We stayed at the property last year and were not disappointed with our return this year. Upon arrival, the property was spotless and we had no concerns about the Covid situation. Yasmin , the owner again greeted us with a tray of freshly baked cakes. The property provides an excellent central base for visiting everywhere on the island. There numerous good restaurants within very easy reach. I would thoroughly recommend this property and would certainly stay there again if ever we revisit the Island.
We stayed here last year and re-booked while we were there we loved it so much. We should have stayed in June but we were able (with the help of the fantastic team at Island Holidays) to put it on a year. We were still booked for September as well and we were able to come to the Island then. We will not lie, we were apprehensive but weeks before, Island Holidays kept us updated with what was happening so there were no surprises. We are so glad we went - we had complete confidence that everything had been done to protect us in these difficult times. We are looking forward to 2021 at Clara Cott...more
Had a great time at this wonderful cottage. Very close to everything but lovely and peaceful surroundings in the evening, especially loved the wood burner. Had everything we needed, and our dog Jess loved it too! Thank you for a great place to stay, would definitely go again.
We had a fantastic holiday at one Tennyson apartment. Lovely, modern, clean apartment with extras we didn't expect like an Alexa. We had an amazing view of a full moon over the castle. It was a good central island location and easy to drive anywhere on the island from there, with nowhere further than 20 minutes.
We enjoyed our stay at Harbour View. Tastefully-decorated, well-equipped and comfortable home, spacious living room with great views over Cowes harbour. Two supermarkets (a Co-op and a Waitrose) within a couple of minutes' walk. It's in East Cowes on the opposite bank of the river to Cowes itself. The floating bridge (chain ferry) is very close by; it wasn't working during our stay, but there was a smaller passenger ferry operating in its place and got us into the town in no time. The terminal for the Red Funnel ferry to Southampton was also only a couple of minutes' walk, as was the bus ...more
The Hideaway has everything you need for a great holiday. Excellent accommodation with everything you need. Excellent location. Easy access to the whole Island. Just 15 minute walk to the town/bus station, but right out on the edge of the countryside. Excellent views. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Southford farm has been recently renovated making it fresh and comfortable for a family holiday. The kitchen is fully equipped, the rooms are all great sizes, the house has a beautiful garden and the owners are onsite for any tips or assistance. We had a great stay.
We had a very enjoyable last minute holiday at Jan Dee Cottage, despite lockdown being announced and implemented while we were there. The cottage is quite spacious and really well equipped. At this time of the year we really appreciated the heating as well. The cottage faces south with sea views, and was very bright, even in November. However, it is a terraced property, so if you are looking for a secluded garden this might not be ideal. The location in Ventnor is excellent because there is good access to the seafront at Wheeler's Bay and both the town centre and beach are fairly easy wa...more
A fantastic home away from home - Yachtsman's Tower is a truly wonderful property in an idyllic and peaceful location. Coffee on the balcony with views over the water will be a fine memory to treasure this year.
This was our first visit to IOW as a family and it didn't disappoint! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The house is in a fabulous location and has everything you could want! The information provided by Sara & Tom of what to do, where to go was so useful, especially for finding the dog friendly beaches! We were also really lucky with the weather which topped off a lovely, relaxing week! We will definitely be coming back!!
We had a lovely week here - Clare was ever so helpful and thoughtful. The flat is bigger than it looked in the photos though we hadn’t realised it was a basement (which may be entirely our fault for not reading carefully) so we were a little disappointed by the lack of views! It’s great to have off street parking and the flat is spotless and very well maintained.
A stunning holiday rental, perfect for exploring the whole of the island. The house was immaculate, fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. Full Covid measures had been taken and we all felt safe and reassured by this. Off road parking is a bonus but a bit tricky as access is via a narrow road with small maneuvering room if you have a bigger car. Lots of outside space if whether permits with garden furniture and table tennis table.
The outstanding sea view is the USP of this lovely house. Unassuming from the front this "upside down" stylish home offers high levels of comfort, well equipped cook's kitchen, a beautifully maintained garden with plentiful herbs and many flowering bushes which frame that view - nearly 180 degrees overlooking Ventnor's western slope down towards the sea. Mesmerising. This was our second visit and it didn't disappoint - despite the constraints of Covid we found shops and eating places well prepared and friendly. A wonderful place for a relaxing holiday.
