Bumblebee Cottage is a gorgeous comfy cottage that has everything you need for a relaxing stay in Norfolk. It is very clean and makes it a relaxing stay. The welcome booklet we received prior to stopping was excellent, full of useful tips for the area, details of the property and local amenities. We were warmly greeted by Paul and Stella and they checked in on us throughout our stay ensuring we had everything. We were delighted with our stay in the Peanut. What a cosy place, with a lovely blue colour scheme that was very calming and relaxing. We found a lovely basket of goodies ready for us when we arrived, with several little delightful personal touches.The kitchen area was very well equipped with cooker, dishwasher and fridge freezer all in new condition. We have just spent a wonderful week at Jack's Shack at Winterton. What a wonderful cottage, so comfortable, beautifully looked after and every single thing thought of. We loved the garden. The welcome pack was fantastic, and the dog toy was a special hit with Digby the Spaniel. He couldn't be parted from it all week. Even before our trip the owner, Robert, sent us some directions and info, which was really helpful. We met him at the property & he gave us a quick run down. Kindly put water down for the dogs and then wished us lovely stay. The property was clean & comfortable, with all items provided & accessible. The beach was a 2 minute walk at the side of the property. A small incline and then wow, stunning views and loads of space for the dogs to run off lead. Thank you for the consistently warm welcome. I book the barn because it’s so easy to flop onto the sofa and know that Molly, my ageing rescue dog can find her way around. She’s able to sleep in the living room in sight of us and we get to sleep in a bed that’s equally as comfortable as those at home. That is priceless because if she’s happy, I’m happy. We had such a tricky summer, humans and Molly with significant health problems and we were, at times, uncertain if we’d get here so this was a much needed break. Sandmartins is a bungalow in a quiet cul-de-sac location with easy access to the beach and the Norfolk coast path. The bungalow has everything you need for relaxing stay. The owner has really thought of everything including an outside dog shower, ideal for rinsing sand paws after a walk. The homemade cheesecake on arrival was amazing. Very comfortable and plenty of space for the family. We will be back.
We absolutely loved Oak Cottage. It had everything we needed for us and our two greyhounds. We’re fussy about sleeping arrangements and this suited us (and the dogs) perfectly. Having the beds made up with dog friendly bed linen meant we didn’t have to bring ours with us which was great. Everything was clean, bright and in good condition. My wife Jenny, Springer Spaniel Bertie & myself enjoyed a very relaxing week at the cottage which involved driving around the area, enjoying walks and seeking out lunchtime pubs! For the second year running we had a fabulous meal at the seafood restaurant ‘Ricky Bottoms’ near Cromer. We also enjoyed some evenings in when I cooked although the local pub, the Crown Inn, serves up good value ‘pub grub’. This was the second time we stayed at the Walnut and we had a wonderful time. The owners helped us to settle our rescue dog in and provided us with extra rugs so he could walk around. The hot tub was lovely and we enjoyed the views of open fields whilst we sat in it - we saw deers a couple of times. The dogs loved the secure field. The inside of the cottage is set out well. We took the dogs to cart gap beach and happisburgh beach which are fairly close although due to one of dogs being an older lady we drove there. We look forward to visiting the Walnut again
Our third stay at Oak Tree Cottages, second time at The Lighthouse. It was perfection, again, warm, comfortable, and the best welcome packs for dogs and their humans. Both dogs were slightly overwhelmed by the selection of toys in the toy basket and had to get them all out. There really was nothing more that we could have asked for. We took trips to Cart Gap most days and lunches at Smallsticks were just as good as we remembered , Dave decreed Cart Gap is his favourite beach. Stones Throw is a very clean and comfortable bungalow in a quiet location. The bungalow has a secure garden and is very dog friendly. It’s a short walk to a beautiful beach which was fantastic for our young and energetic dog. Bacton Woods and Pigneys Woods are not far away and perfect for walking during the hot weather. Local cafes, shop, pub, two fish and chip shops and a Chinese takeaway in walking distance. We really enjoyed our visit to North Norfolk very much and would love to return again. Enjoyed our 10 days at “Dormy”. Shoreline and open sandy beach a short walk away and open fields in front of the property with sightings of deer and the first arrival of geese. Good local options to eat out. Short drive to Stalham for supermarket and day boat trips on the Broads.
