Had a wonderful week away despite the rain- enjoyed the lovely log burner and the great hot tub that we enjoyed everyday. Beautiful location, tranquil and a very relaxing break away

This was our second visit and it was as good as ever. Shaun and Kathy are very helpful and Kathy makes beautiful scones, plus the addition of some lovely wine.
The hen house is so lovely, with fabulous views to look out into, plus the lovely hot tub.
We will be returning sometime

Warm and comfy. The view from the deck was amazing. Everything was clean and in good working order. Personally I didn’t like the pillows - hard and a bit lumpy but I appreciate that is a personal opinion. My only real problem is that there are no windows that can open- there’s patio doors but in wet and windy weather we could not leave these open during the night and there were no other opening windows. Made for a stuffy night!

Lovely cottage with a stunning view - so peaceful!

The kitchen was so well kitted out especially for such a small kitchen! Had everything we needed for several dinners and breakfasts at home.

The lounge was lovely and comfy and the balcony was amazing - great hot tub and beautiful unspoilt views

A beautiful place, right in the countryside. Views to dream of whilst enjoying from the hot tub.

It had a luxury feel, all furniture and kitchen items were of great quality and extremely comfortable.
30 mins ish to the coast, rural roads, please take care. We would really recommend the hen house, it’s a fantastic base but also perfect if you just want to relax in accommodation, plenty of walks to do around. My only feedbacks on room for improvement would be, the coat hangers for the wardrobe, 8 were provided but we stayed 7 nights so it was not enough. I did have to descale the kettle, I didn’t mind at all as we come from a hard water area and used to doing so but just something to keep an eye on. Base of Brolley outside is not secure to hold the umbrella, we were thankful for a lush breeze but the Brolley almost blew away into the field we just propped it up against the bi fold doors to keep it secure.
Saw the owners occasionally and were such lovely people and greeted by their lovely dog. Scones were most welcome and some of the best we have had!
Bed extra comfy, thank you for a wonderful stay. We did not want to come home. Would recommend to anyone wanting to be in a peaceful private location but not too far from north Devon coast line.

We have had an excellent week in the Hen
House, the lovely extras Shawn and Kath provided where second to
None. The scones where the best, wanted more but Shawn had them.
They where on the end of the phone if we needed them.
One small detail would be to have a small window to open for ventilation. We did have the front and back doors opened during the day and early evening but, of course we had to close them
Up when we turned in.
The views are fantastic
We will be returning next year

We had the bestest time at the hen house. Everything was absolutely perfect.big thank you for Shawn for his prompt action regarding the hot tub....absolutely gem of a place.
We loved it so much we have booked again for next year.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Hen House. Lovely living area, amazing hot tub with beautiful views and very comfortable bed. Lots of towels provided which was very appreciated and surprise scones on arrival (very delicious and freshly baked by the owners!) we bumped into them a few times and they were very friendly but respected our space at all times. Table Tennis a fun addition and Barnstaple only a short drive away. We would stay again :-)

A beautiful place to spend a week doing nothing but relaxing. Views from the hot tub were stunning and it was so private. Delicious home baked scones with jam and clotted cream on arrival were a lovely surprise.

The perfect retreat for some peace and quiet.
You do need a car to get anywhere though.
the hot tub was delightful, and the cottage was comfortable
and well equipped.
We would stay here again for sure.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Hen House, it is located around 15 mins drive from the town of Barnstaple in a quiet countryside.

Incredible views and a quiet time to relax and enjoy a break. Outside was a hot tub, loungers and bbq.

The interior is modern and cosy, suitable for 2 people.

Came here for my boyfriends 18th, cannot fault the place! Absolutely loved our stay, amazing views, such a comfortable bed and a lovely hottub. Everything you need and more was thought of and included in the cottage!

Very beautiful and tranquil place! There are NO windows in the property to let air in . The under floor heating pump must be in the adjoining loft and makes a loud clunk when it comes on and off day and NIGHT !!

We had a lovely stay in the Hen House at Accott Manor. The accommodation is very well maintained and could not have been better. The location also terrific for anyone looking for peace and tranquility, whilst still being within easy reach of the main town of Barnstaple (only ten minutes down the road). In all, we had a super week, visiting the local towns and places of interest, knowing that when we returned at the end of the day the Hen House was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The hot tub was a lovely addition and we found the bed really comfortable too. It was everything we wanted - would definitely recommend and would book again in a heartbeat. Great stuff! We stayed here for a week. It was very clean on arrival and everything we needed was there. There was also some scones waiting for us which was a lovely touch! The view from the balcony was beautiful and the hot tub was amazing. The BBQ was lovey too and we had many meals looking at the views over the fields in the evening. The only thing that could have been better was if someone came to check the hot tub or instructions were left for how to maintain it as we felt it wasn’t very clean on the last couple of days.
There are lots of beautiful attractions and walks locally. We went on the circular walk in the Valley of the Rocks which had amazing views. We went to Exmoor Zoo which was fun and the local town Barnstaple was good for a bit of shopping.
We would definitely recommend this stay for anyone wanting to explore North Devon.

We had a fantastic stay at The Hen House. The location is perfect - it's surrounded by fields but only a short drive to the coast. The sundeck with the loungers, table-set and hot-tub is perfect for catching the sunshine and taking in the amazing view across the fields and we loved watching the cows in the field below the sundeck. The owners were really friendly and helpful and the extra touch of placing a bottle of milk, clotted cream, home-made jam and scones as a welcome gift was amazing - the scones were delicious. The interior was was warm and comfortable with everything we needed to make out stay as enjoyable as possible. We will definitely return to stay at The Hen House again.

Amazing location if you love peace and quiet, apart from the odd ‘mooing’ from the cows.
The jacuzzi is so relaxing and peaceful with fabulous views and total privacy.
Easy access to so many beautiful places.
Every thought and detail has been put into this lovely apartment.
The owners are on hand if you need something but they don’t get in the way of your privacy.
There is a fun play room in the barn with pool and table tennis tables.
Our dream holiday!

An excellent property for two guests with fantastic views from the extensive balcony with hot tub. Lovely, comfy bed with crisp white sheets and plenty of fluffy towels. Spacious living room with huge TV and quality sofa. Thank you also for the cream tea on arrival.

To improve further:
Would appreciate a cafetiere and tea pot, and a larger dining table, as it was rather cramped to eat on it - a table cloth, and/or some mats would be a good idea too, to protect the glass top.