The cottage is in a stunning and quiet location overlooking Bembridge Harbour. Only a few minutes walk from the beach along the causeway. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped and it was great having a washing machine to wash our muddy clothes after enjoying fabulous walks on the island. No33 on the village green does great takeaways. The village shop is only a few minutes walk so a lovely start to the day to get the paper and a few groceries. We would recommend to friends and family and we would like to return.
Great house, with kind owners, had been deep Cleaned due to Covid, I would highly recommend Bellevue.
Stayed for a week in this cosy cottage. The owners had thought of everything in regards to equipment and home comforts. Including a lovely cream tea on arrival. The cottage was tastefully and comfortably furnished. As we were out of season the area was very quiet but well lit at night although a torch is handy to go up the pathway at night. Parking on the street was not an issue but watch out for the hawthorn tree which was shedding berries and I came out one morning to find my car covered. Easy downhill access to the seafront at Bonchurch but a bit of a climb back up! Short walk into Ventnor...more
The house was clean. It had toys, and entertainment items which was great for the kids. The kitchen was very well equipped. The hosts left us a lovely postcard and bottle of wine to welcome us which was very thoughtful. Ideal location for the beach and exploring. Could not fault it.
A very good property set in a wonderful location. Excellent in the presentation of all the facilities and the highest standards of cleanliness. We would love to return for another visit.
Lovely apartment furnished to a high standard. Really clean and covid safe. This was our 2nd stay at Highlands and just as good as the first one. We will be back again next year.
we could not fault this holiday appartment in any way .The location and grounds it is set in are lovely and only a short drive to the main town of Ryde. The owners Shirly and Ian. who live on site could not be more helpfull.
Home from home. Everything we needed. Comfortable and clean. Good location, we arrived in the dark and hadn't realised it was a long, narrow gravel driveway to the farm with no lights, we almost went back thinking we had taken a wrong turn. Would have been useful to know.
We were the first to be residing in the new lodge. Though we did not have the wifi and decking when we were staying, the landlord was in the process when were vacating. It has been very comfortable and excellent stay with fully furnished.
We really enjoyed our stay at 5 Highlands, I liked the fact you have your own private entrance just down from garden level. The apartment was very clean and well equipped with bedding and towels included. I loved the two bathrooms. There is a private parking space. The only fault was to be awakened by the sound of gushing water from a boarded in waste pipe in the twin bedded room, this could be quite noisy especially early morning. I love the location of 5 Highlands, the coastal path runs alongside, as we are keen walkers this was ideal, and you can walk into Old Shanklin Village.
Fantastic uninterrupted countryside views with cows eating pasture in the fields, plus various species of birds and delightfully peaceful; an idyllic retreat to recharge batteries from the current day madness. Hilltops had all the modern conveniences we required, plus comfy sofas and beds. Switching the lounge areas would make good use of the floor to ceiling patio doors. Will definitely come back for a longer stay next year!
Great location. Quiet and cosy. Great walks around the surrounding areas too! Great facilities also and the piglets close by keep the kids entertained!
We recently stayed at this delightful cottage, situated in an ideal location in Ryde near the beautiful sandy beach. It was our first time in the Isle of Wight and we enjoyed exploring the island, so found the cottage perfect for that. It was very comfortable, spacious and well equipped, the bed was really comfortable which was a must after daily long coastal walks! The Cottage was tastefully decorated throughout having a fresh and homely feel. We will definitely return to the island and would not hesitate to return to “The Cottage”.
We had a fantastic stay here. Lovely place. Great location. Clean and comfortable with a great place to walk just a minute down the road. Perfect if you have a dog. Owners were lovely. Would definitely stay again.
Had a really lovely stay in this property. My only negative comment would be that the garden was looking rather untidy but given the time of year I suppose this is understandable. It would be good to make the recycling/general waste disposal instructions clearer.
