What a wonderful week we had. A spectacular house with an enviable view. Loved the refurbishment. Hot tub fabulous after body boarding and great to have hot outdoor shower. Woolacombe beach is great and we couldn’t have been closer to it. Local amenities great and even a very good seafood restaurant - the Beach House. Enjoyed a Sri Lankan Curry from the beach hut around the bay too. Wish we could have stayed another week. Top price but top quality and well worth it.
We had a lovely stay at Springfield Linney. Everything was perfect and the views are stunning. We will look forward to staying there again.
Morning We stayed at Kittlewake house for a long weekend, we have no complaints, the house had everything you could ask for a weekend especially in the kitchen. It is a beautiful house, it was a shame we came in November as we could have explored the high street and maybe the garden. It is beautifully designed and the beds are so comfortable and the bedding is of very high quality. The house is so homely and would definitely consider coming down again, we are a large family of adults and it accommodated us perfectly. Thank you. Wendy Modeste
The Linhay cottage at Wheel Farm, was a perfect base for our family holiday, a fantastic location, very high standard of accommodation, set on lovely grounds, with a wonderful indoor pool on site. The owners made us feel very welcomed and we will be returning next year. Many thanks.
We will definitely visit again, the Shippen ticked all the boxes. Loved the swimming pool, specifically because it was very clean and the location was fabulous. Thank you
We spent Christmas at Coast View and were thrilled with the property, location and of course wonderful Woolacombe. The property was furnished to a high spec and had all the amenities 9 people required. Would totally recommend this property if you are looking for a large house in Woolacombe that is local to the town and beach. The views from the property overlooking the beach and the downs is another big plus just a pity we couldn't enjoy them from the hot tub due to the weather.
Me and my family had a fabulous week at the wheel cottage farm. We will definitely be revisiting! Such a lovely place and lovely people!
Lots to do, hotel was very accommodating visited Barnstaple, Westward Ho and Lynmouth! +Tennis/golf
We have been to this property three times before and it never fails to please and the properrty has also been upgraded during this time. It is a great place from which to visit the wonderful Exmoor and Coombe Martin, Ilfracombe, South Molton and Barnstaple. The last two are great places for shopping good quality local produce, as well as for supermarkets. There are also pubs and restaurants within a short driving distance.
We have stayed at Lower Aylescott, three times now - each time it has been a different time of year and once was with our whole family taking one cottage each! The site is simply stunning - a hidden treasure. The owners are friendly, welcoming and let you get on with your holiday but are so easy to get hold of, should you need them for anything. From the cottages, Devon is so easy to explore and at the end of each day, you return to a home from home setting that has absolutely everything you could possibly need. You don't actually have to go out if you don't want to; there are lakes, a playgro...more
Very comfortable and well equipped. Owners were friendly and helpful when we had questions. Beautiful views from the garden. Plenty of walks and beaches a short drive away. Would thoroughly recommend.
The house is in a quiet area perfect for all the family, children loved playing in the garden and games room, lots of outside space for our dog Poppy. The house is spacious and very well set out so each room was used by all of us. We enjoyed our BBQs outside. We visited Lydford Gorge which was next door to the house, the children loved walking through the woods and then going for a welly boot paddle in the river.
We stayed as 3 separate families in Hayloft, The Dairy and The Shippen. Ideal for the children and dogs as lots of space in the grounds to roam around. Made use of swimming pool every day and enjoyed a few barbecues. Allison was very friendly and helpful. We all really enjoyed ourselves after all the uncertainty of covid. Lovely area.
we had a lovely week with our family. the children loved exploring the grounds. barbecues were handy for family get togethers. the adults enjoyed playing tennis. location made it easy to get to beaches and walks. clean and comfortable accomodation. thank you to richard and alli for being so welcoming.
We loved our time here. The grounds are immense and beautifully kept, and every kid’s dream to play in! On rainy days the cottage itself was beautiful with enough space but also a really lovely cozy feel to it. Close to all the local beaches and some much needed take-out food! Owners are lovey and very helpful- we’d absolutely come back!
We have just spent a fantastic week on Exmoor staying at the wonderful Exmoor Farmhouse. It's a super house for a large group (we were 12 across 3 generations) with a beautiful view across Withypool and the moor. The house has loads of space and many rooms including a dining room that more than coped with 15 of us on one evening, a large kitchen breakfast room and a living room which also comfortably accommodated all of us for games and quizzes. Some of the decor in the house is amazing, there are books and artwork everywhere and it is clearly a much loved family home when not being used by gu...more
We had such a fantastic stay at this beautiful cottage. The location and amenities were fantastic and there were plenty of things to do nearby. The children loved the swimming pool and tennis courts! The gardens on site were lovely and it was so great to sit there in the evenings with the family. It was a much needed break away and I would definitely stay here again. Thanks to Alli and Richard for making the stay so comfortable and enjoyable as well as making it safe for their visitors during these unusual times.
