The cottage is very well maintained, we had everything we need for our stay. The location is great - close to Portree with tranquil surroundings. Will definitely return and recommend to family and friends.
5 Galtrigill is a lovely cottage and perfect if you are looking for a getaway from the beaten paths and tourist streams on Skye. The location is right at the end of the street so there is hardly any traffic. The property is furnished and decorated with care and love, not only a rental object but with personal touch of the owners. The house is comfy but has more than enough space with an exceptionally well equipped kitchen and all appliances you need. With enough supplies you could stay for months. Highlights are the living room with a fire place and the bathtub overlooking the coast and sea. T...more
We stayed for 5 nights and wish we could have extended our stay. Everything was nicely appointed - from the kitchen and pantry to the linens. The only thing we couldn't find was measuring spoons Kudos to the owners and property managers for such a nicely maintained holiday home!
Absolutely loved this cottage, and the location. A little piece of heaven. It's close to so many beautiful hikes, little museums, and the perfect getaway from the city life. Interior: Can't complain about a thing! The cottage decor is beautiful. The kitchen is well-stocked, having a washing machine is incredibly useful. Everything you need for your visit to the majestic Isle of Skye. Exterior: For visitors not familiar with croft/farm stays (including me), the cottage is set within a working farm, so, after you enter the first gate, you'll be (carefully) driving through sheep to get...more
We had a wonderful stay here! The location is absolutely stunning – it felt like we were at the end of the world, in the best possible way. The house itself is spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped. Our kids loved the selection of games inside, which made evenings together extra fun. It’s also a fantastic base for exploring the area, with so many activities within easy reach. We are grateful for the kind host, who even gave us tickets to the Highland Games – such a memorable highlight of our trip. We would love to return here again in the future!
Great location in Portree with groceries, restaurants, and shops right there. We were able to explore the island in all directions, and then enjoyed coming back to relax at the end of the day. It's also walking distance to the start of the Scorrybreac path with its gorgeous views. Having a parking spot right across the street was great. The house is on the main road with a lot of people stopping across the street to take photos of the view of the harbor, but it was surprisingly quiet inside the house, so we didn't notice, and we had the bonus of seeing the gorgeous and picturesque view of the ...more
We loved our stay at Loch Mealt View. The cottage is very well equipped, including a very complete kitchen. From the cottage you have a great view over the loch and the wildlife in the surroundings. Behind the cottage you can see the hills of Trotternish in the background. A truly unique spot!
This property exceeded our expectations, it felt so welcoming, and was probably the best equipped place we've ever stayed - it had almost everything you could think of! It was also the cleanest place we've ever stayed, and it's obvious that it's personally looked after by someone who really cares. The little headland on which it sits is stunning, you can walk down to the little pier, and also up out onto the deserted headland where it's just you and the cows - both stunning places from which to watch the sun set over the outer islands (as is the cottage for that matter). We 100% recommend t...more
This is one of the best cottage’s we stay in! It was so comfortable and clean and with the best views. Very welcoming and friendly, also very dog friendly. We loved that they gave us some dogs treats and biscuits for the dogs. Definitely recommend this place and definitely come back again in the future.
This place is the most stunning home, you can possibly book on the Isle of Skye. The house was incredible, and we loved every bit of it! The amazing bedrooms, with comfortable beds, and such a cozy and quiet atmosphere. The living room with the most stunning(!) view, overlooking Staffin Bay! We didn't get to see any wildlife, but had great fun looking at the boats coming in for the night. The large and incredibly well equipped kitchen, which made the otherwise boring dinner- and dishwashing chores so much fun. Looking out on the cute birds coming to eat on the bird-feeder. The house trul...more
Fairy Glen Cottage is ideally positioned for exploring the Isle of Skye; not far to go to Portree and Dunvegan and in easy walking distance to fairy glen. The cottage is exceptionally well-kept, clean and, like its owner Alex, welcoming. We love it and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Wish it could have been longer...
My family and I stayed in Cnoc a'Chonasg for a week - the cottage was absolutely perfect and we couldn't have wished for better. Spotlessly clean, very cosy, well appointed, and very comfortable it was a great place to come back to after a day spent exploring, or to spend the day hiding from bad weather. I loved the beautiful views from the living room windows - we even spotted an eagle. My kids loved playing in the garden, and there were some good walks from right by the cottage. It's in a great location - out of busy Portree, but not too far to pick up supplies, and on a main road so you don...more
The Mill was a very comfortable and clean place to stay. The property is very good equipped and has a good location to explore the Isle of Skye.
