We had an amazing holiday. The accommodation was excellent. The owner has put a lot of time and effort into ensuring a positive and lasting experience. Thank you.
Our son attended the Ceol Na Mara String Summer School in Kylemore Abbey and there is no better location than this to stay as it is so near to the abbey. Great restaurants, Connemara National Park/Diamond Hill and grocery store all within walking distance. Beautiful places to visit just a short drive away. Perfect!
The property was in really excellent condition and sparkling clean with all the facilities you could need. The bedrooms are large, bright and modern and the fact that all 3 of them are en suite is a major plus. Superfast internet connection and large modern smart TV available in the comfortable sitting room. This kitchen had all the appliances and utensils you could need. The stocked Nespresso machine was a nice touch. The location while remote is very central to all major tourist location which makes it an ideal base to explore Connemara. Our hosts Barbara & James were very welcoming. ...more
Comfortable, well equipped (only missing washing machine) and well located (quiet and walking distance to Clifden) property. Provides all needed for an enjoyable break in Connemara.
Fantastic stay in Apartment 381 in Carna. The Apartment is the top half of a very large house and has its own entrance and balcony facing the mountains, with 5-star standards of luxury. The Apartment is very large; a huge living room / kitchen / dining room and a very spacious hall/landing. There are 3 huge double bedrooms each with its own en-suite. The website description undersells the property in terms of size and level of luxury. We had a family of 6 with 4 adult children and had plenty of space. A short walk to the local pub / restaurant where we got a great meal, and also a short w...more
This year was our second to stay in Letterfrack and in the exact same apt as last year. We need ground floor as my son has special needs and finds stairs difficult. The apartment caters for our needs as a family, my Mother, myself and my 16y/o son. We each get a bedroom which is great. Louisa let us into the apartment early on arrival as per my request which was gladly welcomed after travelling over four hours. My sons bedroom only had two hand towels, but we used a beach towel. It would've been nice to have a bath towel provided for him though. My only one complaint and it is a small ...more
We had a wonderful time during our stay at the cottage. We actually returned to the cottage having stumbled across this gem last year. The cottage is ideally situated near a variety of beaches, some which are more suited to surfing/body boarding, others for walks, swimming and playing with kids. The area is really super if you like walks, a bit of history, local dinners and popping to the shops quickly. We love the coziness of the cottage. We've had mixed weather for both of our stays but the environment of the house made us forget about outside and cozy-up inside - the wood burning stove is s...more
The Apartment was fabulous, we could not believe the magic of the place, stunning accommodation with everything you could need, and the Views were amazing from the Apartment, we really loved it all. All new contents and very comfortable apartment, loads of space and bright rooms with lots of windows, totally private and no noise. Beds are very very comfortable, the views from the en suite bedroom are stunning. The location was stunning, and the bonus of having a fabulous restaurant below us with beautiful food and fabulous staff was huge. All the people in Leenane are lovely, in the ...more
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we enjoyed the location and surroundings. This cottage is a great base for touring Connemara (which we did a lot of during the 10 days): comfortable, well appointed, well equipped and lovely decorated. Fast and efficient WLAN was constantly available during our stay. We were only three but bigger parties will find plenty of space, too. Although the owners live on site, we had all the privacy we needed to feel home away from home. Aedan, the host, is friendly and accessible and although we never had any reason to call for help or support with ...more
Excellent spacious, modern and beautifully clean house. Ideal for family with kids- plenty of space and large garden. Lovely location close to Sallerna beach and Cleggan village. Owners were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend.
Stay cut short by Coronavirus but a lovely apartment in a great location. A good variety of shops, bars etc in Clifden and great scenery.
We stayed as a group of 9 adults and 9 kids, a mixture of family and friends. We have travelled a lot to various holiday homes around Ireland but we all agreed this was one of the best. The 8 bedrooms all en-suite with their own tv was just great. There was 3 different seating areas so no one was on top of each other. The kitchen appeared recently renovated and was lovely to use. And it was great having facilities like skysports and a smart TV. The upper deck has impressive views and was used frequently for a relaxing after dinner drink. The kids enjoyed the garden and there was a little play...more
We as a family really enjoyed our time at Cottage 162, homely and comfortable, great place to relax and unwind especially during Covid 19. Fabulous views and beaches. Hope to visit again.
Really enjoyed our stay. The owner met us and welcomed us in a friendly way. We loved the cottage. Spotlessly clean and homely. We walked around the loop every day from the cottage. Fab views to the sea outside the front. Would love to go visit again sometime. 5 min drive to roundstone and fab beaches.
The house is perfect. What a pitty that it wasn’t clean... Owners very friendly. Wifi and tv were great but more important, kitchen missed some basic things.
