Tidal Cottage, Lower Breakish, is a very stylish cottage with direct access to the shore of Broadford Bay. It has stunning views and perfectly placed for dramatic sunsets! With a flowing interior leading you to the double bedroom and large ensuite bathroom, it is light yet cosy. Ideally located for exploring the whole of the Isle of Skye, Raasay, Lochalsh and Glenelg.

There's is much about Tidal Cottage to like. The location is very nice and the owners are very friendly and helpul.
However, for us it was lacking a bit in comfort. The bed was too small for us and the dining table and chairs are small and basic. The bathroom on the other hand is excellent.
The kitchen is sparsely equipped although all appliances are there.
WIFI is available but not very fast.

A fabulous and very comfortable cottage with spectacular views - one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in! Good location on Skye and it had a very homely feel.

Our second stay at Tidal Cottage was magical again. Wonderful location, views to die for and a very cosy cottage to spend a wonderful Christmas. Tidal Cottage definitely gave us the fantastic festive season we hoped for and we will definitely be back.

Tidal Cottage is in a fantastic location with views of the Red Cuillins, Scalpay and Loch Carron from the front windows and garden. The only sounds at night were the distant cries of the birds on the estuary, lulling us to sleep.
The cottage is well positioned for access to all parts of South Skye and beyond. The local village of Broadford is only about 5 minutes drive for shops and Restaurants. The Cottage is immaculately decorated, furnished and equipped with everything you would need in holiday accommodation.

Cute traditional white washed cottage that has been fully modernised and is well equipped, including washing machine and dishwasher. Perfect for a couple with a spacious and open plan layout and stairs that lead straight up to a very comfortable double bedroom and large bathroom with separate large shower cubicle.

The location is fantastic as you are within touching distance of the water and with a south westerly aspect enabling you to catch the sun throughout the day and enjoy beautiful sunsets.

Whilst it is a fairly rural and peaceful spot down a quiet lane, you are only a couple of miles from the spread out centre of Broadford, which has a number of restaurants and cafes and a decent size Co-op to enable you to stock up on groceries (and wine!).

It is also only a few miles to the Skye bridge for easy access to the mainland. Dunvegan and the Totternish and Waternish peninsulas are around an hour's drive.

I do have a couple of minor criticisms, however. Wifi is quite slow. The TV could do with upgrading as picture quality isn't great and its very small. The two thin bath towels and single tea towel were inadequate for two people for a one week stay and I had to purchase some washing powder so I could wash them halfway through our stay. Whilst the cottage has underfloor heating we couldn't feel any benefit from it. Fortunately we had mostly good weather for our stay so it wasn't a problem but in winter you would need to use the wood burner. This means you need to factor in buying quite a lot of wood as there is only enough supplied for one evening.

We note the comments in this review but would point out what seems to be a misunderstanding regarding the underfloor heating. It is thermostatically controlled and therefore would not come on if, as you say it was warm weather. We regularly have guests staying in the height of winter who have never complained of the Cottage being too cold. Indeed, they often remark as to how cosy it is. The wood stove is not intended to be a necessary part of the heating system, but more an aesthetic feature. Many guests don’t even light the stove. A glance at our reviews from Winter guests in November through to February reveals it is invariably described as cosy. I refer to one in December 2014 specifically which I would invite you to read.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Tidal Cottage for our honeymoon. The cottage was very well equipped, comfortable, cosy and really nicely presented. Many of the windows have amazing views out over the bay, including from the roll top bath!
We hope to stay again, perhaps during the summer next time, so we can enjoy having a bbq outside and making the most of the beautiful views on an evening!

We had a wonderful stay at Tidal Cottage. It was a cosy retreat, perfect for us, with a view to die for. We loved the location of the cottage and the owner was very friendly.

The only (slight) niggle for us was there wasn't a tumble drier which meant it was difficult for us to dry our wet walking gear and washing due to the bad weather. But this did not stop us loving our stay and we would love to return to Tidal Cottage one day.
