Absolutely loved this cottage, and the location. A little piece of heaven. It's close to so many beautiful hikes, little museums, and the perfect getaway from the city life. Interior: Can't complain about a thing! The cottage decor is beautiful. The kitchen is well-stocked, having a washing machine is incredibly useful. Everything you need for your visit to the majestic Isle of Skye. Exterior: For visitors not familiar with croft/farm stays (including me), the cottage is set within a working farm, so, after you enter the first gate, you'll be (carefully) driving through sheep to get...more
We had a lovely time in this comfortable and spacius house. We would love to come back and will recommand this accomodation to our friends.
We absolutely LOVED our stay at Taigh Cill Chriosd in July this year. There were three couples travelling together, and it was perfect for this group. It was fully equipped, and we didn't find a single thing that we wanted or needed that the cottage didn't have. The beds were comfortable, and it was impeccably clean. The cottage was a short drive outside of the village, with a beautiful view of a little loch.
Big window in lounge provided great views across bay to harbour while sipping a cuppa or glass of wine. Cottage well located for day tripping around island. Appreciated the starter pack complete with a nice bottle of wine. One of our best stays in Scotland.
Amazing house, fantastic view, costumers services are on the top, perfect for all families. I recommande ++++
This place is next level. Beautiful location for exploring all of Skye. High attention to design detail and comfort. Immaculately clean, well laid out, quiet, gorgeous views, and plenty of space inside and out for relaxing. We almost didn’t want to explore Skye because it would mean leaving the beautiful house—a destination on its own. It was wonderful to come back each evening to the fabulous kitchen to cook or to sip wine/cocoa with the sunset view from the living room. Gorgeous.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Daisy Cottage. It is in a convenient location, allowing for easy day trips to popular locations on the northern side of Skye. The views from the cottage are spectacular and we spent a fair bit of time just enjoying the sights and watching the birds that frequented the water's edge. The cottage also had everything we needed for a comfortable stay - in particular, we were especially appreciative of the two air fryers on the property, which we used to heat up our leftover fish and chips from the Filling Station just up the road (which we'd also recommend...more
Great location in Portree with groceries, restaurants, and shops right there. We were able to explore the island in all directions, and then enjoyed coming back to relax at the end of the day. It's also walking distance to the start of the Scorrybreac path with its gorgeous views. Having a parking spot right across the street was great. The house is on the main road with a lot of people stopping across the street to take photos of the view of the harbor, but it was surprisingly quiet inside the house, so we didn't notice, and we had the bonus of seeing the gorgeous and picturesque view of the ...more
We had a wonderful stay in this very cosy, well-equipped cottage. It was lovely to see the water from the windows every morning, and great to be nestled in this quiet corner of Skye during the busy month of August.
Fairy Glen Cottage is ideally positioned for exploring the Isle of Skye; not far to go to Portree and Dunvegan and in easy walking distance to fairy glen. The cottage is exceptionally well-kept, clean and, like its owner Alex, welcoming. We love it and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Wish it could have been longer...
The Mill was a very comfortable and clean place to stay. The property is very good equipped and has a good location to explore the Isle of Skye.
We felt very comfortable in Ruadh. We were given such a warm welcome by our landlord that we felt like family. The house was in perfect condition, clean, warm and cozy. We saw deer in the evening and rabbits in front of our house in the morning. We felt like it was our home. Our landlord was very friendly and available at any time. We love this house!
The house was very beautyful, clean and gorgeous! Inside and outside perfect! We enjoyed our stay so much. Thank you from Switzland!
Mooie plek om het eiland te ontdekken. Het huisje was fantastisch! Heerlijke bedden, fijne keuken en fijne banken om in de avond netflix te kijken. Genoten! Wij komen terug.
Location seems remote ar first, but actually perfect. Great walks around the corner, broadford nearby an truly a place to forget about the rest of the world...!
