My wife and I - along with our grown-up son - had the most wonderful stay in 10 Husabost in August 2022. It was one of those rare occasions when our accommodation turned out to be even nicer than it had appeared in the photographs online: it was well-equipped, tastefully and comfortably furnished, light, airy and spacious, and had lovely views; yet it was also so brilliantly insulated and cleverly heated that we always felt snug. The location, too, was magical, with views through trees and fields to the loch. On a couple of occasions we had red deer grazing next to the house. In this quiet, co...more
Lovely comfortable, well equipped cottage in the perfect location. Warm welcome from Ena and Angus, lovely people. Will definitely be back.
We had a lovely stay at the cottage and we were very impressed with the cleanliness and location.Everything we needed was provided and we look forward to staying again.Thank you for making our stay a great one.
Maz and Kyle presented the property in immaculate condition. Superb location; very well appointed facilities and loads of space. A great place to relax and switch off.
According to the visitor book, we were only the third couple to stay at Finnan's Byre. We thought it was an absolutely superb conversion and we had real difficulty leaving it at all! The design, construction, furnishings and equipment were all top quality and everything that you could possibly want in a holiday rental had been included. the living area with massive picture windows looking over the loch was fantastic and we literally spent hour just sitting there gazing at the scene. As well as being super-comfortable, the property felt ultra-modern and contemporary, which was a great combinati...more
The Mill is a beautiful house with lots of character. Absolutely everything we needed was provided and we felt very much at home. The house was warm, It was very clean, there’s lots of space and the showers were great - important after a long day walking! Seamus and Maggie gave us a lovely welcome and were very kind. The location is great. It was lovely to walk down to the shore of the beautiful bay at sunset and look out for the otters and seals. It’s very close to so many beautiful places in Skye including the falls of Rha, the fairy glen, and the Quairang. It made a great base...more
Lovely cottage, lovely location, lovely views. We had a great time. I would really recommend this cottage
A very comfortable house with beautiful views of the countryside, but conveniently located near Broadford. A great house for large groups of people due to the single beds, multiple bathrooms and large living-room and dining room.
6 Herbusta is in a great location, quiet but convenient for the Trotternish Peninsula, lots of things to do in Trotternish, Portree not too far. The cottage is very clean and tidy, thanks to the caretakers who are also very helpful, should you need to contact them, it is warm and very spacious, and has good facilities. Wifi worked well. Good local shop Rankins in Uig for all things, food, milk etc.
The Chalet hast a fantastic view at the sea. It is perfekt to relax and have some hiking tours in the surrounding Nature.
We loved every minute of it. It was value for the money and the owners were very nice and helpful. Very clean and tidy.
The cottage was prefect for our needs with everything in place and a stunning scenic view of "The Cullin" from the porch area. The cottage is in the perfect location as near to Portree and also within easy distance of the Trotternish region which is a stunning area to visit for scenery, wildlife viewing, trout fishing, fantastic walks and of course "Old Man Of Storr" - loved it!
We had a great stay here in Portree. Nice little wooden cottage at the top of the city(better if you have a car). Everything was clean, cozy and spacious. We definitely recommend this place.
Warm, clean, cosy. We loved our stay and we’re particularly pleased with the very well equipped kitchen!
Good location, very convenient for exploring the island. Nice house, lots of space. There was no info pack in the house, not a big problem but meant that we didn’t have info on practical stuff like rubbish/recycling.
Great accommodation, well equipped, ever changing views as the tide gentle comes in and out. Good location for exploring the north of Skye and easy access to Portree and a large Coop. Would happily return.
Our stay at One Mill Lands on the stunning Isle of Skye was wonderful. Communication from the point of booking to arrival was streamlined and efficient. The house was as described - ‘A Dream Home’. It was extremely comfortable and well equipped and suited all of our needs as a large family, including a variety of ages. We would have no hesitancy in recommending this home to future visitors and have already recommended to friends and family members. A real gem on a beautiful island.
