Wonderful stay - lovely comfortable cottage which had everything we needed. Great location and views - really felt we were away from it all but only a ten minute drive to Broadford for supplies. Fab tearoom (Amys Place) within 5 mins walk with the best cakes ever! Lots great walking on the doorstep.

Traditional croft, great location.

Traditional cottage in a wonderful location with superb views, access to local walks and a great base for exploring the island. Plenty of space for 3. Comfortable and well equipped. Generally well decorated, but could just do we sprucing up in a few areas.

We had a very nice stay at 10 Torrin, the house is very comfortable and well equipped. The village of Torrin is itself a bit appart from the main touristic sites witch provides for quietness.

This was about our 5th visit to 10 Torrin and for good reason. Cosy, clean and comfortable bang smack amongst some of Skye's most outstanding terrain. Couldn't ask for more and look forward to returning again in the future.

Been to 10 Torrin quite a few times
Scenery and location breathtaking.

The house has everything you need and landlord is really helpful.

Islands and Highland were great and helped with the additional enquiries.

It is a super nice cottage and it is exactly where I want it to be, It was a wonderful week and I will be inspired by the impressions of the landscape and the island for a long time to come. I will book it again anytime. Maybe next year ... I have rented many cottages over the years... this one is one of the best for me....

We had a lovely stay in the traditional cottage . It was a little tired but position and value for money was excellent.

Cosy cottage in beautiful location
Spectacular views of the Cuillins
Just a short 20 minute drive to Broadford to get supplies
Track to the house was a bit rough and a few potholes to navigate
Kitchen cupboards and oven would benefit from a deep clean but generally a nice warm, well equipped, pretty cottage and we had a lovely holiday there

Ideal for us, but....

A lovely open plan cottage, ideal for a couple or a small family, but not for small children due to the staircase. Views of a mountain, a short walk from Loch Slapin, lunch available at Amy's Place a short walk away. No dishwasher.

The property is in a fantastic location. Check in was easy and parking for 2 cars very accessible.
The cottage has everything you need but being brutally honest it is tired. The cleanliness (especially the additional building) was suspect. The outbuilding had full cupboards so little storage, had a wasp nest on the entry and had lots of spiders & cobwebs everywhere as it hadn’t been cleaned.
Despite these shortfalls we had a fantastic base to explore and the property was good value for money.

Spent a week at 10 Torrin during the best week of weather we could have asked for.
Cottage set in some truly stunning scenery but with the added convenience of Broadford just 15 minutes drive away. Cottage was warm and comfortable with everything we needed - couldn't have asked for more.
We loved it so much we are already trying to find a date to return!

Traditional croft house in great location, but could do with a little investment!

Traditional croft house set between Broadford and the Cullin Hills, and brilliantly placed for a day out to Elgol and a boat trip to Loch Coruisk. The accomodation had most of what you would expect/need but could benefit from a deep clean and a little investment.

All furniture and facilities are very basic, The shower handle was broken and replaced with some kind of screw. The picnic table outside was also broken and couldn't be used. If anything there was too much crockery/cutlery and most of it required cleaning before use. I woud guess that the whole place isn't looked after on a personal level and maybe just gets a quick spruce by a letting company between guests.

That said, once settled, we found it both comfortable and warm.

Note: Gaining access to the keys to enter the property requires a code, while the information we were initially sent indicated a specific location where they could be found. Perhaps this process has changed in recent times? However, as there is no signal at the house, we had to travel back towards Broadford to access email and find these newer instructions. Hopefully going forward, only the correct instructions will be sent out.

All in all, reasonable value for money... the property provided an adequate upmarket hostel sort of feel and with that in mind is probably fine for most hikers who are use to that kind of accomodation, but perhaps not the property you would choose if you intend to relax at the place itself.

Brilliant location, exactly what we wanted. I really liked the house too, and looked as pictures suggested.
We were a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the house. There were still dog hairs on some of the chairs in particular, so we had to get the hoover out ourselves and clean up a bit. When we did use the hoover, it really smelled of 'dog' so didn't exactly fill the house with the freshest of aromas.
I think next time, I would stay in something more expensive where you are more likely to have a really clean and hygienic place.

