The Linhay cottage at Wheel Farm, was a perfect base for our family holiday, a fantastic location, very high standard of accommodation, set on lovely grounds, with a wonderful indoor pool on site. The owners made us feel very welcomed and we will be returning next year. Many thanks.
We booked the Park View Farmhouse for a week in November for 2 couples and absolutely loved it. Being autumn, the weather was mixed but the comfort of the cottage was a blessing on rainy days. This 4-bedroom house was beautifully furnished and to a high standard, having being recently refurbished. It was absolutely spotless when we arrived and we found some lovely welcoming presents (A bottle of chilled Prosecco, local fudge, fresh flowers, tea, coffee). The layout was perfect for us and had lots of indirect light (candles) for a very cosy atmosphere. We cooked most days and we were pleased to...more
Condition and cleanliness at Ford Hill Cottage has to be seen to be believed! Cosy and welcoming in every respect with high end modern appliances throughout. Location is ideal for exploring North Devon also the nearby Exmoor National Park. Despite the cottage being a genuine rural retreat precise directions provided by the friendly host meant it was easy to find, really nice touches on arrival included a hamper of delicious treats! There is a games room as well with a pool table much enjoyed by our sons. Would absolutely recommend the cottage to anybody wanting to visit the area.
We had an amazing restful time. The owners were so kind and helpful. It was lovely to enjoy the peace and quiet of Devon in an amazing place. Thank you
Me and my family had a fabulous week at the wheel cottage farm. We will definitely be revisiting! Such a lovely place and lovely people!
Lots to do, hotel was very accommodating visited Barnstaple, Westward Ho and Lynmouth! +Tennis/golf
We were lucky to get this booking following a cancellation and enjoyed our week there. The location is excellent, overlooking the beach and the town. Whilst there are 4 rentals on the same property, we had no problems with parking or with even generally seeing the other guests. Once inside, everything was clean and well kept, with everything we needed. The barbecue and hot tub certainly saw some use as we relaxed watching the sunset. We would happily stay again if we return to the area. Finally, the service from the team and the correspondence was excellent making everything run very smoothly.
Awesome cottage, 2 min walk to the beach, pub and local shops. House was perfect for family break away. Great communal area, comfy sofas, great showers and dog friendly for our new family member. Hosts went above and beyond to may holiday special. Giving great advise on dog friendly places and stuff to do. We liked it so much we have already booked to go back. Whole family including 13yo&10yo looking forward to return visit.
House was beautiful. Very well equipped and plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Had some lovely meals in the huge dining room. We really enjoyed using the hot tub and pool table. Spacious grounds with a secret gate to Lydford Gorge. Lots of lovely local walks and wonderful scenery.
Cottage was brilliant & clean. Owners were great & really helpful. Location good to get everywhere, would recommend to anyone.
Every single one of us loved staying in the house, it was beautifully decorated and well equipped for all our needs. The garden and veranda areas was perfect for bbqs, quiet drinks and yoga with the sunrise. Internally the bedrooms were comfy, cost and the downstairs area was perfect for chilling and dining, the kitchen had everything we needed - it was well stocked. The location was ideal as it was close to Braunton with many shops, takeaways and coffee pick ups. We also spent alot of time at Saunton Sands which was just down the road, which is a great surf beach. Thank you for accommodating ...more
Facilities were clean and really dog friendly. Everything we needed was close at hand and we were able to relax and enjoy a stay in the north devon countryside. Easy access to nearby towns and beaches. Perfect for any walkers.
We have just spent a fantastic week on Exmoor staying at the wonderful Exmoor Farmhouse. It's a super house for a large group (we were 12 across 3 generations) with a beautiful view across Withypool and the moor. The house has loads of space and many rooms including a dining room that more than coped with 15 of us on one evening, a large kitchen breakfast room and a living room which also comfortably accommodated all of us for games and quizzes. Some of the decor in the house is amazing, there are books and artwork everywhere and it is clearly a much loved family home when not being used by gu...more
We spent a really lovely week at Seaglass Cottage over Christmas 2020 (were badly in need of a getaway after the year of all years!). The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas and had been kitted out with absolutely everything we needed for a cosy, relaxing, entertaining break - the huge Smart TV was a huge hit with our teenager. Sarah had also provided us with a very generous welcome package including; tea, coffee pods, milk, chocs, biscuits, and even a bottle of bubbly for the hot tub, which we enjoyed on Christmas day. The house was spotlessly clean, toasty warm, and the beds were m...more
Everything was done in the present conditions to make it feel really safe.We would definitely recommend these cottages and would go again.