We really enjoyed our stay at 14 Upper Milovaig.. The weather was challenging, but the property was very snug and comfy and a great place to watch the weather. It was also great for the walks we managed to do, as well as Neist Point as well as being well placed for good restaurants (The Dunvegan and Three Chinmeys were both excellent). The property was very clean and had everything you might need. The main living room was fantastic, very comfortable, with great views!!! Bathrooms were also excellent. It was also easy to dry wet walking gear. Just one thing, the double bed is small. It might ha...more
Fantastic cottage. We had 6 guys in here for a week doing some mountaineering up on the Cuillin Hills. It is a really nice place, we are repeat customers from the year previous. 1 - The shower is weak, not what you want after a day on the hill. 2 - I would like a number so that I could inform the owners that I was leaving a day early, this would doubtless help them and make me feel happier about leaving the key in the agreed place but hardly secure. That is all I can think to drip about, we will book in next year.
This was our first trip to Skye and although it rained almost continuously, was immensely enjoyable due to the high quality of the cottage and it’s furnishings. There are lots of spectacular walks and viewing points close by, in particular, Duntulm castle and the walk at Rubha Hunish.
We loved staying at this comfortable and very clean, cute cottage. The big bay windows let in tons of light and it was a hop and a skip to the beautiful beach. It’s perfect for a couple, it was so much better than staying at an impersonal hotel!
The Steading is a fabulous property and the location is excellent, we love it. We would have given all 5’s but unfortunately the beds are very uncomfortable and the mattresses could do with upgrading and replacing along with the duvets in the twin room, as the feathers slide to the bottom of them. All three sofas could do with upgrading and replacing as the material is frayed on the arms of one and all are well past their best looks and comfort wise. The property is very clean and the kitchen is very well equipped, could do with some plastic type chopping boards as wooden not always ...more
Everything we wanted. Delightful and helpful owners, wonderful week. Everything was extremely clean and tidy Thank you.
A most beautiful house in the most stunning location. Great accommodation with superb facilities and it's in an ideal location for every kind of activity from hill walking and sailing to dining out in the finest choice of restaurants anywhere, although the house does have a splendid kitchen for preparation of meals in! Very comfortable, perfect property and ideal for a large group.
Comfortable, warm and modern house in a beautiful location. The house was well-equipped (more so than many holiday lets we have stayed in) with comfy beds and a good selection of books and games. It could have been cleaner if I'm completely honest. However, on the whole, a great house which was good value for money. We'd definitely return.
Lovely, comfortable cottage in an excellent location and perfect for getting about the island. Well equipped and clean, everything you could need is provided by thoughtful hosts who live nearby and run the adjacent gallery and cafe. Highly recommended.
It was perfect. Everything you could want was provided. Great location. Well stocked kitchen. Very comfortable home!!
Perfect views over the sea, house was super clean and beds very comfortable. Minimalistic style but everything we needed. Lady next door was very helpful and offered advice re walks etc which was a lovely welcome.
3 bed cottage with well equipped kitchen and plenty of living space. Comfortable beds! Homely environment with plenty of local art displayed on the walls. The hosts have prepared well and our suggestion for a clothes rack (rather than using the tumble dryer) was acted on within a day! Mobile phone signal was not available in the cottage but that suited me fine. I was on holiday. Hubby managed to set up Wi-Fi calling on his phone. Highly recommended!
There's is much about Tidal Cottage to like. The location is very nice and the owners are very friendly and helpul. However, for us it was lacking a bit in comfort. The bed was too small for us and the dining table and chairs are small and basic. The bathroom on the other hand is excellent. The kitchen is sparsely equipped although all appliances are there. WIFI is available but not very fast.
Enkele aandachtspunten: De koelkast erg aan de kleine kant. Er zijn te weinig pannen. Jammer dat er geen Wifi is, want het bereik van de telefoon op die plaats is erg beperkt.
Wonderful place for two people. It is close to Portree, a little difficult to find, and is in a good location as a base for seeing around Skye. It is a bit expensive but it has everything you would probably want. Plenty of space and great facilities, including a sauna.
