Fantastic stay at Eaton Manor - we stayed in Great Western Lodge. What a fantastic little lodge in an incredible area - we were totally blown away by the Shropshire Hills and loved cycling, walking and exploring the area. Great Western Lodge was lovely and all the little extra touches were very appreciated (the fresh milk, local apple juice, amazing coffee, biscuits - so lovely, thank you!) It was great to have the option of the pool - we used this on one occasion. Very easy to book your private 1 hour slot and immaculately clean pool. We would also highly recommend treatments with Adrianna -...more
We used Pheasant walk for a 4 day break whilst visiting family in Shropshire. We didn’t use the facilities on the estate as we were out every day, so can only comment on the location and property. Firstly location which is lovely, set in acres of rural private land. It’s a little off the beaten track so it does tend to take quite a while to get to places, especially if you get lost down the country lanes. Secondly, the property which we couldn’t fault, well equipped and very clean. Not huge and only suitable for couples. The small enclosed courtyard garden was great for the dog when letti...more
Garden Cottage is a beautiful well equipped cottage. The cottage contained everything you might need including a generous welcome pack. Eaton Manor is a little 'off the beaten track' and therefore very quiet and peaceful, however, Church Stretton is only 10 mins drive away with a supermarket, other shops, pubs and restaurants. The estate provides many amenities, including a well equipped games room, games field, a small indoor swimming pool, etc. The cottage is a great location for walkers with both the Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge being close by. A local map and details of self-guided walk...more
A gorgeous spot to stay only three days after release from lockdown and the freedom to stay away overnight. Self-catering, one-bedroom cottage Woodpecker Way is one of the smallest of 12 holiday homes on the 500-acre Eaton Manor estate in Shropshire. A big bed, well-equipped kitchen and private sun trap patio and garden overlooking countryside by Wenlock Edge. Tired of home catering after months of lockdown, we ordered two excellent dinners from the estate’s chosen caterers which were delivered to our fridge and required only heating and serving. So much to do in the area, walks on The Wrekin,...more
We stayed in the Manor House to meet up with family during a brief lockdown restriction window. We had travelled from various areas of England and Southern Scotland & found the location ideal. Other members of the family rented a close by property. Thanks to great weather were able to meet up outdoors for amazing safe walks and made very good use of the pool. The Manor House was an ideal venue for the 80th birthday dinner on Saturday night which was catered for at the house by Oak Apple catering who did an excellent job!
Toad hall, fitted our needs to a tee. We were blessed with good weather and were able to eat outdoors all the time. The situation of the property was ideal, we only left once to walk the Long Mynd, too many people there tho. Toad Hall was so peaceful, we enjoyed walks from the property, due to Covid the Play Barn was closed but badminton and table tennis had been set up in the long barn. All in all we were so very pleased and so enjoyed our stay, very much hoping to visit again. Nichola, John and her team were excellent, nothing was too much trouble.
We spent several days in Curlew Cottage which was very clean "covid prepared" and very comfortable. The location of Eaton Manor is quiet and the gardens etc around the estate are well maintained. Plenty of quiet roads for walks and bikes. The drop off catering company was well worth the cost and had a good selection with more than adequate portions. Having an ensuite for each room was a bonus and the garden provided extra space in addition to the patio. The swimming pool was clean and a reasonable size and the other outside facilities, which we looked at but did not use seemed more than we had...more
The Manor House is beautiful, well appointed and brimming with character. The views of the surrounding countryside are spectacular. The owners are welcoming and lovely. Adrianna provides superb massages with her healing hands and even baked us some delicious fresh bread. Badminton and table tennis was set up in the barn and the swimming pool whilst quite basic and set away from the accommodation, was warm and clean. There are some nice pubs nearby and we also drove further afield for some great restaurants (particularly so as we are vegetarian). We ordered the dine in service one evening which...more
Very good layout for disabled person. Extra equipment supplied to help with showering. Very helpful in that Nichola collected a wheelchair for us from local shop. Swimming pool located at side of garden, great for kids. Badminton and table tennis in good location.
