Fantastic house it was ideal to host the bridesmaids in with great facilities and plenty of room for the bride and 6 bridesmaids to get ready in. Gorgeous views and great size balconies. We all had a brilliant stay and would highly recommend the house as somewhere to stay.
Excellent holiday accommodation great for a large group very clean and nicely furnished great welcome pack all the party enjoyed staying there
This was described as being a ground floor apartment and we knew it did not have a sea view, but on arrival we were rather taken aback to see that it was more like a basement! None the less, it was very spacious, very comfortable, clean and very well appointed. Claire was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble.
A very nicely appointed apartment, with plenty of space and modern equipment. The owners live on site and were very accommodating and helpful. Lovely views from the lounge/bedroom.
Location is excellent being set in karge grounds - very private. From the moment we walked in we knew this was going to be good - the welcome basket was a nice touch and very welcome. The property has been totally renovatec with all new fittings - everything clean and tidy - you cant ask for much more! Our host popped over to say hello - it was just thd right level of interaction - thank you. So all in all a great few days.
Wonderful location, well equipped, tremendous views, comfortable, great for the family. Our second stay, won't be our last!
Yewtree One is a large airy two bedroom modern apartment - beautifully furnished with every home convenience and comfort - the kitchen is fully equipped with up to date appliances, fridge, toaster, microwave and cooker - a freezer, modern washing machine and dryer, are installed in your own separate utility room - and the bathroom is beautifully clean and spacious with an excellent spacious power shower room - It really is a home from home with everything you need for a short or long term self catering holiday - Shirley and Ian, the owners, were perfect hosts who welcomed us on arrival and wer...more
Another lovely week in the Stables - location is excellent for getting around the island and this year we made use of the local bus. Kitchen is well equipped and the beds comfortable. Lovely views.
We have just come back from a week at Roslyn house. We were also here last year. Perfect flat with everything you could ever need, especially with kids. Great location too.
Island homes were excellent. Fast, efficient, helpful and friendly. Malt house cottage was perfect for our family stay. Great location, beautifully kitted out, clean and spacious. We loved it, thank you.
This cottage really has the wow factor in many ways.It is immaculately presented, comfortable, homely and just lovely in every way. The welcome hamper we received was wonderful and such a nice touch ( Thankyou). It is a very spacious house and the layout gives space to everyone. The bedrooms are large and comfortable with great views . The garden is fantastic with many different area to explore (we loved the summerhouse). The hamlet is stunning and the walks down and around the harbour are magical and teaming with bird life.We have visited the Isle of Wight ten years running and this by far the...more
really enjoyed the squeak a good central position for the whole island .Having been to the states for several years its on par.
Lovely stay in a great location. 10 mins walk to Godshill. Well equipped cottage (milk, coffee, cereals etc a lovely touch). Everything you could need for a relaxing stay.
We had a fantastic time at 1 Drayton Cottage. It's very cosy and chic, well equipped and quiet. Very handy location for the high street shops and pub and some easy walks to the beach, windmill and more. Thank you for having us!
A great place to stay, exel location, convienent for all your needs. local shops, beach, public transport. One down side, parking! if nobody parked opposite great between the post and tree, if parked opposite it can be a little difficult.
One of the best self-catering properties we have stayed in. Very comfortable, well equipped (with instruction manuals for everything), good location (about 5 minutes from Osborne House), and with an excellent pub nearby. Unfortunately we only managed to sit out on the balcony twice due to the weather. Our only comment - the wardrobe doors were difficult to open because they had no handles, and it was quite a stretch to reach the top of the doors. A couple of tips - use the printed instructions to get there - our satnav took us to the wrong end of Cavalier Quay, and try to avoid Newport in th...more
What a wonderful holiday in a lovely village and a beautiful home. It was our first time to the Isle of Wight, and we loved it. The house is perfectly situated to see the island if you have a car. The Old Court Wing was very very clean, well set out and had all the mod cons that you need. It would have been more convenient for us as 4 adults and 2 children if there were a shower in the main bathroom as well as the ensuite but this would not put us off staying there again in the future. The only negative was that the wifi is not very good however we think this is typical of the island. T...more
Found Newport a most confusing place! Couldn't find a decent pub (as opposed to restaurants with perhaps a small bar) when we thought we has found one, at 10 past ten p.m. we were told 'Time' had been called - hardly designed to attract visitors. Could not fault the accommodation or our hosts.
We stayed at The Old Barn for almost 3 months, it was perfect for our extended stay - great walks right from the back door, close to Godshill village but also far enough away from the tourist scene! The Old Barn was warm, and had everything needed to self cater. A perfect stay!
The cottage and garden is lovely, view from the conservatory wonderful and the location in the village of Bonchurch and close to many paths is superb. Note, however that this is definitely cliffside so it's either up or down to go anywhere. This is a consideration of someone in your party has mobility isuues.
Lovely apartment, everything you need and great hosts Sylvia and Ian. 15 minutes walk in Ryde town centre.
