Great location, weather fantastic and family enjoyed it. Beaches and things to do are plentiful around the area and the restaurants are good
This year was our second to stay in Letterfrack and in the exact same apt as last year. We need ground floor as my son has special needs and finds stairs difficult. The apartment caters for our needs as a family, my Mother, myself and my 16y/o son. We each get a bedroom which is great. Louisa let us into the apartment early on arrival as per my request which was gladly welcomed after travelling over four hours. My sons bedroom only had two hand towels, but we used a beach towel. It would've been nice to have a bath towel provided for him though. My only one complaint and it is a small ...more
Fantastic stay in Apartment 381 in Carna. The Apartment is the top half of a very large house and has its own entrance and balcony facing the mountains, with 5-star standards of luxury. The Apartment is very large; a huge living room / kitchen / dining room and a very spacious hall/landing. There are 3 huge double bedrooms each with its own en-suite. The website description undersells the property in terms of size and level of luxury. We had a family of 6 with 4 adult children and had plenty of space. A short walk to the local pub / restaurant where we got a great meal, and also a short w...more
Overall a very enjoyable stay, the house exceeded our expectations and was in an ideal location across the road from Oliver's seafood bar..Angela was an excellent host and was available to answer any questions or provide assistance when required! We will certainly be back to revisit the spectacular scenery & numerous amazing beaches close-by.
Our son attended the Ceol Na Mara String Summer School in Kylemore Abbey and there is no better location than this to stay as it is so near to the abbey. Great restaurants, Connemara National Park/Diamond Hill and grocery store all within walking distance. Beautiful places to visit just a short drive away. Perfect!
Not alone is this apartment ideally located, right in the beautiful town of Clifden, but the Lay-out internally is superb. Add that to a fantastic view, within 2 minute walking distance of a Supermarket, Restaurants, Bars and so many interesting shops, it adds to a very relaxing experience. We will certainly go back again in the not too distant future. We could not recommend this property too highly. Happy to do so! Sheila & Tom
Lovely cottage. Super clean and comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen with all modern amenities. Barbeque area was perfect for grilling out with two picnic tables and lovely views. The owners, Barbara and James, along with their son Alexander, couldn't have been more accommodating and available if we needed anything. Direct access to the Greenway was perfect for my husband as he uses a mobility scooter. Lovely walks along the Greenway. The cottage is only 15 minutes from Clifden for shopping and 15 minutes from Roundstone. The bedrooms and ensuites are fabulous and very modern. Very spacious kit...more
Very helpful & friendly caretakers & attended very promptly to our queries. Great location and space. Excellent value for money. Lovely restaurants. Plenty to do.
great cottage, service, location. no issues at all during our stay. Would highly recommend this property
We had a lovely 3 night stay in this house. It's very spacious, well equipped and Tom was very helpful and friendly. We would not hesitate to recommend this place if you are visiting Connemara.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we enjoyed the location and surroundings. This cottage is a great base for touring Connemara (which we did a lot of during the 10 days): comfortable, well appointed, well equipped and lovely decorated. Fast and efficient WLAN was constantly available during our stay. We were only three but bigger parties will find plenty of space, too. Although the owners live on site, we had all the privacy we needed to feel home away from home. Aedan, the host, is friendly and accessible and although we never had any reason to call for help or support with ...more
Location was perfect, quiet, private and access to beach within 2 minutes House was modern and home from home with all necessary equipment that you may need Bath and power showers. Great communication and support from caretaker Bernie Great location near Clifden for shopping restaurants and sightseeing We will visit again
We had a great 5 nights in the apartment in Clifden the location was just perfect you couldn’t ask for a better location right beside the main square. Everything is new and clean in the apartment, the instructions for everything are clear in the digital guide, we loved the apartment and loved Clifden it’s a great town with plenty of pubs that all do great food. We enjoyed sitting outside Kings at a barrel just a minute or 2 walk from the apartment.
Really enjoyed our stay. The owner met us and welcomed us in a friendly way. We loved the cottage. Spotlessly clean and homely. We walked around the loop every day from the cottage. Fab views to the sea outside the front. Would love to go visit again sometime. 5 min drive to roundstone and fab beaches.