From start to finish we could not have asked for more .. the owner Josephine was very nice , friendly & helpful .. the property was spotless & had everything we needed .. the views were amazing & it was very close to the town 1.6 kms I would certainly recommend to anyone visiting Connemara ..
Choosing a hol cottage can be difficult but we were V lucky with 103. We had a delightful stay..made to feel v welcome on arrival..the bedrooms looked even better than in pictures...we would have liked a hand shower ( there was a fitting for it) in main bathroom but that s a minor quibble....thought it a wonderful place to stay..
This house is fantastic . The location is perfect as it is in the main street . You are seconds from everything in the town. The house itself is beautiful. It is perfect for a big family or a group of friends.
We had an amazing week in Connemara. Letterfrack is a great base for the national park, kylemore, Clifden, beaches etc. Apartment was perfect for our needs with a toddler. A great hairdryer too..no need to bring one!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Mary made us feel so welcome and her scones and brown bread were delicious. The house was very well equipped with everything you would need and the views were amazing. Being so close to the beach was fab. We had a great time exploring the area and will definitely be back. Highly recommend.
The apartment was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very nicely furnished. The apartment is lovely and bright with large windows and the view looking down over the main street is lovely. Parking is pay parking out side but there was always spaces and didn't have to pay until 11.30am so we often left car outside overnight. It was easy to move it to Supervalu car park nearby if needs be. The location is fantastic, so handy for shops and restaurants.
Large apartment in the centre of Clifden. Well equipped with all you might need. Lovely big south facing balcony.
We enjoyed our stay. The open plan living area is very comfortable. The beds were comfortable and plenty of storage. It’s nice to be able to unpack and put everything away. The house was warm, we enjoyed the wood burning stove several evenings. It would have been helpful to know before we arrived, that the tap water is not drinkable. As the owner didn’t let us know in advance, he should have left us a bottle of water to start us off. I know there are COVID restrictions but a sealed bottle of water shouldn’t have caused any problem. Otherwise we had a great stay, the cottage is well loc...more
Contained everything we needed. Right in the middle of things. Double room a bit small. But 2 single rooms are great
A week long break in a comfortable property. Location quiet. Scenery magnificent surrounded by mountains and rivers..
We were a group of four visiting for 5 nights over New Years. We have family in Roundstone so know the area well. The apartment was perfect for us and had everything we needed, including a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The open fire was a lovely bonus. It was easy to contact the caretaker to arrange key pick up - she left in under the mat and we did the same when we left. The location was great, Roundstone is small so you are never far from anywhere but the sea view was lovely (even from behind the scaffolding). The only criticism would be that the 'double' bed in the second be...more
We had a wonderful stay at cottage 139. The position of the cottage is wonderfully nestled at the back of the holiday village with quite a large back garden for the kids to run around in while you relax on the patio. Well we tried to relax. Unfortunately the midges ate us alive and our patio time was short lived. It was really unfortunate as the weather was glorious and the evenings would have been perfect for outdoor entertaining given that all the pubs were mostly closed in the town and onsite but it was impossible to sit out in the evenings in that area. It's beautifully positioned very clo...more
The cottage was everything we could have wished for and more. Spotlessly clean thanks to Kathleen. We would highly recommend this property.
Large comfortable and spacious house. Well positioned with amazing views. Only drawback tiny fridge for a house that sleeps 8.
Beautiful house located near the village of Cleggan. Brilliant for 2 families with older kids. Loads of space with a lovely little beach just a short walk away. But the reason to stay here are the views. They are breathtaking from almost every window. The large balcony provides outstanding vistas all day long. My only ask for next year (we'll be back) is that some outdoor furniture by supplied?
The house was very clean and modern, with everything you would need. Sleeping room for nine people which really was a bonus and lots of extra space. Nice enclosed garden at the back which would be handy for small kids. Was a short walk to carraroe village and a short drive from Coral beach and pier for swimming.
Super clean, super lovely host, super quiet. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.
Such a stunning location..the photos really dont do it justice, the beaches nearby are incredibly beautiful, walk down to Renvyle beach to watch the sunset over the Atlantic with Inis Bofin and Mweelrea mountain in the distance and all will feel ok with the world in these crazy times. Short drive to Killary Fjord, Connemara National park and lots of places to walk and explore. House was great, had the basics and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. We stayed home and cooked every night and kitchen well equipped with a nice dining room. After a bath and in front of the fire we felt very cosy a...more
We had a fantastic week in property cottage 323. Very comfortable home with all items required for a self catering stay. The location was perfect to explore all the fabulous beaches the area has to offer. Highly recommend this property.
