We were very comfortable at Bridge View and hope to return. Various walks from the door for all abilities.
We stayed for a week in September. The house was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Masham has a good variety or shops and pubs right on your doorstep. Some great local walks too. Highly recommended.
This was our fourth stay at The Hay Loft, and hopefully it won’t be our last. It’s simply a perfect cottage for two, full of charm and with wonderful hosts. The walled garden and off-street parking is a major bonus.
What a wonderful place to stay with a very generous welcome pack and helpful and friendly hosts. It is located on a quiet road with easy access and we enjoyed the walks around the area and into Ripon, along with trips to many other attractions. The pictures of the cottage are misleading as looking from the front it looks quite small but it is extremely spacious inside with all the rooms extending backwards from the lounge and dining room (at the front) so it has an excellent kitchen, small bedroom with a single bed and then a good sized main bedroom with patio doors leading out onto a quie...more
This is a beautiful, comfortable upside down cottage in the sleepy village of East Witton. Take basics such as milk and tea bags as there is no shop.
This was our second time with Sandra and Les but this time in Beck Side rather than Bridge View. The cottage is beautifully designed, very cosy and comfortable, with every good thing provided for all your needs - including homemade brack! West Burton is becoming our "second home" and Beck Side will be a place to which we will return time and again!

Really loved our week in this beautifully restored cottage with quality fixtures and fittings, furnishings and household items. Lots of walks in every direction from the cottage and well positioned for visiting Ripon, Fountains Abbey and Studley Water Gardens, Leyburn, Middleham Castle and pottering around Nidderdale and. Wensleydale. Being used to small town markets in France, the Masham Market was slightly disappointing but that in no way detracted from our enjoyment overall. Good food at The White Bear. No 12 a super local shop.

Another great stay. Have stayed here three times before. Location excellent for all local amenities and walks. Excellent addition is being able to leave all coats and shoes down stairs so not taking wet coats and shoes upstairs. Had problem with Internet which housekeeper and owner sorted promptly. Property has everything you would need in he kitchen. Plenty of hot water and didn't need the heating. Only negative were cobwebs and spiders but expect this in the countryside and property hadn't had anyone in for a few weeks before our visit
This is an amazing place in a stunningly beautiful bucolic setting. The house is great, the history is great, the location is remote but not too remote, and there are all sorts of things to see and visit within an hour drive in any direction At night it is silent except for the occasional bleat of a sheep far away. I encourage you to stay at this place while it is still available, since in some ways it seems too good to be true. Great place for kids too. Very safe and lots of outdoor space to play and explore. I plan to come back someday if I can.
We stayed at this cottage now for the 3rd time within 8 years. The location is calm and a good starting point for different activities. The house is kept clean and well-maintained. It has everything you need. However, some of the doors have warped to such an extent that they either won’t close at all or are very difficult to close. This should be really fixed.
This is an excellent property located near a local waterfall. A good place for walking. However, finding things under cover when it rains means long car trips.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Briar Cottage. It was very well equipped, attractively decorated, clean and tidy. The cottage was great for the morning sun at the front, where I would sit with my cup of tea and watch the horses go to and from the gallops; and then on the rear patio for the evening sun, with a glass of something! There was always plenty of hot water for the washing up (no dishwasher); and the shower. We used the double room and we slept well. The cottage was very comfortable well equipped and in a lovely location. The nearby Wensleydale Creamery was really interesting and well worth a visit.
A very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a lovely village. Glorious view from the bedrooms and a hop and a skip from a great pub/ restaurant and the rest of the village amenities. Welcome pack was the best we have had in 40 years of holiday cottages. Highly recommended, the swifts were a joy to watch.
Lovely cottage in a quiet location. Very well equipped, but needs a bath mat if you are showering. Excellent food at the Street Head Inn, 10 minutes walk away.