Lyndean is a lovely spacious house within a few minutes walk of the high street shops. It is only a 10 minute walk to the beach, which is mainly sandy. You can't park right outside the house, but we found parking on some adjacent roads without too much of a problem. On the whole the owners have given good thought to the needs of people staying, but for a house that sleeps 8 a second set of door keys would have been really useful. The only other thing was that the duvets are really thick, warmer than the ones we use in the middle of winter! Not great in the summer months. This shouldn't detract...more
We were pleasantly surprised with the location , which would be ideal in the hot summer months using the chalet etc . We felt the property was beginning to show signs of age since the last re furb , but otherwise fine. You may wish to note several bulbs had blown and need replacing before a client arrives.
Iduna did feel like a home from home for us as a family, we relaxed as soon as we arrived because it was just like the description and photos we had viewed when booking and was better than we had imagined. The house was comfortable the kitchen was well stocked all the utensils you could need for cooking and we enjoyed many happy meals we cooked and prepared in the kitchen around the dinning table. Our son loved the PS3 and many games he had to choose from and he loved his bedroom. We liked Freshwater and the house being so close to the shops and restaurant's and a football/basketball court...more
Excellent little holiday home, everything worked, except the key lock and the agency came round and fixed that quickly. Comfortable beds, fantastic walk in shower.
We really enjoyed staying at Sheepwash Cottage - spacious, beautiful garden and well equipped. The games room is an added bonus!
We have just returned from a relaxing few days exploring this friendly island. The house is comfortable and with a couple of places to eat within walking distance ideal for a few days R+R.
This was our second stay at Pelham Lodge and we had a great time despite the weather. Fourteen people aged 1 upwards will test the facilities of any holiday home but PL will meet the challenge. Good range of accommodation including a spacious kitchen and great family rooms. The amply good sized garden is well contained providing plenty of space in a safe environment, perfect for a summer barbecue. The owner is very welcoming and attentive to any needs that arise. The beach hut at St Helens is a real bonus (sadly the July 2017 weather was less kind than August 2016). There's plenty to do on the...more
This was our second stay at cost guards property and it was just as good as the first! The property is in a brilliant location of the town and the beach ( as seen by the view) it was a lovely week:)
Really comfortable accommodation. Very well placed fir setting off on bike rides, pretty much traffic free to the sea. Got wet the first day so the log burner was brilliant. Very well placed to visit the rest of the island. Nothing much more than 35 mins away. If you are exploring the whole island and you want some easy cycling with access to tougher routes if you want there is really nothing to fault thus cottage and location. Only negative comments. Watch your foot on the hearth stone it sticks out and I kicked it hard twice on the first night.
Stayed 11-12 days at Queensbury Lodge and loved it. The owners were very friendly and very welcoming. This is a great location to stay being more central on the Island and if you love your road cycling then this place is a must. Nice and quiet and relaxing if you like your own space and unlimited routes with steep hills to climb with stunning views. The property has everything you need, washing machine, cooker, bath/shower, nice comfortable settee to relax on in the evening. Lovely garden too. What is also a plus is there is a bus route within a minute of the house in either direction so if ...more
Wow what a perfect home for a perfect family holiday. My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks with our 4 children and my parents. There was more than enough room for us all with the 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets and very large kitchen. My 2 sisters came to stay for the weekend and used the sofa bed. It was very snug but we knew this before we arrived and was ok for a few nights. This is a perfect location with everything on your doorstep. No need to go anywhere. Family run hotel next door who were very welcoming and we had lots of fun there. Ice cream, slushies and food in the hut next door and o...more
Very good. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,,,,,xxxxxx,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Cold and rainy when we arrived - no heating on so property felt cold and damp. Old heating system that left us without heating or hot water when we awoke the second morning - member of staff from the agent went in and reset the boiler - emergency heating engineer had to be called out that evening as it had failed again. Cleaners needed to revisit as showers had too much gunge and mildew in them to encourage use. Gunk on shower head was cleaned off by ourselves.Towels and bath mats worn and in need of upgrading Wall tiles above cooker hob also cleaned by ourselves to remove the grease. Likewi...more
A comfortable house in a good location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, The Lifeboat pub in the East Cowes marina is very close buy and does good meals. A Waitrose is quite near and Osborne House is also nearby.
We enjoyed our second stay in Niton Very friendly owner and cottage immaculate My only concern for future holiday makers is that the bathroom is very small - shower door does not open fully
Such a fantastic property, well equipped and spacious in a great location! We will definitely be back!!
Island Holiday Homes were very helpful and did all they could to help with our enquiries. Woodside Cottage was lovely and very true to the description. My 2 year old grandson loved the playhouse and the toys in the conservatory. Woodside Cottage is obviously a very well loved and maintained home - a real find. One small drawback was the road immediately in front of the drive. It did make taking walks with a young child rather 'hairy'!
This property is well appointed and equipped, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Ventnor has a good selection of bars and restaurants to choose from and we liked to wander down in the evenings. The main issue I would make people aware of is the location of the property. It is at the very top of the town and the hills up to it are very steep. Obviously this is not a major problem if in the car, but it's quite tough going after you have had a drink maybe.... The other reservation we had was that it is on the entrance to an industrial estate. It was quite noisy at times, with ...more
Fabulous, comfortable apartment very close to all amenities including the beach and yet still very quiet plus a sea view which we weren't expecting!