10 Torrin is a lovely cosy cottage in a great location! The cottage is a 5-10 minute walk to Loch Slapin and fabulous views of Blaven.
The cottage is well equipped and lovely and warm. We had everything we needed including extra blankets (and electric blankets if we’d needed them.)
Six of us stayed and we paid extra to use the Byre (which meant we had two toilets and showers). There was a big table for eating and for evenings playing games.
The cottage has good Wi-fi (two of our party taught virtual music lessons during our stay!). There was Sky TV (repaired during our stay as it hadn’t been working for the previous occupants) - we wouldn’t have watched it anyway! There is a DAB radio and a DVD player (but unlike most cottages there aren’t any DVDs so make sure you bring your own like we did). The beds were very comfortable and the showers were both powerful. The garden is semi-enclosed, so we kept our two labradors on leads. There is ample parking for two family sized cars and with careful parking we managed to park two small cars and a family car in the parking area.
Torrin is a great position to visit all parts of the island and was particularly good for the younger members of our group who climbed Blaven and several of the Cuillin Munro’s (including the Inaccessible Pinnacle (with a guide!). The walk to Camasunary Beach is nearby, as is the lovely walk up Beinn Na Cro (one of the red Cuillins which has 360degree views at the top). Elgol is a short drive away - we hoped to go on a boat trip from here, but the weather had other ideas! There are lots of nice places to eat, but due to Covid19 you need to book in advance. We had lovely meals at the Red Skye in Broadford and Seumas’ bar at Sligachan Hotel. The fish and chip shop in Broadford does amazing take away meals. There’s also a really good pizza place there too.
The staff at Highlands & Islands were always quick to answer messages and find answers for us. The owner of the cottage was also really helpful (via the cottages Facebook Page).

A perfect crofters cottage for a perfect location in the Isle of Skye. The cottage is surrounded by the Cuillins and Blavin with a loch at the bottom of the village. The cottage is well equipped and feels spacious yet cosy.
The cottage is warm and the central heating and/or open fire are perfect for warmth and drying clothes.
As the downstairs had laminate flooring it meant that we did not have to worry about muddy clothing/boots.
We loved it.

Torrin is a lovely place for a holiday and the house was comfortable and cosy for our week of unfortunately not so great weather. We all enjoyed the peace and quiet of the place but still felt like we were staying within a local community, with neighbours quite nearby, people working and even the great Blue Shed café to visit. The location is perfect for setting off in all directions to explore the area and the rest of Skye, and is so near the sea and mountains - it's beautiful. As four single adults and two children, we also used the barn as an extra bedroom and the sofa bed. Everyone was comfortable and cosy, although it was a bit tricky coming in with wet coats and boots etc. as there is no hall or much space to leave shoes, boots or even hang up wet coats, but the open plan living area works well apart from that.
The TV does not work at all - only for DVDs.(but that can be a good thing)
Our main problem was the lack of forks. As a party of 6 staying in a house for 6, we needed cutlery for 6.
There were only 4 forks, 2 wine glasses and 4 mugs, but....having asked the housekeeper for more, she did bring more of all these things on day 2 - thankyou. So that should all be sorted now - pity we had to eat our dinner with a spoon for the first 2 evenings. A few other necessities would have been good, like a ladle and a normal sized frying pan......but any previous review comments about keys etc. were not a concern at all. This is Skye after all - a very safe place.
We enjoyed the family history touches of the portrait and MacQueen tarten, especially as we had 3 McQueens in our party and the books, maps and info left on the shelf were very interesting.
We had a great holiday and enjoyed 10 Torrin very much.

We'd read previous reviews painting a rather dubious picture of the cottage, but it was fine.
It's cosy, comfy and fitted in with what we needed.
The location is good, not far outside Broadford with it's shop, garage, places to eat, a 15 minute walk to a lovely beach with seals
jus off shore.
The cottage was clean, the sofas were comfy, lovely big table & chairs. The kitchen could do with a big pasta pan, otherwise
pretty good equipment wise.
The wall wasn't wet during our stay, I know a previous reviewer mentioned this.
It's a holiday house, things won't be the same as your own home. We found nothing to moan about.
Skye is just beautiful, people were friendly, the ferry from Aramdale to Mallaig is worth taking.
We would happily stay at the cottage again.

Beautiful located cottage. Views on the red cuillin hills.
Unfortunately the cottage needs some improvement. There wasn't enough cutlery (forks) for 6 persons.
Vacuum cleaner didn't work. The sofa's were old (passed through)
Cleaning could be better (a lot of dust under the sofas)
Although the restrictions of the cottage, we had a great week on Skye. We enjoy the island very much.

Beautiful little house. It has everything you need for your holiday. Cleanliness could be better... The stonen wall in one of the rooms was completely wet! Impossible to sleep in this room... No satellite signal for television unfortunately. It could be much better if some of those points could be fixed...
