Great location in st Helens village, next to the shop/post office/coffee shop.Easy access to local beach or travel to Ryde ,Sandown no problem. The cottage is very comfortable, all mod cons that you need, and easily sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms.Comfy beds and plenty of fresh clean towels. The locals are very friendly and helpful, good local pub and restaurants.Ive been coming to the island for the last 20 years and this is one of the best accommodation we have stayed in. I would recommend Clara cottage to anyone wanting comfortable accommodation with off street parking and a great touring base
This is the second time we have stayed at Harbour View and it was as enjoyable as the first, clean, comfortable and great location, amazing ever changing view from this harbour side location. We have already booked for our third stay.
For our visit we really wanted a comfortable base for our adventures, and the Jan Dee Cottage delivered on this in spades. Though the weather was quite mixed for our stay, the four of us loved staying here, with plenty of room for board games round the table, great spaces for the kids to do their own thing at times, lovely social kitchen, nice outside space, balcony, super comfortable beds, hot showers..... clearly lots of thought and consideration has gone into making this a comfortable home and we were sad to say goodbye to it at the end of the holiday. Just to add, Island Holiday Homes ...more
We had a fantastic holiday at one Tennyson apartment. Lovely, modern, clean apartment with extras we didn't expect like an Alexa. We had an amazing view of a full moon over the castle. It was a good central island location and easy to drive anywhere on the island from there, with nowhere further than 20 minutes.
We stayed at the property last year and were not disappointed with our return this year. Upon arrival, the property was spotless and we had no concerns about the Covid situation. Yasmin , the owner again greeted us with a tray of freshly baked cakes. The property provides an excellent central base for visiting everywhere on the island. There numerous good restaurants within very easy reach. I would thoroughly recommend this property and would certainly stay there again if ever we revisit the Island.
Had a great time at this wonderful cottage. Very close to everything but lovely and peaceful surroundings in the evening, especially loved the wood burner. Had everything we needed, and our dog Jess loved it too! Thank you for a great place to stay, would definitely go again.
The Hideaway has everything you need for a great holiday. Excellent accommodation with everything you need. Excellent location. Easy access to the whole Island. Just 15 minute walk to the town/bus station, but right out on the edge of the countryside. Excellent views. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Southford farm has been recently renovated making it fresh and comfortable for a family holiday. The kitchen is fully equipped, the rooms are all great sizes, the house has a beautiful garden and the owners are onsite for any tips or assistance. We had a great stay.
A fantastic home away from home - Yachtsman's Tower is a truly wonderful property in an idyllic and peaceful location. Coffee on the balcony with views over the water will be a fine memory to treasure this year.
We had a wonderful 2 weeks staying at Bluebells. The neighbours were all exceptionally friendly and helpful and the location was brilliant for visiting all parts of the island. We hope to return in a few years time and would definitely have Bluebells at the top of our list for places to stay. The house was just perfect for us and was very well equipped. A real home from home.
Little Grosvenor is the most welcoming self-catering property we have stayed in. From the moment we were greeted by the owner Claire we knew that it would be an enjoyable two-week break. The property was spotless and she explained everything had been cleaned with an anti-bacterial product which put our minds at rest considering the current circumstances. The kitchen was equipped with everything we could possibly want and everywhere was very comfortable. The position was excellent with just a short walk into the town and down to the front. The decking area at the rear of the property was l...more
Great for a couple or family with small children. Friendly host, clean comfy accommodation and great location.
Comfortable, well equipped. Walking distance to beach, harbour, restaurants and shop. Good Private garden for outdoor Eating and play. Warm and welcoming.
The apartment is well equipped, and the location is close to the "old Shanklin ", well within walking distance, and about 15 - 20 minutes down to the beach
Comfortable, clean, well thought out decor, dog friendly, great situation, amazing property well done
Great house, with kind owners, had been deep Cleaned due to Covid, I would highly recommend Bellevue.