We as a family really enjoyed our time at Cottage 162, homely and comfortable, great place to relax and unwind especially during Covid 19. Fabulous views and beaches. Hope to visit again.
We stayed as a group of 9 adults and 9 kids, a mixture of family and friends. We have travelled a lot to various holiday homes around Ireland but we all agreed this was one of the best. The 8 bedrooms all en-suite with their own tv was just great. There was 3 different seating areas so no one was on top of each other. The kitchen appeared recently renovated and was lovely to use. And it was great having facilities like skysports and a smart TV. The upper deck has impressive views and was used frequently for a relaxing after dinner drink. The kids enjoyed the garden and there was a little play...more
We had the most wonderful holiday in Cliften ,our appartment was in Center of town ,wonderful views from our penthouse appartment ,so comfortable ,clean ,bright modern accomadation ,would reccomend it to all my friends .
Amazing views from this property. Best place for some peace and quiet and the beautiful nature of Connemara. We want to come back here. Property as displayed, clean, comfy, home feeling.
The house is perfect. What a pitty that it wasn’t clean... Owners very friendly. Wifi and tv were great but more important, kitchen missed some basic things.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view from the house was amazing! Only a short drive from towns. The people were very nice to deal with and the house was spotless when we arrived. Highly recommend
Great location for this property in the heart of Clifden town. The house could do with some modernisation and redecorating and have some simple repairs carried out both inside and out. Also the Wi-Fi needs to be extended to the downstairs area where the main TV is Everything was spotless on arrival and Love Connemara provided an excellent service throughout the whole booking process.
We love this cottage and its location. It is allways warm and inviting with a lovely wood burner with lots of peat for the cold and dull days.
Had the most beautiful stay in this spotlessly clean 5 bedroom house. Everything you need for your holiday and in a great location for exploring Connemara. Directly across from GAA pitch which was great for our kids!We had five children with us and are all over 4 and a baby who all loved the house but I could see if we had a toddler house would have a few hazards re the stairs and a stone step down in the kitchen which would cause a few problems. But for adults and older kids this house is fantastic.Beds are super comfortable and all unsuite. I would defo recommend this house you won’t be disa...more
Lovely cottage, clean and comfortable, very convenient for exploring Connemara. We had a great stay.
Well located in the high street, apartment has everthing you need over looks the high street which we liked no noise with window closed. There's no lift and apartment on top floor which was fine with us.
This property is beautifully located at the foot of the mountains and one is surrounded by magnificent scenery and a sense of complete calm and tranquillity. It is like a little piece of heaven on earth. A stay here can be as quiet or as busy as one desires. It is remotely located but very easy access by car to Clifden, Letterfrack etc Dolores, the host is easily available should any queries arise. The cottage is very well looked after and tended to, very comfortable and in excellent condition. Wifi service is excellent. I had a fantastic 2 week stay and could not fault a single thing...more
This apartment is within walking distance of all the restaurants & bars in Clifden. It is very spacious and there was plenty of room for my family - 2 adults & 3 children. Apartment is modern and very clean. Also nice balcony to sit out on (although the weather the week we were there did not allow this :) ) I would highly recommend this apartment !
Contained everything we needed. Right in the middle of things. Double room a bit small. But 2 single rooms are great
This house has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Well equipped with plenty of cutlery, crockery and pans -not always the case in a rental- which we made good use of. Only things missing there were a pair of tongs and a garlic crush. Beds were very comfortable- which can also be a rare thing! Perfect location opposite Oliver which was very handy. Only letdown was on the very last night when neighbours had a party outside which was very loud until after 11pm and still talking at 1am. It was a Birthday party so hope they don't decide to do it again next year as we're already ...more
Apartment surpassed expectations… really clean, spacious and perfectly located. Curtesy calls to make sure we were happy. Would definitely recommend and revisit ourselves in the future.
