we absolutely loved our stay. The cottage was immaculate and the welcome goodies were amazing. Location was perfect , very quiet and relaxing but still close to beaches. Really dog friendly-probably the best dog friendly cottage we’ve ever been to. Thank your
A fabulous holiday cottage, even better than the photos . A generous welcome pack, kind helpful hosts. Our dogs loved the field and the assortment of toys .
From the moment you walk through the door, you realise what a gem this Barn is. The owners have thought of everything you might need to make your holiday perfect. It is also truly dog welcoming, with throws, bowls, toys and treats provided. The location is wonderful, short stroll to the beach and local cafe. Lots to do in the area, we were lucky to do the tour of the Happisburgh lighthouse, really interesting. Can’t wait to return.
A wonderful, relaxing week at The Lobster. We loved absolutely everything about it - a great welcome pack, private path to the stunning beach, luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms & beautifully furnished. It is so well designed inside and out. Our dog really enjoyed the garden and the Charley Chau dog beds provided. We could happily have stayed put all week but did a few trips out to East Ruston Old Vicarage Gardens, Bacton Woods, Eden in Stalham, Smallsticks, Watsons and the Gunton Arms. Another gem, thank you to the owners and team ERC. Really hope to return if we can get booked!
Can’t speak highly enough of east Ruston cottages , our stay at the lookout was amazing, sally the owner went above and beyond for us, can’t wait to go back
Bacton is a lovely area, closer areas are easy to reach. The cabin fitted our needs completely. Close to the beach, lovely cafe nearby and handy convenience store that stocks well.
We just returned from our third stay at Thatched Cottage, and it was, as always, an absolute delight. Paul and Lisa are not just hosts; they have become wonderful friends who make us feel so welcome and cared for from the moment we arrive. Their attention to detail in the cottage is superb—every room is thoughtfully designed and maintained to perfection. Our two furry companions, Smudge the dog and Ollie the 23-year-old cat, also had the time of their lives. It's so rare to find a place that is so welcoming to all of our family members. A highlight of this trip was the private boat trip Paul...more
We’ve just had another wonderful week, the welcome hamper is excellent, the property is very clean, even the dogs beds ! There is nothing that you can improve on , it’s perfect. Lovely patio area the opens up into an enclosed secure paddock. Will be booking for next year !
Fabulous cottage , cosy , clean ,comfortable and well equipped . Welcome basket was amazing and much appreciated . The large smart tv was a great addition too . Trunch is a lovely village , country walks from the cottage and a short drive to the beach . A very dog friendly cottage to which we will definitely return .
We all absolutely loved Jacks Shack. Caroline has thought of everything and the cottage was so well equipped and stocked. The location was perfect for us with everything we needed close by. We were blessed with excellent weather and spent many happy hours on the beach and swimming.
We loved this thatched barn conversion, so much space I doors and out, even a little orchard where we could have our family badminton games. It was very close to 2 lovely beaches and easy travelling distance to The Broads. All you could ever want was provided with a fantastic welcome pack and the loveliest vase of freshly cut home grown flowers.
We normally stay in Bumblebee on the same site but needed extra space. Walnut is charming and very well equipped. There’s been thought put into the decor, equipment and finish. It’s spotlessly clean and its location for beach and countryside walks is perfect. The owners are on site, friendly and discreet. They take a real pride in the place and providing the perfect holiday environment. We will be back, that’s the truth! Back to bumblebee in November!!
Great place especially for my dogs who don't do beach so the enclosed paddock is ideal. We would have preferred a walk in shower instead of the climbing into a bath as we are not youngsters. Overall a great place.
We’ve stayed at the Dormy quite a lot, both in summer and winter and every time we arrive we are as excited as if it’s our first experience. Our dogs are probably more excited than us. They loved jumping out of the van and into the big fenced garden with the visiting rabbits and pigeons - all of which are quickly chased away. Relaxing here is so easy as it’s a bright, airy and comfy living space with a fabulously stocked welcome basket, with all we needed for a yummy cooked breakfast to kick start our holiday. We loved being a few steps from the beach and hearing the waves as the tide came i...more
A fabulous place to stay. The owners have thought of everything to ensure your dog has a wonderful time. Great communication in advance of the stay, including sample itineraries and checking dietary requirements for the welcome pack. The welcome pack was outstanding, so thoughtful. The owners were friendly and welcoming. Attention to detail outstanding. The dog friendly enclosed areas were much appreciated. The patio was a great place to relax after a busy day sight seeing.
We loved our stay at Sandrift. We arrived and there was a roomy driveway to park. Inside it was very welcoming and homely. There was everything that anyone would want. A well equipped kitchen, comfy sofas and comfortable beds. There was an extra large crate for our dog Arthur which saved us taking ours. Arthur loved the front and back gardens which were very secure. I felt confident in letting him out into the gardens without the worry of him escaping. The welcome pack was absolutely amazing with treats for the humans and lovely handmade biscuits for Arthur. It was only a short walk t...more
This is our second visit to this lovely cottage beautifully presented from the moment you arrive the field for the dogs to run in is ideal. Everything has been thought of it’s definitely luxury to a high standard. The welcome hamper for us & our 5 dogs was a lovely touch even included a birthday cake & card. The owners are onsite & are friendly & helpful. The cottage is ideally situated for the beach, wooded walks. Stalham is a couple of miles away which has a supermarket, fish & chip shop & other takeaways also a vet which we have had to use. This accommodation is 1st class!