We felt very comfortable in Ruadh. We were given such a warm welcome by our landlord that we felt like family. The house was in perfect condition, clean, warm and cozy. We saw deer in the evening and rabbits in front of our house in the morning. We felt like it was our home. Our landlord was very friendly and available at any time. We love this house!
The house is beautiful, decorated with taste, has every possible amenity and gorgeous views. It is fully stocked with anything you could possible need, we loved it!
The property was everything we hoped for and more. The perfect location and an amazing view. We could walk to the restaurants, bakery, and grocery store in minutes. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed to cook light meals. There were easy hill walks very nearby. We highly recommend this location to anyone wishing to stay on Skye.
Although the house is close to Broadford for stores and restaurants, the location still feels remote enough to fully disconnect. So quiet and beautiful. We loved being able to take hikes from the house and it is a great location for exploring closeby Elgol and Torrin. We also ventured further afield up to Portree and Old Man of Storr, but it was great to get back to our peaceful house at the end of the day. Clean, Comfortable and spacious. We were sad to leave!!
The house is absolutely beautiful and situated in a stunning location with breathtaking views. It is tastefully furnished and has all the equipment one could possibly want. Great for a family vacation! The location is rather remote, we had to get used to the single lane traffic!
Located in a quiet spot along a little road, this bungalow has everything we wanted and more. From watching the wildlife out the front window to being able to go for walks along the coast, this is ideal for anyone who loves the great outdoors. Close enough to Portree to be accessible yet far enough to be unaffected, the location was perfect and the bungalow itself was clean, tidy and nicely presented.
Beautiful home, very clean in great location. The only things we would improve was having bigger pots and non-stick pans for cooking, having hot water availability for longer in the evenings, and softer beds or at least some beds with softer mattresses. Overall superb home for larger groups wishing to stay away from busier places. Very much enjoyed the stay and would recommend to family and friends and hope to return again. Bo
Very clean, well-equipped, spacious and cosy appartment in a wooden hut. Wonderful quiet garden. Easy self check-in. Walking distance to the town and harbour of Portree. Very lovely and helpful owners next door.
We have had a wonderful stay at Ard Choille. The property had everything we needed for a week and the sunroom boasted beautiful views which were ever changing due to the weather in Skye.
We had a lovely, peaceful time, surrounded with all possible conveniences. Only a ‘Welcome Pack’ might have made it even better.
This is the second time we’ve visited The Croft House and we enjoyed staying there just as much as the last time. The house was very clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. There’s a fabulous conservatory with views over the loch where you can sit and watch nature and the ever changing big skies. The large shed and drying room were very useful for bikes and wet hiking gear and there’s a good wood burning stove for those chilly nights. The hosts parents live close by and are on hand for anything you may need help with. We particularly liked the peaceful location, views,...more
We had a great stay at Alderburn. The cottage was perfect for our small group of family and friends and we definitely hope to make it back soon.
We have been to the Taobh na Mara for the fifth time and are still thrilled. Everything is perfect: Cottage, view, location, atmosphere! It's our 40th holiday in Scotland and we have been to many cottages. Nothing compares to this one. Add to that the light on the Isle of Skye is fantastic. We plan to return.
I stayed with my 8 friends and our dog and it was the most amazing house we could've picked. We loved the hot tub, the huge fridge freezer for all our cooking and the two dishwashers for clearing up afterwards. The beds were so comfy and each of us having an ensuite for our rooms was such a luxury. It was lovely to have our dog with us and we loved the view of the sunset from the house.
We stayed 3 nights at An Caladh and simply loved out stay. The cottage felt very much like home, with beautiful and simple decor, very comfortable living room with Netflix access that allowed us to just "chill" in comfort, stocked and ready-to-light wood fireplace, and clean and functional bathroom. Beds were very comfortable and linens were clean and comfy. The best was the extremely well-appointed kitchen, which wasn't lacking in anything needed to cook full meals. Location was remote (then again, all of Skye is remote! :-) with great views, and easy to get to all the key sights and acti...more
j'espère revenir un jour la maison. est bien située. avec une belle vue sur les montagnes et l'ile de skye
Tucked away in a very quiet village, this is an ideal base for getting round Skye . It had everything we needed and was very comfortable, with modern fittings and a fantastic view over the loch at the front. Shops in Portree are a 30 minute drive away, there is a pub next door.
