Great location, great accommodation, great amenities… hard to beat this if you’re looking for an easily-reached middle-of-the-country option for a large group. We had 16 adults and 5 small children and we were fully accommodated by the wonderful hosts. When you’re this close to a pub, farm play park, walks literally out of your door, Oxenholme station and the M6 there’s little more you could ask for.
Beautiful, clean and well equipped cottage in a great location. Right in the middle of Kirkby Lonsdale and yet secluded at the same time. No hesitation in recommending this cottage to other guests.
Box tree cottage is absolutely perfect. Everything you need is thought of for a perfect stay. We will definitely return. Thank you.
We had a brilliant stay at New Thornber Cottage. From the moment we arrived we noticed how clean the place was. The decor and furniture is lovely. There were so many added details around the cottage that we discovered during our stay. The views are amazing. It was excellent!
Fantastic, luxurious, met all are expectations. We look forward to going again in the near future. Best place we have stayed.
Quiet , peaceful and restful with fabulous views. Stayed here before so knew it was a very comfortable, luxurious property.
Lovely cottage with great facilities and beautifully presented. Kitchen diner area was fantastic with amazing large windows with views onto the Fells. Lovely for weather watching. House was ideally located for great walks on your doorstep and great for visiting Kirby Lonsdale and Hawes
We stayed for a short break of 2 nights, but wished it was longer, it will be next time. Absolutely fabulous sitting in the hot tub with a glass of Fizz looking at the waterfall. We will definitely be back in the summer to sit on the deck in the evening. We had a lovely lunch in the Barbon Inn, about an hours walk from the cow shed, Its a shame the pub appeared to be poorly supported, but possibly due the time of year.
We absolutely loved our stay at Howgills Barn. The location is truly stunning, surrounded by rolling green fields, grazing sheep, and during our visi, beautiful daffodils in bloom, which made it feel especially magical. The barn itself is exceptionally well presented, with thoughtful luxury touches throughout. The two king-sized beds were incredibly comfortable, dressed in high-quality white cotton linens and soft down bedding that made for a perfect night’s sleep. The extra-large white bath sheets added a hotel-like feel, and the wood-burning fire, set and ready for our arrival, was such a w...more
We have stayed in many luxury lodges and treehouses and the Dog House is definitely up there for us. Everything was so carefully thought about. The attention to detail made this property 10/10..... there was everything that you could possibly need. Not only was it immaculate, the interiors and the appliances were amazing! The location was beautiful and the added bonus of the hot tub too! Thank you so much for having us.
The stables were lovely we had a great time with our two children for a few days in lancashire. The stables were clean comfortable warm And bright and exceeded our expectations. The hot tub was a fun addition!
We had the most wonderful half-term stay at Mill House Cottages while visiting Twin Lakes Country Club. From start to finish, Julie and Stephen were absolutely fantastic hosts. Lakeside was spotless, beautifully presented and incredibly comfortable — it felt like a real home from home. Every detail had clearly been thought through, and it made our family break completely stress-free. The location was perfect for Twin Lakes, making it ideal for a fun-filled half term with the children. Julie and Stephen went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and their communication throughout was ...more
We had an amazing time here at the pavilion. It was exceptionally clean, it was peaceful, easy to find and the pub round the corner served excellent food. The communication with the owner was brilliant. It was lovely from start to finish. We would love to return some day.
We had a great week at the barn. It was exactly as expected, really clean and had everything you need to stay there. There were a few things which maybe I missed when reading the description but didn’t affect our stay and certainly wouldn’t put me off coming again. The car parking area is shared with the house opposite and the utility room is underneath/adjacent to the top floor and you can hear when the room is in use, as it’s also shared with the house opposite. The barn is in a fantastic location with brilliant views and 10/10 we would come back.
We had the most amazing Christmas stay at Lane End Cottage. It´s honestly one of the best equipped places we've ever stayed. Every bedroom having its own ensuite made a huge difference, giving everyone comfort and independence. The kitchen was outstanding - it had absolutely everything we needed (and more!) to cook Christmas dinner for six people with ease. The location was perfect too: peaceful and scenic, yet still really well connected to the main town and great nearby attractions, including the Lake District. It was the ideal balance of tranquility and convenience. We highly recomm...more
The cottage was nicely decorated and had lovely views. My only criticism is that it was cold when we got there for the first two days, I assume the heating had been off previously as it took a little while to heat up. It would also have been nice if there had been some more basic items in the kitchen such as salt and pepper etc.
Excellent location for our dogs to escape what for them is the horror of bonfire night fireworks. This is the second time we've stayed at a Millhouse cottage in the Kirby Lonsdale area and again it worked a treat. The cottage was ideal for our stay, quiet and remote but easily accessable to the local amenities. Well appointed with all technology modern life requires, it made for a very pleasent stay. We will be booking another stay with Millhouse cottages as soon as possible for the same time of year, which says it all really.
We love visiting North Lancashire / South Cumbria and Barbon is the the perfect base to do it . Near , but not in busy K.L. . great walks from a tiny village with a peaceful friendly community on your doorstep . The cottage has everything you need and within easy reach of local services - if you need them . We stayed for what so far has been the hottest few days of the year , so we took advantage of the small courtyard garden at the rear . Other than the bathroom shower / seal , which perhaps needs some urgent attention , everything was perfect.
We had a fab few days at the barn. Modern new, clean holiday let. The bedrooms are very small with very little storage / hangers and a lack of coat/ towel hooks! The Owner could not have been nicer and more willing to make our stay more enjoyable - overall a very pleasant stay.
We always enjoy our time coming up to Kirkby Lonsdale & this is our second time in Brontë House which is comfortable & well presented. The one thing that disappoints us is the small things of not even a bottle of water or any milk just to make a drink after your journey. Sometimes it’s the little things you appreciate but it didn’t spoil our time there.