The cottage is very nice and spacious and in a great position overlooking the sea. The badgers arrived nightly for their food and there was some lovely walks in the locality. On our return home however we were advised that our security deposit would be retained as the housekeeper had reported damage to a towel rail. We had absolutely no knowledge of this and were very upset at the accusation. I have no idea what this was all about - could it have been normal wear and tear, poor maintenance etc etc. It did teach me a very valuable lesson though and that is to inspect rental properties tho...more
A great place to stay with stunning views. Very clean and well presented (everything you need) Beautiful part of the country to discover. Ventnor is gorgeous. Walks down to the town are not for the faint hearted, but there is parking if you need to drive.
We couldn’t fault our half term holiday to the IOW except the weather which didn’t stop our fun. 2. Brunswick Terrace was home from home as our granddaughter put it. From the minute we opened the front door it was welcome all the way. Exceptionally clean and very well equipped with milk in fridge, tea and coffee and lovely IOW shaped biscuits. We’d recommend this accommodation to anyone and we’ll be back.
This cottage with it's unbelievable view, at the waters edge. Spend evenings enjoying one of the two balconys. With a glass of wine and a good book, or simply watch the sailing. Anchor cottage has a well equipped kitchen. Nice to have both Dish washer as well as a washing machine. Beds are sooo comforortable. RECOMEND this holiday home.
Stunning cottage, everything we'd hoped for and more! Hygiene 5 star - you'd never know dogs stay there too!
The apartment had lots of space especially in the bedroom. The TV had been upgraded as it was much larger than the one shown in the photographs. The heated towel rail in the shower room was a luxury. There was also a communal washing machine, the spin cycle came in very handy. Though access to a collapsible clothes airer would have been useful if we had had rain. The house is in a very good location, quiet at night and lovely views. I'd recommend bringing some binoculars to watch the deer and other wild life. You can walk into Newport in minutes for shopping and buses or drive to the main roa...more
Another wonderful holiday at this bungalow, which has everything your need to have a relaxing time away from home. Highly recommended.
quiet and relaxing, home from home atmosphere, very friendly hosts, ideal location for rural walking, handy village shop with all your needs for your stay, stunning views everywhere you go on the island, enjoyed it very much.
We loved our stay at Sea Vista! The property is in excellent condition, and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. An incredible amount of work has been done to get it looking the way it does, as can be seen by the before and after pictures in the folder. The owners have done a really lovely job, and the house had everything we could have wished for in terms of amenities, utensils, gadgets etc. etc. The kids (and grown ups alike) particularly loved the summer house with pool table, darts board and bluetooth speaker - we spent many an evening in there after using having BBQ's on the terrace over...more
We (my sister, brother in law and I) had a wonderful stay at St Catherine's view. It's an authentic, characterful and cosy old cottage, furnished in a suitable style, retaining many features which we loved, but with all home comforts, and well equipped. It has lovely seaviews, a sheltered spot to sit outside and a cottage style garden opposite, with a gate leading to the public car park. The position is great for walking down the hill and along the seawall path to Ventnor, or up into town. The path down is quite steep and may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties, also the stai...more
Wonderful location in the isle of Wight. Looking forward to staying there again in 2021 and have already booked a 7 night stay in March. I went to Bembridge school as a boarder and have been back to the Isle of Wight three times in the last year. One day I want to live in Bembridge. Stunning property with easy access to local shops and pubs.
We chose the house because of its proximity to Shanklin front as we had two young children in the party. The house was spacious and well stocked with all the essentials, very comfortable and clean. Shops were within easy walking distance and although there was no parking outside the property, we found parking on the surrounding roads. Would happily stay here again.
Finally another excellent stay after the misery of weeks of lockdowns and the inactions of this inept and incompetent so-called government
Our family of 4 stayed for the first week of half term. The location in Ventnor was good but it is up a steep hill. Short walk to the coast and the coarse sand beach. Some nice places to eat - especially recommend The Seapot and the Crab Shack for lunches. The cottage is comfortable, well equipped and has a sea view from *every* window. There is a parking space but the road is vary narrow so no room to turn the car around - recommend reversing down the hill. In summary, we'd definitely recommend staying at Trelawney.
A lovely barn based in a great, quiet location. Good access to the local village with lots of amenities and easy access to the rest of the Island. Nice relaxing stay with the kids and thoughtful additions in the house that help make a stay more enjoyable. We'd book again for sure.