This has to be the most beautifully equipped cottage we have stayed in out of many places we have visited over the 10 years we've been coming to Norfolk. The Forge is small but perfectly formed as they say! The kitchen is as least as well equipped as our home kitchen with plenty of cutlery and crockery even though it is only designed for 2 people. The bedroom is spacious with plenty of storage and a small ensuite bathroom, For the dogs there was a big pile of toys and treat, beds and bowls and towels. Once again we have thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Bristow Barn, we love the location being a little out of the way we don’t have to worry about our reactive Labrador and we can relax . We will look forward to our fifth visit probably in early autumn. Sheila
RubyGem is a wonderfully placed cottage whose owners have put a great deal of thought into making it the perfect holiday base for humans and their hounds. From the generous and delicious welcome pack goodies to the very comfortable bed you really felt looked after. From previous holidays I know there are many local amusements to suit everyone but this time we just wanted to walk and relax and RubyGem let us do that without needing to use the car! A very secure garden with a great location quiet and close to the beach the owners are just over the road and are very friendly and helpful, the cottage has good facilities a good seating area outside and the garden gets plenty of sun if you are lucky enough to have any. The area is good for dogs it has steps and a slope to the beach that was useful as we have a old dog who is unable to get down the steps the beach has both areas where you can and can't walk dogs but is well sign posted and there is plenty of beach to walk your dogs,
It was our first time at the grove, We had a fabulous welcome pack for the girls and us humans. Well stocked kitchen plenty of cutlery, and cooking pans and trays for the oven if you are eating in which we do mostly even shampoo and toothbrushes if you forget yours, lots of dog toys , the list can go on... It was so clean and wonderful garden lots of outdoor seating everything was absolutely fantastic Pete and Ali have thought of everything Thank you for a wonderful stay and we will be back soon. We have just returned from a wonderful week staying at Hidden Gem in Winterton with our two dogs. The cottage (which we had stayed at some years ago) is perfect. It had everything we needed and is beautifully presented. The location could not be better - we could walk out of the door straight onto the dunes. Lots of great places to visit and very dog friendly. We will definitely be back!

We found Church Field Cottage very clean and tidy with plenty of nice touches for the humans and dogs, everything is very well thought out making for a relaxing holiday. Would definitely recommend and would not hesitate in booking another cottage through East Ruston Cottages Ltd.
Fantastic location and facilities for the dogs, lots of treats for the dogs on arrival and very comfy furnishings. Games room and pool table were a fantastic touch and my teenage son loved it Nice and isolated, but everything still within a short drive. Local beach is fantastic.
Second year return to the property and this visit was just as enjoyable as the first. 6 adults and 7 dogs easily catered for. Good location to get to the many stars of Norfolk. Will return to this property without doubt
Edelweiss is ideally situated to explore the Norfolk coast. As you would expect from an East Ruston Cottage it is very dog friendly. The welcome pack was amazing and the owner is very friendly and helpful. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped for both humans and dogs.
This is our third time here, it’s great for us and super for the dogs. It’s very handy for the beach, the garden is safe and lovely, we especially like the swing. The property is very extremely equipped and comfortable.
Sand Drift is a fantastic place to stay if you want to be in a quiet and peaceful community right next to a fabulous beach. It is truly dog friendly which makes a real difference. My two Ridgebacks were very relaxed at Sand Drift (as was I). Sand Drift has both a front and back garden which worked really well. I chose not to use the car during my stay and it was great to be able to explore without having to drive anywhere. Sand Drift and the local area was exactly as described by ERC and I have been very pleased both with ERC and Sand Drift.
We had the most wonderful week in this beautiful, peaceful cottage - our second time here! It’s in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the beach and within easy reach of so many gorgeous sandy beaches, country parks, walks and the seals at Horsey. The cottage is wonderfully dog-friendly and had everything we needed for a perfect, relaxing stay. A special mention for the incredible homemade gluten-free and vegan cheesecake from our lovely host — absolutely delicious! We would highly recommend this cottage and can’t wait to return.
So looking forward to this holiday after having a bad year so far. On arriving at the site we could see it was being redeveloped, the lodges are on top of each other with a single track road which is impassable for 2 cars, this also makes it difficult to swing into the drive. The lodge it's self was clean and pleasant but far to small for 2 adults and 5 dogs, the photos on the website had made it look bigger than it is. We have just returned home after spending two wonderful weeks at Rooster Barn, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The barn is absolutely stunning — beautifully presented, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. Lovely little house, very clean. Handy location across the road from a shop, cafe & garden centre with huge selection of dog treats. Ten minute walk to the beach (15 minutes if you're stopping for sniffs!), which was beautiful & sandy, and dog-friendly. Lots of cafe's and places to eat - definitely try the bakery & the farm shop nearby. Easy to get to the supermarkets & pleasure beach in Great Yarmouth. Spacious house, with enclosed garden, and lots of useful things for dogs, as well as fully equipped kitchen. Well worth a trip, we will be back!