Stayed for a week in this cosy cottage. The owners had thought of everything in regards to equipment and home comforts. Including a lovely cream tea on arrival. The cottage was tastefully and comfortably furnished. As we were out of season the area was very quiet but well lit at night although a torch is handy to go up the pathway at night. Parking on the street was not an issue but watch out for the hawthorn tree which was shedding berries and I came out one morning to find my car covered. Easy downhill access to the seafront at Bonchurch but a bit of a climb back up! Short walk into Ventnor...more
It was wonderful to get away during this very strange year! Holiday apartment was really lovely, very clean and comfortable with everything you need. A short walk to the old village and pubs and to the beach. The only change I would make would be to swap the washing machine to a washer/dryer other than that everything was perfect!
The house was clean. It had toys, and entertainment items which was great for the kids. The kitchen was very well equipped. The hosts left us a lovely postcard and bottle of wine to welcome us which was very thoughtful. Ideal location for the beach and exploring. Could not fault it.
When we arrived the house was spotlessly clean. The house is very comfortable and spacious. The view from the balcony is stunning. The house is a great base for a stay in Ventnor and for the Island generally.
A very good property set in a wonderful location. Excellent in the presentation of all the facilities and the highest standards of cleanliness. We would love to return for another visit.
We had a great time in Ventnor at the Overlook. The view is amazing and it was a lovely property all round.
we could not fault this holiday appartment in any way .The location and grounds it is set in are lovely and only a short drive to the main town of Ryde. The owners Shirly and Ian. who live on site could not be more helpfull.
Home from home. Everything we needed. Comfortable and clean. Good location, we arrived in the dark and hadn't realised it was a long, narrow gravel driveway to the farm with no lights, we almost went back thinking we had taken a wrong turn. Would have been useful to know.
We loved it there, view outstanding, the weather was so hot we could of done with 3 fans for the bedroom’s
Lovely cottage in a great location. Handy for town centre but set back from main road and quiet. Convenient for supermarkets and bus station
We could not have asked for a better fortnight’s holiday. The location and superb weather helped, but I’m struggling to think of anything different that I would have wanted in the Hayloft. There isn’t a washing machine in the house, but there is a communal washing machine a few yards from the front door, and we didn’t go on holiday to do washing. We’ll most definitely be going back.
this is a lovely cottage ideally placed for easy access to the whole island. the local pub is great for food and just down the road you have the hare and hounds one way and the fighting cocks the other
We were the first to be residing in the new lodge. Though we did not have the wifi and decking when we were staying, the landlord was in the process when were vacating. It has been very comfortable and excellent stay with fully furnished.
The apartment had everything we needed and the views from the decking were wonderful. The gardens were lovely and we saw plenty of wildlife.
We stayed at cosie cottage in august and I must say it was a lovely week .The cottage was spotless and very cosy a home from home .Its location was fabulous right beside all the shops and the beach is just a short walk away. We had everything we needed in the cottage there was even milk supplied for our arrival thanks to the owners. The only down side was trying to find a spot to park my car sometimes having to walk quiet a bit to get to the car and the internet was not very good only getting it sometimes . overall it was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay Thanks to the owners and I would ...more
Fabulous cottage with wonderful garden and sun room. Short walk to a well stocked village shop and the beach. Kitchen had everything we needed and comfortable beds. A wonderful holiday
We recently stayed at this delightful cottage, situated in an ideal location in Ryde near the beautiful sandy beach. It was our first time in the Isle of Wight and we enjoyed exploring the island, so found the cottage perfect for that. It was very comfortable, spacious and well equipped, the bed was really comfortable which was a must after daily long coastal walks! The Cottage was tastefully decorated throughout having a fresh and homely feel. We will definitely return to the island and would not hesitate to return to “The Cottage”.
We had a fantastic stay here. Lovely place. Great location. Clean and comfortable with a great place to walk just a minute down the road. Perfect if you have a dog. Owners were lovely. Would definitely stay again.
This cottage with it's unbelievable view, at the waters edge. Spend evenings enjoying one of the two balconys. With a glass of wine and a good book, or simply watch the sailing. Anchor cottage has a well equipped kitchen. Nice to have both Dish washer as well as a washing machine. Beds are sooo comforortable. RECOMEND this holiday home.
