This was our first self-catering visit to the Isle of Wight. We booked this flat online (together with a discounted ferry crossing) with Island Holiday Homes and were very impressed with their efficiency and the clarity and completeness of each communication we received. On arrival we found that the little flat we had booked exceeded our expectations. It was beautifully furnished and equipped, very close to the beach and all amenities yet in a very quiet location on a private road. No parking was provided on site but it was very easy to find free overnight parking nearby. We would wholehearted...more
We returned to Chine House Apartment after a 4 or 5 year gap and we have to say it did not disappoint. The extra little touches that the owners provide to welcome you are a real treat. The accommodation is an absolute delight to stay in with a really comfortable bed that you don't want to get out of. This place provides all the comforts of home in an ideal location that is both quiet and perfectly situated for all that the local area has to offer.
Had a great time at this wonderful cottage. Very close to everything but lovely and peaceful surroundings in the evening, especially loved the wood burner. Had everything we needed, and our dog Jess loved it too! Thank you for a great place to stay, would definitely go again.
The apartment on the first floor was spacious and had large windows with lovely panoramic views over the countryside. The furnishings and equipment were of a very good standard and the location enabled easy access to all parts of the island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The owners were very helpful
My family and I were delighted to have rented Water's Edge for our holiday this year. It was perfect for all of us - my husband and I plus my sister, Mum and Step Dad. We all had beautiful bedrooms and lovely clean and comfortable communal living areas. We could eat together in comfort and had the balconies to enjoy on the sunny evenings. Everything we could have needed in the kitchen was provided and the kitchen/ diner was a really good family space. We had hoped to enjoy watching some boats coming and going and that didn't happen but that was out of anyone's control!! The view from the windo...more
It was the best accommodation we have ever stayed in .Plenty of room and very good facilities. We will definitely be visiting again .
This is a lovely property, with off road parking, one street back from the sea front and a couple of minutes walk into town. The cottage has everything you need, for a family holiday, or just for a couple. Definitely one of the nicest places we have stayed in.
Perfect for our needs - a week of work on the boat and leisure . We enjoyed the views particularly .
Great location. very well equipped. comfortable.wi fi. TV parking outside. pleasant neighbours. friendly locals. short walk to beach and good beach cafe. Very enjoyable stay
The house was clean. It had toys, and entertainment items which was great for the kids. The kitchen was very well equipped. The hosts left us a lovely postcard and bottle of wine to welcome us which was very thoughtful. Ideal location for the beach and exploring. Could not fault it.
Excellent location, house and staff knowledge and support. We had 4 adults and 2 children, everything we needed was in the house and the location was lovely. The Isle of Wight has everything a family of all ages need.
Comfortable and pleasant stay. Nice view over the sea. Badgers visited every night. 15 minute walk into Shanklin, 20 minutes back as uphill.
What a wonderful holiday in this little cottage once again. A warm welcome awaits with cream tea goodies to eat. We love Fernwood like a second home. Looking forward to another visit, we have stayed over a decade or more.
This is our second time at The Hayloft - we chose to return here as we love to explore and this is an excellent base for seeing the whole of the island. Also, the accommodation is really lovely - homely, comfortable, spacious and very well equipped. We enjoy staying in the countryside along with all the island has to offer within easy reach. The beds are very comfortable, both in the master bedroom and the twin room which the kids stayed in. We had another excellent holiday on the Isle of Wight, made great by the high standard of the accommodation. We would highly recommend staying here.
The location of this property is excellent, just a short walk to the beach and shops. The property had everything that we needed and the cleanliness of the house showed the pride that the owner has when renting to visitors. If there was a downside it was that we were two couples with two cars and there is only parking for one car and on street parking can be difficult to find close by.
Central to everything on the island and on the edge of the grounds of Arreton Barns, Lavender Cottage has everything you could possibly need, The large garden was perfect as we took our spaniel. There are stunning walks right on the doorstep. It was great for us with the dog as The Dairymans Daughter pub is dog friendly (as is almost anywhere on the island). The cottage can sleep five which would be fine in good weather when you are out and about most of the day but a little tight if you plan on spending a lot of time inside (but why would you with so much to do on your doorstep?). We love...more
Ideally suited for exploring the whole of the island, the apartment had lovely views and was very well equipped for all our needs. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The Isle of White itself was great, so much to visit and do - we had a lovely time.
