We checked in for the long weekend and it was just spectacular! The location the views and above all the hosts. They made us feel at home and literally took care of us throughout. I would highly recommend this place for a short trip or even if you are looking to get married as they have done up their new barn now!
I found our accommodation fantastic, it was in a beautiful setting with so much charm and character. I can not fault any part of the barn, from the moment I stepped in it took my breath away with its size, decor , and style . The owner had thought of everything inside and out providing us with the perfect set to enjoy our stay and make it special . I would like to say the owners were wonderful and it is a credit to them.
Lovely cottage with excellent accessible facilities in a beautiful location. The friendly owners are on hand to give any support or advice.
Great location and amazing place to stay. Kick back and sit and admire the views. Enjoy preparing the hot tub and look forward to a warm welcome from your hosts. So clean so easy to use. Relax and take time out. This is the perfect place to stay.
A beautiful, recently renovated bijou cottage. Perfect for my daughter, her husband and young baby. Modern but still maintaining its cosiness and the garden is a real bonus. Perfect location for visiting nearby beaches etc.
Just spent 2 weeks at this lovely cottage. This was our 4th visit so probably not a surprise that we rate it very highly. Decor and fittings are stylish & top quality. Everything has been thought of and provided. Comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean inside - nicely integrated into the surrounding buildings and grounds. Owners are on site if any problems but due to the way the buildings are laid out the cottage gives you lots of privacy. Peace & quiet is what you get as the cottage is quite a long way up the side of the valley with Barnstaple below and nothing but trees above. Great views acr...more
We had a fantastic time at The Shippon at Park View Farm. A very spacious and well equipped cottage with pretty much everything you could possibly need for an extended stay. We cooked in most evenings and the kitchen facilities were good. The beds were nice and comfy and the showers were excellent. Everything was very well maintained and all the little details had been thought of! The only thing to be aware of on booking is that it is a little off the beaten track with the final mile long lane to reach the cottage being quite narrow in places but that's typical in this area! In terms of amenit...more
Seaweed Cottage was a very comfortable, clean, bright and roomy home from home. It was spacious for a family of four (adults) and dog! Beds were comfortable and the cottage was well stocked with all we needed, including bed linen and towels. Showers were decent and there is a handy porch for coats and boots. It was literally a 5 minute walk to Combe Martin beach, shops and cafe's. The Black and White chippy was great (3 min walk), and the Ice cream parlour Sugar Rush was amazing. There is not much of a garden, but we didn't feel the need to have one as were so close to the beach. ...more
Our extended family rented four of the cottages for a long weekend and we had a lovely time. The swimming pool, games room and conservatory are such nice sociable spaces and cater for kids and adults alike. The views are gorgeous, the cottages are cosy and the owners are super friendly and helpful. Can't recommend enough!
A last minute decision to go away for half term led us to Ford Hill Cottage and it was wonderful. On arrival we were met by Adam who showed us around the property and presented us with the most generous of welcome hampers. Adam and Janet were always available but never ‘got in the way’ - perfect hosts. The cottage is far more spacious than the pictures suggest and is furnished to a high standard and we particularly liked the extremely comfortable beds. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need but with a fantastic range of pubs and restaurants within a 20 minute drive you may find ...more
From the moment we arrived at the Hen House at Accott Manor, we felt at home. Beautiful setting, the whole property is impressive, well kept and looks stunning. The Hen House is completely private, a beautiful self contained cottage, with private access, well set out, equipped with literally everything we needed and more. The large terrace with dining furniture, loungers and hot tub is lovely and looks out over gorgeous views, with chilled out cows grazing throughout the day - I loved watching them. The owners Kath and Shawn, have got their approach spot on in my opinion -they are two lo...more
We stayed with extended family in this beautiful and spacious house. Poor weather but great place for exploring Dartmoor. Games room very popular will all!
We were very happy with our apartment. It was spacious, clean and well equipped. Communications with Jenny were brilliant. She gave us lots of information and even warned us about a possible road closure. It was very nice to have tea, milk, sugar, biscuits and a bottle of cava waiting for us.
The Shippen is a great dog friendly cottage, the garden was great, the location is perfect for walking down the lovely woodland path to the beach & Fowey. The only problem was my small Dachshunds could get under the broken gate/fence we managed to block it up with stones from the rest of the garden. One of the dogs also jumped over the wall as it’s quite low but we blocked that with garden chairs. Don’t let this put you off this great cottage.
The farmhouse was a great place to stay for an 80th birthday celebration with all the family. It is extremely well equipped and comfortable with plenty of space for 12 of us aged from nearly two to 80. The children really enjoyed the large garden with all its facilities. There are lots of lovely places to visit and fabulous beaches at Woolacombe and Saunton.