We had a wonderful stay at cottage 139. The position of the cottage is wonderfully nestled at the back of the holiday village with quite a large back garden for the kids to run around in while you relax on the patio. Well we tried to relax. Unfortunately the midges ate us alive and our patio time was short lived. It was really unfortunate as the weather was glorious and the evenings would have been perfect for outdoor entertaining given that all the pubs were mostly closed in the town and onsite but it was impossible to sit out in the evenings in that area. It's beautifully positioned very clo...more
Clean, well equipped, comfortable ideal location for exploration. Great host, very attentive and helpful. We would happily recommend this cottage.
We were a group of four visiting for 5 nights over New Years. We have family in Roundstone so know the area well. The apartment was perfect for us and had everything we needed, including a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The open fire was a lovely bonus. It was easy to contact the caretaker to arrange key pick up - she left in under the mat and we did the same when we left. The location was great, Roundstone is small so you are never far from anywhere but the sea view was lovely (even from behind the scaffolding). The only criticism would be that the 'double' bed in the second be...more
We really enjoyed our stay and can warmly recommend the apartment. (only for people without mobility problems, because of the stairs down to the entry) (+) Large, well-divided apartment (+) quiet (+) central (++) large terrace with a beautiful view (-) non The only thing that we missed a little was a little piece of rain-protected space on the terrace (umbrella, awning)
We booked this the day before we travelled and the girls I dealt with could not have been nicer. Everything about this experience was excellent and we could not fault 1 thing 10/10. Would highly recommend this company.
Beautiful house located near the village of Cleggan. Brilliant for 2 families with older kids. Loads of space with a lovely little beach just a short walk away. But the reason to stay here are the views. They are breathtaking from almost every window. The large balcony provides outstanding vistas all day long. My only ask for next year (we'll be back) is that some outdoor furniture by supplied?
Excellent location for a Connemara break away. The apartment was spotless and very well maintained. I will be recommending this location to friends and family.
The house was very clean and modern, with everything you would need. Sleeping room for nine people which really was a bonus and lots of extra space. Nice enclosed garden at the back which would be handy for small kids. Was a short walk to carraroe village and a short drive from Coral beach and pier for swimming.
Super clean, super lovely host, super quiet. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.
Had a great week in Clifden - such a beautiful spot with so much to see and do. Best thing about the house was the location - ideal on the edge of the town of Clifden so we could walk to all the amenities on offer in this great little spot.
We had a wonderful time. The house is comfortable and has fabulous sea views. The neighbouring houses had chickens, geese and ducks which kept the children amused. Highly recommend!
Super cosy and spotless accommodation with great kitchen and shower facilities. Neighbours so helpful and kind with insights to the island. We got a sense of the locals (Inishnee and Roundstone) living and appreciating a different pace of life and giving of their time graciously to answer our questions. Lovely walk around Inishnee island (1 hour at a gentle pace) with stunning views of the Twelve Pins mountains. We skipped the Wednesday music night in the Community Centre and, on hearing the reviews, regretted our decision! So that would be our tip to you.
Overall the holiday was so peaceful and Cleggan is a beautiful location as well the entire location. My holiday was so relaxing the house so Lovely and I had no fear if it not being Safe. Will hope to stay there again next year in Cleggan.
The apartment is located in a beautiful surrounding viewing Diamond Hill. It is comfy, very clean and everything is there what you need to feel at home. Close to the Connemara NP visitor centre and Kylemore Abbey (by car). No wifi so a great place to unwind. Very friendly owner. I very much enjoyed my stay!
It was great to met David at the start of our stay and he explained where everything was and how it worked. We were a group of 9 hill walkers, having 6 bedrooms, 3 of them en-suite of which unusually 2 were the twin rooms was great when we got back from our walks. No delay in getting showered. There was also plenty of space for our walking gear to air and dry out. Plenty of parking in front or behind the house. The first time I have seen 2 large fridges/freezers in a house an added bonus for a big group. The well equipped shop was withing walking distance. Letterfrack is a...more
We loved the fiew und the nice location. Cosy, quiete and spacy for two and up to 4 people. With all 6 beds covered it might get crowded.
Besutiful cottage with a mix of new and old...everything you need...lake at bottom of garden...beautiful views and helpful owner...it feels like your in tge wilds of connemara but in reality your only 20 minutes from clifden...cannot wait to go back again!