Stayed for a week in July 2018 and the apartment was virtually brand new. Very well equipped and the views across the Solent are just fantastic - bring some binoculars. Good to have off road parking available. I would definitely recommend. Please note that this is a one bedroom, max 2 people apartment as the listing description was not clear on that.
This is our second visit to Yew Tree Apartment One this year and it was just as fantastic as the first. The apartment was warm, excellently furnished and contained everything that we needed. As always, Shirley and Ian (the on-site owners) were friendly and helpful. We’re looking forward to next year’s visit.
This is one of the best quality self catering establishment I have experienced. A superb bungalow, with great sea views, attractive garden and so well equipped. However, it was disappointing that the heating was not controllable and necessitated not being warm for the first part of the holiday. In addition the TV remote did not work. These points were remedied swiftly after I called in the office on the Monday. Whilst not on your control I would also state the cost of the ferry was totally disproportionate to the time on board. In addition some of the IoW roads were rubbish.
The pictures of The Squeak really do not do it justice. Very roomy and light and the location is excellent, right on the major footpaths in the area. Friendly and helpful owners too. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others
We had an excellent comfortable, peaceful time with all mod cons, in an ideal location, would not hesitate to recommend.
First impressions are everything and yew tree does not disappoint.spacious ,immaculately presented in a good location with hosts Ian and Shirley likeable and friendly with a great attention for detail. I would have no qualms about recommending this property and will be staying again at some point. Really well done Ian and Shirley
Lovely cottage very spacious plenty of room so not under each others feet. Very pleasant relaxing garden, easy access to the island. Anne was a very friendly, warm host who made our welcome and stay very pleasant.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the Isle of Wight and 2 farm cottages was a good base for our adventures. Whitwell has a pub (very large with good food) and a garage selling fuel, that’s it! The post office has sadly closed which means there was no shop to walk to in the mornings. Apart from this we found getting to where we were visiting from Whitwell was very easy. The cottage itself was functional with few luxuries but everything worked as it should. You do need to reverse into the drive as it is difficult to see coming out of the drive. The cottage would suit dog walkers, with the har...more
Beautifully furnished and well equipped house. We are a large family of 9 and the house was a perfect base for us. Close to shops and the sea. Only downside was that there is no parking space so we parked in the roads nearby. Would recommend and will likely be booking again.
A wonderful surprise,a light and airy modern apartment with excellent sea views. Comfortable living for upto 4 people, just a short stroll from the beach, town and pub. Decorated to a high standard, lots of space for everyone. Would be first choice for a return visit.
This is an ideal cottage for exploring the island. The furthest you have to travel is about 20mile to the Needles. But everything is within 20mins drive. The cottage is well kept and very clean. It can be difficult to find as the number for the property has faded. Within 15mins walk of the centre with 2 lovely pubs and also the Model Village which is well worth the visit.
Quiet location. Lovely views over Sandown Bay which can be seen from kitchen window and balcony. Warm well equipped apartment. Comfortable beds. Great place for walkers, the coastal path is just in front of apartment building. Easy reach of Shanklin beach although there are quite a few steps leading down. We stayed from 23rd March to 30th March 2019 and had lovely weather all week, sunshine everyday. We really enjoyed out stay.
Annexe is definitely the bonus part, the whole house is spacious and cosy, the facilities are great! Xbox, blue ray player, board game, sound bar and subwoofer, etc... The table with wheels, wooden chairs, the landlord has great taste! We didn’t went out because we enjoyed every single minute there!
Spent a lovely week in the Sanctuary but :.. 1. Could do with more crockery at times as we were always loading up the dishwasher ! 2. Needs a dressing table and mirror as there is nowhere in the bedrooms to ' do my hair' ! 3. Too light in the bedrooms in the mornings with no curtains , only thin blinds !
A good base for a multi-generational break - central location enabled visits to different parts of the island and on site segway and archery proved a great hit.
Stayed in June, weather was brilliant. Stayed in September, weather not so good but loads of lovely Red Squirrels. Doesn't matter on weather, cottage, garden and view was brilliant. Loved it ai much we are going back next year.
