We very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely little house. Great views of the constantly changing river and although there is some noise from the chain ferry we didn't find it at all irritating. Nice to be welcomed with biscuits, tea bags, spare toilet rolls etc. Very warm, comfortable and homely.
Had a great time at this wonderful cottage. Very close to everything but lovely and peaceful surroundings in the evening, especially loved the wood burner. Had everything we needed, and our dog Jess loved it too! Thank you for a great place to stay, would definitely go again.
We returned to Chine House Apartment after a 4 or 5 year gap and we have to say it did not disappoint. The extra little touches that the owners provide to welcome you are a real treat. The accommodation is an absolute delight to stay in with a really comfortable bed that you don't want to get out of. This place provides all the comforts of home in an ideal location that is both quiet and perfectly situated for all that the local area has to offer.
Loved the house, the driveway, downstairs, back yard and upstairs! The owner had thought of everything. Great location too, 5 minute walk to beach, couple of minutes from a shop and play area.
The apartment on the first floor was spacious and had large windows with lovely panoramic views over the countryside. The furnishings and equipment were of a very good standard and the location enabled easy access to all parts of the island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The owners were very helpful
We had a fabulous few days on the Isle of Wight, staying at this lovely cottage. The location of the cottage is perfect for the beach and Ryde's amenities. It is also really close to the bus station for exploring the island. We found the cottage perfect for our needs, it is so well equipped there really isn't anything else you need for a home from home stay. It is comfortable, spotlessly clean and excellent value for money. We will definitely return, thank you
This has been excellent accommodation in all respects. Very friendly owner too. The property is well kept and in an excellent location as local to where I usually live
Great location, superb accommodation. This property is loved and the owners have thought of everything. Thank you.
We have stayed in Bembridge for summer holidays every year for over 50 years. Since we sold our house we have stayed three times in the Annex. It is perfect for us as it’s very close to our orchard and to Swains beach where we have always gone. It sleeps 6 which is the minimum number for us and it has more or less everything we need.
Excellent cottage in a superb position with excellent views. Only one complaint , all are party found the settees uncomfortable. We would definitely stay at Mole cottage again.
Great location. very well equipped. comfortable.wi fi. TV parking outside. pleasant neighbours. friendly locals. short walk to beach and good beach cafe. Very enjoyable stay
The house was clean. It had toys, and entertainment items which was great for the kids. The kitchen was very well equipped. The hosts left us a lovely postcard and bottle of wine to welcome us which was very thoughtful. Ideal location for the beach and exploring. Could not fault it.
Excellent location, house and staff knowledge and support. We had 4 adults and 2 children, everything we needed was in the house and the location was lovely. The Isle of Wight has everything a family of all ages need.
This is our second time at The Hayloft - we chose to return here as we love to explore and this is an excellent base for seeing the whole of the island. Also, the accommodation is really lovely - homely, comfortable, spacious and very well equipped. We enjoy staying in the countryside along with all the island has to offer within easy reach. The beds are very comfortable, both in the master bedroom and the twin room which the kids stayed in. We had another excellent holiday on the Isle of Wight, made great by the high standard of the accommodation. We would highly recommend staying here.
Ideally suited for exploring the whole of the island, the apartment had lovely views and was very well equipped for all our needs. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The Isle of White itself was great, so much to visit and do - we had a lovely time.
Stayed for a week in July 2018 and the apartment was virtually brand new. Very well equipped and the views across the Solent are just fantastic - bring some binoculars. Good to have off road parking available. I would definitely recommend. Please note that this is a one bedroom, max 2 people apartment as the listing description was not clear on that.
This is our second visit to Yew Tree Apartment One this year and it was just as fantastic as the first. The apartment was warm, excellently furnished and contained everything that we needed. As always, Shirley and Ian (the on-site owners) were friendly and helpful. We’re looking forward to next year’s visit.