The apartment had lots of space especially in the bedroom. The TV had been upgraded as it was much larger than the one shown in the photographs. The heated towel rail in the shower room was a luxury. There was also a communal washing machine, the spin cycle came in very handy. Though access to a collapsible clothes airer would have been useful if we had had rain. The house is in a very good location, quiet at night and lovely views. I'd recommend bringing some binoculars to watch the deer and other wild life. You can walk into Newport in minutes for shopping and buses or drive to the main roa...more
In summary, Beechwood is well situated in Ryde, just on the edge so you get a very peaceful experience. The cottage and grounds are lovely, everything you need is included in this modern and well kept property. It was perfect for five of us with two dogs, with a big enclosed garden and some great short walks from the property to stretch the dogs (and our) legs.
We loved our stay at Sea Vista! The property is in excellent condition, and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. An incredible amount of work has been done to get it looking the way it does, as can be seen by the before and after pictures in the folder. The owners have done a really lovely job, and the house had everything we could have wished for in terms of amenities, utensils, gadgets etc. etc. The kids (and grown ups alike) particularly loved the summer house with pool table, darts board and bluetooth speaker - we spent many an evening in there after using having BBQ's on the terrace over...more
We enjoyed our stay at Solent View, the location is excellent, so quiet and a great base for many of the attractions. The bungalow is spacious, clean & very comfortable, but be careful of the steps down to the bedrooms and in the hall which are not ideal for those with limited mobility - or those little trips in the night in the dark! The garden & decking are lovely, great if you take a dog (which we didn’t) and the neighbours are friendly. There is a small shop very close which was handy. All in all a great time which went too quick and definitely a property I would book again.
We spent a lovely week at Long Ledge. The house was very well presented and clean. Well equipped kitchen. Ideal location. Plenty of parking. Will definitely return in the future.
We had a wonderful week staying at Brunswick Terrace. Really clean and had everything we needed. The only things I would change are: - A lock on downstairs toilet door - A mat for the bathroom floor. We will be back next year.
The beautiful house where you can see the sea from every room. our week there was wonderful, sat outside for dinner or a short walk into town and the seaside we enjoyed every day. Clean, tidy, spacious and a great place to relax for the week with friendly neighbours and a handy parking space on the doorstep. Children and family friendly a fantastic place, will definitely visit again
We chose the house because of its proximity to Shanklin front as we had two young children in the party. The house was spacious and well stocked with all the essentials, very comfortable and clean. Shops were within easy walking distance and although there was no parking outside the property, we found parking on the surrounding roads. Would happily stay here again.
Finally another excellent stay after the misery of weeks of lockdowns and the inactions of this inept and incompetent so-called government
A really lovely cottage, newly decorated and refurbished. Great location being easy walking distances to corner shop, pub and the beach. All was very clean with a checklist advising us of what had been sanitised (everything!) prior to our arrival which was reassuring. Parking available for one car (its a bit tight as the lane is quite narrow). We had a great stay and can't wait to go back!
Excellent hosts, property was beautiful, ideal location for accessing the island. 20 mins car journey to all areas. Godshill is a lovely village, 10 min walk from the property, excellent value for money, very friendly shop keepers. Model Village is worth a visit and the Griffin pub, excellent food and service or if you'd rather than afternoon tea is also available. Would definitely recommend.
We had a really wonderful week at Beach Side. The house and location cannot be beaten. Waking up to the great view every morning was fantastic. The house had everything we needed, although some bits were missing in the current Covid environment, it wasn't a big deal. Rooms all a good size, beds comfortable, nice outdoor seating and loungers. Nice modern kitchen and great location on beach / near Bembridge. It was everything we wanted and needed. We will definitely come back! Great service from Island Holiday Homes too ... always friendly and great with questions and changes.
Just the most wonderful break after lockdown with our large family. With ages ranging from 15 months to 66 years it could have been difficult but hope cottage provided a lovely space to enjoy ourselves. The kitchen is well equipped for 10 people. Plenty of space for everyone to escape. Extremely clean, quiet and beautifully decorated we loved everything about it and will return next year for our third trip !
Really nice place would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a quiet place to stay on the Isle of Wight.
My family and i had an amazing time at the old barn. The barn was clean and tidy when arrived. And was met by the owner very welcoming. Great location in the middle so places were easy to get to. Great little cycle and footpaths for the children. Loved the entire time we were there. Only criticism I have which is minor, is the outdoor lighting was poor to have BBQs and host outside. Was only provided with one stair gate and was a little worried with the dogs getting the carpet dirty during our stay. Thank you to the owners. My family truly had a wonderful time and will definitely be r...more
A great place to stay for exploring the isle of Wight. Everything we needed was in the accommodation, with very welcoming owners.