Nice little chalet with every you need for a relaxing quiet holiday. Spectacular views of the Cuillins that changes as the sun sets.
Had a fab stay ,cottage very spacious clean and equipped with everything you need for a very enjoyable stay .Views across the garden to Isle of Rum are amazing and watching the sunset in the evening is unforgettable .
Our group of six spent three nights in Portree and stayed at the Tarradale Cottage. Absolutey LOVED IT! We didn't have a car, so we walked to the town square for dinner each night and it was a lovely walk with sidewalks the whole way. The view at the cottage is stunning! We had a problem with the toilet in one of the bedrooms, but they had it fixed promptly. I would stay there again if I ever get back there.
This was the fourth time we’ve stayed and while we were there we booked for next August. Two weeks. Never felt so at home in any holiday home. Never want to leave. It’s perfect.
The best part of our Scotland vacation. So beautiful. The chalet has everything you need. It is in the perfect location for day trips around Isle of Skye and the view from the front window is amazing.
Tigh Anndra is a beautifully equipped cottage for a couple. We have been twice and just love the wilderness of the cottage, just sweeping views of the mountains. It is a special place for us, watching the swallows fly and the sheep come and go across from the moor. There is a handy bus service that can get you to Portree and Uig. We liked the lack of wifi. It gave us time to truly disconnect. Thank you Angus for our stay.
Spent a lovely week at Ploughman’s cottage with our family of 3 kids aged 8 to 15. The cottage is well heated, comfortable and nicely decorated. Kitchen is well-equipped for home cooked meals. Edinbane has a great children’s playground, an inn (more restaurant than pub but you can also go just for a drink) and the award-winning Edinbane Lodge restaurant within a few minutes’ walk. It’s convenient for the Dunvegan area, Waternish and not too bad for walks in the north of the island, but a bit far for some of the other walks we did (about an hour to drive to the Fairy Pools or Glenbrittle car pa...more
Tidal cottage is a lovely place to stay for a few days, very peaceful. We saw otters in front of the cottage on a nightly basis.
This was a perfect place to stay when visiting the Isle of Skye. The location is central, very close to Portree for shopping and restaurants, and all of Skye’s attractions are easily reached by car. The accommodations and amenities were excellent, especially the glorious deep tub and rainfall shower after a long day of hiking! There were thoughtful touches throughout, such as a collection of games upstairs, and the binoculars beside the chair in the living room, perfect for taking in the amazing views. My only complaint would be that the bed was not a king as advertised - I think it was a quee...more
Second stay here, glad to return. House is clean and has everything. Kind host. Would highly recommend.
The house was in a stunning location. It was clean. However, the washing machine was not working. Could do with oven gloves and tea towels! Some new chopping boards and wooden spoons, as they were in poor condition.
This was the 3rd locaties we stayed at, during our roadtrip. So we could compare. It was a very nice place, with its own parkingspace. The rooms were spacious with its own bathroom. Nicely decorated and it felt like a home away from home. We will certainly stay here again when visiting this island. Certainly 5 * rating!!
9 Achnacloich was a beautiful and comfortable stay for three people. The kitchen was spacious and fully equipped, the rooms were nice and dark at night, and the underfloor heating was a great addition even in summer. The only surprises and disappointments were that, despite being double beds, they had two single blankets on them; the showers could be temperamental; and the check-in process was not as smooth as we hoped. (The check-in time is the same time that the office closes. I was given the wrong code to the key safe, so if not for a side door being unlocked we would not have been able ...more
My family and I stayed at Bay view bungalow for 3 nights and it was such a comfortable stay. The view from the property is gorgeous and the house had everything needed for a stay in with family. We had a lovely time
Old School provided us with an excellent location for our excursions on Skye. The views each day were spectacular, whether it was bright blue skies or cloudy. The accommodation was comfortable and clean, with a large lounge and dining area to sit in and play games in the evening after a busy day. A dip in the water outside was also refreshing!