Cottage and garden are lovely. Shame the lane outside the property is single track which makes getting in and out of the drive very tricky.
This is the second year that my daughter, son-in-law and myself have stayed at Beechwood Cottage. We found it an absolutely delightful place to stay the first time and could not wait to return to return this year and no doubt we shall pay it another visit next year. The decor is beautiful and every thing has been done to make sure your visit is a pleasure. Every thing you require to make your stay comfortable is provided including a welcome hamper. The grounds are lovely, the squirrels a bonus and the owners a pleasure to meet.
Property was recently refurbished and it showed. Really well equipped cottage with pretty much everything you'd need. Located between the sea and the downs behind, there are plenty of good walks. It is a 10 minute walk to the beach but it's a steep climb back if you've mobility issues. Ventnor is lovely with nice shops pubs and eateries. Also worth a walk to Steep hill Cove for crab pasties.
A pleasant modern well-equipped flat was let down by poor cleaning - there was visible dust and cobwebs in numerous locations.
Our second stay in this property and it did not disappoint at all. The spacious interior is dominated by the beautiful oak frame which extends into every room. The kitchen is very well appointed and the bi-fold doors to the rear of the comfortable lounge/diner offer an uninterrupted view of the sea. The beach is literally at the end of the garden and accessible through the back gate. The rear garden is also ideal for sitting and watching the world go by. We found the beds comfortable and the choice of an en-suite bath or shower a bonus. The two larger bedrooms also offer wonderful views a...more
We decided on a last minute trip to IOW and found Casa Nostra on the website. We found everything lovely and clean and wished we could have stayed longer. Even though the bungalow is on the corner of crossroads we we surprised how quiet the traffic was.
Lovely cottage to stay in. Really well equipped with lots of added extras. Comfy beds and warm and cosy. Good value and excellent location. Was a little disappointed that the large oven didn't work (the small thin oven did, but no good for cooking a large pizza!) also was really very dusty - lots of ornaments which probably doesn't help! We would return though!
3 of us spent the week completing the island coastal path. We used the bus on our outward and return journeys. The location was ideal and weather superb - we had a great time.We would thoroughly recommend the cottage however the following would help 1 It should be mademuch clearer that there is no bed linen or Wi Fi. 2 A total lack of instructions on all appliances, heating, refuse etc We would have paid a little more and had these. However a great place to stay.
Lovely family accommodation, would recommend, our dog felt quite at home! No issues with parking, quiet road
A beautiful barn conversation in a picturesque location. A short walk from the quaint village of Godshill and ideally situated for exploring the rest of the island. Warm and friendly owners who are very welcoming. Great for the family.
We enjoyed the view and the promenade walks from our door. We liked the underfloor heat in the bathroom and the 5ft bed.
Television was a little small kept losing free signal ( free sat could be the answer ) otherwise spot on .
Excellent apartment, in the centre of action on the Solent. Convenient to tour around the island. Relaxing, home from home, as it was our 6th visit to this address.
We had a great holiday at Hope Cottage for the second year running. Very comfortable. Enclosed garden with trampoline and swings much appreciated. Kitchen diner very good for the family (3 generations). Location excellent.
We were the first to stay here in 2019 after a flood in previous years. The property was in very good condition and very well equipped. We liked the fact all the bedrooms had en suites and also had another separate toilet in the hallway. The location was idyllic with views over rolling hills and very quite. There are shops and pubs nearby and Newport was only a few miles away. We would recommend this property for location and comfort.
This is a super property for a larger group to stay in. Very good facilities. Clean and comfortable. Fantastic garden for children to play. A delightful hamper of fruit and easter goodies awaited us. Milk, eggs, butter, bacon etc was also provided. So many thanks for those. Very much appreciated. A great location for all activities in the area. The Yarbridge pub nearby is a must. Excellent food at reasonable prices, but you may have to book as it is extremely popular.
great little house just off the quayside in newport easy walking distance to town centre.has all the necessities for a self catering holiday. 1 double bedroom and 1 twin. stairs are quite narrow and tight but okay when you get used to them. would recommend for holiday. main road is tricky to get onto at busy times have to rely on good nature of other motorists.
