Jubilee is a detached cottage in the central courtyard and is less than a mile from the shores of Lake Windermere. It is a perfect base for families exploring the Lake District and has easy access to the shared estate faciltiies.

Glad to be back for our 10th visit to the Graythwaite Estate

It was very quiet around the courtyard this year with only a few cottages filled.
Jubilee cottage was clean when we arrived and any issues we had were dealt with swiftly.
We will be back next year .

Great location, lovely cottage, good facilities on site (though the weather was so good we didn’t take advantage of them as much as we might have done!).

Jubilee Cottage was extremely unclean and there were issues with damp and mould in various rooms so we ended up leaving early. Various areas of the cottage have clearly not been cleaned for months and some rooms are in desperate need of renovation. The tap water was brown. Brown bath water and showers were pretty awful. Overall, an extremely bad experience and we feel that the property isn’t fit to let out until extensive renovations and cleaning have taken place! The general admin have refused to provide any management details in order to take the complaint further. A small refund was issued but it definitely wasn’t enough to cover the disappointment of how awful the property was. The estate is advertised as ‘luxury’ so the marketing of the holiday is also completely false.

We had a great weekend in a cottage on the Graythwaite Estate whilst we were guests at a wedding, also on the Estate.
The cottage had comfortable beds and plenty of space. The kitchen and bathrooms were well-equipped.
It was lovely to have other cottages nearby with family staying in them too and to be able to go for walks around the Estate..
A bonus was the indoor swimming pool.
The only downside was the fact that the farm shop was not open when we all arrived on the Friday afternoon, despite opening hours on the website saying that it would be and which some guests had been relying on.
However, overall it was an excellent place to stay, particularly as it was only 20 minutes walk to the wedding venue. Thank you

We have been coming to Graythwaite for 10 years now , usually for our son's birthday . We have been to Jubilee cottage six times I think and love the homely feel and space it has . We used the pool twice and it could do with a revamp with a lick of paint.
The shop is useful for things like fuel but is overpriced for groceries and alcohol , surely it could be cheaper. Laundry a great service especially during the wet weather we had. It was good to see some cottages getting an upgrade .

My 2nd visit to the Graythwaite estate this year. The cottage was well situated in the courtyard which was ideal for a winter stay as close to the pool and the shop. Due to the icy conditions I spent a lot of time exploring the local area on foot. The cottage itself was clean, warm & very comfortable, with an excellent shower. Due to some staff challenges the shop was not open every day, worth checking on arrival as next nearest shops are approx. 5 miles away. Everyone I met / spoke to were very friendly & helpful

Lovely cottage, good location, handy little shop. Would have been nice to have logs and kindle available, we arrived late and luckily the shop re opened for us so we could buy these. Other than that a really enjoyable stay.

We stayed in the Jubilee Cottage in mid August. The Cottage was spacious with a recently renovated kitchen which was clean and well equipped. The Cottage had stunning views from the dining room, lounge and master bedroom. We were a stones throw away from the onsite pool which was a fantastic addition to the estate. Each cottage had their own private allotted 45 minute swim time session which my teenagers loved. The various walks on our doorstep were great as we also brought our dog on holiday with us. The onsite farm shop was well stocked with friendly staff.

However, there are a few things which I would like to flag up to help improve things for future guests. The main issue we had was that there wasn’t a back door into the garden which isn’t noted on the website. This would have been very useful to know due to having a dog. Instead we had to use the front door and walk all the way around to the back of the house which wasn’t ideal especially at night. There was also a strong smell of damp in the cottage, particularly in the downstairs bedroom, so I had to buy a couple of room fresheners to mask the smell. A blind on the front door also needs to be installed for privacy, especially at night as the cottage faces onto the courtyard. There were also no toilet roll holders in any of the three bathrooms which wasn’t ideal and no hooks on the bathroom doors. The blinds in the downstairs and upstairs hallway were broken.

Overall I would highly recommend staying at Graythwaite Estate. The booking process was easy and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It was our first holiday to the Lake District and we had a fantastic holiday.

This cottage is in a courtyard with a number of cottages on the estate. Traditional old local style.

The farm shop and walks on the estate are minutes away. Great walks. Access to kyaks on the lake near too. Booking through to staff on the estate very friendly helpful and welcoming

The accommodation is clean and very well appointed with all you need. Comfortable but not boutique level style, great as a family stay with our dog.

We liked the location service that we have booked another for next year.

Dated, damp, dirty and in need of some serious TLC.

This site was booked based on a previous stay at Grubbings 10 years ago, booked alongside Bassicks as we met with family on our only stay away this year. We had a great time 10 years ago and as such we were looking forward to this stay prior to arrival.

Upon arrival, the first thing we noticed as we entered the property was the distinctive aroma of a nursing home, don't' get me wrong, I don't have anything against nursing homes in general, I just didn't pay to be staying at one on this occasion. It was then that our eyes were met by what one can only describe as drastically dated decor that would've been out of place the day it was installed.
We instantly heard a noticeable rattling / vibrating noise which turned out to be a heater in the downstairs walkway, this noise only stopped when the heater was completely switched off, thus rendering it unusable. This was reported at 16:30 and we were told that no one was available to help and that they would email property services. This ultimately resulted in someone turning up the next day to look at the heater and comment 'oh yes, that's due to be replaced' This became the 'resolution' to this issue, a heater that could not be used unless you enjoyed the monotonous rattling sound.
Broken kitchen tap that didn't allow sufficient flow of hot water to clean with.
Broken blinds in upstairs bathroom and hallway, that did not function correctly.
Stained dirty sitting room carpet, old dishevelled chewed up rug that was used to cover burn marks and holes in the carpet.
The dated decor had been poorly decorated, in one area of the sitting room there was 3 separate strips of woodchip wallpaper that were all slightly different and overlapped, possibly the worst DIY decorating I have seen before.
Front door handle and lock sporadically worked correctly, on one occasion the door decided to open on its own allowing our dog to run out of the property into the carpark at the front.
ENSUITE BATHROOM BIN HAD NOT BEEN EMPTIED FROM THE PREVIOUS STAY, THE CONTENTS INCLUDED A USED CONDOM AND A DIRTY NAPPY. The staff member at the shop yet again emailed the service team (I'm beginning to wonder if this team actually exists) During a time period where hygiene is of the highest importance and a constant reminder this discovery was indeed a disgusting addition to our already long list of concerns with this property and service.
To top it off the Wi-Fi at this site has to be one of the most difficult systems to log on to and stay logged on to, the speeds are questionable and this day and age I don't consider a decent internet speed to be a luxury and certainly not anything out of the ordinary.
All in all we are disappointed at the standard delivered for the cost of the stay.
Due to the above I would appreciate a reply from the responsible party to explain why the above occurred. I would also be looking for a refund and certainly would not entertain a voucher for another stay at this particular site.

It was a very nice cottage but we missed a few items in the kitchen. There were only 5 flat plates and few small glasses. Maybe because it was the end of the season.

Great location with lovely walks around the Estate and to Windermere. The accommodation was disappointing given the amount being charged. Needs some investment in updating and redecorating the interior. Good to have the pool but again needs repair, a deep clean and update. A new table tennis table would be a good idea too.
