We can’t rate Ruskin’s View Cottage highly enough! We had a delightful stay in early September and felt at home the moment we walked through the door. The cottage is very well located in a private, quiet but convenient area within Kirkby Lonsdale- all the wonderful amenities in the town are just a few minutes walk away. The great location of the cottage also meant that we were able to explore a number of walks into the countryside directly from the front door- with longer walks in the Dales and Lakes only a short drive away. The cottage was exceptionally clean, well maintained, and wonderfull...more
A beautifully restored cottage in a lovely location on the edge of Barbon. Excellently fitted out with high quality fixtures, fittings and equipment. Enjoyed a relaxing break in great surroundings, inside and out.
We found New Thornber a brilliantly designed, decorated and equipped property with extremely comfortable furnishings and numerous extras such as fresh flowers, maps, books and generous provisions. Its situation was glorious with fantastic views all round beyond its own beautifully planted and cared for patio garden. It was immaculately kept and we could not have been more satisfied on every level. We did not need assistance or support but were confident that this would have been instantly forthcoming given the warm welcome, reassurance and exceptionally helpful information provided by the owne...more
Fantastic, luxurious, met all are expectations. We look forward to going again in the near future. Best place we have stayed.
We had a wonderful stay in Grouse Hall, brought back so many family memories...if you want to get away from everything and get back to nature this is the place to stay!!!! Accommodation first class, so much room...loved the utility area..so practical... All mark as 5...can't do it for some reason..♀️
We could have stayed here forever. The House is blissful, serene and beautifully renovated. Our dog loved the enclosed garden. Highly recommended to anyone looking to switch off from day-to-day life.
What can we say about the Cow Shed?! - It was just stunning from the moment we got there to the moment we left. On arrival •word of advice - Do follow the directional instructions provided as these were really helpful in knowing which little single track road to turn down and where we needed to park when we arrived as there is more than one cottage. From the moment we got there, it was better than the photos! - Totally stunning and serene and even though it was raining a bit, we got straight in the hot tub with a glass of Champagne (make sure to use the plastic ones provided, not glass!) ...more
A lovely short stay with our dogs for a wedding in Casterton. Howgills Barn was perfect and our host so helpful.
This was our 4th stay at Mill house cottages and ‘The dog house’ was our bit of luxury. We had a lovely week , lots of local walks followed by some relaxation in the hot tub, bliss! We will definitely be returning . Gillian and Ian from West Yorkshire
Great place to stay, very comfortable, well furnished and great location. Lovely comfortable beds and really enjoyed the morning visits from the ducks on the lake
We booked very last minute but everything went smoothly and we were really pleased with our stay. The Barn was spotlessly clean and very welcoming, we were comfortable the whole week. The lane was fairly narrow which might have been awkward if we’d met anyone coming the other way, but fortunately we never did! This was our second holiday with Millhouse and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them, anyone you deal with is very friendly and helpful- and the properties are amazing.
The stables were lovely we had a great time with our two children for a few days in lancashire. The stables were clean comfortable warm And bright and exceeded our expectations. The hot tub was a fun addition!
This is our second time at the Pavilion and we had another great week overall. We had an issue with no heating on the first evening but Tony was quick to rectify it for us on day 2, excellent customer service. The dog loved the garden, and spent lots of time out there watching squirrels, birds, sheep and chasing rabbits. Although the garden was freshly mowed, the cuttings had not been cleared and we found we were walking grass in to the property which was not ideal We had to sweep up several times a day because of this which was not ideal. A small dust pan and brush and mat at the side entr...more
We have just returned from our third stay at Park House Cottage in so many years, and thoroughly enjoyed it as usual - despite poor weather. The cottage was warm, cosy and comfortable and well equipped for all the catering we wanted to do. The situation of the cottage is delightful, so many wonderful trees and well-kept grassy areas, and plants in pots. The 'wild' area across the road was a so pretty at this time of year. There are several lovely walks to do right on the doorstep. Kirkby Lonsdale, just a few miles away, has some nice cafes etc.and a good supermarket for provisions. Altoget...more
We stayed for a 3 night stop heading up to the Highlands from London, and wish we stayed here for longer! The cottage was perfect and the views out the garden were amazing, even the rain couldn't affect it! We will be back!
We have stayed in this house 5 or 6 times and enjoyed each visit. The accommodation is warm and comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped, good quality sheets and towels and just a lovely place to spend a few days or a longer holiday. We shall be back.
Lovely cottage, beautiful surroundings. Would highly recommend We felt there coukd be another tv in the kitchen lounge,
We had a fab few days at the barn. Modern new, clean holiday let. The bedrooms are very small with very little storage / hangers and a lack of coat/ towel hooks! The Owner could not have been nicer and more willing to make our stay more enjoyable - overall a very pleasant stay.
We always enjoy our time coming up to Kirkby Lonsdale & this is our second time in Brontë House which is comfortable & well presented. The one thing that disappoints us is the small things of not even a bottle of water or any milk just to make a drink after your journey. Sometimes it’s the little things you appreciate but it didn’t spoil our time there.
