The best. Having stayed in many rental cottages over many years I can honestly say that Cobblestone Cottage is by far the best. The cottage is so welcoming, absolutely spotlessly clean and comprehensively equipped. Comfort level is A1. The owners made us very welcome with assistance on hand if needed. Location wise it is perfect for many of North Yorkshires market towns - including Herriot land - and is around a 20 minute walk into Ripon. Many National Trust properties are also close by plus Newby Hall with it's dolls house and teddy bear museums. Overall I have no hesitation in recommending C...more
Thanks to Sandra and Les for another great stay. Enjoyed the cake and lemon curd as usual. Perfect hosts and accommodation.
We have stayed at Holly Tree Cottage on 14 occasions so that probably sums it up without further comment.
Very enjoyable holiday in very comfortable accommodation. Well located for all local shops, walks and attractions.
A perfect cottage for 2 - every detail has been thought of to make this cottage a lovely welcoming home for guests. The owners live next door and are willingly available should you need them - but are completely unobtrusive. Can very highly recommend.
Cottage was lovely with everything we needed. Good central location for walking or touring by car. Village was friendly and the few shops meant that we didn't need to travel to a supermarket. Really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend to anyone.
As always a great quiet, friendly, and comfortable retreat. Ideal situation fot that part of The Dales.
Beckside was a truly beautiful holiday home.Beautifully clean with every thing you could have wished for. The area around the cottage was really lovely the water fall partially special as 2 days of rain there was so much water. Sandra and Les were really friendly there if you needed them. The welcome pack of milk, eggs, tea, coffee, sugar home made lemon curd and home made Barm Brack. I will highly reccomend Beckside.
What a wonderful place! Pat and Rob were so welcoming, helpful and friendly and the location was absolutely stunning and so peaceful. The cottage was everything, and more, that we could have hoped for; warm, comfortable, extremely clean and really well equipped with thoughtful touches and even space for muddy boots and wet clothing after long, wet walks. There were several beautiful walks straight from the cottage and plenty more to do and see close by. It really was the perfect base from which to relax and explore the area. We are already planning our return trip to such a special plac...more
Shirley is always available. Rained for 72 hours, but the cottage was lovely and warm. Hoping to be able to book next year and that the weather will be better.
Plenty of space for 5 adults and 2 dogs, with all of the amenities we needed. Lovely location in a peaceful and scenic village, very handy for local walks and plenty of village pubs or a short drive for local tourist attractions and towns. An appreciated welcome pack with some tasty treats to enjoy during our stay and a check in call from the owners to make sure everything was okay. Excellent value for money, would definitely recommend Green Bank to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable stay in the Yorkshire Dales.
Great cottage all we needed for peaceful/ relaxing holiday excellent location, clean and comfortable, owner friendly and helpful
School house was very comfortable, kitchen was well equipped. We had cake, cheese and milk left which was very much appreciated. The downside was that no heat came on with the storage heaters and we were cold especially in the mornings, although there was provisions to light the fire which we did on some of the evenings. It would have been helpful if a second handrail had been put in as stairs were very steep. We did enjoy staying there. Keith
Had a great week in Burnside View, very comfortable, clean and spacious. Downstairs was great for leaving walking jackets, boots, sticks, etc. Accommodation has everything you need. Great views front and back. Already booked for next Spring.
A very comfortable cottage, very clean and well maintained. Lots of space, good heating and excellent wifi. Good views across the countryside and lots of walking and cycling from the door, with Ripon, Pateley Bridge and Masham in easy reach. saw deer, rabbits, hares and a barn owl from the house. A very relaxing stay and great value for money.
A Perfect Retreat in the Heart of the Yorkshire Dales ! We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful house in the stunning Yorkshire Dales. From the moment we arrived, I felt completely at home. The house itself is charming, spacious with comfortable seating and lovely fireplaces, was the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring the breathtaking surroundings. If you’re looking for a tranquil escape in one of the most scenic parts of the UK, I can’t recommend this place highly enough. I’ll definitely be returning!
Jo and Nadine at Country Hideaways were very helpful and flexible in sorting out a week in this delightful cottage. Not our first visit to the Dales or this cottage, just love the area and the comfortable cottage. It certainly won’t be our last visit either!
Country Hideaways went above and beyond with a small issue we had with fridge, and we were very impressed with their care.
We have been to Briar Cottage many times. We have, once again, had a great time. The cottage is so welcoming and comfortable in all areas. It really is’ home from home’
What a gem of a property! A lovely, cosy and warm retreat. Stunning location, a short walk to the beautiful cauldron waterfall, magnificent views and backdrop of Penhill. The village has great amenities, catering for most things. Shop, tea room, butchers and pub serving great food and good beer. Enjoyed every second of our stay! Thanks
A lovely spacious, comfortable cottage. Very peaceful and quiet but still within easy access of local attractions. Spent an enjoyable week here, lots to do for the kids, enclosed garden for the kids and dog to play in was fab.
I can't recommend this cottage too highly. It is cosy and warm. It felt homely. We had a bit of trouble sorting out the television on the first night, but someone came over straight away. We only missed the first dance on Strictly.
This property is in a beautiful peaceful location with a spectacular view. Settees very comfortable. Lounge / kitchen / dining area good. Great shower. I slept fairly well, mattress firm but quite comfortable. Internet is a bit unreliable but I guess that what comes of being out in the sticks! The property could definitely do with some drawers in the bedroom. The cushions on the settee were grubby and those on the bed were scruffy with pulled threads on them. The property is superficially clean, but cobwebs in corners and cupboards. Getting a saucepan out of the cupboard me...more
We have stayed quite a few times at Ivy Cottage. We love it and it holds many special memories . For the Welsh it is "cwtch", for the Swede's it is "hygge".
One of the nicest holiday cottages I have stayed in. The interior seemed brand new and the kitchen was very well equipped. Sitting outside in the sunshine, the only sounds are from the birds. The nearest village is only 10 mins drive away and has a superb butchers, which also stocks fruit& veg and cheeses. The local shop sells papers, bread and essentials. Ripon is a short distance away for supermarkets. The cottage is ideally situated to visit the wide range of attractions which that part of Yorkshire has to offer. For those who enjoy walking, Kirkby Malzeard moor is only a couple of ...more