My first visit to the Isle of Wight and this cottage was in the perfect location to see everything. I was really struck with the beauty of the island. Wonderful walks right on the doorstep The cottage was really well equipped and relaxing I am already looking at rebooking for next September.
We have just returned from a superb stay at Woodside cottage. We absolutely loved the property - the photos don't give the space you have justice. The property was immaculately clean (important at the moment) and well equipped and it is on a nice quiet country road with easy access to the centre of Godshill, but also Shanklin, Ventnor and everywhere else on the island. The agency and the owner could not have been more accommodating to our needs with small children. The beds are comfortable, the sofas are too. The garden has a wonderful treehouse, as well as a badminton set, a table tennis t...more
A comfortable, well furnished holiday home that was a relaxing and comfortable place to stay. Will definitely come back
This is an excellent apartment with an outstanding view from the large opening window. It has everything you will need for your stay. I have had to give two “ good” marks rather than excellent as two things were not up to scratch. First the cutlery was not really clean and second the mattress needs replacing, lumpy and stained. The mattress cover was odd as it made you sweat, strange. I guess with all that is going on things are difficult. This would NOT detract us from coming again.
The apartment is well located within walking distance of old Shanklin village and the shops in town. Rylestone gardens and Shanklin Chine are close by and well worth visiting. The walk through the landslip to Bonchurch and Ventnor is not hard and very rewarding. We returned by bus from Ventnor, every half hour, to the bus stop 100 metres from the apartment. The whole apartment is well furnished and comfortable. Good parking on site. The living area is great, really light and airy and direct access to the sunny verandah. The service from Island Holiday Homes was excellent, always helpful and p...more
Great views Relaxing stay Excellent bungalow Attractions nearby Terrific location HOLIDAY had by all
Booked the house for Cowes week (which was cancelled) and because we thought it looked ideal for our dog (which sadly died before we came). Nevertheless we had a great two weeks. The house is very comfortable, has everything we needed and is in a good position. The downstairs shower room is definitely a bonus addition to the property especially as the cold tap upstairs very rarely worked!
We had a lovely stay. The apartment is well equipped with everything you need, plenty of kitchen appliances and apparatus, including plenty of children's cutlery, plates, etc. Highchairs, boosters, travel cots, stairgate all available. A couple of things are a little tired, but on the whole a tidy apartment in a great location with a lovely view from the apartment of the beach.
We loved our stay. The upstairs area and two decks are the selling point and why we booked. It was probably better than our expectations as the outside isn’t overlooked (next door kept curtains closed), it was sheltered even on windy days unless we just got lucky and it gets a mix of shade and sun. The views are pretty spectacular and it was incredibly peaceful. No neighbour noise, seagulls, traffic etc. Hard to believe it was peak season. Had a couple of visiting cats that kept our kids happy. The interior is immaculate and felt like a much loved home rather than a holiday let. Comfortable an...more
With spacious rooms, comfortable beds, good hot water and good lighting Hill Cottage suited our needs very well. We used the car to get to the west end of the island to shorten the journey time otherwise used the excellent bus service from outside the door. The woodland opposite made attractive walking and we followed an interesting round route from our OS map because Covid19 restrictions prevent any guides being left in the house. We found our way around the kitchen in the end but it has to be said that if all the beds were taken there would be issues with things like crockery and glasses.
Lovely bungalow, really spacious with large bedrooms for my husband & I, my sister & husband. Nice layout with all big, well equipped kitchen, en-suite shower / WC, wifi, big TV & plenty of sockets. Excellent residential location / setting, quiet but close to beach and local shops restaurants and bus stops. Hills might be a struggle for those older than us seventy year olds. Off road parking, so we left the car and travelled the isand on the excellent bus services to avoid congesting the narrow island roads and the hassle of finding parking. Really enjoyed our stay.
