My friend and I and our four dogs (three Greyhounds and a Pointer) had a lovely stay at The Walnut. Right from the moment you drove through the gates, you could see The Walnut ahead of you and what a fab property it is. The owners Stella and Paul should be extremely proud, especially Paul who did the build. The booklet showing the transformation of an old farm building to The Walnut was very interesting. Paul even had USB power points added around the property and there are plenty of sockets (you can never have too many sockets). The beds and Egyptian cotton bedding were divine. The ...more
Victoria Cottage is so beautifully decorated I wanted to take all the ideas home, our bedroom was sumptuous. We were truly relaxed having our dog there, so many dog friendly booking then say no dogs upstairs this does not work for us. The basket of towels for dogs a great idea, fortunately we did not need them as we had no rain. We appreciated the food goodies there on our arrival, the local farm shop marmalade was delicious. The cottage a was so warm, we did light the fire twice but had to let is go out as it was too hot! We enjoyed a good walk into Happisburg and found the people in t...more
Orchard cottage was faultless. Very comfortable and warm, especially with the log burner. We were extremely pleased with the garden for our 3 dogs and they felt at home as soon as we arrived. It's all about the dogs when we are away so we were really pleased. We was a bit disappointed that we we unable to get directly onto the beach but it wasn't a show stopper as we could walk along the cliff top towards the lifeboat station where we got onto the beach half way down, and the dogs loved it. Good food and beer at the local pub!
We adored this cottage. So comfy for us and our 2 hounds. Everything we could possibly want and the location was absolutely wonderful. Open the back door and you are on the dunes where miles of paths and see views are available for exploring. 3 minutes walk and you are on the beach. 3 minutes out the front door and you are in the middle of a lovely village and amenities such as the village shop. The cottage was geared up for dogs with throws, bowls, hard floors and a small secure garden for those night time outings. We would definitely like to come back....soon.
We stayed during Storm Gareth and a poorly dog and human full of cold so not our usual daily beach walks but we enjoyed the warmth of White Cottage. It’s been two years since we’ve stayed and the improvements to the showers and heating were welcome and we appreciated the extra heat from the wood burner when the wind felt like it was doing it’s best to set flight to the house! The fences remained secure and the garden was a safe space. Thank you for our stay.
We had a wonderfull weeks stay. Our every , thats the pooches too, need catered for. Lots of lovely walks straight from the property and so great to come back to such a lovely warm house, finding snug pubs that welcomed our hounds was an added bonus. Although we only live just an hour down the road it was a perfect getaway for us and we are lookinf forward to a return visit.
Myself and a friend stayed at Holmes House with our six spaniels and had a wonderful, relaxing time. The house was cosy, homely and comfortable and truly dog friendly with enclosed, safe garden and was just set up so we could enjoy and relax. Loved it - didn't want to come home!
We absolutely loved the house and garden from the moment we arrived. The house is really well thought out with everything you could ever need and our 2 dogs loved the garden. Unfortunately our week was a little wet with strong winds but we made use of the open fire a couple of times which was lovely. We didn't want to leave at the end of our week.
Lovely cosy cottage in an idyllic location. Very well equipped and great dog friendly garden. Great circular walks from house. Excellent local pub 'The Star'. Wonderful welcome hamper including produce from local farms. Would highly recommend.
Very comfortable and quiet location just what we needed for a great break, lovely welcome pack. So dog friendly, every thing your dog requires. Ours loved her own welcome pack. Would recommend a stay here lovely walks nearby and also thanks to Dermot for everything
Thatchers is a wonderful house , cosy but spacious. We had the most wonderful time , the house, garden & situation were perfect for 9 of us and our dogs! Arriving alone at dusk to xmas lights & the heating on, homemade cake and fizz was so welcoming especially as I was spending the first night alone with just me and my dogs. I can’t recommend the house and East Rushton cottages enough. Thank you , we will be back.
Had a great week at this well appointed and comfy cottage. Everything that we needed was to hand and the position is great.
Rooster Barn is a beautiful barn conversion in the small village of Trunch. The barn is set back from the road and has it's own parking area with grounds all around which are totally secure for dogs. The barn has absolutely everything you could need and is either dog or rooster themed! Everything is provided including tags for the dogs, throws for the furniture, bowls, and lots of information. The bedrooms are very comfortable. The Crown pub is a short walk away and they were very dog friendly. Many thanks to Danielle for leaving the barn spotless for our arrival and for the welcome food a...more
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in such a beautiful setting. Lots to do and the most friendliest welcome. Worth every penny and would recommend to anyone.
As always a pleasure to stay in another of the east Ruston cottages ,shame it was only for the weekend as we all would have loved it to be longer ,especially the dogs, walks around the fields and along the beaches ,drop in at the local pub for a drink and a bite to eat then back to the cottage to snuggle in for a sleep with mum and dad. The cottage has a wonderful kitchen and is decorated well through out and as always is very dog friendly ,garden was good and will be a nice place to sit when the weather has warmed up. Love the area, love the people (so friendly) can't say anything bad ab...more
Farthing cottage is spacious and comfortable with everything you need provided, plenty of games and books and even a dart board in the garage for those wet days. The rear garden is very secure so if you are bringing dogs it's no problem. The local pub is only a short walk away and has recently become a community run business very friendly and nice food but limited choice at the moment. We did have an issue with the heating / hot water as the boiler had lost pressure, this took a day and a half to get sorted as no one at East Ruston Cottages was responding to our calls or texts, when they fina...more
Had a lovely few days away in a truly dog friendly place. So nice that it is set up to totally accept dog not just tolerate them. All made for a really relaxing stay.
We all (two adults, three dalmatians and an Irish Red & White Setter) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Badger's Retreat. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, warm and well appointed; in fact the sofas were so comfortable we wondered if anyone would notice if we strapped them on the roofrack! There were good walks nearby to exercise the dogs before breakfast, giving us time to plan the rest of our day at our leisure. The garden was secure (for dogs that don't jump; I imagine the 3-foot wall at the front would be no problem for some!) so the dogs could wander in and out without us having to wo...more
We had a fabulous week at Red Roofs. Such an usual location, right next to Hickling Broad down a very quiet lane. I loved the open fire at the house and the Pleasure Boat Inn, nearby, was a lovely welcoming pub.
This is third or 4th time of visiting this property and is ideal for the beach , we had 7 adults and 4 dogs and plenty of room for everyone. We had 4 cars with us and managed to park 3 on the drive and the 4th was ok on road outside.
Nice place ,will recommend to friends ,lovely close to beaches ,dogs loved it.will be back to Norfolk soon