We loved 12 The Manor, Shanklin and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Our booking was for 4 adults, comprising 2 couples. The accommodation is very spacious the photos don't really do it justice. The location is quiet but less than a 10 minute walk from central Shanklin. We have been to the Island for many holidays this was one of our favourite places to stay.
This was our second short stay at Sands Cottage and it was every bit as good as the first! Location is great - St Helens is a lovely village with a pub and corner shop practically on your doorstep, and the beach a short 15-20 min walk away. The house was spotless and had been thoroughly cleaned and sanitised with a 'checklist' to show you what had been done prior to your arrival. The decoration throughout is great, and kitchen and bathrooms newly done. Fab shower too! Parking is a bit tricky as its a narrow one way road with only a small space for one car, but that's manageable. Also the ...more
Woodside Cottage provided my family and myself with an excellent holiday base.It was an extremely well equipped property both inside and out. The location of Woodside Cottage was ideal for touring the Isle of Wight. Thank you.Jan Harvey (Mrs.)
A lovely time had by all at Hill Cottage...1st time stayed here and would definitely return. Ample room for 6 plus 3 dogs and the annexe a big plus especially with Covid...immaculately clean and everything in house to make real home from home. Only thing we not used to but probably Isle of Wight, 1 small dustbin to put all rubbish and no recycling so had to bag all rubbish in bin liners and leave beside bin
My first visit to the Isle of Wight and this cottage was in the perfect location to see everything. I was really struck with the beauty of the island. Wonderful walks right on the doorstep The cottage was really well equipped and relaxing I am already looking at rebooking for next September.
We enjoyed a lovely short break in Tennyson Cottage, a spacious and well equipped modern house, tucked away in a new development in Freshwater. Communication from Island Holiday Homes was excellent throughout and the welcome card was a nice touch. We found the house had been cleaned to a very high standard, with clear procedures in place for Covid19. Great facilities, including two spacious bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, a comfortable lounge/diner, a downstairs loo and off road parking to the side of the house. For us, the house is in a great location in a quiet corner of the island, aw...more
Lovely house and very well equipped. Very clean on arrival. Great layout and plenty of space. Thank you for a lovely stay.
A beautiful cottage in a great location, we had such a lovely week and hope to return. Great assistance and customer service from Island Homes. Thank you.
Daisy cottage is in a great location with easy access to shops, restaurants and the sea front. it had everything we needed and much more. The two terrace areas are great for enjoying the views and the sun. Due to a neighbouring property they were shaded from the sun from about 4 o'clock onwards (we were there late Sept so would expect more sun Jun-Aug) but were still lovely to sit out on when the weather was warm. Parking can be an issue and you may need to park on a nearby street or in the nearby free car park that you can see from the terrace. There is plenty of space inside an...more
We enjoyed our stay at Queensbury Lodge. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very kind to us during the week but we found the Lodge to be an excellent base for exploring the Island. The friendly owners who live next door were on hand for any problems. Would perhaps suggest having an indoor airer for drying the washing as we couldn't put it outside because of the weather.
The apartment is well located within walking distance of old Shanklin village and the shops in town. Rylestone gardens and Shanklin Chine are close by and well worth visiting. The walk through the landslip to Bonchurch and Ventnor is not hard and very rewarding. We returned by bus from Ventnor, every half hour, to the bus stop 100 metres from the apartment. The whole apartment is well furnished and comfortable. Good parking on site. The living area is great, really light and airy and direct access to the sunny verandah. The service from Island Holiday Homes was excellent, always helpful and p...more
Stayed here many times because we love the location. We prefer flat 4as it has a bath, but both are excellent and it’s good to have a parking space.
Second time staying at this apartment. It’s in a beautiful position with large balcony to sit and watch/listen to the sea. Well equipped with everything you could want for your stay. Spotlessly clean.
Booked the house for Cowes week (which was cancelled) and because we thought it looked ideal for our dog (which sadly died before we came). Nevertheless we had a great two weeks. The house is very comfortable, has everything we needed and is in a good position. The downstairs shower room is definitely a bonus addition to the property especially as the cold tap upstairs very rarely worked!