Seagulls is a lovely location but there are one or two things that need attention. The interior is fine although a few coat hooks on the back of doors, especially in the small bedroom that has only a chest of drawers in it, would not go amiss. The exterior is looking a bit tired, weeds between the patio slabs and plant pots with dead plants in look bad and the patio furniture needs a sprucing up. Glad the security box for the key has been relocated. Still get issues with things on arrival, no-one had attended the place between booking out on the 6th and returning with new guests later that da...more
This house is in a great location for Bembridge Harbour with brilliant beaches just a stones throw away. It is also a great location for Bembridge Village and all the wonderful shops and facilities. The garage was a great asset, very well equipped with toys, chairs etc - it was also a secure storage area for our bikes. The bedrooms were a great size and there was certainly plenty of room to sleep 9 people. However, the linen had obviously not been dried properly in the past and had a musty unpleasant smell to it. We were there for two weeks and there was a midweek linen change although we...more
Perfect position for anyone with a dog as there is a lane immediately outside which leads to Brading down and the village pub is very dog friendly. The welcome pack was very generous and the cottage was very well equipped (although a hair drier would have been appreciated). Probably not suitable for anyone with mobility problems as the stairs are steep and the toilet/bathroom is downstairs. However apart from that we were well impressed.
Really enjoyed our stay at Russets. Perfect location. Unbelievably quiet. Clean and tidy. Decor a little dated but cosy and comfortable with everything we needed.
The cottage is very comfortable and very clean. The sea views and decking are beautiful. The only issue is parking at the front as no designated space and it is down to luck if a space is available. That being said we had the best family weekend. Location is fabulous for local attractions and beaches. The owner is a wonderfully kind lady. Will definitely be returning.
Rofford Lodge has everything we wanted for our weeks break in Yarmouth. The location was perfect, the accommodation was also superb. We would like to thank-you for a wonderful holiday. The owners of Rofford Lodge are very thoughtful and go the extra mile. Kind regards Susan and Peter.
Lovely large house we were 6 adults 4children 3 generations and 2 dogs who loved the large garden .Plenty of room in house for everyone to have space if wanted to chill .Bedrooms large and beds very comfy also loads of spare bedding if needed .Fantastic equipped kitchen.Barbeque and plenty of seating outside where we satt in evening as weather was kind to us .Very central for getting around island .The only downside to this property and this is from my 4 granddaughters 9-15trs was is the lovel big garden is crying out for a hot tub ! Hope to return Lynne Shaw
Supplies left much appreciated. Good accommodation to Island Holliday Homes usual high standard. Excellent location - rare opportunity to do self catering in central Ryde.
The house was fantastic to stay in for 2 adults and 2 children. We had plenty of space, the kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms were a decent size and the shower in the downstairs shower room is fantastic. There is a few parking spaces in front of the property but 1 of them is a.disabled space and the others are used by the other occupiers. However the car park is only a minutes walk from the house down the hill. We all loved our time over the week in the house. We would happily come back and would recommend for any families or couples wanting to stop in a beautiful location on the Isle o...more
We had no complaints about the accommodation but the facilities on what seemed to be a full Park were pretty much useless. We walked up to the centre at 6.05pm for dinner for 6 people only to be told we close at 6pm as we only have 1 member of staff! Bar was closed at 6pm, so every night we had to leave the site to eat out - come on Gurnard Pines get your act together!
Lovely bungalow in a convenient location in Ventnor, within walking distance of the town centre. Well thought out accommodation. We especially liked the lounge, which has a whole glazed wall and French doors opening out onto the patio. The garden is completely enclosed and was great for our dog, who loved to sunbathe on the patio! Surrounding trees mean that the garden is a real sun-trap and is sheltered from the worst of the winds. Great kitchen. Comfortable beds. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
This is a beautiful house in a perfect location. We were very comfortable and very happy with the accommodation. We would stay there again and recommend to others.