The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everthing we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We very much appreciated the cream tea, wine and tea coffee and milk left for our arrival. The cottage and garden were very peaceful with a wide variety of birdlife which we enjoyed watching. Good access to Great Torrington and a bit further afield to beaches and the Taw estuary which is stunning. A thoroughly enjoyable break, thank you
Had a lovely stay in the main farmhouse, 12 extended family for 40th birthday. The house is very well equipped and Cathy was very helpful. Highly recommend Higher Mullacott Farm, great location for exploring North Devon.
We had a very pleasant stay during Covid and school holidays. Everything was well prepared when we arrived and every effort was made to make our stay enjoyable despite the restraints. The farmhouse has all the amenities you could want both inside and out, including its own washing machine and tumble dryer, garden and parking spaces outside (but would just recommend you take your own non-stick frying pan). The beds were all very comfortable and we loved the log fire, especially as it was a bit rainy that week and the fire made us very cosy. The farmhouse is a good size for up to 8 but ...more
We had a lovely time at Nuide House. The house was spacious yet cosy and we enjoyed exploring the surrounding area. The bottles of Prosecco on arrival were particularly well appreciated! Thanks for everything!
Tigh na Ault cottage is one of the best cottages we have stayed in, clean warm well equipped and very welcoming. It has the most spectacular views with being situated on the hillside. Peace and tranquillity abundant wild life and plenty of lovely walks. This was the perfect holiday for us and I would definitely recommend this cottage for exploring the highlands.I celebrated a special Birthday there and on walking into the kitchen on the day of arrival was greeted with a Birthday card a bottle of wine and some delicious shortbread which was a lovely gesture, very thoughtful and kind, we had a v...more
From start to finish , we had great customer support with our booking to stay at the Shippen for Christmas , from Christmas trees to the cottage being absolutely immaculate . Nothing was too much trouble , the location was great and perfect for dog walking down to the cove through the woods . The cottage was well equipped and the only suggestion we have is perhaps a new cutlery set , a very minor thought .
We had an excellent stay in dolly’s barn, beautiful house and grounds. Location on busy road so would be unsuitable to walk or cycle anywhere nearby. Owners of the house on site who were very friendly and welcoming. The grounds for children are fantastic. My favourite cottages a third party agent who we booked through weren’t the most helpful and I felt like a burden if I had any questions so wouldn’t recommend using them. Go direct if you can.
One word, Stunning! Met by the owner when we arrived and he was brilliant showing us around and answering any questions we had. The pictures do not lie, it is an absolute gem, beautiful views, beautiful scenery, just a brilliant place to stay to just totally unwind and relax!
Lovely property in a great location. Excellent walks from the door. The views from the property are stunning!
We loved the location of the cottages and grounds and beautiful lake. However the downside to Blare Cottage is that there was no view from any window and it was quite dark downstairs. Good for short stay and ideally located for the wonderful beaches that are not far away In a car and the surrounding countryside. But disappointing because of positioning of Blare Cottage.
Escaping to this wonderful cottage after months of lockdown was a tonic. We had stayed there a few years ago but there was the cottage had been modernised with a lovely walk in shower and new furniture in the lounge.
The apartment is very clean & is equipped with all the appliances/utensils you’d expect. All cleaning products are provided & extras like toiletries was nice. We loved the cream tea provided on arrival! The location is fantastic as just across the road from the Beach. However the best thing about the property is the large shared terrace with the amazing views out to sea. All in all a lovely little place.
