Beautiful house with a homely feel. Directions to get there were perfect. Fire was lit when we came in the door. The house was clean and comfortable with lovely view.
I recently stayed here with my family and my sisters family having a break away. We were 4 adults and 3 teenagers. This house was such a pleasure to stay in, it was home from home, with all mod cons, very clean and cupboards well stocked with basic household requirements which made it easy to prepare a meal for hungry teenagers. We toured around the local area and enjoyed a lovely boat trip on the Corrib with a local operator "Corrib Cruises". Everything about this accommodation was a positive experience, the beds were really comfy, lots of hot water, lots of space. Would highly r...more
This was a beautiful home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need. The bedrooms were a good size with comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. One thing to mention is that there are no curtains in any of the windows which is wonderful in the living areas. However although you are not overlooked the bedrooms don't have curtains either so if you like a dark room and don't want to be wakened when the sun rises this could be an issue. The owners did have eye masks for use. The living areas are amazing with the most wonderful views and very comfortable sofas to lounge in....more
Well it was our first time in Connemara and first time in this lovely house. The owner is very nice and everything was perfect. Those two weeks were a real pleasure. Would be glad to come back.Very good place to relax. Very good service.
Great house. Clifden is really nearby. Great location to explore Connemara and the pubs in Clifden. We had a great time.
We were absolutely delighted with Apartment 290 - well located, extremely clean, modern furniture and well equipped (although it would be nice to have a mirror in the twin room) - it was everything we needed for our stay in Clifden. The assistance we received when there was a minor problem with the hot water was exceptionally fast and efficient. We will definitely be staying there again next year.
The Apartment was fabulous, we could not believe the magic of the place, stunning accommodation with everything you could need, and the Views were amazing from the Apartment, we really loved it all. All new contents and very comfortable apartment, loads of space and bright rooms with lots of windows, totally private and no noise. Beds are very very comfortable, the views from the en suite bedroom are stunning. The location was stunning, and the bonus of having a fabulous restaurant below us with beautiful food and fabulous staff was huge. All the people in Leenane are lovely, in the ...more
The O'Malley's cottage is magical. The most beautiful possible setting imaginable, overlooking the Cleggan harbor, and surrounded by heathered fields, this is a clean, comfortable, and luxurious house. Our caretaker Mary was so helpful. Our group of five adults used the cottage as a departure point for hiking and biking and it was great to return to such a pleasant and warm home at the end of the day. Cleggan is a sweet town with great restaurants and pubs; for fresh fish, seek out the local fisherman for same day catch (ask at the grocery store). Thank you for a great stay!
Beautiful location, great Cottage, kind owners direcly next door. All the things you must see in Conemara are max 45 - 50 minutes drive away. A really stunning place! Roundstone offers all you need, from petrol, little grocery store to pubs. Don't miss oysters and Guinnes at O'Dowd's.
The best thing about this property is it’s location. Fantastic views while 5 mins drive from all amenities in clifden. It was great to have all rooms ensuite. The kitchen was well stocked and everything worked. The house had good heating and even electric blankets were supplied for my elderly parents . There could be a little more Storage space in the bedrooms and bathrooms but it is manageable. WiFi is poor but then you can’t expect more when in such a remote location
We really appreciate the work that Barbara and Charlie put into the house. The house is beautiful and has tons of space. Barbara and Charlie are very nice and very accommodating. The town is awesome and the neighborhood surrounding the house is quiet and beautiful. Thank you Barbara and Charlie for a wonderful stay!
Everything was exactly as described on the website. Lovely host, lovely cottage with stunning views, great walks along the coasts, wonderful places around to visit. We really enjoyed our holiday! We had a wonderful relaxing time.
very nice house to visit Connemara with friends. We were 8 couples settled in this spacious and very clean house the first week of September. Discrete owners and available.
Excellent house in an amazing location with great facilities but the owner lives on the property which we were unaware of before arrival which we felt should have been highlighted in description
A beautiful clean house with nice views and a large garden. Couldn't have been a better stay! Very friendly landlords.
We were delighted to find this beautiful cottage with valley view. Very spacious living room with two comfortable sofas. Huge kitchen with everything we needed. The owner was very kind and helpful. We were happy to stay and can highly recommend this property. There was nothing we would like to change. If you´re looking for real Irish countryside experience that´s the place you should go. Less than 20mins to Clifden Thanks so much!
The house is perfect. What a pitty that it wasn’t clean... Owners very friendly. Wifi and tv were great but more important, kitchen missed some basic things.
Had a lovely relaxing stay at this beautiful cottage. Great location with short walk to soft sandy beach. Kids loved the horses and donkeys in the fields beside the cottage. Not a long drive to nearby Clifden - which is a lovely town. Great holiday had by all - highly recommend!