A nice cottage with a very attractive garden, perfect for enjoying a leisurely breakfast and evening meal - weather permitting! On our first two days the weather did permit, after that it was too cold and wet .. such a pity, but it was the end of Sept so any good weather was a bonus. A spacious sun lounge which got lovely and warm when we had the sun but, sadly was too cold to sit in on the cold eveings. however that wasn't a problem as there was easy to control heating in the rest of the cottage- which included an alternative sitting room. Given the restrictions caused by Covid the hous...more
Lovely vacation home. Very clean and wonderful location. I recommend this to anyone! I came back feeling very chilled out.
Stayed at this location a number of times now, looking forward to next year. Used to using a shower tray these days and found it a bit awkward getting in and out of the bath without a grab rail.
Very good value for money stay in a lovely home with lots of space. The house is a little dated in areas but the comfort and space make up for that. It was a little dusty in places but the main areas kitchen bathroom were clean. Downstairs toilet as well. Lots of parking good as we have a large van as well as a car. The team booking us in were great. Lots of email updates prior to travel with directions and times etc. Isle of Wight is beautiful with lots to do. We will be back
The house that we stayed in was in good condition. When we first arrived the house and rooms were all cleaned and wiped down. There was plenty of space in the bedrooms to store all of your clothes with the drawers and wardrobes, and plenty of hangers to go with them. There was plenty of pots and pans to use in the kitchen to feed 7 people, along with a big fridge freezer to store enough food as well. Dishwasher and washing machine as well, only tiny downside was that if you did any washing, there was only 1 clothes horse to dry your clothes, there was no washing line. The dining room / l...more
Great cottage in an excellent location close to Newport harbour and town with its quaint shops. Try the Bargeman pub and Burrs restaurant for delicious food. There’s even a Roman villa to visit within walking distance. All in all a great holiday.
Due to the Covid-19 situation we were looking for somewhere to have a family holiday of 6+adults and one infant after our french trip was cancelled twice! Having not been to the Isle of Wight for over 25 years fond memories spurred us to book here. So the hunt was on for a house that would give us the space for relaxation and comfort to enjoy a break after a long and difficult lockdown/ COVID-19 restricted year. The Downedge is a lovely house full of character and charm (although in need of some tlc) and with plenty of space for all to enjoy. Great family spaces to accommodate all, but with en...more
This was our 2nd stay at this property and we felt really at home lovely clean fresh bedding and towels lots of little extras that made for easy living a real home from home and very central for visiting the island
We have just returned from a lovely few days at Seagulls. It is a very comfortable and well equipped family house. The location is great for the beach and visiting the rest of the Island. The only downside is the outside area could do with a bit of TLC.
Baltija is situated in a lovely part of the island, ideal for walking, bird watching and just relaxing in this beautiful quiet area.
Yes we had a nice time but along day as we could not get in until 5 and having to leave at nine, I phone at 3.30 as I was told we my get in before the lady said she will phone me back but she did not not very good
Calm peaceful haven after a busy day. Great location halfway up the hill - so good for going up or down! Well equipped with everything one needs (including a cafetiere - WIN!) If you like to spend your holiday preparing gourmet meals the lack of work surface in the kitchen might be a problem - but for basic food prep it was fine. Plenty of shelves for stowing holiday bits and pieces out of the way. Lean-to at the side is perfect for storing buggies or folded wheelchair (as we did). Small courtyard at the back is calm and peaceful and not overlooked - though no views due to high fences. Be...more
Excellent for exploring IOW. Dip in road over ford not good for car suspension. More than one bath towel between us would be good. Loved seeing wildlife in the garden including a red squirrel.
We booked this cottage for the second time after missing out last year due to it's popularity. The cottage is in an ideal location for the local shops and a number of public houses. Clean and comfortable with a good sized garden for our dog. Garden not at it's best like previously but due to the pandemic it is understandable. Good off street paring for our large estate car was great but you should always reverse in rather than drive in as you do get cars coming down the main street into Yarmouth. All facilities in good working order and we found no problems with anything in the house. We had a...more
We have stayed there many times and absolutely love it! The apartment is in an excellent location close to Sandown Pier. It is always incredibly clean and the welcome pack is such a lovely touch. We can’t wait to stay there again!