Central to everything on the island and on the edge of the grounds of Arreton Barns, Lavender Cottage has everything you could possibly need, The large garden was perfect as we took our spaniel. There are stunning walks right on the doorstep. It was great for us with the dog as The Dairymans Daughter pub is dog friendly (as is almost anywhere on the island). The cottage can sleep five which would be fine in good weather when you are out and about most of the day but a little tight if you plan on spending a lot of time inside (but why would you with so much to do on your doorstep?). We love...more
Our 7th visit to Fernwood Cottage shows how much we love this delightful holiday home. The warmth, care and attention shown by our hosts is marvellous. Greeted by a Cream Tea after a long journey is wonderful. Quiet location near to the village pond, it only takes minutes to be on your way to all parts of the island. We will return next year.
This is one of the best quality self catering establishment I have experienced. A superb bungalow, with great sea views, attractive garden and so well equipped. However, it was disappointing that the heating was not controllable and necessitated not being warm for the first part of the holiday. In addition the TV remote did not work. These points were remedied swiftly after I called in the office on the Monday. Whilst not on your control I would also state the cost of the ferry was totally disproportionate to the time on board. In addition some of the IoW roads were rubbish.
The pictures of The Squeak really do not do it justice. Very roomy and light and the location is excellent, right on the major footpaths in the area. Friendly and helpful owners too. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others
First impressions are everything and yew tree does not disappoint.spacious ,immaculately presented in a good location with hosts Ian and Shirley likeable and friendly with a great attention for detail. I would have no qualms about recommending this property and will be staying again at some point. Really well done Ian and Shirley
We stayed at the apartment for our first holiday with our 3 month old. It was a beautifully finished apartment within easy walking distance of Shanklin. The agents were very helpful in contacting us beforehand to check travel cot and high chair requirements and answering any questions we had. All in all a great first family holiday.
Lovely cottage very spacious plenty of room so not under each others feet. Very pleasant relaxing garden, easy access to the island. Anne was a very friendly, warm host who made our welcome and stay very pleasant.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the Isle of Wight and 2 farm cottages was a good base for our adventures. Whitwell has a pub (very large with good food) and a garage selling fuel, that’s it! The post office has sadly closed which means there was no shop to walk to in the mornings. Apart from this we found getting to where we were visiting from Whitwell was very easy. The cottage itself was functional with few luxuries but everything worked as it should. You do need to reverse into the drive as it is difficult to see coming out of the drive. The cottage would suit dog walkers, with the har...more
This is an ideal cottage for exploring the island. The furthest you have to travel is about 20mile to the Needles. But everything is within 20mins drive. The cottage is well kept and very clean. It can be difficult to find as the number for the property has faded. Within 15mins walk of the centre with 2 lovely pubs and also the Model Village which is well worth the visit.
The house had everything (and more) we needed for our stay, it felt like a real home from home. We stayed here for a week with friends, the house is perfect for two families without feeling cramped. Lyndean is perfectly located and ideal for young families. We would recommend staying here to anyone. Thank you very much for our lovely welcome gift, we will be back for another stay
Spent a lovely week in the Sanctuary but :.. 1. Could do with more crockery at times as we were always loading up the dishwasher ! 2. Needs a dressing table and mirror as there is nowhere in the bedrooms to ' do my hair' ! 3. Too light in the bedrooms in the mornings with no curtains , only thin blinds !
Only one suggestion just make sure the contracted cleaners put out clean towels the towels we had left didn’t smell clean, it’s like they had been used and left to dry so had to rewash them all, wasn’t an issue and certainly didn’t put a dampener on our holiday hence why we’ve booked again !
In the heart of Ventnor close to all the things you need including the seafront. What more can you ask for. Appartement is modern equiped , parking a bit thight ( and not the nicest view) but the positive is you can Always park near to the house. Island hliday homes were very helpfull, incl the booking of the Ferry. We will be back
A good base for a multi-generational break - central location enabled visits to different parts of the island and on site segway and archery proved a great hit.
Stayed in June, weather was brilliant. Stayed in September, weather not so good but loads of lovely Red Squirrels. Doesn't matter on weather, cottage, garden and view was brilliant. Loved it ai much we are going back next year.