We have stayed at places managed by East Ruston Cottages many times. They are terrific, always efficient and helpful. We love North Norfolk and its fantastic beaches. Scratby is a small but friendly place. The dogs loved their holiday too. You should try ERC. 10/10!
Couldn’t fault the accommodation, nice spacious living room/kitchen area, comfy bed and large secure garden, perfect for our 2 GSD. Very clean and lovely welcome pack.
Cottage was excellent, and the garden was secure. 3 minute walk from the Lion Inn, which was very dog friendly. The river again was only 3 minute walk away. Lovely walks around the area. 4 adults and 3 dogs, where we never felt hemmed in, as the cottage easily accommodated us all.
The bungalow was ideal for a short break(2 adults & 2 Labradors). The welcome pack was the best ever! The area was really quiet and location good for getting out and about.

We stayed here in September, a lovely and quieter time to visit Norfolk. Thatch cottage is spacious with many nooks and crannies. You need to be aware though that the entrance from the dining room to the kitchen has a very low beam and you will hit your head if tall. Kitchen was very well equipped and we had a lovely food hamper on arrival. East Ruston cottages provided us with the largest crate they have and our dog adapted very well to it, for which many thanks. We had a great week at Badgers Retreat. Kerry and Kev were perfect hosts. 100% dog friendly which allowed us to have a really relaxed week . Our dog Harvey a sprocker spaniel absolutely loved the freedom of the enclosed garden . The welcome pack that the hosts provided us with was very much appreciated. Have had the loveliest of weeks in this small but perfectly formed very peaceful hideaway, cottage was spot on for myself and 2 dogs,, comfortable, well kept, with some nice touches of welcome packs for both mysef and the dogs, The hosts were fab,, there if needed but not intrusive at all. With any number of sandy dog friendly beaches within 30 minutes away,, and Stalham on your doorstep for all the essentials it couldnt be better placed. Will definitely be returning
A wonderful break for us and our hounds We had such a lovely stay at Bishy Barnabee. The site was wonderfully quiet towards the end of the holiday season, and we soon felt relaxed and at home. What really stood out was how welcome our dogs felt. This was our first holiday with East Ruston Cottages. I'd booked having cancelled with another site after receiving a rather unwelcoming message spelling out the dog rules in capital letters. I’m now very glad I did! We have just returned from a long weekend in East Cottage, Waxham. Just wanted to say how brilliant the cottage was, secure garden, the setting on the farm was so peaceful, and the hot tub was just amazing. We had a lovely long walk every morning to Waxham beach and then to Dunes cafe for breakfast!! Every cafe and pub we went to was so dog friendly… I can not recommend the cottage and area enough. We also stopped off at Happisburgh dog park on the way there and back, which again, we would recommend to run some energy off before/after travelling!!
Our first stay at West Cottage and we were not disappointed. Lovely cottage in a peaceful location within easy reach of the quiet beach and a lovely river walk from the door of the cottage. The garden is a large area plenty of room for dogs to play and chill out, for the humans there is a lovely seating area with sun and shade great place t relax. Local amenities and eateries are not far away.
We have been before and love it. Totally secure garden for the dogs. It’s clean and comfortable and a nice quiet short walk to the beach where the seals were hanging out. Only reason for 4 * was no towels and no response on that. Would recommend.
We had a lovely time at Fenside. The bungalow is comfortable and very well equipped, and the bedrooms are all large. The garden was amazing for the dogs, and ourselves. Though be aware that the garden is open to the gate/driveway so the gate needs to be closed at all times (we kept the dogs in when the binmen were due). The fencing is mostly wooden and high so once the gate is closed, even our escape artist rescue dog (springer spaniel sized) was unable to find a way out! Red roofs is just in the most wonderful location - directly opposite the broads and a short stroll to 2 very good pubs. It has the most wonderful and secure back garden which is fabulous for those with dogs. It is an old rambling house so you have to accept some of the shortcomings that come with that but it is a wonderful place for large groups to be able to stay together. If you want all mod cons this isn’t the place for you - but if you want traditional, comfortable, space and the opportunity to slow down, it is 100%
Sunny Cottage was ideal for us. It is centrally located in a quiet village, with a pub and local shop both within a couple of minutes walk, but also only perfectly placed to explore a large area of Norfolk as it's reasonably central and the North coast was only an hour away and the East Coast less than 30 minutes. Access is via an alleyway between two other cottages, with parking a short (2-3 minutes) walk away at the village hall. The cottage itself is cosy, and would probably be crowded with anymore than four people, especially if they brought their canine friends too. The stairs...more