Lovely cottage within 5 mins walk to the beach and dunes. The property itself was comfortable with a well supplied kitchen. The gift basket was a lovely treat for myself and the dogs.
We loved our stay at Woodpecker Lodge. The accommodation was fantastic with everything we could possibly want and need. Our dog was certainly spoiled with the variety of treats, toys and beds to use and he loved playing in the garden before heading off to the amazing nearby beaches.. The nearby building work did not disturb as when we were in the garden as luckily they were not working nearby whilst we stayed. Overall a fantastic stay and we were really impressed. I’m sure we will be back!
A lovely cottage, full of character. Surrounded by fields. Nice pub nearby. Nearby shop but very little stock (no bread despite suggesting artisan goods). Helpful owner. There were a lot of cobwebs!
We just had another wonderful stay at Hidden Gem. Everything you can think you may need has already been thought of and provided. The garden is a lovely area to relax and catch some sun. Going straight out onto the dunes and beach and with fabulous walks from the door the dogs were living their best lives. Winterton is a lovely village. Pub, cafes, shop and chip shop are all very good. Can't praise the area or Hidden Gem enough. Already plotting our return.
This is an outstanding property … exactly what was needed for our large party + 4 dogs. We had an impromptu ‘dog agility’ event in the spacious garden (soon overtaken by two small children!) and the dining and sitting areas are perfect for a large party. Walks from the door and dog friendly beaches only 10 minutes - what more could we ask for?
Broads Cottage is a lovely place to stay and has very comfortable beds and sofas and 2 great showers and a super deep bath! We were a bit worried about the garden being next to the road through the village but it was so quiet we didn’t need to worry. The dogs were relaxed in the garden and hardly a car or person went past. The garden is secure for most dogs, as long as your dog doesn’t jump or try and escape. Lovely walks along the Broads from the door, beaches just a 15 minute drive away. A friendly small local shop and a dog friendly pub a very short walk away which served great food. Gat...more
We stayed for 3 weeks due to renovation work at home. The hosts were not extremely friendly and accommodating. The property had everything you could possibly need down to the last detail. Our dogs loved it. Close to Bacton Woods, Bacton Beach (dog friendly from the car park) and Pogmey woods. We took trips out to Felbrigg and Blickling and had amazing weather throughout. Peaceful, quiet and perfect.
Absolutely love the Crib - as soon as we enter the lovely garden and house all the stress goes away! It's so comfortable and we enjoy every second.
Lovely annex, well equipped. Tracie was very welcoming. Lovely cake and goodies supplied. Good base to explore the surrounding area.
The farmhouse is a large, dog friendly house with two games rooms. We enjoy our time at the farmhouse this is our second visit we are a small family but this house gets us together and off phones and i pads. Playing Pool and darts are our main games and we have other family members who we visit when in Norfolk so they also come and enjoy the games rooms. When the farmhouse is full of people it’s large enough for everyone to find something to do or find a space for quiet chill out time or a chat.
Our first time in this cottage and we love it! Lots of lovely goodies for the dogs and humans to enjoy. Plenty of room for everyone, the children loved the garden, so did we. The cottage is very comfortable and practical; we all liked the pictures on the walls! Kitchen is so well equipped, which was so helpful with lots to feed. Even had chairs for the beach - so thoughtful. And the games came in handy too. Hope to return to this lovely cottage
The location of this property is great, literally a short walk to the lovely dog friendly beach. The welcome pack is very thoughtful & a nice little touch. You have everything you need for your furry family member & they are free to roam everywhere. Which is one of the main reasons we chose it. The little extras like beach umbrella were appreciated too. I do feel the property could do with a little TLC here & there to freshen it up, as soon parts are looking a little worn & tired. I feel it would be beneficial to have some form of fake grass in the garden for the dogs, although I know th...more
We keep coming back to Winterton. Beachcomber is lovely, everything you need. Rachel's a great host. It's a must!
We loved our stay here. First of all, the cottage is spacious! We came with our 2 German Shepherd dogs and there was plenty of room to move around. The garden was lovely to sit in and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening sunshine. Highly recommend the bakery down the road. The beach is super close which makes for some lovely walks, we visited good old Yarmouth only a short drive away and also Winterton-on-sea which is super pretty. We loved Brigg cottage and would stay again!
Lovely location, very peaceful, but in a central location for visiting both coast and countryside. Lots of walks available from the cottage, along with lots a short car ride away. Very good welcoming pack for both humans and dogs. As dogs are allowed everywhere, it is the first time I've gone away with our dog and not had to worry about where she was going or sitting. A very secure garden, full fenced, so no worries there either.