There was so much to see and experience on Skye this was enhanced by living in a traditional cottage in a wonderful location. Overall everything was made perfect with so many good memories. Highly recommended. Comfortable, 5Star good value for money. 5Star Well maintained 5Star Good location 5Star Condition 5Star
Lovely cottage in a really good location. Fabulous views from the living room which is light and airy with lovely big windows looking east. If there is a good sunrise it's fantastic. Well equipped cottage although a few more glasses and cups would probably help a larger group. A chest of drawers in the main bedroom would be more useful than the old sofa and updating the dark furniture in the second bedroom would give it a brighter feel. However, these are minor points and I'd go back to this cottage without hesitation. It's comfortable, spacious, bright, easy to reach and to access other parts...more
Beautiful location. Sitting room view is stunning. Very comfortable and clean and would happily return. We loved our time on Skye. Just a couple of things that need to be mentioned. We had to buy a bigger saucepan in a charity shop in Portree, which we left in the house for future guests. The three that were available were very small and inadequate to prepare a meal for three. There were also only 2 dessert spoons. We have to mention the Wi-Fi. There simply isn’t any. Sharing next doors just doesn’t work and we felt standing outside their house was too intrusive. The instructions fo...more
We arrived and noted they where doing work on the small harbour, quite loud bangs . We had to clean the fridge freezer . Linen was good beds very comfortable, in all we there was a few issues, hopefully they will address these .we were compensated which we thank them for .
Very warm welcome and a great time at the isle of Skye Portree is a nice town with all you need
Superb cottage with everything you need for a peaceful break.Very airy with lots of space and well thought out design, which is a key factor for my daughter who is autistic.Great location with a lovely bay within walking distance. Looking forward to staying again. Thank you.
Our week in the “wee yellow house” was the highlight of our tour of the highlands. Good location, easy to walk into Portree for restaurants, boat trips, etc, or to drive elsewhere, especially the nearby Trotternish Peninsula which is awesome! Warm welcome from our helpful host, friendly without being intrusive. Careful instructions in place about how everything worked. The house was warm and cosy inside with excellent power showers, and the garden equipped to sit outside on the sunny days, all we needed to relax!
A beautiful home in the most glorious setting. Owner was the absolute BEST in helping me with one issue I had (my fault). Beautiful lawn and gardens. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing!! A total joy, it was a memorable four generation of women trip of a lifetime.
Half of our family group stayed here, in the quietest part of Plockton. It’s a very pretty cottage, tastefully and comfortably furnished and the spacious kitchen was ideal. It overlooks a creek and has a safe, small fenced garden over the lane at the front with a table and benches. We loved it.
Heerlijk huis mét alle comfort om er een week te kunnen verblijven. En in een hele mooie omgeving! We hebben ervan genoten!
8 Kildonan is an amazing location, we had a great time in this beautiful house. Interiors are decorated with great style, the view is amazing, I cannot recommend enoug!
We had a great stay at the Lighthouse apartments in Portree. The apartment was much bigger than we expected, very cozy, well equipped, in a fantastic spot just on the edge of downtown. We stayed for 5 days, but wish we had more time there. Great home-base location for hiking / climbing / enjoying the downtown for dinner and drinks. Also, the cozy living room was welcomed and a few nights, we just cozied up and watched a movie, which was a nice break after hitting the mountains / pubs. Thank you! Would love to stay again as soon as possible! The hosts are incredibly nice and accomidating...more
Fabulous stay again at glen end scale weather mixed but the house was warm clean and comfy so a lovely welcome after a long drive and days out in the weather. This house has great location and we are grateful to have found it and after 8 stays is like a home from home. :)
Beautiful cottage in the perfect setting. We loved being able to walk straight out the cottage to the beach. It was really quiet with lovely views. The cottage itself was perfect. Warm, comfortable, clean and very spacious. The utility room was brilliant for drying all our stuff after a day out in the rain.
