We've just returned from a lovely relaxing stay at Sea Urchin. The property was so clean, in a very peaceful area, had absolutely everything we needed and it's proximity to the beach really was an added bonus. Robert was an excellent host and communication was great. We would usually seek to book accommodation which have gardens with panel/ hedge fencing as one of our dogs is reactive to various sights and sounds, however given the time of year and it not being a busy area, this didn't prove an issue for us. We look forward to staying again in the future.
Hadn’t holidayed with both of our GSD before but this was the perfect place to stay. Accomodation and ameneties were to such a high standard with everything you could possibly need. The addition of a secure field to use throughout the stay was so welcome and lovely walks direct from the door. Would love to stay again soon and would highly recommended, the owners were lovely and communicative before and during the stay when we reached out to them.
Over the years we have had the privilege of staying in many cottages but our holiday at the lookout beat them all. Before the holiday began Sally, the owner ensured we had everything we needed including several videos of how things worked. On entering the lookout we felt our shoulders drop and immediately started to relax. Everything was immaculate, the view from the sunroom was amazing, the enclosed garden was perfect for our two dogs who practically lived on the beach. The hot and cold dog shower was invaluable for removing the sand! We cannot speak highly enough of the standard and facilit...more
We love Bumblebee. It’s a well thought through cottage, comfortable and homely yet with all the mod-cons you could wish for. The standard of finish and cleanliness is to a high standard. It’s located in a lovely area, close to beaches and surrounded by fields. It brings nature to the door and a sense of tranquility. The owners are super helpful, if required, and discreetly in the background. We love it there, been a few times and booked for next year. Bumblebee is well worth a visit.
We had a wonderful week at Malthouse Farm Barn with our 2 doggies. The barn has been beautifully renovated with everything we needed for both us humans and our dogs. The living area is extremely spacious whilst still having a cosy feel. The boot room is equipped with everything we needed and more. The garden is completed enclosed by a high Victorian wall which offers full security for our dogs to run free and protection from a windy day! The brick 'potting shed' has a shower for the dogs which was really useful when returning from a beach or woodland walk. Rick and Ally have really thought of...more
Our 2nd stay at The Peanut didn't disappoint. We received a wonderful welcome pack and presents from our hosts Paul & Stella. It was fabulous to be back in Happisburgh Common for a peaceful, relaxing Beachmas (aka christmas) with long beach walks every day and listening for the Tawny Owls at night. Our 15 month old labrador had fun chasing the seafoam on the beaches at Walcott and Happisburgh and running through the dunes at Winterton, no runs on the beach there as the seals were in residence. We love the peace and tranquility of The Peanut and the onsite dog paddock is a bonus.
1 Paynes Cottage is delightful. It has been sensitively renovated retaining its original features combining with modern living . The welcome hamper was greatly appreciated as were the safe areas where our dog ‘Bertie’ could romp. The cottage had everything we needed during our five night stay although the Broadband/Wifi connection is very slow. The local pub, the Crown inn, was also very welcoming and produced well priced suppers with huge portions!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay Thank you
We had an amazing stay at the Thatched Cottage. It wrapped around us from the minute we arrived, it was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The owners provided a very generous welcome pack and the hot tub was very welcome after a day spent exploring. Could not fault it, we loved it and will be back. Thank you for a fantastic break.
My wife and I (+our dog)booked in for a week’s stay, house is situated right next to the dunes , which took you to a lovely beach. We really enjoyed our stay, house has everything you need, dogs are well catered for, dog bowls, bedding, towels. Stairs are a might steep, especially in the middle of the night, if you need to use the toilet (like I had to) There is a local shop, just around the corner, good local pub, Poppy's cafe come post office do a lovely breakfast. There is great cafe next to the beach, which we used every day, it has a cabin where you can sit and relax and meet other peop...more
We were delighted to arrive at our warm and welcoming accommodation to find a wonderful tray of goodies waiting for us together with starter supplies of tea and coffee. Manor Barn is gorgeous with much attention to detail. Everything we could have wished for was provided. Beds are very comfortable with lovely pillows. Our dogs loved the garden and for us it was a delight to see them enjoying the walks and the nearby beaches. The laminated maps of local walks were much appreciated. We are looking forward to returning!