We stayed at swallow cottage for a week over the Easter break. The weather wasn't the best but my 2 boy's aged 7 & 11 had plenty to do including dips in the indoor heated swimming pool and fun in the well equipped games room. The hosts we're brilliant and helpful but not intrusive just leaving us to enjoy the stay. They even put on a Easter egg hunt for all the kids staying with cakes and drinks for both children and adults, even the adults had suprise egg's in the hunt! Basically we had a brilliant stay and will almost definitely return for another great holiday.
grill pan left in a disgusting state in the oven upon arrival. Stain on pillowcase and outside terrace steps covered in leaves potentially slippy if wet. Spiral staircase more tricky than expected.But,. Overall a fabulous holiday and the issues raised should easily be rectified.
We had a wonderful stay at Springfield Linney. The views were spectacular. The cottage was very comfortable (two super king beds, one which can be two singles), modern, thoughtfully renovated and well equipped (including travel cot and high chair). We loved the hot tub with sea views! The hosts were very friendly and helpful. There was a lovely garden for enjoying a cup of tea or glass of wine. A great place for two couples (with two bathrooms) or a couple and one or two children. Only 15-20 minutes by car from Saunton Sands and lots of other wonderful beaches and activities. We would love to ...more
We loved our visit to Coast view. Brilliant location to visit with 3 Babies under two and a teenager. House clean and comfortable and plenty of space for us all. Wonderful to have beach on the doorstep and the wonderful garden to the rear. Only two negatives would have loved a bigger fridge and the sun beds needed a bit of a clean. But these are small things and really would not deter us from visiting again. Thank you My Favourite Cottages you were helpful, informative and nothing was too much trouble. Always quick to respond to any queries and we’re always so professional.
We had another wonderful weekend away at The Piggery, this was our second visit. The facilities are great just what we need for all the family members, ie a ground floor bedroom with an ensuite wet room with hand rails etc and separate bedrooms and shower room upstairs. With such amazing weather being able to sit outside on the comfy garden chairs was an added bonus. Also the location is great in the countryside, but with Barnstaple quickly and easily accessible with plenty of choice of shops and supermarkets and then also having the beautiful Exmoor on your doorstep as well. We highly reco...more
Firstly, we had a great holiday - however having stayed in Dolly's last year and my daughter having Poppy's with us this year Aggies was disappointing. It's very characterful but tired and in need of a refurb. The downstairs bedrooms were very comfortable but the first floor one full of pitfalls - very low beams and difficult stairs to negotiate in the night to get down to the bathroom. Also a small hole in the floor which has been filled but at a lower level than the rest. You need to be very able to avoid the obstacles. Having said that location is perfect and the outside space brillian...more
A multi generational holiday at Dollys Barn was well provided for. The outdoor space and play area were a special bonus .
Heating didn't work upstairs for the whole stay except in the afternoons briefly. Owners dad came twice to fix it but it kept tripping out. Result was the two main bedrooms and the main bathroom were cold at every time we actually used them. The owners/ letting agency offered 10% off another visit. The property is up for sale., the owners dad said they had only let it because it hasn't sold and they were shutting it up for the winter after we went, not even a Christmas let. So quite apart from not wanting to go back, it's unlikely it'll be available. Lots of emails with glib comments like the...more
A lovely cottage which is very clean and has all you need for a holiday away from the crowds. It is situated in pretty gardens with a small stream running through the gardens There is plenty of garden furniture with a barbeque area. It is quiet close to the road so you do get a bit of traffic noise but it is not a very busy road . There is a great pub/restaurant The Bell in Parkham the next village. Would recommend
We had a lovely time at The Tallett. The kids really enjoyed the hot tub and games room and the cottage is cosy, very clean and well equipped. Very comfy beds. Thank you!
Such a wonderful house for a family holiday, our third visit & hopefully not our last. Large rooms & well equipped. Our children loved playing football on the grass at the front of the farmhouse.
Talland Croft is a beautiful property in a perfect location for exploring Crantock village & the surrounding areas. The village is idyllic with two of the best pubs in the area in the Old Albion & the Cornishman. Crantock beach is absolutely stunning and it is within walking distance of this property. Although in some rooms in the house, the decor & furniture is slightly outdated, this is a minor compromise in my opinion. Bedrooms are large & comfortable with plenty of space for the family of 10 + baby that we had. The garden is stunning! Overall great value, we would definitely recommend.