A lovely quiet location, only 2 minute to the shore. Seals aplenty! Lots of birds etc. The croft is typically small but everything you need is within it. A fantastic break for us. I would certainly return here. Everyone we met in Skye were extremely friendly and welcoming....so refreshing.
uitstekend. prima locatie loop afstand van Portree mooi vertrek punt voor te maken trips als je echt lekker willt eten ROYAL HOTEL we hebben alles geprobeerd, dit steekt met kop en schouders boven uit.
Evans house is a nice little place, with a brilliant view and good location if you want to explore the north parts of Skye. It has everything you need and the comfort is ok.
Lovely views, relatively remote and secluded - perfect if you are looking to truly get away from it all. Lovely local walks and outstanding service and assistance from IH Cottages as always.
We had a lovely week staying in the cottage. It had everything we needed, including a very useful dryer for when the weather was a bit damp! The enclosed garden was excellent for our energetic dog, with a wonderful view across the water to the next peninsula. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for us all. The location might be a little remote for some people, but we really appreciated the peace and quiet, when the rest of the island was busy with summer visitors. There are good walks from the door, and excellent tea and cake at the Yurt Cafe just down the road. The owner ca...more
We had a lovely stay at the cottage, we loved the cosy rooms and the view. The cottage provides everything you need. Skye is a magical island and there is lot to explore, it would be great to rent this cottage again !
We stayed at 1/2 of 12 for 2 nights. It was meant to be 3. The house itself is in a stunning spot, basic but clean and warm. Friendly owner and in a very peaceful. We had to leave early as the road that leads to it does not get gritted or cleared and bad weather meant we were stuck for two days and unable to see anything of the island. Strongly recommend taking a 4x4 if you have, snow shovel and plenty food if you are staying in winter/spring as it’s remote.
I have stayed many times at the Stationmaster's House but this is the first privately. Good accommodation and location.
Unfortunately we arrived to find this cottage had not been cleaned well, if at all. We’ve stayed at many dog friendly cottages and this was the first one where it was evident dogs had stayed here. There was black dog hair throughout the cottage… flooring, bedding and even the cutlery drawer. Arriving on our first night, I had to hoover the cottage a few times. The hoover was full on arrival and the suction wasn’t great which explained why the floor was so dirty. We arrived on a Saturday which meant no one was available to send a hoover until Monday. Even after leaving a voicemail, no-one con...more
Quiet cottage in a central position to explore the island. Only down side was that there was no WIFI and it wasn't rectified in the two weeks we were there.
Solas was a lovely home, just outside portree. Very pleasant stay the beds we super lush, the only thing would of been nice would of been a hot tub thays just our opinion though, the location & views were amazing definitely would return in heartbeat.
We have stayed in this cottage before in 2017 and liked it so we booked it again. This time we were appalled, this property should never have been rented in this condition. There was black mold in some spots in the house that hasn't even been cleaned up yet. The walls were also partially wet. There was a dehumidifier in a corner of the eat-in kitchen, but no one took care of it. We had to empty the tank every day. This also shows how much moisture is present in the house. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired this time.
This was about our 5th visit to 10 Torrin and for good reason. Cosy, clean and comfortable bang smack amongst some of Skye's most outstanding terrain. Couldn't ask for more and look forward to returning again in the future.
Nice roomy older style house, great value on otherwise expensive Isle of Skye, and with a view to die for. Location, location...
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Loved enclosed garden with such lovely views. Great for seeing Skye and Raasay.
A traditional cottage with lovely views to the Outer Hebrides in a very peaceful location. Other cottages are dotted around but it is not a village. Make sure you bring all the food etc you need as there is no shop within walking distance. It is very quiet and we hardly saw anyone. The 2 bedrooms are large, bright and have wonderful views: bedrooms are comfortable with plenty storage space. There is a king size bed in one room; the other room has a double bed and also a single bed. Good for a family. One bathroom which was very clean. Kitchen and living / dining area area is one open pla...more