We had a wonderful time staying at Tigh Na Dalach. The cottage is clean and perfectly furnished. We highly recommend staying there for a short or long term, we stayed 7 days and would have stayed longer without hesitation.
Check-in was smooth. Communication with the rental company was easy and quick. The apartment is nice and clean and serves as a good base for excursions. The kitchen is quite sparsely equipped, and the heaters are rather loud because there's a lot of air in the system. As a result, they are not very efficient in heating. The beds are very comfortable. We had a good time in the accommodation. We especially loved the loggia due to the beautiful view.
Location and view is very good. Cottage is cozy. Could be better: the couches are very low, the masterbed is very small, towels provided are not enough for a longer stay. We stayed 10 nights, had one small towel in the bathroom for all and two too big towels per person provided. When you wash yourself, it will need three days to dry (even in the summer). At first look it was clean. At second look (our dog played with his ball) it could be better to be honest. But there is a dust absorber in the utility room... A lot cars will pass the place to get to the beach. Customer service (i...more
Not easy to find after leaving the main road; directions could be improved. Steep path and steps down to cottage, not suitable for infants or the infirm. One storage heater switch not working, Velux blind in bedroom faulty. Leak under lavatory cistern. A few items could usefully be added to the kitchen. Dead insects inside one duvet cover. But: clean inside, warm, good views. I imagine tenants do not report faults so they are not rectified.
This little duplex was perfect for all of our needs while on Skye. While I noticed that it was located close to the water, it wasn’t clear that we actually had an idyllic view of the coast from the windows, not to mention being a quick 15 minute drive to the Quiraing. Very happy with this place, and would love to come back!
We had an excellent time, we are a family of 5 and everyone loved it, kids sighed when we told them there was no TV but they never got bored. We played loads of board games that are provided, and with a vey quiet beach 2 minutes walk away, it was ideal. The cottage has everything we needed and very spacious. Cracking holiday had by us all, and we all agreed we’d love to come back. Thanks very much for the lovely cottage.
6 of us stayed for 3 nights and it was great location to walk into Portree. The instructions to find the house was clear. Sofa bed is in the living room and we had to make it up ourselves. Overall we had a pleasant stay and will recommend to others
Keeper’s cottage was perfect for our family needs. It was very clean and had everything we needed in a holiday home. Staffin is in a beautiful area of Skye - beaches wonderful. Thank you
Absolutely lovely house in a lovely area. + an extra 5 stars because of the visits from the local cat.
We had the most amazing week stay at Jubilee House. This is the 1st holiday cottage we've stayed in where we chose not to leave the property on 2 separate days because the location was so beautiful. Views for miles and a huge garden the dogs enjoyed. The welcome gift were truly delicious and we really appreciated the warm welcome. We cannot recommend you visit here highly enough.
Florrie's is a very comfortable holiday home. A lovely bed, a beautiful bathroom, a comfortable sofa, a well-equipped kitchen, a beautiful view over the bay and also a garden. Very cosy!
We really enjoyed our stay at the old post office. The cottage is spacious, clean and comfortable a favourite space of ours was the upstairs lounge- a quiet peaceful place to read a book. The views from the windows are stunning! A few small things to make the stay even better: - it would be great if the main bedroom was a king or super king bed - we found it difficult to find the cottage- a sign on the main road would have been useful -on our last day we found the walk down to the beach from the property (it was very overgrown) some information about this would have been useful in the ...more
Great location with views, comfortable for large groups with kids and easy access to Isle of Skye - highly recommend
Stayed here for the 2nd time.Loved the redecoration.Fantastic views of the bay.Great location. No wifi but wasnt a problem.Very clean and comfortable.Kitchen equipped with everything we needed.Ideal holiday home.
Great stay. My only deduction of points for the comfort was the sofas in the lounge, whilst good, one had the unfortunate habit of sliding down on the seats!
Overall great property - loved the location within walking distance to downtown Portree and having a bathroom off of each bedroom was amazing. The house was very cute and worked well for our group of 6.