This is the second year that my daughter, son-in-law and myself have stayed at Beechwood Cottage. We found it an absolutely delightful place to stay the first time and could not wait to return to return this year and no doubt we shall pay it another visit next year. The decor is beautiful and every thing has been done to make sure your visit is a pleasure. Every thing you require to make your stay comfortable is provided including a welcome hamper. The grounds are lovely, the squirrels a bonus and the owners a pleasure to meet.
A pleasant modern well-equipped flat was let down by poor cleaning - there was visible dust and cobwebs in numerous locations.
We loved Ye Olde Cottage which we went to for Christmas week. The owner had decorated it very nicely indeed for the holidays. It was well supplied with everything. The cottage has a lot of character, sensitively restored, and its position right in the middle of the charming village of Niton was perfect. We would like to return.
Superb property - the location was a minor problem but very manageable. The property has been well maintained with everything you need, plus more, for a self catering holiday.
The photos gave a really good idea of the facilities and all was as described. We enjoyed the connection with the beach and the local facilities.
We decided on a last minute trip to IOW and found Casa Nostra on the website. We found everything lovely and clean and wished we could have stayed longer. Even though the bungalow is on the corner of crossroads we we surprised how quiet the traffic was.
3 of us spent the week completing the island coastal path. We used the bus on our outward and return journeys. The location was ideal and weather superb - we had a great time.We would thoroughly recommend the cottage however the following would help 1 It should be mademuch clearer that there is no bed linen or Wi Fi. 2 A total lack of instructions on all appliances, heating, refuse etc We would have paid a little more and had these. However a great place to stay.
Lovely family accommodation, would recommend, our dog felt quite at home! No issues with parking, quiet road
A beautiful barn conversation in a picturesque location. A short walk from the quaint village of Godshill and ideally situated for exploring the rest of the island. Warm and friendly owners who are very welcoming. Great for the family.
Have stayed here in different apartments twice a year for the last 10 years and it has always been amazing. Just what we need to recharge our batteries. Calm, quiet, lovely walks, fantastic views
This accommodation was booked for a family party in Bembridge. Location was perfect as we could walk to the party venue, family home and the beach. More than met our expectations. Only one negative - boiler was noisy overnight.
Lovely house, well situated for visiting everywhere on the island. House was clean, tidy and warm. It was great to return to a warm and cosy house after spending the day out and about.
This apartment has a fabulous uninterrupted view of The Solent. You could stay indoors just looking out to sea, there’s always a variety of yachts, boats and shipping to watch. So don’t forget the binoculars for your ringside seat. The apartment is neat and tidy but to go with that splendid view, a few luxury touches would be appreciated and, quite possibly in view of its location, be expected.
We had a great holiday at Hope Cottage for the second year running. Very comfortable. Enclosed garden with trampoline and swings much appreciated. Kitchen diner very good for the family (3 generations). Location excellent.
The house was amazing; we were an extended family of 12 and were able to have all our meals in the lovely light kitchen diner. The kitchen contained everything you would need when catering for a large group. I would have preferred to have had an extra bed in the largest room and not bunks and single in the smallest bedroom. It was good to have two twin bedded rooms as these aren't always available in holiday lets! We were disappointed with the advertised Wendy House, croquet sets etc. The Wendy House looked as if it hadn't been visited for many years; broken door and windows, ivy coming i...more
This is our 2nd time at seagulls and this time we stayed for 3 weeks. We were not let down as usual. The location is excellant, with beautiful sandy beaches just across the road, food and drinks in the hut next door and extreamly friendly hotel bar behind. Sandown town with food stores and many resturants just a five minute walk there is no need for a car although the driveway can fit 3 cars and a jetski easily. 8 of us easily fit with 2 joining us in the sofa bed room for a weekend. Although this is a very small sofa bed so either 2 small children or 1 adult. 3 large bedrooms and 1 good sized...more
This house is in a great location for Bembridge Harbour with brilliant beaches just a stones throw away. It is also a great location for Bembridge Village and all the wonderful shops and facilities. The garage was a great asset, very well equipped with toys, chairs etc - it was also a secure storage area for our bikes. The bedrooms were a great size and there was certainly plenty of room to sleep 9 people. However, the linen had obviously not been dried properly in the past and had a musty unpleasant smell to it. We were there for two weeks and there was a midweek linen change although we...more
Spent a very comfortable week in this property. Cowes is not our favourite spot on the island but the property provided a good base and the views over the Solent were exceptional. Since our last visit solar heating had been installed which made a continuous noise in the small entrance hall and bathroom but did not cause any issues in the rest of the flat. We would not hesitate to book this property again provided it offered value for money.
