This is a perfect location to relax and unwind, enjoying the beautiful location on the river Lune. The house it self is extremely well appointed and no detail has been over looked. The decoration is to a very high specification, the age of the property adds to the ambiance and garden and folly are lovely to sit and enjoy the nature that visits the property, such as herons, kingfishers, otters and birds. We particularly enjoyed the squirrels antics, which we viewed from the sitting room window. The kitchen has everything you need to produce a full dinner should you wish to and a dish washer to ...more
The Nook was very nice, lots of room for our family of 4. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious. The living area and dining room were really nice. The little touches made all the difference - homemade cake, damson gin, colouring books and pens for the children and fresh flowers. We were made to feel very welcome by Millhouse cottages and the owners Ben & Emily. The location is in close proximity to Kirkby Lonsdale and we would definitely recommend a stay.
Absolutely amazing cottage in a fabulous location. Spacious and very well equipped cottage. We couldn't fault a thing and would highly recommend.
Box Tree Cottage is the best - in so many respects - cottage we stay in. It is excellently furnished and equipped, it is in outstanding condition, it is very comfortable, it is in a great location and it we could not ask for more welcoming hosts. We have stayed in Mill House Cottage, just up the Lune Valley for about 15 years, which is another excellent cottage in the Mill House collection but chose Box Tree last year and came to value being in Barbon village - with its very special Church Mouse shop. So, this year we returned to Box Tree Cottage, to which we definitely plan to return,...more
Prior to our stay at Ingleborough house we received excellent instructions on getting to the house and how to gain access. The house was warm and welcoming, it was spotlessly clean, it was well equipped with everything you could possibly need and a lovely thoughtful gift pack for us including some lovely mince pies, appreciated with a lovely coffee after our journey there. There were eight of us in our party and we all loved it and some are looking to stay again.
The Corner House certainly lived up to expectations, in fact, exceeded it! Just stunning. Even the wet weather didn’t spoil our visit. All our wet walking gear could be sorted in the utility room, followed by a hot bath and a sit by the log burner, with a glass of wine from the bottle kindly left by our hosts.
Booked following a recommendation from a friend who stayed in December and was not disappointed. Just as we expected it’s in the middle of nowhere, 40 min walk to a pub which was just what we were loing for. The silence of the place was so peaceful. Beautiful walks along the lane or up the fell. Very high standard of fixtures and fittings, all rooms very spacious. Held 4 people but there was only myself and husband, however would not be on top of each other with other people, huge en-suite and main bathroom, you wouldn’t need to share. Welcome box with wine, cake and jam was lovely and definit...more
The cottage is amazing! Everything has been thought of, the personal touches are beautiful. We did not want to leave and will be back!
What a magic place to stay for both adults and children ( they loved it especially the welcome pack )with views to die for, we really enjoy enjoyed our stay and the icing on my hubbies 70th birthday cake was the wonderful glorious weather! We had a wonderful time would really love to stay again. Thelma cumbria.
We had a fabulous week at the Old Post Office which was beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. Barbon was an excellent base for plenty of walks, and the Churchmouse cafe/deli and Barbon Inn only 2 minutes from the front door. The cottage was warm and cosy and decorated to a very high standard - the kitchen in particular was really well equipped. We hope to be back.
Very comfy, clean, warm and private. 3 tiny snags - DVD player wasn’t working, and a lamp and a plug point weren’t working upstairs.
What you see is what you get but it’s given with care and attention to detail. Nothing is overlooked.
Arriving by the great directions supplied we unpacked and settled in to our cosy cottage. I soon found the well received gifts of a really nice red wine and tasty cake. Log burner already laid was lit, and soon a lovely warming glow filled the room. The cottage lived up to the high standard as advertised with central heating fully fitted kitchen with all mod cons and two bedrooms, one ensuite. The room we choose had a really comfy king sized bed which resulted in a good night's sleep. The views from the cottage are stunning and with variable weather the landscape was constantly changing. ...more
Lovely spot away from the hussle and bustle of life. Great service, directions to location were excellent. Aware people on hand if help needed. Can’t find fault. Many thanks
We have just enjoyed a lovely week at this fantastic villa! The accomodation and comfort of the villa is second to none. Also, so much space both inside and out. The location is fabulous, very close to La Plan de la Tour which a charming village and only 10 minutes by car to the coast. We would thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone wanting a truly memorable holiday. Many thanks to Stephen and Julie.
We had a great stay at Settlebeck Cottage. Customer service was excellent and the property was perfect for us. Would certainly return. Thank you
We booked a 4 day getaway at Grouse Hall. Unfortunately we picked a very, very stormy weekend! However, Grouse Hall was warm and inviting when we arrived. It's a beautiful cottage, just as the pictures show on the website. The beds are super comfy with wonderful linens; the towels were soft and fluffy and plentiful. The cottage has been renovated and decorated to a very high standard. The views were spectacular. Due to the weather we weren't able to get out and about as much as we would have liked, but spent some cozy times in the cottage. It was a little more remote than I anticipated...more
What an amazing, cozy cottage church mews is! It was only the second time we had taken our cockapoo away with us and so we were slightly nervous! Well...we all loved it! We had been to kirkby Lonsdale many times before and stayed as a couple so it was lovely to go as a family! The cottage is very well appointed and clean. Lovely touches such as a ready made fire and lemon drizzle was a real treat! We will definitely book again. Thankyou very much!
This was our second stay at Park House Cottage and it was equally if not more enjoyable than the first. The cottage is enchanting , extremely comfortable and very well appointed. It is set in the most stunning location and its pure bliss to wake up to those views every day. We have used Mill House for 3 holidays now and I have to say they really understand the term ‘luxury’. If you are looking for dog friendly cottages that are as beautiful interior wise as the glorious locations they are set in then look no further.
We recently stayed at Skye Fall with some friends over the weekend of Storm Ciara. It was lovely to be inside this lovely, warm and cosy cottage, enjoying the spectacular views and watching the storm unfold. The cottage is very well equipped and spacious. The nearby hostelry, The Whispering Pines, offers a warm welcome and a good menu and is only 5 minutes walk. Really a fabulous weekend.
We had an excellent stay at The Paddock. Beautifully furnished and extremely well cared for, this is one of the best holiday rentals we have stayed in. Kirkby Lonsdale is a great village with lovely shops and places to eat.