The house was rented for a group of visiting friends and it really exceeded my expectations. The location is unbelieveable and the size and condition of the house really more than we were expecting. The online pictures don't do it justice, everything was just fantastic.
The apartment is huge and very light and airy. It is probably one of the best apartments to stay in town in terms of location and it was wonderful to have the big windows so we could sit and watch the trees (and the rain). However, we were a bit disappointed. Just before we left we read reviews online about the hot water and we experienced this for ourselves also. The hot water just isn't hot. In fact it is very cool. There is no way you could have a bath. A shower was bearable. There was only 2 of us staying in the flat, so I dread to think how the system would cope with 6 people. There were ...more
I would certainly recommend this apt. Lovely view over harbour. Close to shop and pub. Very clean and comfortable.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is fantastic, right across the rd from the beach and a stone's throw from Ballyconneelly and other amazing beaches. Mary was really helpful and welcoming and even had the fire lit for us on arrival! The ESB rate was reasonable and the house had everything we needed for a family holiday. Would recommend
A great holiday house, perfect for our family of five. The homeowner Michelle was so friendly and the house was spotless and well very well equipped. We loved our days spent out on the beaches in roundstone and climbing mountains in the national park. The town of clifden also had lovely bars and restaurants.
This cottage is a home from home. We just loved every minute there. Great location, in Tully village. The lady who owns the cottage Ann is so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for her. The cottage itself is pure comfort - great bath, kitchen, dining room, garden, lovely sitting room and comfy beds. We slept so well here. Spotlessly clean. Surrounded by beautiful sunrises/sunsets, views of the ocean, birds singing, what more could you want?!
It's a fab location and the house suits us very well. However I think that 20e per day is exorbitant and that the electricity should be metered. That would not be hard to sort and would be much fairer. This summer it was a joke with those very hot weeks. Why should a renter in July pay for a renter who has a wet week in August. Seriously unfair. The barbeque should be either replaced or thoroughly cleaned it was unusable. A salad spinner would really help. Aside from the above its great
Beautiful location, & perfect for touring Connemara & Mayo. No better way to enjoy breakfast than looking across at the 'Diamond' in Connemara National park.
Nice clean cottage, at first day we had some problem sto find it, but then it was great. Superb equipped house, beautiful location in the middle of a astonishing valley with a great Lake, ideal for trips around to Connemara
Super cosy and spotless accommodation with great kitchen and shower facilities. Neighbours so helpful and kind with insights to the island. We got a sense of the locals (Inishnee and Roundstone) living and appreciating a different pace of life and giving of their time graciously to answer our questions. Lovely walk around Inishnee island (1 hour at a gentle pace) with stunning views of the Twelve Pins mountains. We skipped the Wednesday music night in the Community Centre and, on hearing the reviews, regretted our decision! So that would be our tip to you.
Our stay in this apartement was wery friendly and beautiful. Thanks for the nice time! Sven, Ilka and Friederike from Germany
The TV sat was out of order. No table and only 2 chairs for BBQ in the garden. The door from the kitchen is also out of order. Never the less, everything esle is perfect : very nice and peacefull cottage.
Very homely apartment. Located right on the centre of Clifden, yet round the back of the building overlooking the river, so it was quiet. Great supermarket a couple of minutes walk away. Large terrace with colourful plants and herbs in pots. Car parking for residents at the front of the building, though the spaces weren’t marked very well so we were never sure which space to use. I would recommend this apartment for comfort, convenience and location.
We, a family of 5 (kids age 16, 20, 22), had a wonderful week at this cottage. It's probably the most beautiful place in Connemara. The view is fantastic and the architecture of the house as well. From the house we even saw wonderful rainbows. Communicating with the owner was really easy and nice. A lot of brochures were provided. Three sandy beaches are close by. We found everything we needed, a true home away from home. The "kids" were really happy about the trampoline.
The house is in a lovely spot and has a warm character. It is very quiet and private. You have a great view and the ocean is only 10 min. walk through the field. John is a great host. Who gave us lots of tips for trips. We would love to come again.
Lovely place to stay , second year in a row staying there , Lorna is lovely ,might see you again next year
Great place. 2 things for the next time; 1; definitely should be turf or briquettes for new arrivals. enough to make one fire as often folk arrive late. 2; dishwasher broke down, but not really serious, these things happen. 3; storage heaters always a pain and horribly expensive as I don't believe a soul on earth has any idea how they actually work!!!! essentially a brilliant house, a brilliant place and we are moving in! Best wishes Paki
Stayed for 4 nights in October Very comfortable, well thought out living space. Lovely wee terrace and excellent views Well situated within the village and the village itself being well placed in Connemara for nearby and further afield activities. Worth climbing the hill behind and cycling to clifden. allthingsconnemara were very good on information and ticket booking, so we hired bikes there. Would also mention Frank Acton Garage in Clifden. Were brilliant when we had brake trouble. They fixed the brakes and helped us ensure it did not spoil the holiday Pubs and restaurants in Roundsto...more
We have appreciated all many our stay. The sea view, small fishing port, lobsters and products of the sea, the beauty of the landscape, peaceful life, and the small dogs scroungers, who made the beautiful .. and of course inescapable sheeps in the middle of the peat and the flowery roads .. We like Conemara .. and Ireland generally It has been 2 years since we go there .
