We were very comfortable at Bridge View and hope to return. Various walks from the door for all abilities.
Lovely property well-placed for exploring Yorkshire. Owners were very welcoming & the property was very well thought out. Despite blistering temperatures we enjoyed many local attractions; can recommend the White Bear for a special meal ( best to book - we were lucky to get a table as walk-ins).
This was our fourth stay at The Hay Loft, and hopefully it won’t be our last. It’s simply a perfect cottage for two, full of charm and with wonderful hosts. The walled garden and off-street parking is a major bonus.
What a wonderful place to stay with a very generous welcome pack and helpful and friendly hosts. It is located on a quiet road with easy access and we enjoyed the walks around the area and into Ripon, along with trips to many other attractions. The pictures of the cottage are misleading as looking from the front it looks quite small but it is extremely spacious inside with all the rooms extending backwards from the lounge and dining room (at the front) so it has an excellent kitchen, small bedroom with a single bed and then a good sized main bedroom with patio doors leading out onto a quie...more
This is a beautiful, comfortable upside down cottage in the sleepy village of East Witton. Take basics such as milk and tea bags as there is no shop.
This was our second time with Sandra and Les but this time in Beck Side rather than Bridge View. The cottage is beautifully designed, very cosy and comfortable, with every good thing provided for all your needs - including homemade brack! West Burton is becoming our "second home" and Beck Side will be a place to which we will return time and again!
We found the cottage very welcoming with all the little extras that Gill and Steve leave for us. Will recommend to our friends.
A clean, comfortable, cosy cottage in a peaceful village in beautiful surroundings. Perfect for walking and relaxing.
Really nice place in a hamlet, with a green & a pub across the road. The house has been maintained in a traditional manner which we loved!...however others may find it a little old fashioned Plenty of space for families with 2 lounges The kitchen was really well equipped and included a dishwasher, washing machine& tumble dryer A lovely garden and Summer furniture in the garage There is even a pantry in the kitchen, which is great We topped up the bird feeder and saw plenty of birds The mobile signal was intermittent but didnt bother us The bed linen and towels were fresh and...more
We had a wonderful stay in Forge Cottage. Our first visit to Masham, and it was a delight. Great location for walks - either from the town or a short drive to more beautiful countryside. Also for visiting the many historic sites nearby. The cottage was clean, comfortable, well equipped, and spacious for two people. Parking close by in the big market square area was very convenient.
We had a wonderful 5 days stay at this very clean and well equipped cottage. The host was very welcoming and had left a nice gift of cheese and wine. The views are amazing and it's ideally located to visit many nearby places of interest. There are many walks from the cottage. we enjoyed the peacefulness of the surrounding countryside and the sound of curlews, oyster catchers and owls. There are many pubs serving great food – a short drive away. We look forward to returning to this beautiful part of the Dales again soon.
Even after reading the very positive reviews, the flat exceeded our expectations. Furnished and fitted to a very high standard, we also felt this is very much a home for the owners and that it was a place we could relax and feel at home too. We had been slightly worried that the traffic noise from the main road into Hawes might be a nuisance, but the triple-glazing is very effective. We'd also like to add that our visit was during a very hot week, but the flat remained comfortably cool even without fans or air conditioning; simply taking basic measures like closing windows and curtains approp...more
We have been visiting The Rookery for about 14 years now on and off (more on than off) . We have always been greeted and warmly welcomed by Sue on the day we arrive. What's not to love about this place, as soon as we get through those gates it feels like home for the week. It has everything we need and more. We have cooked home made bread in the aga and made some cheese too . We have welcomed two granddaughters over the past 3 years and are making special memories for them. Nadine and Joanne are very approachable and have been more than helpful on many occasions when we've need their help....more
We stayed at this cottage now for the 3rd time within 8 years. The location is calm and a good starting point for different activities. The house is kept clean and well-maintained. It has everything you need. However, some of the doors have warped to such an extent that they either won’t close at all or are very difficult to close. This should be really fixed.
This is an excellent property located near a local waterfall. A good place for walking. However, finding things under cover when it rains means long car trips.
The cottage was lovely surprise. It was indeed a small cottage with a big welcome.the beds were very comfortable, and it was lovely to be woken up by the horses each morning
The cottage was very comfortable well equipped and in a lovely location. The nearby Wensleydale Creamery was really interesting and well worth a visit.
A very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a lovely village. Glorious view from the bedrooms and a hop and a skip from a great pub/ restaurant and the rest of the village amenities. Welcome pack was the best we have had in 40 years of holiday cottages. Highly recommended, the swifts were a joy to watch.
Just what we needed for a few days away Clean cottage but not sure I would like to spend a week though. Relatively few windows in the cottage so not lots of natural daylight