Our second time here and even better than we remembered. Everything we needed was there. Near to lots of dog friendly beaches Happisburgh, Cart Gap and Sea Palling being our favourites, Winterton is a bit further but definitely worth it. We enjoyed a couple of circular walks from the cottage. Hope to return in the near future
We had an absolutely brilliant holiday at The Walnut. The property had everything we needed, owners are lovely, facilities perfect for us and our young Labrador. Easy driving distance to the beach and Broads. We couldn’t have asked for any more!
From the moment we arrived, we loved Dormy! Fantastic location, so warm and comfortable and everything there we could wish for. The welcome pack was so generous and the dogs loved their treats. Having the beach just a couple of minutes walk away was fabulous, and we spent a lot of time there, plus the open fields at the front made Dormy one of the most peaceful breaks we have had.
This was our second stay here, and it did not disappoint! The cottage was spotlessly clean, superb welcome pack, and as before, exceedingly dog friendly. The facilities ate all you could possibly wish for, and I couldn't recommend it highly enough
This is our second visit to this lovely cottage beautifully presented from the moment you arrive the field for the dogs to run in is ideal. Everything has been thought of it’s definitely luxury to a high standard. The welcome hamper for us & our 5 dogs was a lovely touch even included a birthday cake & card. The owners are onsite & are friendly & helpful. The cottage is ideally situated for the beach, wooded walks. Stalham is a couple of miles away which has a supermarket, fish & chip shop & other takeaways also a vet which we have had to use. This accommodation is 1st class!
We stayed at The Salty Dog from 26th to 20th February. All correspondence from booking to checking out has been easy and any questions were answered quickly. The check in was seamless and we were welcomed to a thoughtful welcome basket, full of treats for the hoomans and our dogs. We stayed with 3 dogs and they were well catered for with everything you would need and more! The accommodation was perfect for us (3 adults) and having two shower rooms was a big bonus as well as being on one level which was a must for my Mum. The lodge was spotlessly clean and you’d never have known dogs had previo...more
This cosy cottage is set up for humans and dogs in equal measure. None of that plastic coated surfaces, the dogs are allowed on the sofa and the beds and its all so warmly furnished. Safe garden, relax with your little escape artist. Lovely hamper for humans and dogs including home made items. Easy to park on the drive, you won't need the car to get to the beach!
Great cottage so easy to get to the dunes which the dogs loved. We recommend Poppy’s the cafe in the village which we visited a few times during our stay also the pub was great very friendly and made the dogs very welcome. Good base for visiting the beautiful broads and other delightful places in Norfolk My only issue was the parking it is a little tight getting in and out when the neighbours cars are parked but we managed
A beautiful and well laid out cottage. Everything you could possibly need was there. The owner has made the place a real home from home. Beds were very comfortable and there was lots of extra bedding and blankets if needed. Fully equipped kitchen with lots of added extras. The owner left us a brilliant welcome pack with lots of treats for us and the dogs.Front and back garden are fully enclosed and great for dogs. The easy access to the beautiful beach was thoroughly enjoyed by the dogs. We used the cosy log burner at night and were provided with logs etc. Overall a lovely relaxing stay and wou...more
I stayed at White Cottage for a week in January with my 2 dogs and some friends. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable and was spotlessly clean and tidy. I really valued having a good sized, fully enclosed, secure garden with no neighbours as one of my dogs is quite reactive. It was lovely to not worry about any distractions or noise from neighbouring gardens etc. Entry to the house is via a large conservatory, which is just brilliant for helping with getting the dogs clean and dry before entering the main house. Inside there is lots of space for everyone - the sitting room is very spa...more
A fabulous property, very clean, spacious, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and everything you need for the dogs. Wonderful welcoming tray and fresh flowers. Excellent location for local walks and nearby beaches are only 15 minutes in the car. Plenty of supermarkets in the locality plus farm shops. We couldn’t have been made to feel any more welcome and would love to go back.