Notre séjour dans ce charmant cottage était parfait. Tranquillité, confort, et très bien situé, à mi-chemin entre Galway et Cliffden. La propriétaire nous a réservé un très bon accueil.
The site of this cottage, on the banks of Killary Fjord, makes it a perfect place place to stay. It is clean & comfortable with a wood-burning stove to keep cosy and warm on chilly evenings. A great location to enjoy all that Connemara has to offer.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the cottage. It was a lovely getaway. As we were traveling from overseas and didn’t have a travel plan set up on our mobile device, we found it a bit difficult that we could only communicate with the cottage owner/caretaker by phone. An email address would have been helpful. Also, it would have been helpful to have some instruction manuals left out for some of the appliances as well as the boiler/water heating systems as they were quite different from what we are accustomed to back home. Aside from those technicalities, our cottage stay was wonderful a...more
we have stayed here many times before,to attend the Connemara pony festival.Ideal location for us and we have made many friends in the area.
A great place to stay in Ireland. Wonderful view. The best cottage to stay with your friends or your family.
The location was beautiful and the people of Leenane were lovely and very friendly. The views from the house were spectacular! We had a great time and if I ever decided to live in Ireland it would be in Leenane. The house was nice and had plenty of room. We could have used more towels (2 bath size, a hand towel and wash cloth would have great). Also, we would have been more comfortable if we had more heat (the control for heat was explained to us but it didn't seem to work the way it was timed). Perhaps, we just didn't know what we were doing in regards to the heat and we didn't really t...more
We had a few problems with the cottage but these were dealt with promptly and we spent a lovely week exploring the area. We were a group of three couples and particularly wanted a bathroom each so we were disappointed to find,on arrival, that one of the baths was not able to be used because of a leak. I think this should have been highlighted to us beforehand - it sounded as if it had been out of action for a while. Despite that, we all enjoyed ourselves and were delighted with the local facilities and impressed by the standard of the local shops, pubs and restaurants. Everyone we met was ver...more
Perfect house for a family holiday. Right in the middle of the village. Close to pubs, food, shops, entrance to national park. Big house, loads of space ideal with kids.
A little of the booklet information needed updating/Clarified a bit more and we couldn't find a key to the garage where the bikes were.In the end we had a phone number to chase this if required but it wasn't a big enough issue to do this. It was nice to meet the lady who looks after the property and we had a lovely holiday. The situation is great.
A comfortable stay in an unforgettable location. Lough Fee is as remote as it gets in Connemara and provides easy access to both the Twelve Bens and Maumturks mountains. Glassilaun is a very short drive away - a very atmospheric beach!
1. the immersion switch setting for Bath does not work... so to get hot water you have to set it to Sink. 2. the frying pans are in very poor state and, I would say, probably represent a health risk. 3. the steps leading to the property are a bit dangerous when it's raining. 4. the person who showed me the place (Siobhan) would not win any prizes for customer service
The flat was well catered for and fantastically located but it just needed an extremely good deep clean. Everything else perfect :-)
Roundstone Cottage 236 is a beautiful, and seems to be newly renovated, 3 floor apartment with a lovely view. The cottage consists of most essentials needed for a good stay. There is 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, of which the bathrooms are well equipped with lovely showers, which are sparkly clean and comfortable. Wifi and a dishwasher would have been great to have. We loved the little back terrace and the view of the mountainous area, so a table and chairs to sit there and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the peacefulness of it all would be lovely. We would recommend that when planning...more
Although functional and comfortable, the property and gardens could do with a bit of TLC to make it a very good holiday cottage
The cottage has a very nice furnishing and we liked the surroundings very much. A small map on the directions would have been helpful (e.g. screenshot of Google maps). Thank you very much for the nice stay . :)
Stayed in the cottage for Easter 2018 with 6 adults and our dogs. The cottage is very dog-friendly with tiled floors throughout. Bedrooms were comfortable and there was plenty of fuel for the wood burning stove. No need to bring towels as there is a very well stocked linen cupboard in the lounge. We spent our days walking the dogs on nearby Dogs Bay and Gurteen Beach, followed by lunches in the lovely pubs of Roundstone, which is only a 5 minute drive from the cottage. There’s a well equipped kitchen in the cottage that we appreciated as we stayed in during the evenings. Views from the cottag...more
