A first class apartment which as well as being very comfortable and very clean, it is also extremely well furnished with all the requirements and amenities for which one would wish. The owners are very kind and friendly and on hand should anything be required. A super base from where to explore Wensleydale, Coverdale, Swaledale, upper Wharfedale, upper Ribblesdale. and even Teesdale.
Everything you need is here. Somewhere to park. Somewhere to sleep comfortably and quietly. Within walking distance of Ripon Cathedral, canal, museums and shops as well as Fountains Abbey.
Excellent holiday, recommended location to anyone who would like to tour that part of the Yorkshire Dales
Stayed in May and again in September as we were so pleased with everything. Mr Duggan contacted us prior to visiting on both occasions and we were pleased that he provided his contact details (including his address) in his emails. The neighbours are also nice.
We have stayed in numerous self catering cottages and would put Badger's Holt at the top of the list. It was extremely clean and very well equipped. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and well "looked after" during our stay. A beautiful area with plenty to see and do. Highly recommended.
Well equipped cottage, good quality toiletries provided along with luxury towels & bedding. Logs, kitchen roll and all other kitchen necessities including dishwasher and washing machine tablets provided too, new bed SO comfortable. Cannot recommend this spacious, wonderfully clean cottage with its TWO bathrooms enough
Just returned home from our 3rd stay at this lovely cottage and have already booked again. Hilltop cottage is in a beautiful location with amazing views and total peace. The cottage is around 3 miles to the nearest village so will only suit people with transport. It is very well equipped, very clean and comfortable. The owners live next door and do not intrude but are always available in the event of a problem or for a chat. We can't wait for our next visit!
Because of the pandemic my wife and I wanted a change. It appears the cottage we picked was in the ideal location and the cottage fulfilled our needs perfectly. An ideal spot for two people. The cottage was well equipped, very comfortable, and quaint, in keeping with the Dales village. It brought back memories of our younger days, walking and hiking in the Dales. As mentioned the cottage was quaint with one or two low doorways which we had no problem with but tall people may find it awkward. ( Tall over 6ft) We would definitely go there again.
Our second visit here. Beautiful cottage. Our favourite location. Wonderful walks from the doorstep. Cottage has everything you need. Loved the slow cooker so much I brought one for myself and both kids when I got back. The wood burner a real treat for us townies. Thank you will be booking again
A great fortnight spent at Mistake House. Very comfortable and we'll equipped, high quality furnishings and spotlessly clean. Lovely country views from the house and garden, loved star gazing from the upstairs bedroom, and a very peaceful location. Good walks and bike rides from the house and easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and local towns. Enjoyed walking across fields for an excellent Sunday lunch in a village pub. Would love to return.
We recently stayed at Beck Side for a week, the apartment is for 2 people and has been very well thought out. The owners have thought of everything and the apartment is very well equipped with everything you could need for your stay. The furnishings and fittings are of a high standard and it is in a lovely location for exploring the Yorkshire dales. Due to COVID there wasn’t the usual local literature to hand in the cottage but the owner kindly let us borrow some walking literature. There was a welcome pack of eggs, milk, homemade Yorkshire brack and lemon curd which was delicious. The owners ...more
We had a lovely stay at River Cottage. The welcome pack on arrival was much appreciated after a long drive from London. Very comfortable, well equipped accommodation. All appliances easy to use. Convenient location for exploring rural North Yorkshire. Masham itself is a friendly and welcoming community - we were impressed by the sheep show weekend and the market! The brewery on the hill offers a great place to eat whether sampling local beers (or not!). Everyone agreed at the end of our stay that we would love to come back.
This is a lovely cottage in a prime location in Masham. Everything you could possibly need is provided. The cottage is kept spotlessly clean. The owners are nearby if there are any issues and they are lovely. Booking with country hideaways was very easy and efficient. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay here.
The Bield is a fabulous house. It's spacious and comfortable. We loved everything about the property. On arrival we found a welcoming bottle of local milk, cheese and cake. Thornton Rust is central to all the wonderful areas in the Yorkshire Dales. We would certainly recommend this house to others.
Could not rate this property any higher ! It was just perfect for our party of seven adults, a child and a toddler. Grand scale all rooms in a perfect location for a great holiday ‘away from it all’. Good eating just a couple of miles up the road and the market town of Leyburn within easy reach for anything else we needed. We would not hesitate to return to this beautiful property. With many thanks to the owners.
