in cottage notes) Overall, not quite worth the money paid - given the above feedback. I hope this helps. Kind regards, Nigel Downes
Sat on the hillside looking up the loch back to Stein and Waternish, you really don't need to switch the tv on or connect to the wifi to check your phone. Beautiful big house with the most gorgeous lounge and views to die for. I was met on by my lovely host Lynette on my first night who welcomed me into the house and nothing would be too much trouble for her.
This cottage is a location for individualist for the one who has built and furnitured the place was an individualist, too. We loved the pure and hand-crafted style and the fantsastic viewing points fout rom almost every window of the cottage. Of course, the best one is the sofa in the bay window of the living room. Because the house is built so close to the shore of Loch Slapin, it's quite humid, and so is the air therein. But it's only a small problem... We often started our walks directly from the cottage. You don't nedd to drive far away to have beutiful paths for trekking and walking.
A perfect crofters cottage for a perfect location in the Isle of Skye. The cottage is surrounded by the Cuillins and Blavin with a loch at the bottom of the village. The cottage is well equipped and feels spacious yet cosy. The cottage is warm and the central heating and/or open fire are perfect for warmth and drying clothes. As the downstairs had laminate flooring it meant that we did not have to worry about muddy clothing/boots. We loved it.
Gesto Cottage is set in an amazing setting, the village of Stein is set in one of the most beautiful settings I have ever seen. The cottage is lovely and well kitted out, if the lack of WiFi truly annoys you, this is not your place to chill out. My only concern with the cottage would be the bathroom and beginnings of damp above the bathroom window. Overall though, a truly amazing place to stay in an amazing setting.
The location is beautiful and the house is lovely. But the kitchen ground was not clean, neither the cutlery and the pans. In the kitchen was no hot water, so we had to boil water for the dishes. The shower did not work properly, the water was not constantly hot. The duvets, pillows and matras were dirty, the covers were clean.
