A comfortable and stylishly renovated barn where we enjoyed a 3 night break. Close to Sedbergh which has a good coffee shop and some independent shops. Weather was rather wet so were not able to make the most of the bi-fold doors onto a lovely decking but great views.

We loved the barn. It is secluded and charming. Romantic and cozy. It is good for a couple and maybe with very young children. The place is small but perfectly equipped

Despite the rain we had a lovely week at this cosy barn. It was the perfect base for both the dales and the lakes. The barn is one of the best we have ever stayed in and if you are looking for a place to relax and chill this is the one for you.

We stayed at the Barn for a week in September. It was a very late booking, but from the outset the customer service at MillHouse Cottages was second to none, very friendly, efficient & helpful. The Barn itself is amazing, it has been converted to a very high standard & so tastefully decorated. Comfortable & welcoming, the Barn was scrupulously clean on arrival and we didn’t want to leave! A nice touch was the welcome pack & there was everything we needed within. Located in a peaceful & beautiful rural location, but lovely villages nearby, so much to see and do. We’d certainly recommend the Barn & MillHouse Cottages and we will be using them again with no hesitation. Thank you !

The cottage was lovely - immaculately clean, very well equipped and thoughtfully designed so you can relax and unwind. We loved having the lambs and sheep just in front and being in a lovely silent space, yet close to lots of great walks, etc.

We had such a lovely stay at Foxhole Rigg bar - the barn was immaculate and had everything you needed to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside.

Will definitely be back again!

We had a wonderful 5 nights at the barn, it was incredibly clean and comfortable. We found we needed a few more mugs/tea cups for hot drinks but apart from that we couldn't fault it. Two great meals at the Dalesman pub in Sedbergh.

We enjoyed our stay in the Barn which was well presented and beautifully clean. The bed and sofa were very comfortable and lovely to relax in at the end of the day. The location was perfect for visiting the Lakes and Western Dales and with Sedbergh so close by all amenities to hand. Even though we had originally planned to stay in a market town we loved the peace and quiet and beauty of the surrounding hills.

An absolute idyllic spot half way up a Yorkshire Dale at the end of a step narrow single track that opens out with parking for several cars. The last bit of the track is not concreted and has some quite deep holes so be prepared to drive carefully.
This accommodation could not be more relaxing or peaceful with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Furnished to a very high standard, with the double bedroom and shower room downstairs and the second bedroom with bunkbeds upstairs. The outside patio area is fantastic to sit and admire the views and then snuggle by the log burner in the evenings.
Ideal for those wanting something more isolated and private with complete peace and quiet. The village of Sedbergh is a short ride away, with several good pubs and places to eat and a supermarket.

I wonder what kind of review to leave, do I lie and say it was a terrible property in a bad area and keep it as a secret now that’s a dilemma.

I have to say the accommodation was extremely clean, a check list was left to show you what had been done.

Even with covid there was a nice welcome basket with wine and biscuits.

Everything you would need is catered for with the very best electric equipment and top of the range appliances.

The view from the property is Fanta down we were able to sit on the deck and see Hare’s, Deer and of course sheep.

Accessibility is good to with a lane up to the property and even the sat nav took me right to the front door.

There really are no negative points to say about this property, but what would you expect when you book with Mill House Cottages.

The location of the cottage is wonderful and you are right between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. So it’s ideal if you want to explore, but there are great walks in the local area.

What a dream of a place to stay. Beautiful Barn, everything you need for a pleasant stay. Beautiful location, away from it all. Easy access to many places though!so grateful for the thick walls of the Barn in the current heat!

Lovely cottage in a relaxing, peaceful location. Cottage fitted out to a high standard with everything you need.
Walks are possible from the cottage but slopes down to the river are challenging.
Good location for visiting local area and Lake District.

Had a wonderful stay at The Barn, it has everything you need and is very cosy and homely to return to after walking in the Dales. Great base, not too from all the major attractions, peaceful and surrounded by wildlife.

Perfect cottage in a beautiful location, ideal for those looking for peace and quiet, the silence only broken by birdsong. Great walks on the doorstep and a short easy drive into Sedbergh with its amenities. Ideally placed for exploring the Howgills and the Yorkshire Dales and fully equipped with an entertainment system should the weather not play ball!

We had an amazing stay over the Christmas holidays, Foxhole Rigg is a beautiful property in a fantastic location. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the property. Thank you for a lovely break!