This is the second time we’ve stayed here and its just as good as last year!! We visit the sheep show which we have done for, umpteen years, ideally situated for North Yorkshire for visiting all the fantastic locations on offer. We just love it here. The beautiful cake that was waiting for us was a surprise bonus!!! Thankyou so much for everything.
Last minute couple of nights away, we arrived at 8pm, to lights on and lovely warm cottage. Lovely touch with the welcome tray, fruit loaf, tea, coffee and fresh milk in the fridge. Great location in the village Hawes minutes walk from the centre. The fish and chip shop highly recommended. The Tv remotes can be a bit confusing.
Had a week stay at Cherry Tree cottage. We had everything we needed to hand and the cottage was cosy and clean. West Burton is a lovely place and we have stayed around the area many times. I am sure we will be back again.
Well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The owners go out of their way to try & make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
It's unique position gives easy access to most areas of the Yorkshire dales, there are also several walks right from the door. The cottage itself is fully equipped with the usual cooker, microwave & fridge along with all the utensils and crockery needed. It is spotlessly clean, a cozy suite & carpets on the floor. There is a shower room adjacent to the large bedroom which has a queen size bed and plenty of cupboards/wardrobe. Add to all this a super WiFi and large smart TV and you've got the perfect home from home,,,,
West Burton is a lovely village and this not far from the green. It is clean and the beds very comfortable. The WiFi is excellent for entertainment. Though it doesn't have much of a view or garden it still represents excellent value for money.
A lovely, quiet location just outside the village but still with access to the Nidderdale AONB and surrounding area. The kitchen/dining space and separate lounge provided ample space for our party of four and the welcome pack was appreciated. The enclosed garden was a useful space to allow our dog access to the outdoors without the need to be on constant watch. One area for consideration may be better provision for recycling of glass/plastics etc. as it was unclear how this was to be achieved currently. Overall a very restful and enjoyable week was had by all.
We have stayed previously in this very comfortable, quirky and artistic cottage and look forward to visiting again very soon. Lovey area for walking and plenty of opportunities for sightseeing.
A lovely property in a beautiful village, it had everything needed for a relaxing holiday in the glorious Yorkshire dales. The views were amazing and the sound of running/falling water, especially after a couple of days of rain, was very soothing. The property had everything we needed, in spite of being stripped back for hygiene reasons, and was very comfortable and homely. We were there for a week and even though on our arrival day there was a wedding taking place at the waterfall, our allocated parking space was always available. Would thoroughly recommend The Old Wheelhouse and Country Hide...more
Burnside View is well located on the edge of Hawes town, but within easy walking distance. It is comfortable, spacious, clean, and well equipped. Having a spacious parking space is also a valuable asset. Due to accessing the apartment by stairs, I would suggest this accommodation is not suitable for persons having mobility problems, or young children.
Very pleasant house in lovely village with great amenities = pub with takeout options (beer and food) shop, butcher. tea room, weekly fish and chip van and milk machine, bus service and active village hall. Loads of walks from the door in all directions
Middleham is situated close to Leybrun and Wensleydale and for us made a good base for exploring most of the Dales. There are more central locations but the village with its shop, chippy, and two pubs not to mention a castle that was once home to Richard the third has everything you need. The sound of the local racing stables taking their horses up to be trained on Middleham Low Moor in the mornings adds a lovely feel to the village. The cottage was ideal for myself my wife and our Springer Spaniel. It was clean well maintained and although not the biggest was fine for the three of us. I woul...more
The barn is in a lovely peaceful location. Very clean and well equipped with a fab shower. Alan is a great host and is easily contactable if necessary. Such a kind touch was the surprise of a Welcome Basket which we greatly appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we hope to return again soon.
We are just coming to the end of a wonderful week spent in this amazing quiet property.Enjoyed it so much that I have already booked a week in summer next year.It is perfect with walks to the moors right from your very own door. The interior is so very comfortable, lovely bed with superb bed linen.Very modern shower in a lovely light bathroom. Kitchen appliances are of very good quality and there is everything you need in a modern kitchen. I have had excellent connection for my phone, TV doesnt have brilliant reception but who needs that when you are in a comfortable place and surrounded by...more
