Attened a wedding we all had a lovely weekemd such a beutiful location everything was great fantastic
Top Notch! Lovely cottage in compelling locations. We could not have had a nicer time. Will certainly go again!
Perfect property and location for meeting up with family. Quiet and comfortable. Looking forward to staying again!
Excellent accommodation close enough to all amenities whilst feeling out of the way to give us the break we needed.
The pictures on the website doesn’t do justice to the place, it’s the most amazing place ever the view is out of this world. Waking up in the huge master bedroom having breakfast on the patio looking at the lake and afternoon tea on our balcony we just didn’t feel the need to go anywhere else. And chilling by the fire pit at night eating s’mores we just want to go back
We had a wonderful stay at Silverholme Manor for our wedding - such a beautiful house in an incredible setting.
The property was comfortable and welcoming. We loved the fire in the evenings. . It was a real bonus having a shop on site. The welcome pack was a thoughtful touch and the swimming pool was fantastic. We really enjoyed having a swim before tea. It is nice being on the quieter side of Windermere and away from it all but the road was a bit narrow and windy. We enjoyed the activities on the estate - we went canoeing and 4x4 off roading. Great fun!
We have stayed many times at this property and it never disappoints. The large paddock is great for the dog to play. The quiet location is perfect and the cottage is ideal for a relaxing, dog-friendly break.
A lovely cottage in a lovely rural location with fabulous views across parkland. Very much enjoyed using the indoor swimming pool and the well stocked on site “farm shop”. Local area very unspoilt with some fabulous pubs/restaurants - thank you for the excellent recommendations. The Graythwaite team were very helpful and efficient. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Little disappointed that we had work men for three days of our holiday. Internet needs improvement. Otherwise a nice stay
Keepers Cottage is a lovely, comfortable, private house in a very pretty and peaceful location. It was perfect for our family. The house has spacious and comfortable bedrooms and lounge/dining area. The only thing lacking is a gate at the front of the property to prevent dogs from escaping.
A very comfortable cottage in an excellent location. Worth noting to use the patio with wonderful views of Windermere you have to walk through the main bedroom as this is an upside down house
We chosen the Windermere for a 3 person break as it was away from the masses that frequent the other side of Windermere lake and it was closer to all the activities we had planned and booked either in the Graythwaite estate or near to it. We were not disappointed by its location and peacefulness, and OMG how peaceful it was, and as for light pollution, hardly any and I’ve got to say we have never seen so many stars, shooting stars or satellites ever. The log fire was a lovely touch too and when the weathers opened was great to have on for that lovely snug feel. The Windermere has a well...more
A delightful and very comfortable cottage in a stunning location. Lovely woodland walks and scenery.
After the pandemic, we booked 4 holiday cottages (Thirlmere, Windermere, Buttermere, and Derwentwater) and my extended family enjoyed an amazing time together. There was so much to do locally and we made the most of the activities on offer with Graythwaite Adventure (Clay Pigeon Shooting, Archery, Stand-up Paddle-boarding, Kayaking.) We also enjoyed a day at Esthwaite and saw the ospreys diving which was spectacular - lovely cafe there too. Go Ape at Grizedale was a short drive away - and the roads on this side of Windermere were relatively quiet. Lovely walking from the doorstep was enjoy...more
For the life of me I could not work out how to switch the oven on. The hob was ok. I am sure it is easy when you know how but if you do not know how then some decent instructions would be useful.
We have stayed at Cunsey Lodge previously, we loved it, and wanted to return, so it was a perfect opportunity to celebrate my husbands birthday. We were not disappointed, spotlessly clean, warm, plenty of room . We had a changeover of guests midway, all clean bed linen and towels delivered, with no hiccups at all. So thank you to Cunsey, and all the staff, for making our stay special.
A nice location for exploring the area and also a lot nice walk from your door step. A nice farm shop next door where can find a lot things with very helpful lady's
we found showering and especially hair washing a minor problem as the water was low power and never got really hot - warm enough but not hot. Otherwise very pleased with the accommodation - spacious and comfortable and with a very well equipped kitchen. Swimming pool and table tennis a hit!
Fitted in ten family members 5-80 to celebrate three of their birthdays and everyone enjoyed themselves.
The cottage is in a fantastic location, very peaceful, and within very easy reach if the lake shore. Rawlinson Nab, along the lake shore path to the south, is a great place to sit and watch the world go by. The cottage itself is comfortable, well equipped, and easy to find, despite being off the beaten track. Couple of things would improve the cottage……….small tables next to the chairs in the lounge so you have somewhere to put a drink and the mattress in the main bedroom was vey bouncy and could be with a change. For some reason the arrival instructions had the wrong key code on them, which n...more
The cottage was in close proximity to Silverholme Manor where we were attending our nephew's wedding. Thanks to the couple in the shop whose local knowledge and willingness to help enabled us to enjoy the wedding without worrying about transport. The couple's recommendations for local trips out would definitely have been useful had we have been staying longer. The staff at Graythwaite were also helpful when accomodating our needs.
We really enjoyed staying at Graythwaite. We booked late and probably didn’t read the details properly of where we were going - we thought we were going to be nearer the lake. We really enjoyed our stay at Bibby Lot with lots of lovely walks and activities for the more adventurous. Note to anyone coming - try to book activities in advance. This area is beautiful and lots of places to explore. The shop was really handy and the frozen meal options delicious when we didn’t feel like cooking. A couple of things would have made us give a higher rating - a king size bed and some updating of some kit...more
A lovely house in a really beautiful spot. Three families with 5 children and a dog fitted in the house comfortably and we appreciated the 2 sitting rooms. The hot tub was fun. The kitchen and dining room are a good size, and the kitchen is very well equipped. We would have liked some smaller drinking glasses. Beds and bedding were very comfortable although we only had one super king size. We were surprised that there were no instructions in the house; not for the heating, the hot tub or the appliances. The estate management were very helpful and we enjoyed several Graythwaite Adventure activ...more
A more modest Graythwaite property than some but in a nice rural position. We stayed during school term time and found it peaceful and relaxing with views outside across fields to Estwaite Water. Fridge is very small and under counter which made our small shopping delivery difficult to fit in. The property would benefit from a refurbishment which we understand has taken place in some of the other properties in this setting. That said we found this property a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay
Adequate provision for family stay. Needs more thorough cleaning and general refresh in the accommodation. More cleaning around the site required. Friendly staff in the shop.
We had such high hopes for the cottage. However, when we got there, the shower tray was flooded, lots of flies crawling and flying around, shower area was very damp as ventilation was not working and there were no windows. WiFi was very poor, and not much thought was put into the decoration. The cutlery is a bit chunky and the nonstick saucepans were scratched. To be fair, they replaced the saucepan and cleared the shower tray almost immediately after I mentioned it to them. The beds were quite comfortable and the location was very peaceful.
Lord's Leap is perhaps one of the lower market accommodations at Graythwaite. It feels a little like a youth hostel. Having said that, it was suitable for our family of 8. The central living room area is big and comfortable, based around a wood burning stove, The dining room table area is roomy enough but didn't have enough chairs for all of the adult in our party. 2 of us had to sit elsewhere for dinner which was a shame. So extra chairs might be a good thing to offer. The double beds are really in need of replacing, as they dip in the middle and make for a very uncomfortable night sleep...more
Great location with lovely walks around the Estate and to Windermere. The accommodation was disappointing given the amount being charged. Needs some investment in updating and redecorating the interior. Good to have the pool but again needs repair, a deep clean and update. A new table tennis table would be a good idea too.
