Great holiday in excellent accommodation with lovely, friendly hosts Sandra & Les. You will want for nothing here in a comfortable, well equipped flat. Easy to find and just a few minutes stroll into the pretty village centre. Special thanks to Sandra for the delicious homemade fruit cake and lemon curd!
An absolute gem of a cottage. Comfortable, spotlessly clean and really well equipped and laid out. The most generous welcome pack I have ever had and I really appreciated the extra touches like Sky and Alexa - a real home from home. Lovely sunny courtyard was perfect for enjoying a glass of wine (and for the dog to potter). Private parking right outside was really convenient. The hosts are lovely and very helpful. I loved my week in Yorkshire and the Hay Loft was the perfect, comfy base for lots of walking (great walks from the door as well as further afield). Thanks!
This was our second stay at the property, the last one being July 2021. The cleanliness, facilities and decor of the property was as good as we had remembered. Cake and Easter eggs was a lovely welcome! Parking straight outside, off road/ on the kerb. One of the main reasons to return is the location of the property in a quiet village with walks straight out of the door- lots of farms, hares, lambs nearby. The nearest main town is Leyburn, 15 minutes away, two good supermarkets. The Wensleydale ice cream parlour is very nearby, strongly recommended. Hawes with the famous Cheese factory...more
ThIs is the first time we’ve stayed at Barton Cottage and I doubt it will be the last. I can only reflect many of the comments in the visitors book, many of whom were returning guests and that it’s a home from home. It’s quirky in a good way and has everything you need for a good, relaxing holiday. Lots of hot water, a comfortable bed and the pub is just across the village Green.
Enjoyed our fifth visit to this spotless, well appointed accommodation in a peaceful yet convenient setting.
Nice accommodation very clean and comfortable.Thank you Sandra & Les for the welcome pack .Not as quiet as we would have liked due to noise from apartment above .View from front windows looking at car park .
Superb accommodation. Perfect location, and wonderful hosts. We would highly recommend Badger's Holt to others. We would love to stay here again.
A delightful cottage ideally situated in North Yorkshire with walks directly from the doorway and plenty to see/visit further afield. Located in a quiet tucked away position yet less than 1 minute walk to Masham's market square. Forge cottage was perfect in every way, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. Many thanks to our hosts for making my birthday week extra special.
Another perfect stay in this idyllic location with most fantastic views. We return most years for our annual top of of Dales beauty and this holiday cottage never disappoints. Thank you for having us once again.
Stairs quite steep could see some people needing 2nd hand rail . Nice to beable to park car outside very central for The Dales many nice local walks
Latest of many stays at Green Bank in the lovely village of West Burton. A lovely large cottage, fully equipped with everything you need. A real home from home. Weather was perfect all week. Had some lovely walks, visited local tearooms and regularly played croquet on the lawn (croquet set supplied). Excellent barbecue weather. Very nice owners who check that everything is ok. Can’t wait for our next visit.
We spent a week in Jesmond Cottage. It was very comfortable and contained everything we needed for our stay. Extra touches, like fresh flowers made us feel very welcome. David is an excellent host, and the cottage is warm, and the beds, towels etc very comfortable and good quality. The village of West Burton is quiet, but is a quintessential Dales village with a pub, butcher and village store and with easy access to prime tourist spots and great walks. We would happily stay at Jesmond Cottage again, and definitely recommend it as a great place to stay in the Yorkshire Dales.
Lion Cottage is excellently located, in the heart of the Dales. It is very cosy and comfortable, providing a perfect base for hiking and exploring the area. We'd came back for more anytime!
This must be at least the sixth time we have stayed at Magnolia cottage in Masham. The owners Neil and Becky are always very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The cottage is perfectly located and has everything we need for a relaxing and comfortable stay in Masham. Masham has so much to offer! We will certainly be planning another visit very soon.
Our group have been meeting each year for 30 years and our stay at the Rookery was one of the very best!
Lovely house so clean and everything we needed peaceful surroundings and thankyou for the good cakes
Spacious and well equipped. South sitting room attractive with its pitch pine ceiling in the morning sunlight, and the back sitting room warm and attractive views over the dale to the north North. Lovely garden to the rear with plenty of seating. Good collection of books.
From the moment we arrived, we were smitten! Such comfy, homely accommodation in the most stunning spot. A great location in easy reach of so many interesting places and wonderful eateries. Beautiful views from almost every window and could listen to the falls all day long. Accommodation had all the home home comforts, and nice welcoming touches. Will definitely stay again. Only complaint was that our stay was not long enough!
I think this is our 10th time back. We just love this place. Nice big rooms, high ceilings, practical kitchen, our own parking space, comfortable beds, yards from the main drag but fabulous country views front and rear.
We enjoyed a comfortable few days away in a good location - the enclosed garden was ideal for the dog
We booked Hazely Cottage for a last minute short break. Always wary of properties available for this at a popular time of year (end of May), but Hazely was a great place to stay. Its a long bungalow layout that has been converted nicely. Great provision of everything you need in the kitchen, no minimal handful of things here, and some tea coffee and milk provided to set you away, this makes a difference. Set right in the delightful West Burton, you can get back and then still have a lovely stroll around yhe Green, or wander to the river/waterfall. What's not to like. For us, if there was one...more
Lovely little cottage in the centre of a beautiful village. It was very well appointed, beautifully clean and very comfortable. It might be a bit of a squeeze for 5 people but as there was only 2 of us it was perfect. The rear patio was great for catching the sun in late afternoon.
We loved staying in The Hay Barn. We had a warm welcome by the owners with a lovely giftbox with treats and a bottle of wine. The cottage has a warm rural atmosphere where everything you need is at hand for a holiday week. A very nice shower, good beds and a very complete kitchen. There is a nice walking trail (4Mile) starting 4km from the cottage. Very beautiful. Also the towns in Yorkshire are a pleasure to visit. Masham is the nearest to the cottage and is a very attractive place with nice shops and pubs.
Superb area to stay, lovely village with decent pub and walks from the door.Reverse layout with bedrooms downstairs gives a lighter feel to the house given it is completely surrounded by other buildings. As advertised, there is a parking space but very tight, reduced further by the need to leave space for neighbours behind to access the alley. Those with anything larger than small hatchbacks will find it necessary to park on the road around the village green. The house was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with a good set of useful pans, which can be a rarity in holiday accommodation....more
The property is situated in a beautiful setting surrounded by the Yorkshire countryside. It is well placed for many attractions, lovely towns and villages and scenic walks. The property is well presented, comfortable and has everything you might need.
We had a wonderful time at Ivy Cottage. It was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need to cook. We stayed over Easter so enjoyed an Easter egg hunt in the beautiful back garden. There is nothing wrong with the condition of the cottage as such it is just outdated and perhaps in need of a little modernisation. The kitchen had obviously been updated and that was in keeping with a cottage but really beautiful. It in noway spoilt the time we spent in the cottage. We have stayed at West Burton before and it is a truly magical place. The kids (and us!) enjo...more
We enjoyed our stay, the barn is very spacious for two and our dog. Had all the amenities we needed. Nice base for walking and getting out on the moor. We missed having a garden but was ok for the few days we stayed.