The location is what drew us back to this unique holiday venue. We are able to take 2 dogs (3 on our first visit) and you literally step out of your accommodation on to open land leading to the beautIful coastal path for morning walks. The nearby village has everything you need, great pub recently refurbished and around the clock, well stocked small supermarket. The Old Signal House is ideal for large families or groups of friends and is a comfortable, warm holiday home where dogs and people can relax after days on the beach. We all love it there and will return for a third holiday in the ...more
We really liked the house, it was quite, clean and comfortable. We had everything that we needed, it was a really nice 3 nights that we spent there. Definitely we will come back (if it will be free :) ). There was just one minor thing. When we arrived and parked in front of the house the neighbour warned us that we mustn't park in front of the house as they are his parking spaces. Of course I didnt want to argue so I parked next to the house. It was strange that he has 3 spaces and there is just one for the house but one was enough for us anyway. Anyway we loved the house and we'll come back...more
Good size house, furniture in lounge. a bit dated. Carpets stained in lounge, dining room, and downstairs toilet. Biggest gripe no outside washing line, in an area of the country with little rain. Tumble drier in garage, not very good, took ages to dry clothes. The location next to beach. is excellent, lovely bathrooms. Kitchen good size, but lacking in tools such as tin opener, wooden spoons, otherwise electrical goods excellent. Garden small and obviously neglected. Overall there is room for improvement, as just felt it needed a bit of TLC in places
Sea Grove, the bungalow, is of a high standard. It is very spacious, very well presented, has a well-equipped kitchen, large utility room and the veranda and terrace are just lovely. Everywhere is on a hill in Ventnor but we much enjoyed the walk to town everyday where the shopping is good. We found the sea-front restaurants and the Spyglass Inn welcoming and accommodating for children. Despite the prevailing Covid situation the island felt safe and relaxed. Local residents are particularly friendly and helpful as were our contacts at the Island Holiday Homes. With a car we were well able t...more
We have stayed at Woodleigh twice now, I would highly recommend it. Very well equipped . Cots and other baby equipment available if needed. Books and games provided. Very comfortable and clean.
Great central location for exploring the island. Could do with a few more larger glasses and cereal bowls in the kitchen.
We were a family of 10, three generations. The house, garden, beds and linen/towels provided were all good. The kitchen is overstocked with the owners personal possessions, and we had to find and separate a set of plates and cutlery on the first day to use for the week. There are also too many personal possessions in some of the rooms leaving very little space for the guests. It feels like you are staying in someone else's home rather than a holiday home, we felt that the pricing should reflect this. Sadly the house does not live up to it's 4* rating (on cottages.com). The kitchen was not very...more
Unfortunately The Salt Pot had not been cleaned. We waited until 5pm as requested so the house could have a double clean. No one had been in since the previous people had left. We had to stay in a hotel for the first night which was not a good start to the holiday. The door to the balcony was very difficult to lock, the shower screen broke and the gas hob was difficult to obtain a steady flame. The instructions for the use of the dvd could be improved. The house is well situated within an easy walk of Ventnor.
Although the apartment needs a bit of TLC - including painting garden furniture and cleaning windows/ window sills, we had a lovely time overlooking the sea. We will be back again in the future.
This is a wonderfully located holiday base with fantastic views over sandown/Shanklin and the English Channel. A large sized well appointed cottage within easy driving of a number of beaches and tourist attractions (needles furthest away at approx an hour drive). However, we would have liked a lamp in the lounge area (we used one from a bedroom), the bathrooms are carpeted and we would have liked access to more pillows. Unable to get hot water from the taps but that may be due to something we did not do. A clothes horse would also have been useful. We would stay again.
Overall we were very happy with our stay. Bonito is a small bungalow in a elevated position with wonderful sea views from the panoramic lounge window. Ideal for two adults; the second bedroom is quite small and possibly only suitable for a child. Double bed very comfortable and room adequate but not large. All furnishings are simple but tasteful and the kitchen is well equipped. The shower room and toilet are separate but both rooms are tiny; reconfiguring this into one space would be beneficial. The lounge/diner is spacious, light and welcoming. The outside space is attractive and offers diff...more
Delightful cottage in a great location a few minutes walk from the shops, pub,. restaurants, pier and harbour in Yarmouth. Well equipped for four people, large kitchen, two modern bathrooms and relaxing lounge. Washing machine available. Parking nearby - you need to buy a visitors permit or pay daily.