Excellent location close to the town and comfortable apartment with all we needed. The Landlady was very helpful. We had an amazing holiday. Thank you.
Needed more cutlery, mugs and glasses for a family of five. No broom or vacuum provided for cleaning.
We had a wonderful time. The house is comfortable and has fabulous sea views. The neighbouring houses had chickens, geese and ducks which kept the children amused. Highly recommend!
Super cosy and spotless accommodation with great kitchen and shower facilities. Neighbours so helpful and kind with insights to the island. We got a sense of the locals (Inishnee and Roundstone) living and appreciating a different pace of life and giving of their time graciously to answer our questions. Lovely walk around Inishnee island (1 hour at a gentle pace) with stunning views of the Twelve Pins mountains. We skipped the Wednesday music night in the Community Centre and, on hearing the reviews, regretted our decision! So that would be our tip to you.
The apartment is located in a beautiful surrounding viewing Diamond Hill. It is comfy, very clean and everything is there what you need to feel at home. Close to the Connemara NP visitor centre and Kylemore Abbey (by car). No wifi so a great place to unwind. Very friendly owner. I very much enjoyed my stay!
Beautiful cottage well located. Very well equipped and comfortable. As it is an old building you need to put heat on each evening for two hours just to take the chill away . Highly recommend this house.
Overall the holiday was so peaceful and Cleggan is a beautiful location as well the entire location. My holiday was so relaxing the house so Lovely and I had no fear if it not being Safe. Will hope to stay there again next year in Cleggan.
Besutiful cottage with a mix of new and old...everything you need...lake at bottom of garden...beautiful views and helpful owner...it feels like your in tge wilds of connemara but in reality your only 20 minutes from clifden...cannot wait to go back again!
This house is in a very quiet rural location with beautiful views of the sea & countryside. It’s a very comfortable house with great facilities. We particularly loved the dining room opening onto the gorgeous sea views & the open fireplace in the sitting room. There are endless beautiful beaches within easy driving distance of the house, as well as a small beach a short walk through the fields. Lots of Connemara’s popular attractions are within easy driving distances such as Killary Fjord, Kylemore Abbey & Inisbofin island. The villages of Tully Cross & Letterfrack are just a few minutes drive...more
Absolutely loved this place: it was comfortable, very clean, well equipped and with the most stunning views you can imagine. Hiking the mountains around the lodge is amazing but when you have lots of rain (like we did) outdoor activities become quite challenging (no real hiking paths so there’s only bog which makes good hiking impossible (unless you’re into this kind of thing..)). So prepare for alternative outings (which are plentiful in lovely Connemara) and take a good book. WiFi would have been handy (especially given the weather we had..).
David was there to welcome us and walked us around the house. It was spotless, we've never had a cleaner holiday rental. The house had loads of room for us all with plenty of bathrooms. We found the dining room a great extra room downstairs, additional to the eating area in the kitchen. The back kitchen is also extremely useful when coming in with wet shoes, rain gear and as a store room for the gear that comes with having children and dogs. I would suggest just letting people know to press the middle button on the oven to turn it on - one day we had put the heat on and the oven setting o...more
Ideally located in the beautiful harbour town of Roundstone. Within close walking distance to local shops and restaurants. Only 5 minutes drive from Gurteen beach and less than 10 minutes to Dogs Bay. Pet and child friendly accommodation!
This cottage was to a very high standard throughout. I travelled with my wife and 2 kids. Roundstone is one of Connemara's little gems. The views from the house of the Twelve Ben's is truly amazing. Kids playground only a 5 min walk from the house. Every part of Connemara is just on your doorstep Clifden, Letterfrack, Dogs Bay (amazing beach). The owner was at the end of the phone to help in anyway needed. A+++++ We will definitely return.
Very clean, basic but great as a base to travel around. Close to beaches, Clifden etc. Great walks in the park. The local shop had everything needed for self catering and not as expensive as you’d expect. Only downside was the noise from the local pub - hard to ignore when trying to sleep.
We were very happy with our accommodation in Letterfrack. We noticed a slight damp smell on arrival, which we reported to the apartment manager. It was no problem to move to another apartment the next day, and the owner even dropped us in a bottle of wine to apologise for the inconvenience!
The apartment is spotless and in the quiet village of letterfrack. Very comfortable with everything required for a self-catering holiday. No need to bring washing up liquid, toilet roll etc. It’s a great base for travelling around connemeara.
I love this place but some of the beds with their double mattresses could be replaced but it must be ok or we would not be back year after year
Nice place and easy to cominacation for tourist place. Stay comfort. Missing WIFI. Networks poor.