After a long road trip along the Wild Atlantic Way the end of my journey was spent having a few days in Roundstone at Sandy Heels. I was never so sorry to leave a place and I am a seasoned traveller. This lovely cottage is warm, comfortable, stylish and perfectly placed to enable time to explore Connemara safe in the knowledge that a cosy home from home awaits your return.
Absolutely loved this place: it was comfortable, very clean, well equipped and with the most stunning views you can imagine. Hiking the mountains around the lodge is amazing but when you have lots of rain (like we did) outdoor activities become quite challenging (no real hiking paths so there’s only bog which makes good hiking impossible (unless you’re into this kind of thing..)). So prepare for alternative outings (which are plentiful in lovely Connemara) and take a good book. WiFi would have been handy (especially given the weather we had..).
Lovely house with amazing views right in the village. Paddy was an excellent host. I would recommend this house to anyone.
This was our second stay at these apartments. The location is fantastic and the apartments have all you need and are extremely clean. Very easy arrival and leaving process.
This semi-detached house was a rather mixed bag. Plenty of space but in need of some TLC. Lounge smelt of moth balls. Kitchen equipment OK overall, but lacking in some areas such as bowls, cutlery (knives and teaspoons) and no coffee press. Not everyone likes capsule coffee which is no good for filling a coffee mug/flask. Bedrooms - I had no choice but to stay in the downstairs bedroom as other bedrooms were locked. Downstairs shower has an enormous crack through the rear wall and crawling insects in the base. Bathroom also had a large wall crack and ungrouted floor tiles. Also no window cover...more
We love this house. This iS our fourth or fifth visit. Within walking distance to the beach and a perfect as base for exploring. The house in cosy and warm though it took a while to figure out the new heaters.
We were very happy with our stay here. picturesque location right on the banks of Killary fjiord with lovely view of the nearby mountains.
Nice place and easy to cominacation for tourist place. Stay comfort. Missing WIFI. Networks poor.
Fab view overlooking the sea but no outdoor furniture to sit outside and enjoy it bar a couple of white plastic chairs! Please please and also a barbecue would be fantastic. Still think 20e a day for electricity is outrageous!
House is a nice 2 bed house. The decor of the house is lovely and is ideal as a place to stay when exploring. A car is absolutely necessary staying here. The house is beautiful and as described. We booked it as the description said it had mini golf, a playground and washing facilities on site at a cost. The mini golf is non existent and has not been in use for a long time. The playground is ok but has not been cleaned or maintained (green algae etc on the items, could do with a wash) I looked for the laundry facilities on site and couldn’t find them. The clubhouse was closed as it’s off sea...more
Notre séjour dans ce charmant cottage était parfait. Tranquillité, confort, et très bien situé, à mi-chemin entre Galway et Cliffden. La propriétaire nous a réservé un très bon accueil.
Little more dated than I expected with small living space, clean and all essential supplies and equipment (even tennis rackets) Very quiet location on outskirts of Clifden short drive to shops etc... play ground and tennis court a bonus .
The location of the place is superb, small and safe private beach, surrounded by wild and beautiful Connemara countryside. The cottage itself is basic, but that is part of the charm. Kitchen was well equipped, sitting room cosy, plenty of space in the bedrooms. Mattresses were hard and you could feel the springs, so a mattress toppers could easily solve this issue, a good night sleep is VITAL for relaxing and this is reflected in value for money score. Also the cottage was quite damp in general, but that is often a natural feature in old buildings by the sea. Overall we had amazing break and ...more
Whilst we had a very good and happy stay in an area we know very well and love, here are some points: 1: The sitting room is superb 2: The Kitchen/ Dining are is very tight. 3: The oven was exceptionally difficult to understand. Where are the instructions for it? 4: Main bedroom: There is no room for a second bedside table and no room to access the left hand side of the wardrobes 5: The main bathroom is excellent 6: The heating system is very efficient
Very clean and very suited to purpose. Great location. No hassle with parking on street. Only issue was noise insulation both within the apartment and from adjacent. The filling of glass bottles into bins late night/early morning presumably from adjacent pubs was very annoying, but understand that’s not the fault of the property. Overall very impressed with cleanliness and how well suited to our purpose.the apartment was.