Très belle petite maison en très bon état , tout confort, hyper calme. Même si personne nous attendait, l'accueil était au rdv avec confiseries et pétillant ! Le poêle (en plein août !) était le très bien venu Vraiment une adresse à recommander
An ideal cottage for a couple. The owners are very kind and helpfull. Handy central location on the Isle of Skye. You can walk to the town center and still benefit from a very calm environment.
The cottage felt like a home from home but in a superb location, having stayed in many cottages Finnans Byre stood out as easily the best..
We have had a wonderful stay at Ard Choille. The property had everything we needed for a week and the sunroom boasted beautiful views which were ever changing due to the weather in Skye.
We had the most wonderful two nights at Bonn Na Cnoc. Such a beautiful place, very spacious, very true to the description and pictures provided. It had every amenity we could possibly want. We loved the location. We will hope to stay here on any and all returning trips to Skye.
Lovely comfortable accomodation and great hosts. The sun room is an added bonus and the perfect place to unwind and take in the great views.
We have been to the Taobh na Mara for the fifth time and are still thrilled. Everything is perfect: Cottage, view, location, atmosphere! It's our 40th holiday in Scotland and we have been to many cottages. Nothing compares to this one. Add to that the light on the Isle of Skye is fantastic. We plan to return.
We’ve a very very pleasant stay in Alderburn 1. The location is just marvellous and the house very comfortable: Everything you would need -and more- is there! The heating was pre-programmed and 1 radiator of the master bedroom had a broken thermostatic valve. This caused a high temperature in the room when going to bed. Later this is handled by a plumber: perfect. The communication with both the owner and Islands and Highlands Cottages was always very good and with quick response. A perfect location for a potential future trip to Skye.
We stayed for one week with our children and friends with their children. The house was beautiful, with a great view, and great setup for big groups (4 rooms, 5 bathrooms) with a big kitchen (including two dishwashers which were really useful)! The view on the sea was great, as well as the fire place. The jacuzzi was a real plus to relax after a hike. The location was very convenient to explore the isle of Skye. Communication was very friendly, professional and efficient.
Lovely chalet, lovely position. Well equipped and comfortable. only drawback is lack of enclosed garden for dog owners. We had a relaxing stay.
An Caladh is a very well-equipped cottage to a high standard. The views all round are outstanding, especially to Macleods Tables to the west. The cottage has wild moorland all round it and we particularly liked the profusion of wild spotted and butterfly orchids within the garden fence, as well as the wild birds to watch, such as local short-eared owl. The best walk nearby is to Harlosh headland for some wonderful sea views. Also Dunvegan, the tidal island of Oronsay and the coral beaches are not very far away. Overall we enjoyed a very quiet and peaceful week exploring the NW part of Skye a...more
Very modern and comfortable cottage in a quiet location overlooking the sea. The house has a lot of natural daylight and is very well equipped with quality furniture and crockery. From every room, you have the feeling of being in nature, you can watch the sheep pass in front of the house. It is the perfect cottage for a short break or holiday on Skye.
We all enjoyed our stay at Tarradale Cottage and particularly the location which was exactly as described - it was however expensive as we visited in high season.
Tigh Anndra is a beautifully equipped cottage for a couple. We have been twice and just love the wilderness of the cottage, just sweeping views of the mountains. It is a special place for us, watching the swallows fly and the sheep come and go across from the moor. There is a handy bus service that can get you to Portree and Uig. We liked the lack of wifi. It gave us time to truly disconnect. Thank you Angus for our stay.
The cottage is well located for exploring Skye. Sleeps six comfortably and has all the necessities for day to day life.Good beds, bathrooms(2) all the kitchen equipment and a large lounge, Have no hesitation in recommending this cottage
I didn't believe a place like this existed! Modern, comfortable, technological, sustainable... the fjord and the entire island are exceptional and with a reference point like this Cottage it's incredible!!! As a Photographer I made the most of the location and the entire island by photographing the Milky Way and the Northern Lights of August 13, 2024 from the porch of the Cottage! Grazie, grazie, grazie!!!!