Comfortable accommodation in a good location. I think if the decor had a little update it would be even better and appeal to more families. We would have preferred a double bed in the main bedroom rather than two singles but that is our personal preference. Plenty of walks nearby which we love when we are away and plenty of local ammenities. Would definately stay again in the future but would be keen to see decor updated first.
Perfect position for anyone with a dog as there is a lane immediately outside which leads to Brading down and the village pub is very dog friendly. The welcome pack was very generous and the cottage was very well equipped (although a hair drier would have been appreciated). Probably not suitable for anyone with mobility problems as the stairs are steep and the toilet/bathroom is downstairs. However apart from that we were well impressed.
Rofford Lodge was perfect for our holiday needs, a relaxing retreat away from the busier part of the Isle of Wight. Well stocked with everything we needed to cook at home, including a generous welcome basket. Close to many lovely beaches and attractions just a short walk or drive away.
We had a lovely time in this spacious cottage. Everything we needed was thoughtfully provided including a travel cot and high chair, books and toys for our two year old.
Beautiful views and great layout in this well-equipped property situated in a quiet location, a short walk from Ventnor's amenities. We really felt at home there. Very helpful and thorough housekeeping. Could possibly benefit from better heat controls in bedrooms.
We had no complaints about the accommodation but the facilities on what seemed to be a full Park were pretty much useless. We walked up to the centre at 6.05pm for dinner for 6 people only to be told we close at 6pm as we only have 1 member of staff! Bar was closed at 6pm, so every night we had to leave the site to eat out - come on Gurnard Pines get your act together!
Lovely bungalow in a convenient location in Ventnor, within walking distance of the town centre. Well thought out accommodation. We especially liked the lounge, which has a whole glazed wall and French doors opening out onto the patio. The garden is completely enclosed and was great for our dog, who loved to sunbathe on the patio! Surrounding trees mean that the garden is a real sun-trap and is sheltered from the worst of the winds. Great kitchen. Comfortable beds. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
We booked Grove Cottage for a 4 night break in November. We'd not stayed in the house before, but it proved to be a very good choice. We thought the cottage was delightful, with a great feel and good value for money. We have already booked our next visit and hope to return in the summer to take advantage of the super garden. Good points: - Very well kitted out. - Comfortable, period style, furnishings. - Lots of storage space - Off road parking - a rarity in the centre of Yarmouth. - Plumbing, hot water & heating all good - can sometimes be a bit of issue in holiday rentals. - Beauti...more
This is a beautiful house in a perfect location. We were very comfortable and very happy with the accommodation. We would stay there again and recommend to others.
Fantastic week, weather was perfect. Flat was clean and tidy and welcome bits were a lovely surprise. Comfy sofa and beds. Great location, an easy walk to shops and beach but because of that the car parking space is a couple of minutes walk away but it wasn’t a problem for us. Only negatives were the chest of drawers in one of the bedrooms is a bit rickety and if 6 people are staying there are only 4 dining chairs. Overall a great place.