We had a great stay at lower mill, wheel farm which is a lovely setting and very peaceful. Richard and Alli were attentive hosts and made us feel very welcome. We were lucky enough to get away just before the second lockdown and even had the use of the pool which was amazing. A stunning location that was great for us to explore north Devon from and a very well thought out place to stay. We thought it was the best place we have stayed in terms of room and facilities, feeling very cosy when coming back from a days exploring. We would definitely recommend staying here it was very clean and...more
We enjoyed our holiday at Coast view, excellent views really good location plenty of room for everyone, everything you need in the kitchen also having three televisions saved any arguments over what to watch, the hot tub was excellent after a long walk on the beach.
Beautiful house in a stunning location really peaceful with a very relaxing atmosphere. A very friendly welcome from Jean who shared some of her knowledge about the house and the village with us. Hope to return in the future
excellent character cottage with good facilities and cleanliness. wi-fi connection was only problem.
An incredibly spacious and comfortable cottage. Very clean and in good condition. Very nice meal at the cellars restaurant.
We had a wonderful week, lovely views, excellent inside and outside eating area, plenty of space for children to play and explore. Comfortable living area and everything we needed.
Talland Croft is a lovely spacious house while having a cosy cottage feel. Plenty of space for everyone to eat together and relax together. Beautiful garden - Rosie the dog loved it too! On a quiet road in easy walking distance to the village and a great location for exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall. Only issue which could do with an upgrade was the back door. A bit tricky to get the hang of. If we can afford it, we would absolutely consider staying again. Thank you.
Spotlessly clean. Very good position within the complex. Ideal cottage for 2 people. Made very welcome by Alli who explained all the amenities.
It is a quaint cottage set in the most magical setting where time slows to allow a complete recharge of yourself. It really is rural but never far from a maddening crowd whenever you want to step into either the local towns or incredible coastline walks and towns that are dotted along the Jurassic coastline
Warm, comfortable stay. Quiet and family friendly. Lots to do locally. Really enjoyed our holiday. Many thanks!
We have stayed at fairways East before some years ago it did not disappoint, house lovely plenty of space very clean, plenty of equipment in the house, we ate in the hotel each night food was fab Staff very friendly, we had b fast also on our departure date lovely but pricy for what you got, the facilities are excellent at Highbullen under normal non COVID circumstances billiards, outdoor pool to cold now though, golf, Simulator, surrounding area is very remote the tight lanes are fun, Lovely for walks though
We were very pleased with our holiday cottage, plenty of room and the amenities on offer such as pool and tennis court were well used. Location was superb and hosts very welcoming and attentive. Would definitely recommend and revisit. Many thanks
Well out of the way, a relaxing break. Village shop and pub a credit to the residents. 25 minutes to a choice of beaches. Give it a go!!
It was absolutely brilliant - everything we wanted it to be for our sons first holiday. Can’t wait to come back!
we stayed at seascape at the end of August. The weather ( Storm Ellen and Francis ) was challenging and we were not able to make use of the outside space or decking but made the best of things. thankfully the internal space and light interior and excellent facilities helped mitigate the worst the British Summer could throw at us. ( ps please if possible could you email us the make of the mattress in the master bedroom as particularly comfortable )
Cosy cottage, well heated, in a great location 10 mins drive from a beautiful beach - Saunton Sands. Braunton was a great village to stay in, lots of lovely restaurants, a great buzz to it.
We stayed for a few nights in October and had a very enjoyable time. It’s a nice little place tucked well away in the countryside and the hosts were very pleasant and accommodating. Would highly recommend this place for a couple wishing to explore the east/ south Devon area.
We have stayed at High Bullen before and would go back there again. Me and my nephew were there for the golf and you couldn't fault this apart from the clubhouse being closed which is a sign of the times. At the moment with just about everything either closed or restricted I would not recommend staying there unless you just want to unwind which the cottage we were in was perfect for. Restaurant prices are to expensive and drink prices as well. Save yourself some money and go to the Exeter arms just up the road or the bell inn which serves some of the best food I have tasted.
We enjoyed our stay at Lower Leys Cottage very much. It is a wonderful location, very quiet with fabulous views. On arrival we found the cottage very clean and tidy and there was nice bedding and soft towels. The bedrooms are a good size and the downstairs has a good cosy feel. Our children loved saying hello to the horses and sheep on the farm. It is a good base to explore the surrounding area and we would recommend this property. The only drawbacks are slow broadband and no phone / 4g coverage.