This was our third stay with our fear reactive to other dogs rescue dog Jeff. The accommodation is so comfortable and equipped with every thing both humans and dogs could need. The secure garden is wonderful, Jeff loves it. Jeff loves the countryside walks from the property. There are often no other dogs around at all or if there is one off lead local dog owners are so happy to put their dog back on lead when politely asked. The coast is only a couple of miles away and there are lovely walks only a few miles from the property. The owners are wonderful and so helpful, as is the East Ruston comp...more
We really enjoyed our family break in Bishy Barnabee. Mark and Helen were kind enough to allow our Son plus his family and also our friends to join ourselves, and our daughter and family to join us on the Saturday. The supply of the crate for one of our dogs that had a cruciate ligament op on the Monday before our stay was very much appreciated. The grand children want to come again. You know when that happens it’s been an enjoyable stay
Another fantastic stay at the crib everything was amazing and Helen again had pulled out all the stops again as she always does for her guests
As soon as we walked in to Woodpecker Lodge we knew we would have a great holiday - immaculately clean, with some Christmas decorations, it was immediately inviting. We explored many of the local beaches and towns, loved the local bakery and the Smokehouse. For the dogs, we couldn’t have asked for more with a large assortment of crates, throws on the sofas and spare towels, not to mention a fabulous welcome hamper! There were even some steps to help my old boy up and down from the sofa. Evenings in the hot tub, the added bonus, meant we had a great Christmas break! Definitely recommend.
All Justin (Dad) wanted for his 60th birthday was to spend quality time with our kids, their partners, and the dogs—just making memories together. Three out of our four rescue dogs joined us (they’re family, after all!). Each comes with their own triggers, but none are aggressive—just a bit noisy at times. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome from Tim and Trisha immediately put us at ease and set the tone for a relaxing stay at The Farmhouse. All of our dogs have very different backstories. ReKa is a crossbreed from North Macedonia (possibly an Illyrian Shepherd). Bob is our lit...more
We had a lovely stay in this pretty and well equipped dog-friendly property. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We managed to time our arrival with Storm Amy blowing in, and were delighted that she had ensured the accommodation was toasty warm. Being Norfolk, the sun magically managed to put in an appearance each day. The stunning sandy beach was within walking distance, as was Happisburgh’s iconic lighthouse.
We loved our week at Corner Cottage. It makes such a difference to stay somewhere where dogs are welcomed, not just tolerated. Lots of walks from the house, including to the beach. It was a real bonus having crates available rather than fitting two Labrador size crates into the car. The garden is properly secured and, though it wasn’t quite warm enough for us to sit out, the dogs enjoyed it. There was also a generous welcome basket and great communication with the host. Thank you
We had another fantastic stay at the Beechcomber. I cannot fault this property or its location, we always have an amazing time. Our 3 beautiful dogs love it and the walks are great. We are always sad to go but we will come back again. Customer service is good, easily accessible, the owner always texts upon arrival to check everything is ok and is easily contactable for any queries you may have. Thank you and see you soon.
Second stay at Seaview and we all had an amazing time again. The cottage itself is very cozy and has everything you could need and more. More spacious than it looks from the outside. The beach is a very short walk out the front door and down some steps! The dogs are also well catered for with the bonus of an outside warm shower, good for washing those sandy paws. The human’s can use it too. Nice size secure garden which was well used by our 2 Westies. Leonie left us a beautiful homemade cheesecake to enjoy on arrival which was delicious! We look forward to returning.
Delightful stay at such a lovely cosy cottage. The wood burner created a wonderful atmosphere in the evenings. Everything you could need with the extra benefits of driving in and closing the gate, knowing when you let the dog out he was safe. Fabulous location to visit Northwest Norfolk.
Beautiful. Only problem for us was the stairs. We both have problems with our legs. But was a fantastic place.
Cottage had everything we needed for our stay with a super safe garden for our small dog . So good to stay somewhere dogs are really welcome , towels, bowls and even a packet of treats supplied for them . A tasty welcome pack for us too . The cottage is a few minutes walk from a sandy beach . The Broads are a within a short drive with lots of nature walks .
We came to stay here to visit Thursford which is just 40 mins away. It was great to be able to bring our dogs with us and be able to leave them in the property for a little while. Not all holiday cottage companies let you do this. We also had a recommendation for a dog sitter called The Fairy Dog Lover and she was great. She came to meet us and called to feed them while we were at Thursford. The property was so practical as well with non slip vinyl flooring throughout and access to a secure garden. The welcome pack was also great. Everything you need for a first nights stay and also inc...more
Our 1st new year away to avoid fire works, 4th time at Thatch won’t be our last 6 dogs 6 people perfect family time. Dogs loved the garden perfect for zoomies we loved all the places we can get to easily from there having 6 rescue pups all with different triggers the quiet walks are a blessing. The well equipped kitchen made it easy to eat in every night we took it in turns to cook and we enjoyed doing it perfect family time.