We stayed here for a week at the beginning of June, and were blown away. Although the pictures clearly sold it to us, it was even more perfect in real life. A fabulous location, short walking distance to amenities and the beach, and the garden overlooking the beach was perfect. The hot tub is a lovely addition, and the outside shower made easy work of cleaning up the kids and dog after a day at the beach. Comfy beds, very spacious rooms, modern decor, views that speak for themselves. The only minor issues: 1. The comfort of the sofa (very low and hard to get up off), and the two chairs in ...more
A wonderful stay at Goodleigh. Having never stayed there before we were excited to see what the place and location has to over. The place overall was very clean and tidy. It’s been furnished with very high standards. A couple of things to bear in mind: 1, theres no Microwave. Its a combi one we never used it so can’t comment on how good it is. 2, the induction hob will only work with there pans, so if you can your own they won’t work like we have one frying pan for our holidays.
We had a perfect week at Riversmeet, the house and location was superb, from door step to beach was great for dog walks and with the pubs/restaurant's so close it made for a relaxing break. Would recommend using the Commodore Hotel for car parking, they charge a small fee but worth it. Will definitely be retuning in 2025.
15 friends spent a week at Biallid House in May. It proved to be one of the most popular venues we have ever stayed in on our annual trips to Scotland. The house is extremely spacious with good facilities and in many ways, quite luxurious. It's great to be able to cook and eat together with so many people and to relax together after dinner in comfortable surroundings. The location is excellent for outdoor activities and just to enjoy the local area and its wildlife. The booking and supporting admin were very helpful.
The location is very good with fabulous views but with a steep drive and 25 steps up to the property it could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. The side balcony has very comfortable seating and lovely views, the front area although it again has lovely views could do with a tidy up. Inside the property could be made more comfortable with better seating (the sofas and chair are rather hard and not the most relaxing to sit on after a long day) and some lamps rather than bright wall and ceiling lighting. The laminate flooring gives the room a cold feeling and perhaps a rug would hel...more
Firstly we had a lovely holiday, the location was perfect for us. The house whilst needing a bit of updating (old rusty microwave etc.) is overall okay, with good bathrooms/showers. We had a number of challenges with 7/8 adults staying, which may not be an issue for smaller groups. There is only a very small under counter fridge, which wasn’t working well, certainly not large enough to cater for a week or two for 8 if you plan BBQ/cooking. One of the eight beds is actually a ‘camp bed’ so for an adult was not practical and thus was squeaky. A number of pieces of garden furniture were ...more
Very comfortable, and in a great location. The countryside is magnificent. The fishing is mostly dependent on spates.
Old world charm country cottage , good size rooms . Limited access to upstairs. Staircase steep not suitable for the elderly. Quiet location with good access for parking but only limited roadway to cottage. I.e only room for one car on roadway on lane.
This property has lots of room and potential, but hasn't been kept up to the standard that one would expect for the rental cost. The good news is that if the owners want to, they are easy to fix... The property needs a sign on the gate post and over the house door - we weren't sure if we'd found the right place when we arrived. We had been told the keys would be in the door but they weren't, so there was a delay whilst we found how to get the keys. There was no hot water and it took us a while to figure out where the system was and how to turn it on. I would expect that this would have been...more
We had a fantastic weekend in the lodge. Amazing location surrounded by fantastic scenery. Would visit again.
The location was great but overall the cottage was a bit grubby. Floors under beds really dirty. Towels smelt, bedding was clean though. Attention to detail poor. Clock on wall not working. Only 3 decent sized mugs for 4 adults!? Sofa/chairs very uncomfortable. Walls scuffed. Think it needs deep clean and lick of paint.
Comfortable apartment in waterfront location. Views from living room perfect, and fitted with comfy chairs & sofas: great for a rainy day. Kitchen is very small, but all the essentials are there; plenty of crockery, glasses, utensils, pans etc., and full-size fridge/freezer. Welcome pack (milk, biscuits, tea, coffee & dog treats) very thoughtful. Shower is great, with plenty of hot water. Parking is OK, but turning out of drive onto road does require care. Several great pubs in walking distance. Instow beach is perfect for dog walking, but there is a notice that swimming is not advisable, so ...more
Excellent location for hills. Helpful & efficient staff. Lovely views. Cottage was well equipped & comfortable for 6-8 walkers with 3 twin rooms & one double & 2 bathrooms.
A nice spacious holiday home, in a scenic quiet location, with friendly host. Was great to have 2 parking spaces, right next to the property and a small enclosed garden to let our dogs run around in and the welcome pack was a nice touch. The level of cleanliness was a bit disappointing, all floors and surfaces has been thoroughly cleaned, but the walls and ceilings were full of spiders webs and spiders. So we spent the first 2 hours of our stay cleaning. The 2 couches were extremely soft and the kitchen tap constantly dipped. Also there was no toilet paper, luckily we had brought some with u...more
Had a lovely stay, it was lovely to receive home-made scones and beautiful fresh flowers in the rooms . There was everything you needed in the cottage. Only one little complaint, I felt like there should be a gate in the front garden my dog is very well controlled and would not step out of the entrance but I could imagine children and other dogs might try to get out and try to get onto the path where cars go by .