A very well equipt cottage, extremely comfortable with fabulous views across the valley. It is so peaceful and is an ideal location for RHS Rosemoor and for coastal path walking. Two miles away The Cranford Inn is a must as the food presented is was way above normal pub food standard and reasonably priced. We will definitely being going back.
We stayed for a week in July with family in other cottages at wheel farm. A beautiful setting with plenty of outside space for walking the dog & having bar b q’s etc. The swimming pool was a real bonus, especially on the odd rainy day & the booking system worked really well. The cottage was compact but well equipped & cosy, if a little dark. We found it to be spotlessly clean & felt very safe there with regards to the current pandemic! Love this part of the world & cant wait to stay again!
We had a great stay in the cottage, plenty of space for five of us. The cottage is old and quirky with all the modern day facilities - all in perfect working order. Beautiful gardens with plenty of outdoor seating. The location is an excellent base for exploring North Devon and Cornwall is just up the road. Would definitely stay again.
We all enjoyed ourselves at the farmhouse, although the house did seem rather damp, everything else was up to a good standard.the grounds and swimming pool were very good.
We had a lovely time at Nuide House. The house was spacious yet cosy and we enjoyed exploring the surrounding area. The bottles of Prosecco on arrival were particularly well appreciated! Thanks for everything!
We had a lovely weeks stay here. Beautiful inside and out. We stopped in Dolly's barn which was very spacious and had everything that we needed. The kids loved the play area and grounds. The owners were lovely and very accommodating.
Booked this for a birthday celebration weekend. Very high standard and very spacious accommodation, close to all the sporting facilities and bars and restaurants. Excellent kitchen in the cottage with great views.
We were delighted to find Woodpecker Cottage. It is hard to find a small place to stay that allows 3 dogs. Most that do are much larger and bit too expensive for just two people needing one bedroom. It had everything we were looking for - rural, enclosed garden and plenty of walks while not being too far from a shop. The doggy file in the cottage was so helpful and allowed us to plan some days out. We have already recommended to a friend.
The apartment is very clean & is equipped with all the appliances/utensils you’d expect. All cleaning products are provided & extras like toiletries was nice. We loved the cream tea provided on arrival! The location is fantastic as just across the road from the Beach. However the best thing about the property is the large shared terrace with the amazing views out to sea. All in all a lovely little place.
Beautiful house in a stunning location really peaceful with a very relaxing atmosphere. A very friendly welcome from Jean who shared some of her knowledge about the house and the village with us. Hope to return in the future
we had a fantastic week at Sunnycliffe. The cottage is in a perfect location, close to a range of different beaches and only a 10 to 15 min walk from the centre of Woolacombe. The cottage is comfortable and has everything you need. The view from the balconies is amazing. Loved sitting their with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine!
Enjoyed our stay at this cottage Owners lovely ,the cottage was of a very good standard. The cake and milk supplied was a nice bonus . Fishing ok but this time of the year please make sure you have bite cream with you
Lovely cottage in great location, very spacious With all facilities available. Also takes dogs too. We enjoyed it
Great location, views from all rooms of glens and lochs. Owners only a phone call away with any queries.Very comfortable excellent facilities. Wifi slow/ intermittent.
A wonderful place for a family holiday, the farmhouse is spacious & very equipped. The children loved the large garden & football nets
The Stables is perfect for a group get together. Plenty of room for us all to be together in the lounge, dining room or kitchen yet also enough space to take a quiet spot if the mood takes you. Kitchen so well equipped with plenty of plates etc (so many places only supply 1 place setting per person). We used a private caterer one evening (Le Frog from Tiverton) which was excellent and added to the whole celebration. The views are lovely. Beware no mobile signal but the Wifi was OK. All the bedrooms were lovely and each having its own bathroom is a rarity in large properties. Owners are nearby ...more
The house was perfect for the 6 of us, plenty of space. The location enabled us to walk to the beach, the pubs and the shop. The house was clean and tidy and we got excellent support when we had any queries or a problem.
Ideal situation staying in upper mill while my daughter with her young children stayed in Mill cottage. Swimming pool was beautiful and the ground were ideal for young children to explore and there were places to sit and relax too.
This was a last minute booking for us and what a gem it was to find. Stunning surroundings, so peaceful, the play area was open and was perfect for my 7 and 8 year olds. Just 15 minutes to Woolacombe, plenty to do in the area. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Would recommend.
This is a Lovely location which has plenty of parking. Withypool is a lovely village with a well stocked shop/Post office, tea rooms and pub, less than half a mile away. There is also a river for children to play in.
We loved our stay in Instow beach cottage. The location was perfect - such gorgeous views. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere in Instow and the wonderful sandy beach. The flat had everything we needed and our hosts couldn’t have been more helpful. We travelled as a family of 5 (kids are 11,12,13) and there was plenty of Living space for us. Would definitely return !