Skylark is a well equipped compact little chalion the Winterton Estate by miles of sandy beach. We were sent loads of info that turned out to be for the whole region so had to be dug through to find out what was actually local. At last minute chose to pack our own bedding on discovering that dog friendly did not include the bed. Lovely week with lots of walks on the beach spotting the seals. Curious to see other chalets for hire and sale on the site. Then discovered we could have booked directly with Winterton for a similar chalet, but with WiFi and a sea view, for £74 less than we had p...more
Lovely cottage well appointed, with fab garden for the dogs. Shame about the weather as wet walks in the surrounding area and the tide was often "in" when it was walk time, due to other commitments, but when the sun finally came out it was stunning. Love the area and will be back..
The bungalow is very aptly located in Lighthouse Close, the view to the lighthouse is spectacular. The bungalow is situated near to the beach with fabulous walks right from the door. The bungalow is well appointed, with plenty of doggy bits and a fabulous wrap around garden which is totally secure. Leonie very kindly baked us a raspberry cheesecake for our arrival it was to die for- thank you. We enjoyed a great week here in a fabulous location.
Had a great 7 nights at the Lodge which catered well for us and our 4 dogs. Very clean and warm, walks from the door to the Weavers Way and not far by car to Bacton woods and Walcott beach. Very happy
Booked East cottage to have a break from the constant mud at home. Had a lovely break. Easy walk to the beach from the cottage. Very clean and comfortable cottage. Kitchen has everything you need to cook - sharp knives, decent pans. Hot tub was excellent. Very peaceful. Would definitely recommend
Really enjoyed our week at this beautifully renovated cottage. Walking the dogs by the marina was a treat for them and us. Local beaches in easy reach by car and many were almost empty and dog friendly. A perfect location for a week away in early autumn
The bungalow was really nice, very clean and with comfy beds. The beach is only a short walk away, and there was always beach there even at high tide. The dogs really loved it. Lovely walks in the area , Bacton Woods and the Weavers Way being two of them.
Our first time at this property, and it was a peaceful retreat from city fireworks for me and Milly. We were made to feel very welcome by Kerry and Kevin - the welcome pack was very generous! The cottage looks out across fields opposite, and the garden is lovely. We were lucky with the weather and afternoons were spent in the conservatory, toasting comfortably, after morning walks on the Weaver's Way and other local footpaths. Such a good week, thank you!
We stayed for 4 nights and had a super time. Nice walks locally and visits to the beaches at Happisburgh and Cart Gap. Great lunch at The Swan at Stalham. The accommodation at Vineyard Cottage was comfortable and warm with everything we needed for us and our two dogs. The garden was great too. We didn’t get to meet the owners but they acted quickly when we asked for an item for the kitchen. A lovely stay and we would definitely return. Thanks
We stayed for a weekend, the property is very well equipped, lots of space inside and outside, if you take dogs the secure field is fantastic and very close to the property. Property is nicely decorated and feels very homely. The lack of lighting at the front of the property at night was lovely in the main bedroom. There were lots of lovely goodies left waiting for you on your arrival. Any problem we had was dealt with promptly. However, points that I feel need raising were as follows: 1.The stairs are not a standard size, the treads are too narrow and coming down them was a problem ...more
We had such a lovely stay at this beautiful dog-friendly holiday cottage. From the moment we arrived, it felt welcoming, cosy and incredibly well thought out. The cottage itself was spotless, comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. What really made it perfect for us was how dog friendly it was. Our dog felt completely at home, and the secure outdoor space meant we could relax knowing they were safe while enjoying the fresh air. It’s not always easy finding places that genuinely cater for dogs, but this one really does The surroundings were peaceful and ideal for l...more
The house is great and the garden is so spacious and perfect for dogs due to being fenced in all the way.
perfect for a great location to stay and adventure to the beach with a lovely walk to it comfy and clean will be going back as secluded garden for dogs
Sunny Cottage is well equipped, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. It is in a quiet location in the heart of Southrepps with pub, shop and parking all only a couple of minutes walk away. It is very dog friendly , I was impressed by the loan of a ramp to help our labrador climb into our car. It gave us an excellent to explore North Norfolk