We had a lovely stay. The apartment is well equipped with everything you need, plenty of kitchen appliances and apparatus, including plenty of children's cutlery, plates, etc. Highchairs, boosters, travel cots, stairgate all available. A couple of things are a little tired, but on the whole a tidy apartment in a great location with a lovely view from the apartment of the beach.
We had a great week in October. The bungalow is a great location for all the things you can do on the island. The bungalow’s facilities were comfortable and high spec. Would like to return in the summer to be able to use the lovely gardens.
Lovely cottage with every item you could ever want. So well equiped it was just like home.(Even caters for children & dogs) clean, comfy and very convenient for every attraction. The only negatives were parking as it was difficult but there is a car park very close to cottage, and we feel a laminate on the rubbish bins would have been good as we had no idea which day was bin day. Apart from that i would definitely book Cosie cottage again. Very good value for money, with lovely attention to detail
Clean and bright accommodation, reasonably equipped, fantastic views. The only issue we had was with the unfathomable television set-up which runs off several devices and is complicated and non-intuitive to operate, even for those who are tech-savvy! But this is a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent and comfortable apartment with wonderful views over Shanklin and Sandown Bay and the English Channel beyond.
Very good value for money stay in a lovely home with lots of space. The house is a little dated in areas but the comfort and space make up for that. It was a little dusty in places but the main areas kitchen bathroom were clean. Downstairs toilet as well. Lots of parking good as we have a large van as well as a car. The team booking us in were great. Lots of email updates prior to travel with directions and times etc. Isle of Wight is beautiful with lots to do. We will be back
The house that we stayed in was in good condition. When we first arrived the house and rooms were all cleaned and wiped down. There was plenty of space in the bedrooms to store all of your clothes with the drawers and wardrobes, and plenty of hangers to go with them. There was plenty of pots and pans to use in the kitchen to feed 7 people, along with a big fridge freezer to store enough food as well. Dishwasher and washing machine as well, only tiny downside was that if you did any washing, there was only 1 clothes horse to dry your clothes, there was no washing line. The dining room / l...more
We have stayed in a variety of accommodation across the Isle of Wight over the last ten years, from caravans, lodges and houses. This cottage had everything we needed and was far lore competitively priced than a caravan break. Whilst the cottage felt sparse because the soft furnishings were removed for covid etc, it was comfortable for us. The conservatory was great for the family to use throughout the day into the evening and having a private garden was lovely. The only drawback was that the stairs were very steeper than I anticipated and I worried about my 8yr old on them, if someone had lim...more
Due to the Covid-19 situation we were looking for somewhere to have a family holiday of 6+adults and one infant after our french trip was cancelled twice! Having not been to the Isle of Wight for over 25 years fond memories spurred us to book here. So the hunt was on for a house that would give us the space for relaxation and comfort to enjoy a break after a long and difficult lockdown/ COVID-19 restricted year. The Downedge is a lovely house full of character and charm (although in need of some tlc) and with plenty of space for all to enjoy. Great family spaces to accommodate all, but with en...more
20 Bellevue Road is light and airy, with wooden floors throughout. The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge & freezer and just about every utensil you could want! An upstairs bathroom and downstairs shower & toilet means two people can get ready at the same time, and there are sea views from the landing and single bedroom. The seperate dining room off the kitchen is a luxury not usually seen in a rental cottage, and we loved the fresh flowers left for us as a welcome! The decor and individual touches give it real character and it felt very comfortable. A short walk f...more
We have just returned from a lovely few days at Seagulls. It is a very comfortable and well equipped family house. The location is great for the beach and visiting the rest of the Island. The only downside is the outside area could do with a bit of TLC.
This was our second visit to Rofford Lodge and the accommodation was all that we hoped for. The town of Yarmouth was an easy walk either via the old railway walk or along the sea front. There were plenty of other walks within easy travelling distance. It felt safe considering the circumstances we are living in at this present time and all the people on the Island were obeying all the government guidelines. The lodge was extremely comfortable, clean and tidy with lots of personal details. We will certainly return to this property.
