We really enjoyed staying in this warm and cosy apartment. It was perfect for a short break in January. The apartment is extremely well-equipped and very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the log burner, the two ensuites, the books and guidebooks available and the convenient parking. The owners live next door and are very friendly and welcoming. The fruitcake and lemon curd gifts were delicious! The apartment is in a very convenient position to access different areas of the Yorkshire Dales.
The pleasant early Spring visit we've just enjoyed staying at Cobblestone Cottage really did "tick all the boxes" - we were so warmly welcomed, felt as comfortable and warm as one could wish and nearby walks into Ripon and up to Fountains Abbey were a real joy in the sunshine. Further afield we revisited Thorp Perrow, carpeted with daffodils amidst the countless magnificent trees. We came home refreshed - thank you.
Spent a week at Badgers Holt and had an excellent time Was visiting with my wife and son Accommoation was first class and highly recommended. Town centre was just a short walk and provided all necessary services Many interesting walks from the property most notably along the River Ure Will hopefully return
My husband and I stayed here for Christmas again and it was perfect. Got tickets for Ripon Cathederal carol service and that was so very special. Such a memorable time, lots of singing and fun. Totally recommend. The Hay Loft is close to everything you need and a lot of special days out. Everything you need is provided in the cottage and Katherine and Peter are there to welcome you. You also get a welcome basket of goodies. Thank you so much, we will be back. Jackie and Chris xxx
Lovely clean and comfortable cottage with off street parking. Kitchen was really well equipped. Great area for walking with walks direct from the door. Good pubs within walking distance.
This was our second time with Sandra and Les but this time in Beck Side rather than Bridge View. The cottage is beautifully designed, very cosy and comfortable, with every good thing provided for all your needs - including homemade brack! West Burton is becoming our "second home" and Beck Side will be a place to which we will return time and again!
We keep returning to this same property whenever we visit the Dales. It is very well equipped, comfortable and above all, amazing value for a family holiday. Thank you Lynda and David.
Imagine your dream of a cottage in the country and you find most of it in Barton, friendly owners nearby, quiet setting, log fire, big comfortable bed, all mod cons for self catering, village green view, Inn, shop and cafe over the road, waterfall on entrance to the village, plenty of walks and quiet roads, lovely.
Jesmond Cottage is the perfect home from home where every little detail for a comfortable stay has been thought of. Situated in the beautiful and peaceful West Burton it’s a great location to be based. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the cottage and booking through Country Hideaways was very straightforward and we would definitely book though them again.
Another lovely stay in Forge Cottage. A perfect place for two! Cosy, warm and has everything we need. Couldn't be nearer to the Market place with shops and places to eat. Delicious meals at the King's Head, White Bear Inn, Johnny Bagdad's and Harry's Chippy Shirley and David are perfect hosts, easy to contact. We will be back in September.
Very nice cosy cottage with a stunning hillside view. Very well equipped and helpful host next door.
Love this flat. Part of a big old house, perfectly positioned close to Hawes (300 m walk) and with off street parking space. Rooms are large, elegant and comfy. Beds great. Has bath and shower. Owners are available if needed by phone. Lambs in the fields back and front this time, sweet to watch!
Lovely cosy, clean cottage, in a great location. Stayed over Christmas and enjoyed walks every day and carols round the tree in the square, on Christmas Eve. There are 3 good pubs and a nice cafe, a few minutes walk away. The little goodies of cake, cheese etc.. left for us when we arrived, were much appreciated. Would definitely recommend.
This is our sixth time we have visited here and we love it more each time we visit! Thank you so much ...we will be back next year!
This is an excellent property located near a local waterfall. A good place for walking. However, finding things under cover when it rains means long car trips.
We have stayed at Briar Cottage so many times there can't be much wrong with it.It seems like home from home and have now made friends there.
Nothing lacking in the cottage. Fantastic location, beds very comfortable, lovely and quiet, home form home.
We stay at the Hay Barn during firework time because we have a dog that is terrified of bangs. A great place and the Landlord (next door) is a lovely chap. If you don’t like hustle and bustle it is an ideal place to stay.
We love staying in the Dales and have visited Askrigg many times. It's great to see a new cottage with Country Hideaways that allows dogs as it means my mum could bring her little spaniel. The 4 of us (dog included) had a great week here enjoying 6 nice days of weather and one day of heavy rain to pep up the waterfalls. Really dark skies most nights which makes for great stargazing (my binoculars came in handy). The cottage had almost everything we need (we brought our own slow cooker as we knew there wasn't one) and the little things for dogs (treats, poo bags, towels) were very thoughtful. W...more