We spent some lovely days on Skye. The location of the house is beautiful. The furnishings are a bit old, the dryer was broken and the washing machine was very dirty. We really liked the large sofas with a view of the sea. The access is a bit difficult, you have to move pylons to the side twice and open two gates and close them after driving through. It wasn't a problem for us because one of us always had to walk the whole way to do everything, but it's worth knowing. The contact with the agency was very good and inquiries were always answered very quickly. Thank you very much, we would rent...more
Tidal cottage is a lovely place to stay for a few days, very peaceful. We saw otters in front of the cottage on a nightly basis.
Everything was even better than we hoped. All items in the cottage worked. The view was outstanding and the location allowed for easy travel all around the island.
The house itself was perfect. It was secluded, peaceful with the most amazing views over the loch. You never needed to leave the house... although of course we did. It was perfectly situated for day trips over the north of the island. The only disappointing thing was having to leave.
Nice location with a lot of space. We enjoyed staying there to make a lot of hiking. The house is confortable with quiet surroundings. Garden would need some more care and a view on the loch from the house would be wonderful. Thank you for this pleasant stay.
This is an absolutely beautiful house, spotlessly clean and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The view from the breakfast table is amazing and whilst we didn’t get the weather to truly appreciate it, the scenery around is amazing. Within walking distance to a good beach and a brilliant little community cafe.
We had a great time in the cottage! The owner is very friendly and accommodating, and the property is perfect for two people. The location couldn't be better, either -- just a short 5-10 minute walk to all the stores and restaurants in Portree, and being there means that even the farthest places on the island are within an hour's drive. I honestly cannot think of a single negative thing to say about the whole experience.
Our family enjoyed our stay at Achnacloich cottage which was nice, spacious and equipped with all the modcons for a family of 6 (including an infant).
Everything was comfortable, but the heating didn't work during two days and the cleanliness of the dishes could be better.
We enjoyed our stay at Alan’s house. It is in a great location and has a wonderful view of Staffin Bay. The house is well stocked with all the amenities that you need. We were fortunate to see an amazing sunset on our first night staying here. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Isle of Skye.
This is the third time we have stayed here and we adore the cottage. The position is glorious and it is very homely. We particularly love the big, light kitchen.
The old school house is a quiet location by the sea shore, feeling relax & comfortable. Good spacious & clean
Our third time staying here. As always, very comfortable, very clean and a great place to relax and take in the stunning scenery. Beds are fantastic! A good, central location for exploring the island.
We had a really nice time at the cottage. The view out of the cottage was stunning. The cottage itself was clean and well-equipped. Unfortunately, there was mold on the wall in the bed and living room. The location of the cottage was ideal to explore the nothern Part of the Isle of Skye. The way to the South East is quite long.
A very well equipped appartment near the center of Portree. A good selection of games and literature about Skye is also provided.
Just wee dust on the windows but all the beds towels and toilets were clean and some spots and some of the kitchen's wear handle broken but there were all everything you need. The cottage were so cosy and good funtionality. The location was great. we loved it. Thanks
Our first trip to Torrin was back in 2011 and we vowed to return to this beautiful accommodation having had the best holiday of our lives. It’s now 2024 and my kids now young adults were more than delighted with the updates to the accommodation, the extension with views out to loch Slapin and an overall feeling of light and space within the extension but without losing any of its charm. My now adult children pointed out the wooden beams in the kitchen and can clearly remember them being part of the then living room. It really was a trip down memory lane thinking back. The cottage is so wel...more
Great base to visit / travel to all of skye. Lovely spot with nice neighbours and 5 mins to ammenities and supermarket. All good. Especially loved being woken up by the golden eagle in the tree outside with amazing views across skye. Cannot recommend enough.
Florrie's is a very comfortable holiday home. A lovely bed, a beautiful bathroom, a comfortable sofa, a well-equipped kitchen, a beautiful view over the bay and also a garden. Very cosy!