Great flat. Great location. Would def stay there again. Few points... Bigger fridge and freezer would be nice as was bit of squeeze to fit everything. Bought lots of food as due to Covid ate in most days. Also TV was bit difficult to sort but that could be down to us. Maybe some basic instructions... Flat actually better in reality than photos suggest.
Excellent for exploring IOW. Dip in road over ford not good for car suspension. More than one bath towel between us would be good. Loved seeing wildlife in the garden including a red squirrel.
We booked this cottage for the second time after missing out last year due to it's popularity. The cottage is in an ideal location for the local shops and a number of public houses. Clean and comfortable with a good sized garden for our dog. Garden not at it's best like previously but due to the pandemic it is understandable. Good off street paring for our large estate car was great but you should always reverse in rather than drive in as you do get cars coming down the main street into Yarmouth. All facilities in good working order and we found no problems with anything in the house. We had a...more
First time in this lovely holiday chalet at a site we visit every year. High standard of cleanliness. Very well equipped kitchen. Beautiful sunsets from the patio. Would stay here again.
Stayed here last year, booked again for this year. The house was lovely and in a great location, so handy for running the dogs on the beach in a morning. The house seemed to have had some utensils and pots taken away from the kitchen, I had to buy a can opener and I left it at the house for the next visitors to use but that didn’t spoil anything. I am pleased to say that the internet was working well and didn’t have any problems with it. Visitors to the property need to be mindful and put the bins out on bin day because the general waste bin was full to the top when we arrived, we did our bit ...more
Wonderful, bespoke accommodation and location. Very quiet until the storm that came in on the penultimate day (make sure you grab a bedroom on the east side - away from the front door!). Wonderful sea views and sunrises. Very secluded - Waitrose delivery man 'well I've lived on the Island twenty five years and I didn't know this was here!' Very well equipped kitchen-wise. Two graters anyone? But we did miss or couldn;t find oven gloves. Not that we did any 'proper' cooking but we did use the grill.. There were very minor housekeeping things - some lights didn't work and the bathroom ex...more
Sea Grove, the bungalow, is of a high standard. It is very spacious, very well presented, has a well-equipped kitchen, large utility room and the veranda and terrace are just lovely. Everywhere is on a hill in Ventnor but we much enjoyed the walk to town everyday where the shopping is good. We found the sea-front restaurants and the Spyglass Inn welcoming and accommodating for children. Despite the prevailing Covid situation the island felt safe and relaxed. Local residents are particularly friendly and helpful as were our contacts at the Island Holiday Homes. With a car we were well able t...more
We have stayed at Woodleigh twice now, I would highly recommend it. Very well equipped . Cots and other baby equipment available if needed. Books and games provided. Very comfortable and clean.
Great central location for exploring the island. Could do with a few more larger glasses and cereal bowls in the kitchen.
We were a family of 10, three generations. The house, garden, beds and linen/towels provided were all good. The kitchen is overstocked with the owners personal possessions, and we had to find and separate a set of plates and cutlery on the first day to use for the week. There are also too many personal possessions in some of the rooms leaving very little space for the guests. It feels like you are staying in someone else's home rather than a holiday home, we felt that the pricing should reflect this. Sadly the house does not live up to it's 4* rating (on cottages.com). The kitchen was not very...more
Unfortunately The Salt Pot had not been cleaned. We waited until 5pm as requested so the house could have a double clean. No one had been in since the previous people had left. We had to stay in a hotel for the first night which was not a good start to the holiday. The door to the balcony was very difficult to lock, the shower screen broke and the gas hob was difficult to obtain a steady flame. The instructions for the use of the dvd could be improved. The house is well situated within an easy walk of Ventnor.
Lovely spotlessly clean well placed 2 bedroom ground floor apartment. Marked down comfort and condition solely due to the decor being a little outdated and the beds a bit uncomfortable. Perfect location for holiday makers as a short walk to Shanklin shops and places to eat.