Cottages were in a quiet and family friendly location. Always warm with plenty of hot water, but wouldn't describe as cosy. The lounge was a little oddly configured due to a large load bearing beam. We felt it needed more soft furnishings and some side tables. The kitchen was pretty well equipped with good pans and knives. Oven and hob in good working order but quite slow. Great to have a dishwasher. Lots to do locally. Really enjoyed our holiday. Many thanks!
See above A very nice house in a beautiful location with a stunning view. We very much enjoyed our stay.
This was our 2nd stay at Oyster Cove and already thinking about our 3rd stay! It had everything we needed ( apart from the weather this time). Lovely having extra beds for our family to join us for a few nights. Garden was great size and caught the sun in the morning by the decking outside the living room and then in the evening by the bbq area. Perfect location only 10 min walk to beach along quiet lanes avoiding the main road.
Loved our stay! Cottage was perfect for our needs. Exmoor was gloriously awash with autumn colour. Many thanks for all
Lovely country location but within easy reach of the North Devon coastline and towns. We had one problem with a room on arrival but put right immediately by the owners who live close by. Well appointed comfortable house, would recommend. We visited during Covid restrictions, so no local information, books, games etc available. Not a problem to us as we had taken our own supply of information.
The cottage was very clean and well stocked with cleaning materials. The kitchen has everything you need. The place is cosy and welcoming. The narrow road to the cottage is typical of Devon lanes so care is needed. A small friendly shop in the small town. A short drive to a large Tesco where you can stock up. The mattress in the main bedroom is appalling and must be changed. I slept terribly! The Wi-fi is intermittent bear this in mind if it is an integral part of your stay.
Had a very relaxing stay at Magnolia Cottage, so relaxing we didn’t want to leave! Very comfortable cottage with everything you could need and more Great location in a lovely village. Thoroughly recommend a stay at Magnolia Cottage.
Slightly old fashioned, but having dogs you don't want anything too fancy. It is a very spacious apartment with small garden at the rear and wonderful estuary/sea views out front, so even on a rainy day you can sit and watch the world go by.
We arrived on a cold and wet Friday afternoon to a clean and warm cottage. The cottage had good WiFi coverage but no mobile coverage as it is in a valley so if you want to plan a route out do it before you leave the cottage. Also beware of unmade roads close by that some navigation apps may try and take you down. Fortunately we have a good 4x4 with adjustable suspension so we didn't loose the sump and didn't get stuck.
10 of us (6 plus 4 kids) enjoyed family holiday in this well equipped house. Garden was great too. Wi-intermittently working. No facility for recycling waste. Contrary to advice there is no facility at nearby Morrisons (Newquay) and no facility for collection. We ended up going to the council recycling centre. I am sure some guests would resort to putting in the general waste. For these reasons would say 8 out of 10.
Very comfortable stay; would absolutely return. Owners shared warm hospitality with us, and the Estate staff were fantastic. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a true "get away from it all" Scottish Highlands retreat.
I will never stay again due to the Owner not being very welcoming on arrival he was more concerned about the bins etc. We didn’t like the fact that in the living room an adjoining door allowed access by the owner so didn’t feel comfortable about this. Also because of two kittens We couldn’t let our dog of the lead near The cottage. This was not mentioned prior booking up. Also we had to buy a frying pan as the one we replace was unsatisfactory. The carpet was in poor condition. Otherwise the location was excellent. Too bad about the very narrow country lanes.
Great location for exploring both Devon & Dorset. To reach the cottage you have to tackle a very narrow lane which can be tricky. We chose the cottage as it allowed dogs. The cottage is very pretty with a lovely garden, rooms are spacious although kitchen could be bigger. The only disappointment were the bathrooms, there was only one shower however it wasn’t fit for purpose, we couldn’t get it to work properly, even after contacting the owners it still didn’t work (no pressure & ran cold) there were two large baths, however the water would only run hot for approximately a minute, not good wh...more