Nice house but was a half hour drive to go anywhere. The house was clean by the bathrooms could do with some tidying up (flaking paint in downstairs bathroom and uopstaira bath is very old and can’t be cleaned). Excellent kitchen facilities but photos are misleading - much smaller than expected. The staff accommodation was near the property and we were kept awake a couple of nights due to late night noise. There was also a man (we believe to be a meme we of staff) who had a nasty cough - he had a daily coughing session every minding on the balcony which wasn’t very pleasant to wake up to. W...more
No detail too small for this considerate owner who has thought of every possible detail making for a fabulous stay. I would prefer a gas job but beyond that I can’t fault this beautifully appointed and furnished house.
We had a great week in this cottage my 2 children also had a fantastic time. The cottage was perfect for our needs, clean and comfortable. There was clear instructions and information regarding what had been carried out to deep clean the cottage prior to our arrival and what we needed to do prior to us leaving. We would definitely come back again.
We stayed off peak in disgusting weather. The cottage was a warm haven with a beautiful conservatory. Loved it.
Brilliant cottage, a lovely set-up at the farm, the facilities were really well managed due to coronavirus and keeping all guests on a rota for the swimming pool. The owners were always available on site during the day for any problems, the communal lawns and gardens came in very handy for meeting up with family, we had a very enjoyable holiday and would recommend it to anyone. The Sullivans.
This was our 2nd stay at Oyster Cove and already thinking about our 3rd stay! It had everything we needed ( apart from the weather this time). Lovely having extra beds for our family to join us for a few nights. Garden was great size and caught the sun in the morning by the decking outside the living room and then in the evening by the bbq area. Perfect location only 10 min walk to beach along quiet lanes avoiding the main road.
What a lovely place to stay. The setting was beautiful and peaceful and the cottage was well equipped and cosy too. What a lovely welcome with some delicious cake. There are beautiful walks from the cottage and it is not far from the sea. The village shop has everything you could need and we enjoyed some super meals in the village pub. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would live to return - a great find
We booked here as it is near friends in the area and my 8 year old was excited about the fishing. (Sadly the weather was horrid, so no fishing was done.) We arrived very late after first visiting with our friends and only after entering did we realise we forgot milk for our morning coffee. On a whim, my husband looked in the fridge and saw a small container of milk - what a wonderful and very welcoming extra! The owners also left a box of biscuits, tea, coffee and sugar! The cottage was well appointed, had a comfortable bed and a nice "homey" feel about it. The owners were very welcoming and r...more
Lovely airy house with beautiful views of sunset over the beach Stylishly decorated-especially bedrooms Well equipped kitchen Sun trap in back garden for early evening bbq
This annexe has much to offer, 2 spacious ensuite bedrooms, one with a lovely view. A cosy living room with traditional features of stone and beams though one needs to be standing to see through the window. We were a little disappointed by the kitchen however which is dated and awkward to use being rather narrow and the sink tucked into a corner. It just didn't quite live up to the expectations we had from web site.
Overall a nice house with an incredible view of the sea. About a mile up the hill and not really walkable to the beach (with bags and kids) but this is quite nice as one side of the view from the garden is a relaxing view of the hills and sheep. Rooms nice but the bed mattresses not great - seem pretty cheap and springy. Some of the decor not brilliant - as a DIYer I would have done a much better job at finishing the edging and caulking. They have a nice SONOS system but we couldn’t get it it localise to the TV room/lounge which was a bit annoying in the evenings as we didn’t want to wake th...more
We had a great week at Magnolia View Cottage. It is beautiful both inside and out, very well equipped and perfectly located to access all the best places to visit in North Devon. It is clean and spacious. We would highly recommend.
10 of us (6 plus 4 kids) enjoyed family holiday in this well equipped house. Garden was great too. Wi-intermittently working. No facility for recycling waste. Contrary to advice there is no facility at nearby Morrisons (Newquay) and no facility for collection. We ended up going to the council recycling centre. I am sure some guests would resort to putting in the general waste. For these reasons would say 8 out of 10.
Fantastic location, great facilities Lovely property with everything you need in it. Had a really lovely holiday. Weather certainly helped.
Great location for exploring both Devon & Dorset. To reach the cottage you have to tackle a very narrow lane which can be tricky. We chose the cottage as it allowed dogs. The cottage is very pretty with a lovely garden, rooms are spacious although kitchen could be bigger. The only disappointment were the bathrooms, there was only one shower however it wasn’t fit for purpose, we couldn’t get it to work properly, even after contacting the owners it still didn’t work (no pressure & ran cold) there were two large baths, however the water would only run hot for approximately a minute, not good wh...more
Not an easy review to give. The "Poor" reviews on location and value for money would probably have been "OK" under normal circumstances, but under effective lockdown both location and value for money were not great. Flowing on from that as everything was shut except for Tesco's that took a 2.5 hour round trip, the condition was not good enough in the really wet weather. It really does need decent broadband and/or satellite TV to entertain teenagers; it cost a fortune for a mobile 4G hotspot. The TV also needs updating as you need to work it from the back rather via a remote control. Upsta...more