Spent the week having to kill multiple spiders in every room. Kids refused to sleep in one bedroom because of the spiders and webs. The whole cottage felt very run down and dated- mouldy shower and bath sealant, leaking en-suite toilet, leaking washing machine, no recycling bin, no shower screen so water all over bathroom floor, our clothes smelt mouldy due to damp main bedroom, dirt and hairbands between couch cushions, no glasses in kitchen, dusty valance sheets on bed. On the plus side the heating was efficient, we could bring our dog and it’s a nice location. But it needs serious updati...more
Would certainly stay in Apt again. A few points worth mentioning: 1. Settees are low and deep and would benefit from having Cushions (COVID ??). 2. No Irish TV stations available - Saorview Ariel faulty 3. Fridge Freezer section too small (Only a single shelf 'Box' ). 4. Dish Washer Manual missing and would have helped to get correct settings. 5. Street access area (ie ground level passage access area ) could be made more attractive. Hope these comments helpful. Pleased with our stay.
Apt was in an ideal location. However we experienced an issue with the TV, which was promptly addressed, then an issue with hot water, which required a new element for the boiler. This ultimately resulted in us leaving a day early. The caretaker and manager were very responsive so no issues with them.
Ballyconneely is a lovely location for a holiday. Beaches, scenery, activities on the sea, proximity to Clifden and its excellent restaurants a bonus. The house was comfortable, clean and spacious.
House was very well presented with a superb big garden fully walled in. The house was very comfortable and child friendly. Easy walk into oughterard and 30 mins drive from galway city and 45 from the national park so ideally located for all tastes. Proof in the pudding that we have reserved same house again next year.
The views from the cottage, especially from the kitchen window were great. The location was first class. The beds however were too soft, ie, the mattresses were not firm, so it didn't offer us a good night's sleep. Firmer mattresses please. The local birds singing, the sounds from the ever lively sea, and that glorious fresh Connemara air would lift everyone's spirits. As there were only three of us,we had plenty of space. Good facilities too.
We had a lovely holiday in this bungalow, thankfully the weather was great. The location is near Ballyconneely, which is what we wanted as there are great beaches within easy access. The property is spacious but would benefit from a second toilet. The kitchen area is large and has a dishwasher and a large table for meals. A separate utility contains a washer and dryer. There is central heating if needed. We like this, as other cottages without central heating can be musty. There is a dormer flat in the roof space with a separate entrance via external stairs. There was no-one there when we stay...more
the design of this converted outhouse is good. but: -the bedroom is damp smelling -the fridge was dirty and smelly -we have to a) buy our own central heating stuff (peat fired stove) and b) clean it and reset. we're on hols paying over 100 per day and that's not what we want to do in the morning. -there's a big eyesore of a new building going up next door - again for the money, not good. when we say yes below to 'recommend' we mean its ok, but not at the money. but let it be said, we were happy with Carmel
The house was just as advertised. Private, comfortable, well supplied. Comfy beds. We could sit in bed and drink in the beautiful views.
While the apartment was excellent and the location was great, there is a need for permanent 24/7 onsite management. Had stayed there in 2019 and had no issues but this year the noise level was unbelievable-parties until late at night, fire alarms being set off at 5am & kids just running wild. So needless to say I wouldn't return. Bit disappointed to be honest
We had a wonderful stay in your cottage from Sunday 9th August through to Friday 14th. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and the views spectacular, but there are a few things that I need to bring to your attention. First off, there is no information before booking, on the state of the road to the property. The first communication on the road itself is after payment. "Note: There is a long bumpy road down to the property so take care on approach." this Note does not cover how poor the final part of the road to the property is. I don't drive an 4x4 or an SUV and experienced the under-carr...more
The water heating system is completely obsolete and there is not enough warm water during the day The beds are in poor condition, and cause us sore backs. The couches are so old that they loose their skin on the floor.