A great sized house with various options for sleeping arrangements - very useful for sharing with another family and/or differing age groups! Lovely kitchen with plenty of storage, utensils, cooking & fridge facilities. large dining & living areas, as well as a smaller tv room for the less social among us! The homeowners had most generously left plenty of games, books & dvds (which could prove valuable in bad weather) & the garden was a brilliant size for games, as well as the options of BBQ with plenty of outside dining furniture. The house was situated in an ideal location on the island ...more
Had a short stay at the Salt Pot. Initially a little disappointed at the bedroom configuration , the pictures on the web suggest there are two double beds then a room with singles and a bunk. There is only one double bed. The balconies are reached either by a steep external staircase, or through a bedroom, so not easily accessible. There is only a small front garden, not secure, so for those with children or dogs not ideal. The fire you are obviously not encouraged to use (no wood provided, and grate filled with a candle). This sounds all negative and our stay certainly wasn’t .The house ...more
Overall we felt one shower wasn’t adequate enough as we had 3 teenagers plus myself & my husband. He felt the wet room needed an inner screen to stop the water flooding out into other areas. We were disappointed that being on the periphery of the property it was a long way to reach the swimming pool & games room so felt that was misleading in the advertising, it would have meant taking the children by car & picking them up again so subsequently we didn’t use this facility. We had a lovely stay at Treetops with an added bonus of wonderful weather & shopping facilities just around the corner.
A lovely secluded house big enough for our family without being on top of one another. The pool was a big hit with the kids.
Lovely house in ideal location, an area we know well. Dissapointed that when we arrived at the alloted time of occupation, the property had not been cleaned at all, Bed linen with hair on them in all the beds and dirty towels on the floor of the shower. After a phone call to the holiday operators, the cleaners arrived 45 mins later. Apart from the issue of the cleaning, we had a wonderful week.
Fantastic flat - light and airy with spectacular panoramic views over the sea. Shanklin is a lovely venue - we cycled along the front with the kids to Sandown. Beaches are lovely and clean, lots of cafes/restaurants to eat in. A real family feel. The approach to the flat is steep but that didn't bother us as we are active and like the exercise! Was also lovely to have a garden for the kids to play in and a patio to sit out and have a morning cuppa or lunch, again with the amazing views.
The condition of the Living Room Curtain Linings made us think twice about sitting outside. We Love IOW. Thank you
Morse Cottage is in a lovey location with plenty of room but the cottage we found to be very tired. All the curtains require maintenance throughout the building and one set seemed to be running with moths. We did leave a list of things on the dining table that we found e.g. no cereal bowls for breakfast (we ate out of kitchen bowls), the bottom tray of the dishwasher was broken and would not slide out - parts broken parts left in the fruit bowl, the ensuite toilet seat was broken on arrival, the iron did not work (no fuse), no toaster, no welcome pack with instructions and safety notes and n...more
This cottage was ideal for the three of us, easy walk into Yarmouth and the common and pier area. Bus station close by for island trips. Perfectly comfortable with plenty of kitchen equipment. Only downside is the parking as you have to purchase a visitor pass but this does allow you to park all over the island for the length of your stay. Previous cottages we have stayed at have provided parking permits.
Excellent location. Could we suggest the owners put up a blind to cover the large window in the downstairs shower room. The house could do with a little TLC and a good clean. The kitchen was really well equipped. The mattresses and pillows need replacing and we were disappointed to find after booking that towels and bedding were not provided. This is not to say that, despite the above, that we did not enjoy spending time in the house.
Stunning location. We did enjoy our stay but way overpriced, tired and dated, needs a thorough clean
Enjoyed our stay at Verbena, fab cottage. Fab views all around - not many people can look out of their bathroom window and see cows strolling past!! On arrival found the cottage to be clean and fresh bedding / towels were provided. Our only critisism would be that we found the shower temperature rather tempremental, however, i would recommend the cottage and would stay there again.
Enjoyed our stay on IOW. Wouldn't go back to same place again as would prefer to stay on beach front, but would recommend to friends if not worried about beach views. I would suggest a broom is left for sweeping floors or small vaccum (only negative thing). Service has been superb. Thank you.
A nice house in a good location.A short walk to the town centre and a good starting point for walks to st Catherine’s or shanklin