We had a great time from start to finish, good facilities needs some updating and external painting, only negative was that there must be a wasps nest around the house as we were inundated with wasps especially in the car park area.
We had an enjoyable extended stay in Charnwood Cottage. The cottage itself has been well maintained, decorated and furnished thoughtfully in keeping with a village cottage. It was very comfortable and welcoming and has been fitted out with almost everything that one would need whilst on holiday. The neighbors were friendly and talkative re the area in general and indeed is an excellent base to start walking each day, either long or short. If we had one dislike it was the bathroom, which was downstairs and was the only toilet in the house. The bath and toilet were very close to each other leav...more
Rather small - needs wardrobe space........................................................................
Morse Cottage is in a lovey location with plenty of room but the cottage we found to be very tired. All the curtains require maintenance throughout the building and one set seemed to be running with moths. We did leave a list of things on the dining table that we found e.g. no cereal bowls for breakfast (we ate out of kitchen bowls), the bottom tray of the dishwasher was broken and would not slide out - parts broken parts left in the fruit bowl, the ensuite toilet seat was broken on arrival, the iron did not work (no fuse), no toaster, no welcome pack with instructions and safety notes and n...more
The house is in a great location & has a spacious living area for the 4 of us staying. The house needs lots of small repairs, and would benefit from a lick of paint in all rooms... a small amount of time & money would make this property perfect Some examples are : the skirting falling off in bathroom, mould on shower curtains, mould in washing machine, kitchen blind filthy, had the inconvenience of having to run upstairs to turn boiler on and off every time we wanted hot water for the sink.
As you see from the earlier questions we were very happy with the house and it’s location with an excellent garden for the dogs. If we have one criticism it’s the fact that towels were not provided - as one needs at least six - two for the toilets two for each bedroom one for the utility room and one for the kitchen, and if we’d used more than two bedrooms with a full house as it were another four would be required. However, that’s not to take away how very happy we were overall with our stay at Norlands.
Taps in the kitchen are very loose. Kitchen cupboards could do with a clean. We would go back again.
Cottage was a great size for our family holiday but completely let down by the cleanliness and lack of preparation for guests. Never before have we arrived at a cottage to find dirty dishes in the dishwasher, rubbish left in the kitchen and an oven that belched smoke due to spilt food on the oven floor. Lightbulbs also needed replacing, lounge carpet needed vacuuming as there were still crisps left on it and some towels were stained. Have to say that our complaints were addressed immediately but a bottle of wine and chocolates as an apology don’t quite do it. Real shame as the location and...more
Very good stay. The bungalow was excellent and have already rebooked for 2021. Would recommend to anyone.
Enjoyed our week in the cottage. Comfortable beds, good appliances e.g dishwasher and cooker. Lighting in lounge too bright bought some table lamps to use while there!
Small but very well equipped little bungalow and very clean. We loved the little food hamper and welcoming postcard, the only disappointment was there wasn’t a single side lamp so you either had to have the full lights on or be plunged into darkness. The site is on top of a cliff accessed by a small lane which was very badly potholed, unfortunately during our stay it was being improved so the lane was closed for two days between 8-5 which meant we had to leave before 8 and not return before 5 not what you really want on holiday and it would have been nice to have been told before we arrived...more
1st floor flat with stunning direct sea views Central location in lovely Ventnor Decor & furniture are random old & dirty The towels & sheets were clean but old The flat needed cleaning. Dust on all surfaces. Bathrooms & kitchen filthy Hair in all storage drawers Windows not opening or stuck open Situated on an intersection opposite a pub with loud music outside at weekends. 4 nights out of 7 I was woken by drunks fighting, singing, vomiting etc One Yale lock on front door didn’t feel safe
Great location, well cleaned, new bathroom and kitchen. Really enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
We’ve stayed in a number of UK holiday properties over the years but this has been our first disappointment. This could be such a lovely place and indeed a few years back it seems it once was, if the older entries in the guestbook are anything to go by. A quick google shows the whole farm was up for sale in 2018 (and what it should look like) and so I presume since then things have become a bit neglected. Island Holiday Homes (who we booked through) also need to pull their finger out and inspect properties on their books if this example is representative of what they offer as high quality acco...more