We found Ewen's House to be a great value and excellent out-of-the-way base of operations for exploring the Trotternish area, with just a superb view of the Quiraing right out the front window. But do not make the same mistake I did and overlook the fact that there is no WiFi (if you need WiFi). The property manager(s) are very helpful/responsive to any questions/problems that might arise.
We had a lovely week staying in the cottage. It had everything we needed, including a very useful dryer for when the weather was a bit damp! The enclosed garden was excellent for our energetic dog, with a wonderful view across the water to the next peninsula. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for us all. The location might be a little remote for some people, but we really appreciated the peace and quiet, when the rest of the island was busy with summer visitors. There are good walks from the door, and excellent tea and cake at the Yurt Cafe just down the road. The owner ca...more
We have had a good week at 21 Upper Edinbane. The cottage is well equipped and cosy. Perfect for if you have a wet and windy week which is what we had. Yes be aware if your tall this may not be suitable due to stairs (ladder) and shower bath. Otherwise a great cottage.
Nice little house very well located and perfect for two people. The sleeping room was quite damp upon arrival, but the de-humidifier did the trick. Some time after switching it on, all was fine.
This is a very comfortable modern house, well appointed with 3.5 bathrooms, 3 double bedrooms and a study/single room. It's well furnished and decorated in a slightly bland Highland style The location is good but the views are a bit limited especially when compared to other parts of Skye. There are some slightly over-complicated instructions for the rubbish - this should be taken care of by the cleaners/ owners. The only negative is the cost - it is very expensive for what it is.
I have stayed many times at the Stationmaster's House but this is the first privately. Good accommodation and location.
10 Torrin is a renovated open plan croft house in a location that can only be described as delightful, in the lush meadows of Torrin township below the Red Cuillin mountains, with the shores of Loch Slapin within easy walking distance. The location is ideal for hill walking, with stunning Bla Bheinn and the Red Cuillin on the doorstep, as well as lots of local low level walks. The house itself is well equipped and has plenty of room for 4, and was clean and tidy upon arrival. Unfortunately the shower broke the week before our stay, but we were informed beforehand and were offered a full refun...more
Ideal base for the 4 of us exploring Skye. Quiet location with lovely views of some sheep in a field. It’s a very basic cottage which was fairly clean upon arrival but the current website photos need updated- the garden is now overgrown & there are only 3 garden chairs. Stains on some carpets & dishes needed washed prior to using. No space to dry wet jackets etc & no coat pegs. Vacuum cleaner & brush etc all kept out in the sitting room/vestibule area which was un sightly. A welcome pack would have been much appreciated upon arrival. A few simple improvements are needed to make this 5 star!
The condition of the cottage needs maintenance. Doors en windows don't close or open properly. But the view and environment are breathtaking.we had a lovely week at Alt Slapin
Nice location . Loads of space inside with everything you needed . Could do with outside seating , one old flaky bench at the front door , grass overgrown and an old fridge freezer outside not nice to look at. Would have been very piecfull if it weren’t for the 2 dogs constantly barking next door.
We visited this part of Skye 10 years ago, but stayed at a lovely nearby hotel. We love the area and were so pleased to have a well-equipped, well-managed cottage in the area. We've traveled extensively, and few vacation homes have the "right" assortment of features that make it seamless for short-term stays. And, this place takes safety seriously with detectors and fire extinguishers and blanket - the passive elements that you hope are never needed but are there. It was a delightful stay - only improvement would be having rain-free days!
The cottage needs a renovation, especially for that price. Besides wonderful looks it is situated quite far away from the main areas of Sky. Just Dunvegan Castle is nearby.
Very tidy cottage, cozy living area, well equipped kitchen and serviceable bathroom. The location of the house by the water, while still just off the main road, means you get to enjoy the beautiful surrounding coastal landscape (with a great view of Scalpay to boot) all the while having no trouble getting back on the road to see the sights of Skye. A short (10 minute) drive to Broadford to get your shopping done and you can easily retreat back to the quiet of the cottage to settle down with a book on the comfortable couches. There are quite some DVDs for younger children available should the w...more