Super clean ,cosy ,home away from home ,pet friendly also ,so loved by all including our dog honey !
We were very pleased with our stay. The cottage, originally built in 1916, has been tastefully modernised but yet retains a lot of its original character. It's well equipped, warm and comfortable. The location is ideal to explore the many attractions in the area.
Highly recommend Love Connemara cottages to book holiday homes, they were excellent to deal with given the circumstances surrounding the pandemic and the uncertainty regarding travel. They most kindly postponed our balance due date until announcements were made. I really appreciate this excellent customer service. Our holiday home was very clean and tidy with a recently upgraded bathroom and heaters it was very comfortable and set in a stunning location. Exactly what we were looking for. The house had everything you need. While the front garden is well kept, it has a huge overgrown back gard...more
Notre séjour dans ce charmant cottage était parfait. Tranquillité, confort, et très bien situé, à mi-chemin entre Galway et Cliffden. La propriétaire nous a réservé un très bon accueil.
The location of the place is superb, small and safe private beach, surrounded by wild and beautiful Connemara countryside. The cottage itself is basic, but that is part of the charm. Kitchen was well equipped, sitting room cosy, plenty of space in the bedrooms. Mattresses were hard and you could feel the springs, so a mattress toppers could easily solve this issue, a good night sleep is VITAL for relaxing and this is reflected in value for money score. Also the cottage was quite damp in general, but that is often a natural feature in old buildings by the sea. Overall we had amazing break and ...more
Excellent location, nice countryside, beautiful views. Beds and bed linen need an upgrade, good size sitting room and kitchen
We were blessed with stunning weather during our stay. Would highly recommend it and will hopefully return again some day. Please be aware of the driveway is unsuitable for anything other than a high clearance 4x4, unless you want to scrape your car. Having said that there is ample parking at the top of the entrance to the property so this is no major issue.
There was an issue with our original booking which could not be resolved and we reluctantly accepted a change of venue. The new accommodation was for 4 people rather than 5 which meant that our daughter spent her holiday sleeping on a blow up mattress rather than a "spare mattress" which was what I expected when I agreed to the new arrangement. The accommodation is clean but shabby - door handles hanging off, paint cracked, tiles in need of re-grouting, there was even a crack in the toilet! Charging for electricity was an unwelcome surprise. A communal clothes line is needed as there was nowhe...more
Lovely apartment, great location, very comfortable. Only recommendation would be to add window restrictors to the windows so they can’t be opened fully. Just an additional safety measure for those with young kids. Other than that couldn’t fault the place! Thanks again.
House was very well presented with a superb big garden fully walled in. The house was very comfortable and child friendly. Easy walk into oughterard and 30 mins drive from galway city and 45 from the national park so ideally located for all tastes. Proof in the pudding that we have reserved same house again next year.
We had a lovely holiday in this bungalow, thankfully the weather was great. The location is near Ballyconneely, which is what we wanted as there are great beaches within easy access. The property is spacious but would benefit from a second toilet. The kitchen area is large and has a dishwasher and a large table for meals. A separate utility contains a washer and dryer. There is central heating if needed. We like this, as other cottages without central heating can be musty. There is a dormer flat in the roof space with a separate entrance via external stairs. There was no-one there when we stay...more
the design of this converted outhouse is good. but: -the bedroom is damp smelling -the fridge was dirty and smelly -we have to a) buy our own central heating stuff (peat fired stove) and b) clean it and reset. we're on hols paying over 100 per day and that's not what we want to do in the morning. -there's a big eyesore of a new building going up next door - again for the money, not good. when we say yes below to 'recommend' we mean its ok, but not at the money. but let it be said, we were happy with Carmel
The house was just as advertised. Private, comfortable, well supplied. Comfy beds. We could sit in bed and drink in the beautiful views.
While the apartment was excellent and the location was great, there is a need for permanent 24/7 onsite management. Had stayed there in 2019 and had no issues but this year the noise level was unbelievable-parties until late at night, fire alarms being set off at 5am & kids just running wild. So needless to say I wouldn't return. Bit disappointed to be honest
We had a wonderful stay in your cottage from Sunday 9th August through to Friday 14th. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and the views spectacular, but there are a few things that I need to bring to your attention. First off, there is no information before booking, on the state of the road to the property. The first communication on the road itself is after payment. "Note: There is a long bumpy road down to the property so take care on approach." this Note does not cover how poor the final part of the road to the property is. I don't drive an 4x4 or an SUV and experienced the under-carr...more
The water heating system is completely obsolete and there is not enough warm water during the day The beds are in poor condition, and cause us sore backs. The couches are so old that they loose their skin on the floor.