We absolutely loved our stay at Seaview cottage. Having the beach on our doorstep was perfect for our family. As it is so quiet our nervous dog was able to relax and live his best life; he even came off lead at some points which is totally unheard of. The cottage has everything you need and is in a great location for exploring the area. We love using East Ruston cottages for our doggy holidays and this is definitely one of our favourites so far.
Skylark chalet is excellent for a quiet relaxing holiday. The chalet is on a private estate with enormous grass area for children to play games or benches to just sit and admire the fantastic view of the dunes. The walk through the valley and up the dunes is a strenuous walk for us in our 80’s but the view of the deserted beach beyond is certainly worth it. We stayed for a very warm week during August which saw a few people on the beach, but when walking the dogs early morning and late afternoon we were lucky to see two or three people doing the same. The sunrise is certainly worth getting...more
Trunch is a very quiet peaceful village which suited us fine. Swallowdale was an exceptionally good property, probably the best equipped we had ever rented. The welcome pack was extremely generous and our dog loved the goodies left for him. There was nothing we could fault with this property and we hope to return.
Thatch Cottage is a lovely family home in an amazing location. The garden is great and our dog and nephew loved running around in the space. 15 minute walk to the quiet beach and great walks from the door.
A fantastic week in our happy place. Every detail and more is thought of for you and your dogs . We have a reactive rescue that completely relaxes and chills here . Sue and her team are amazing and we would not stay with anyone other than East Ruston Cottages Already booked for next year . Counting the days to our next holiday.
A really great perfect quiet location! It’s situated in a super area and it’s so peaceful! I thought it was such a crime to not have outdoor furniture so you could eat and chill! The weather was perfect, sunny and hot, but having to eat indoors for breakfast and evening meals was frankly, such a huge massive let down! To not even have such facilities and for the price of the cottage for the week, was not really acceptable! The chairs outside were dam right uncomfortable and not adequate at all! It’s been sometime since the cobwebs were touched and to not provide a bath mat was lethal! The f...more
Had a much needed 5 day break in East Cottage, Walnut Farm, Waxham. It was everything we hoped for. We have an exempt XL Bully and the secure high-fenced (landscaped for us and him) gave us great peace of mind to let him have freedom in the garden. Walks to the beach mapped out on a little welcoming postcard along with walks around the farm. Everywhere was very clean and extremely ‘home from home’ . The Welcoming pack was well-received and enjoyed! If our dog could talk he would say that the owners had definitely thought of his needs too, toys, bowls, treats, lounge rugs and great garden/groun...more
I have stayed in better for the money although a nice cottage . Checking in at 4 and leaving at 10 for a short break is very expensive when you are literally losing two days . Cleaning of a small property shouldn’t take 6 hours when you are asked to strip the beds and wash the dog throws in the washing machine. I wouldn’t pay out for a short stay again but the property was clean and comfortable .
We had a delightful long weekend at Badger's Retreat. We had rain and sun in equal measure but were able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the garden and surrounding area. The road going past it has about one car a day. The Weavers Way is 5 minutes walk away and the beautiful beaches a short drive away. We walked to the Swan in Stalham which was very good and also went to Smallsticks and Poppylands cafes which were excellent. When it rained it was cosy to sit and read in the conservatory. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. The fully enclosed garden was enjoyed by my spaniel too. ...more
This is our second stay in Bristow Barns and we hope to rest many more times! It’s absolutely perfect for reactive dogs as the enclosed garden is very quiet. The surrounding walks are peaceful, we found the wooded garden at nearby Fairhaven perfect for a quiet walk when there is a heatwave.
We went to Vineyard Cottage for a short stay for a treat for my mother in law. Having 5 small dogs between us and not wanting to leave them we were please to find this cottage to house us and our fur babies. The stay was comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed. Customer service was excellent. Was a little bit disappointed when the Tesco delivery driver mentioned that it was an air bnb and when I looked it seemed cheaper to have gone through them. But I never thought to look or compare at the time of booking. Cannot fault the stay at all. Recommend this cottage for your furry vacati...more
We chose Red Roofs because we needed a dog friendly home with four double bedrooms for a family holiday. Jane was fantastic in making sure the house was safe and ready for a toddler and a baby providing a larger travel cot and a baby chair. We arrived early while Jane was there and she was lovely, coming back to bring the baby chair. There was plenty of room for four couples to have a comfortable week and enough space to have time alone if needed. All the beds were incredibly comfortable and the bedrooms were very spacious with lots of storage. The little ones went in the upstairs room with th...more
The house and garden are good for people and dogs who can safely run free, care needed particularly for small dogs at this time of year with lots of grass seeds, our three thought it was great. Teenagers loved paddle boarding and kayaking from the mooring at the end of the garden. Plenty of room in the house for our multi generational family.
Great place, the walks are wonderful, lovely goodies thank you. Only thing negative is the hot water temperature is so hot it was hard to set the shower at a bareable temp. The enclosed garden big bonus. We would stay again.
Lovely peaceful cottage, great location. East Cottage has a beautiful large garden both hoomins & dogs enjoyed. It was lovely to listen to the birds in the garden first thing in the morning. The hot tub was amazing & we had perfect weather with only 1/2 days rain. The beds were incredibly comfortable & we all had a great nights sleep.
