We had a lovely winter break at Brian’s Cottage which was one of the most thoughtfully planned places we’ve ever stayed. The attention to detail was brilliant with everything you could need , and more, for both dogs and owners. Clean, comfortable and with a birthday cake , card and sweets for my son on arrival, it really had the personal touch. The location was utterly peaceful with wildlife on the doorstep. The lovely owners were helpful and had gone to great lengths to make us feel welcome. Beyond expectations. We hope to return.
What a beautiful little cottage, perfect for 4 guests plus dogs. Extremely comfortable, stylishly furnished and very clean and nothing has been forgotten. Superb welcome packs for two and four legged guests, how lovely to have the owner’s hens eggs for breakfast on the first morning! The cottage is perfectly positioned to explore the beaches of the Norfolk coast and there is always the safely fenced paddock to give the dogs an extra run. In it’s super tranquil setting, we have returned home relaxed and refreshed. We will definitely return to Lighthouse cottage!
From the moment we walked through the door it felt like home! Comfy and cosy and the layout was perfect for 3 different families to be together yet have their own little bit of space. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need, along with a dishwasher which wasn’t listed on the details and the utility room had lots of supplies for dogs such as spare leads, bowls, throws and old towels. The rear garden could benefit from outside lights so that you can keep an eye on small dogs when out in the dark. The cottage was closer to many different beaches than I thought it would be...more
Decided to have a week away to escape the Xmas leftovers and see in the New Year, East Ruston had just added Manor Barn to their roster so we decided to try this new property, it did not disappoint. The barn is clean, well appointed and, important in the winter months, toasty warm. There was plenty of space for the humans, four of us and loads of lounging for the hounds, all six of them. We look forward to visiting Manor Barn again, ideally in the summer so we can take advantage of the outdoor spaces.
Super comfortable, nice and warm with the fire. 5 min to the beach by car. The dogs loved the holiday, they had so many things for them in the cottage, handmade dog biscuits, extra leads and bowls, bed, crate (if you request one), toys.... We will definitely be back :) Owners very kind and helpful too.
White cottage is in a lovely position in walking distance from the village and beach and driving distance of the beautiful north norfolk coast. The cottage was cosy and everything was provided. It makes such a difference when the owners understand dogs. The dogs were very welcome with beds throws treats and many extras provided. Thank you to the owners at East Ruston Cottages for efficient friendly service.
Our stay at the walnut was wonderful. From the friendly owners Stella and Paul and their lovely dog that also greeted us on arrival. They also left some lovely goodies for us and the dogs which was a lovely gesture. The cottage was very well decorated and well presented. Comfortable beds and sofas. The enclosed patio area had a hot tub which was excellent especially after a long day walking the dogs. It was in an ideal location to access most places and very close to Happisburgh beach. Our dogs had a wonderful holiday and it is so dog friendly. We will definitely return.
Stayed at Ollands Farm Barn and had a fantastic week. Great hosts in Kim and Mary Ann. Barn has a fabulous grassed rear garden and a beautiful front courtyard garden, both totally secure so our 9 bichons could run to their hearts content. Plenty of dog friendly beaches just a few minutes drive away. We will definitely be staying again and recommending the Barn to both dog and non dog holidaymakers
THE most dog friendly place ever. It was absolutely perfect for three sighthounds, all with different needs. Our elderly whippet cross loved the raised beds and going o the pub. The middle aged saluki loved the giant memory foam bed and zoomies on the beach. The podenco loved the throws on the sofas and exploring the clifftops. Can not wait to rebook!
We have used East Ruston Cottages for a number of holidays now but this was our first at Hidden Gem. What a gorgeous little cottage, the owners have thought of everything. Tastefully decorated, very well equipped, lovely and comfortable and a great little log burner that burns beautifully :-) They even supply throws and towels for your dogs. The beach and dunes are straight out of the back door and there is great little coffee shop called Poppy's and the Fishermans Return pub which are both dog friendly and literally a couple of minutes walk away. Winterton itself is delightful. Super friendl...more

Wonderful stay in Heather Cottage Happisburgh. Great location, Cottage is extremely well kept with practical and very "dog friendly" layout. Exceptionally clean, and comfortable. Great Welcome pack for humans and dogs. Very impressed.
We had an amazing Christmas holiday at thatchers cottage in 2019 . So dog friendly and a great location for dogs and us . Cottage has loads of room for 6 dogs and the 9 people that stayed over Christmas ,lovely decorations and tree provided.
A very well equipped, clean and welcoming cottage with lovely comfy beds for us humans. Very dog friendly with a good safe outside space and dog beds & throws provided. The welcome packs for both us and our dogs were very nice and well thought out, providing everything we needed on arrival and a few treats too. Lauren and her family were very welcoming, provided advice on some local walks and were on hand & readily helped when we needed them. We'll definitely be returning to this cottage.
Our stay In Skylark was wonderful. A perfect setting right beside the beach. The walks along the beach for hours were perfect and very relaxing. The ability to walk to cafes and pubs that were dog friendly was just what we wanted. Thank you for a perfect few days away.
Spent a fabulous relaxing week at Holmes house. I've never seen my dogs so relaxed. So quiet and fantastic location.
Lovely stay and perfect for the dogs. Trunch is a really friendly and well located village with easy access to the seaside and the broads. We used the local shop, pub ,and even booked the car in for a service at the garage down the road :-) Farthing Cottage is very cosy and a real home from home. We have booked again with East Ruston but this time we are venturing to a different location after staying here twice
A lovely little cottage, well maintained and comfortable with everything provided you would need to enjoy your stay.
Comfortable cottage with plenty of space and very well equipped. Quiet but not isolated.Good sized garden for the dogs and walkable to the beach or 5 minutes by car.
Lots of room for 5 adults and 12 dogs, everything provided and beautifully kept. Only issue we had was the hot water wasn’t regular but it didn’t inconvenience us enough to call anyone. Would definitely recommend, well suited to dog owners and literally you can see the sea from the drive. Garden is totally enclosed. Open fire makes for a very cosy stay, even in winter.?
After a long and difficult drive in the aftermath of Storm Ciara and the onset of Storm Dennis, we were delighted to finally get into the warmth and comfort of The Lodge. It’s a well designed, well equipped and beautifully decorated cabin with everything you could possibly need, and plenty of space for the two of us and our staffie, Jackson. The inclusion of the sofa bed also meant a friend could join us for a couple of days with her pupper, Roxy. The village of East Ruston is quaint but provides nothing but a pub (The Butchers Arms - dog friendly, decent food, massive portions) and a coup...more
Lovely barn and very well equipped. Warm and cosy although I think it would be very cramped if there were 4 adults. Ideal for a family. Nice and quite and very relaxing. Just wished the garden had been a bit bigger so the dogs could have a run.
Badgers Retreat is a little gem. Terri and Richard have just taken over this little cottage and it was a pleasure to be their first guests. They a lovely, genuine people, who can't do enough to look after their guests. The property itself is ideal for 2 people who want time out to chill out, but is also close enough to local pubs if you fancy some company. We were extremely lucky with the weather, so we were able to go out every day. Not reallisure what you could do if it's bad weather, but we did choose to have a winter break, so you sort of expect it. Badgers Retreat is only about 5 mil...more
We knew it was old fashioned which suited us as a family but it needs some updating/investment. For example; The kitchen units we’re dirty. It’s had its day and needs replacing. There are lots of traditional kitchens in the marketplace which would suit this style of home. Some of the lampshades are very old, and again, in need of updating. Because it does need some investment, it appears a little untidy in places, I’m afraid.