Overall we were very happy with our stay. Bonito is a small bungalow in a elevated position with wonderful sea views from the panoramic lounge window. Ideal for two adults; the second bedroom is quite small and possibly only suitable for a child. Double bed very comfortable and room adequate but not large. All furnishings are simple but tasteful and the kitchen is well equipped. The shower room and toilet are separate but both rooms are tiny; reconfiguring this into one space would be beneficial. The lounge/diner is spacious, light and welcoming. The outside space is attractive and offers diff...more
This is a wonderfully located holiday base with fantastic views over sandown/Shanklin and the English Channel. A large sized well appointed cottage within easy driving of a number of beaches and tourist attractions (needles furthest away at approx an hour drive). However, we would have liked a lamp in the lounge area (we used one from a bedroom), the bathrooms are carpeted and we would have liked access to more pillows. Unable to get hot water from the taps but that may be due to something we did not do. A clothes horse would also have been useful. We would stay again.
Well equipped flat and great views. Peaceful location and great for walks ( but you must like hills).
Well equiped nice cottage 2 minute walk from Yarmouth town centre. A very comfortable and plesent stay.
Only slight criticism was the intermittent problems we had with the wi-fi. We have already recommended it to friends
The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and a well equipped kitchen. Great location for coastal walks, and not too far to get into Vendor for shopping (can't help the lack of a pavement in places!) One thing I would improve would be the size of the 'double' bed - did it a bit hard sleeping comfortably.
Lovely cottage! Had a lovely week. Well equipt, clean and comfortable. Will stay again. Highly recommend.
Thus cottage is in a good location with sea views from a large patio at back of property. Parking out side not easy but there is a free carpark a very short walk along the road. Just below this car park is a slope down to sea front where you can walk into Ventnor. The cottage kitchen is very well supplied with equipment, good size fridge and freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Down stairs bath and toilet and up stairs another small toilet. Double bedroom has plenty of storage space with sea view and in front bedroom there are 3 beds. Good for the larger family.
No heater in third bedroom. Beds not comfortable. Only five mugs so always having to wash these up. Daughter was bitten in the upstairs bedroom. No cushions on the settees but this may be Covid related? Expensive to rent.
Morse Cottage is in a lovey location with plenty of room but the cottage we found to be very tired. All the curtains require maintenance throughout the building and one set seemed to be running with moths. We did leave a list of things on the dining table that we found e.g. no cereal bowls for breakfast (we ate out of kitchen bowls), the bottom tray of the dishwasher was broken and would not slide out - parts broken parts left in the fruit bowl, the ensuite toilet seat was broken on arrival, the iron did not work (no fuse), no toaster, no welcome pack with instructions and safety notes and n...more
Rather small - needs wardrobe space........................................................................
The house is in a great location & has a spacious living area for the 4 of us staying. The house needs lots of small repairs, and would benefit from a lick of paint in all rooms... a small amount of time & money would make this property perfect Some examples are : the skirting falling off in bathroom, mould on shower curtains, mould in washing machine, kitchen blind filthy, had the inconvenience of having to run upstairs to turn boiler on and off every time we wanted hot water for the sink.
Norlands Cottage is comfortable and homely, if dated in its decor. There was plenty of space for the six of us. The conservatory was particularly enticing and warmed by October sun, with views of Yarmouth and of the garden. There is a useful, good-sized utility/boot room and the downstairs shower is very good. The beds were comfortable and, when needed, the central heating was very efficient. The staircase is extremely steep. The location of this house is great. About 10 minutes easy walk into Yarmouth Town, two minutes from Yarmouh Beach and lots of established walks from the cottage.
The property matches the images seen on the rental sites - it is modern, spacious and provides good space for a family to be together but not on top of each other. Terry & Alison from Island Holiday Homes were professional and responsive from booking and during our stay when they were needed the most. On arrival one of the ensuite bathrooms needed urgent attention from a plumber due to an overpowering sewage smell. Whilst that was being addressed, the ensuite to the master bedroom started flooding as the shower was blocked. The plumber managed to sort both situations out without furt...more
1st floor flat with stunning direct sea views Central location in lovely Ventnor Decor & furniture are random old & dirty The towels & sheets were clean but old The flat needed cleaning. Dust on all surfaces. Bathrooms & kitchen filthy Hair in all storage drawers Windows not opening or stuck open Situated on an intersection opposite a pub with loud music outside at weekends. 4 nights out of 7 I was woken by drunks fighting, singing, vomiting etc One Yale lock on front door didn’t feel safe