We really enjoyed our stay here for a week. The cottage is comfortable, excellently located in the heart of Yarmouth with fabulous landscapes and activities all around. We prefer to stick close to nature and walk [fantastic surroundings] but there is far more to do here than anyone can possibly achieve in a week, from morning coffee and/or breakfast at Off the Rails, located less than 5 minutes away alongside the beautiful wetlands, to Tennyson Down and Freshwater Bay just down the road. We were comfortable and loved being in the heart of the town. All in all an excellent venue and location
Fantastic week, weather was perfect. Flat was clean and tidy and welcome bits were a lovely surprise. Comfy sofa and beds. Great location, an easy walk to shops and beach but because of that the car parking space is a couple of minutes walk away but it wasn’t a problem for us. Only negatives were the chest of drawers in one of the bedrooms is a bit rickety and if 6 people are staying there are only 4 dining chairs. Overall a great place.
Overall we felt one shower wasn’t adequate enough as we had 3 teenagers plus myself & my husband. He felt the wet room needed an inner screen to stop the water flooding out into other areas. We were disappointed that being on the periphery of the property it was a long way to reach the swimming pool & games room so felt that was misleading in the advertising, it would have meant taking the children by car & picking them up again so subsequently we didn’t use this facility. We had a lovely stay at Treetops with an added bonus of wonderful weather & shopping facilities just around the corner.
Lovely house in ideal location, an area we know well. Dissapointed that when we arrived at the alloted time of occupation, the property had not been cleaned at all, Bed linen with hair on them in all the beds and dirty towels on the floor of the shower. After a phone call to the holiday operators, the cleaners arrived 45 mins later. Apart from the issue of the cleaning, we had a wonderful week.
Fantastic flat - light and airy with spectacular panoramic views over the sea. Shanklin is a lovely venue - we cycled along the front with the kids to Sandown. Beaches are lovely and clean, lots of cafes/restaurants to eat in. A real family feel. The approach to the flat is steep but that didn't bother us as we are active and like the exercise! Was also lovely to have a garden for the kids to play in and a patio to sit out and have a morning cuppa or lunch, again with the amazing views.
The condition of the Living Room Curtain Linings made us think twice about sitting outside. We Love IOW. Thank you
Perfect location and really central for parking. With the bus stop at the end of the road (£15 for a 48 hour unlimited bus ticket) we were able to head off to Newport connecting us to anywhere on the island. Lucky enough to have head about the Real Ale Festival and steam railway in advance so got to make the most of that by having no driving to do! Admirals Cottage is really well equipped so cooking a decent breakfast wasn’t an issue. Comfortable chairs in the kitchen meant we stayed up late chatting, playing cards and trying to guess the intro on the random radio channel we found. It wa...more
Morse Cottage is in a lovey location with plenty of room but the cottage we found to be very tired. All the curtains require maintenance throughout the building and one set seemed to be running with moths. We did leave a list of things on the dining table that we found e.g. no cereal bowls for breakfast (we ate out of kitchen bowls), the bottom tray of the dishwasher was broken and would not slide out - parts broken parts left in the fruit bowl, the ensuite toilet seat was broken on arrival, the iron did not work (no fuse), no toaster, no welcome pack with instructions and safety notes and n...more
Excellent location. Could we suggest the owners put up a blind to cover the large window in the downstairs shower room. The house could do with a little TLC and a good clean. The kitchen was really well equipped. The mattresses and pillows need replacing and we were disappointed to find after booking that towels and bedding were not provided. This is not to say that, despite the above, that we did not enjoy spending time in the house.
Stunning location. We did enjoy our stay but way overpriced, tired and dated, needs a thorough clean
The flat is in an excellent location but unfortunately the cleanliness was extremely poor and not up to standard
Enjoyed our stay on IOW. Wouldn't go back to same place again as would prefer to stay on beach front, but would recommend to friends if not worried about beach views. I would suggest a broom is left for sweeping floors or small vaccum (only negative thing). Service has been superb. Thank you.
A nice house in a good location.A short walk to the town centre and a good starting point for walks to st Catherine’s or shanklin
We had a family weekend- 12 of us. The house is architecturally beautiful, fantastic location and very big. However the house is in need of a total renovation , the water supply and pressure is totally inadequate, the soft furnishings are dirty, dusty and uncomfortable. We also discovered that we had overpaid by booking with the wrong agent! Booking direct with island holidays is much more reasonable!!