We had a lovely week staying in the cottage. It had everything we needed, including a very useful dryer for when the weather was a bit damp! The enclosed garden was excellent for our energetic dog, with a wonderful view across the water to the next peninsula. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for us all. The location might be a little remote for some people, but we really appreciated the peace and quiet, when the rest of the island was busy with summer visitors. There are good walks from the door, and excellent tea and cake at the Yurt Cafe just down the road. The owner ca...more
The location of this cottage is really convenient for visiting most of the isle of Skye, 10 minutes into Portree, 30 minutes to Staffin area, 45minutes to Dunvegan, 1hr15 to Elgol. The roads in were good if a bit potholey, and the cottage is easy to find with convenient parking for 1 car. The cottage itself is lovely on the outside, but is quite tired inside although is well equipped. I had no cell signal but the Wi-Fi is excellent so there was no issue. There is no terrestrial TV but a large smart TV to watch streaming services. The property is good value for money, being significantly ch...more
We really enjoyed our stay at Bridge Cottage. The location was fantastic. ideally situated to access all parts of Skye. The photos were obviously taken some time ago and the outside area could do with tidying up a bit. Inside was lovely, but could be improved by the simple addition of some basic glasses and crockery. Only one wine glass and no beer glasses, but four champagne flutes. A few extra plates and bowls would have made meal times a little easier.
Sitting close to a brook (Allt) that runs into Loch Slapin a few hundred yards away, the cottage is well located with views over the Loch. The highlight is the time seasoned chaise longue in the lounge which being alongside a large panel window affords a very comfortable view of the Loch below and the mountains behind it. The cottage is also well supplied with kitchen utensils but we were disappointed to see that the Teflon coating in the pans was scratched. We also found the old microwave oven to be too complicated to use but the hob and oven were fine. likewise the fridge freezer, wash...more
The property was as described. It was spotlessly clean on arrival and well prepared for us. The location was amazing and provided a quiet but accessible spot from which to tour the island.
The cottage is nice and clean. Everything looks very new. The location is a little bit out of the way, but this is fine if you will be exploring anyway. My slight complaint was that there was no soap products to use the dishwasher or the washing machine. Also, the stove is a relatively new induction, and unfortunately someone bought a new cheap aluminium frying pan which cannot be used on this stove. Little details like these detract from the otherwise great experience.
Very comfy flat, in great location, very close to Staffin beach. It was just what we wanted, next door to Keeper’s Cottage.
Very dissatisfied with condition and cleanliness of cottage. Would not recommend, left early. Support from island and Highland cottages very good after I raised issues with them. Owner contacted me once saying he would speak to cleaner, never heard from him again. Awaiting refund. Needs a deep clean and serious maintenance, would not recommend at all.
A comfortable and well-appointed cottage on the quiet and out of the way Sleat peninsula. The beds were comfortable and the shower was excellent. The booking process and getting the key etc was straightforward and everything went without a hitch. The location is beautiful although the weather when we were there was appalling, so we unfortunately weren't able to make the most of our visit. Fortunately the house was a cosy and quiet refuge to retreat to when the gales and rain were lashing outside. The only negative was that the fireplace in the lounge smoked so much as to be no use and also...more
Nice location . Loads of space inside with everything you needed . Could do with outside seating , one old flaky bench at the front door , grass overgrown and an old fridge freezer outside not nice to look at. Would have been very piecfull if it weren’t for the 2 dogs constantly barking next door.
We enjoyed our stay here. The house was well equipped and comfortable. We had no problems. The information from Islands and Highlands Cottages was very useful.
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. The loch is literally at the end of the garden and there is a sort of private bay area where we went swimming every day. The house was not cleaned very well when we arrived but the location more than compensated for this. The busy nearby road can be heard from the house and it is quite a scary turning out into it as there is little visbility for oncoming traffic coming over the hill. You find techniques to handle this though. It is in easy distance for shops in Broadford and I would recommend it highly as a location to tackle the areas in the south of ...more
Lochside is a beautiful property in a stunning location, and under normal circumstances it could have been a wonderful stay for our family. Unfortunately, during our visit there was a 10+ hour power outage affecting the whole area. While I understand that the weather event was beyond the owner’s control, there was no emergency backup option (such as alternative heating or cooking provision), and the handling afterwards was disappointing. Despite the inconvenience and our decision to stay on, there was no goodwill gesture offered, only a strict reference to terms and conditions and the SSE r...more