We have recently returned from a week at Mariners. We found the accommodation to be very comfortable, well laid out and spacious an actually exceeded our expectation. The house is also very well equipped with everything anyone could need. Mariners is a credit to the owner.
As always a very good place to stay. Everything is there and the ;location is excellent. Looking forward ot returning next year.
A warm welcome from the owners plus a were tasty sponge cake. The apartment was a home from home and was nice and handy for the restaurants and shops and other amenities. The location was very quiet and peaceful. All in all we made a good choice.
We had a great holiday at Hope Cottage for the second year running. Very comfortable. Enclosed garden with trampoline and swings much appreciated. Kitchen diner very good for the family (3 generations). Location excellent.
The location of this house was perfect. There was everything there that was needed but it was all a bit mismatch, but if I went back to Sandown I would definitely go there again.
Excellent location to the beach. Kitchen too small for more than four people to eat in. Perfect for young children.
Felt the accommodation needed some TCL. Had to reinforce the garden gates as neither locked properly. BBQ in a sorry state and could do with a stairgate.
We have just returned from a two week stay at Beachside in Bembridge. This is our 4th visit to this property which is lovely and in an excellent position. However, on this visit, we were disappointed with the cleanliness and general repair of the property. We had been on the Isle of Wight for 6 days staying in St Helens, prior to our booking at Beachside, so we drove past Beachside at around 14.00 on 30th June expecting to see the cleaners cars outside the house. We were surprised to find the house empty with all the curtains drawn and no sign of the cleaners. On entering the property the...more
Lovely place, clean and every thing you need ,peacefull ,all information in a folder so you know how to use things like cooker, washer ect,,will be booking this one again, only thing I missed is a clock in the lounge.
We had no complaints about the accommodation but the facilities on what seemed to be a full Park were pretty much useless. We walked up to the centre at 6.05pm for dinner for 6 people only to be told we close at 6pm as we only have 1 member of staff! Bar was closed at 6pm, so every night we had to leave the site to eat out - come on Gurnard Pines get your act together!
The positives: The flat was ideally located for most things and was nice and clean. The negatives: No car parking provided (Though I did find free parking in nearby streets @ 5 minutes away). Suggested Improvements: Noise from upstairs. Each day we were woken just after 6am by either the dog or young child. The proprietor needs to buy some carpets for upstairs and get a better fitting door that separates the flat from the rest of the house if they do not want their holiday customers to hear every word they say or every movement! The key for the entrance door to the flat could only be used f...more
A nice spacious house close to the beach and local amenities. Some decoration needed but didn't bother us. Would benefit from a mirror in the double bedroom. Toilet cistern push buttons also need replacing /adjusting. Daughter loved the jigsaw and puzzles available to use. Overall we had a very nice holiday and found it easy to relax in the house.
Seagrove is perfect - spacious, cosy (we stayed in November) and comfortable. The views from the bungalow are stunning and the location is excellent as a base for visiting any part of the Island. Seagrove is dog friendly, as are many of the pubs serving food in the area - we felt welcome in most places, which was lovely. All in all, just perfect!
A comfortable and well equipped little cottage in a perfect location. We enjoy coming to the island and have been visiting St Helens for many years as its such a lovely place.
Instructions need updating. We had to help visitors to adjoining Morse Cottage find their key box because instructions not accurate. Hot water supply not very reliable and instructions to re-set it out of date (reference to control panel being opposite a red sofa that isn't there any more). No guidelines about what should go into the recycle bin. Outside furniture not up to standard of indoor furniture. TV extremely complicated. Given cost of property I think it should be replaced with something simpler. No scales in kitchen. However, we had a very good time despite being unlucky with the ...more
This property gives the impression it requires a deep clean, whilst I appreciate everyone has different standards this comes nowhere near to ours. Whoever gets paid for cleaning ,should return the money,it's a rush job. It's a pity there is not a facility on this review site to show photos ,that then would be self explanatory. As there are double yellow lines outside the property parking permits are issued with your booking ,fine, except you need to return to your vehicle everyday to replace on a daily basis.Ok if your using the car, otherwise a pain .Would not like to holiday high season as p...more
We had a great week at Ninham. The house was comfy, clean and large enough for the 8 of us. The facilities shared with the camp site were a big plus for the house. The swimming pool in particular was a big bonus and one my children loved! My only very minor negative was the small fridge. Far too small for a house which sleeps 9.
A very clean and tidy property in an excellent location just yards from the beach and town. A very enjoyable stay, shame you can't affect the weather!
When we arrived, the first thing we noticed was that the blind across the double front glass doors was wrecked. This meant that we had NO PRIVACY, NO SECURITY, and NO SHELTER from the sun. Inside, the sink was full of dirty water. All the tea cups were stained BROWN..had to be cleaned with BLEACH. The FRIDGE and GRILL were FILTHY. Our clothes could only be hung in the cleaning cupboard, along with mop and bucket, ironing board, vacuum cleaner and other junk. The whole place was cold, damp, and uncomfortable. ISLAND HOLIDAYS STAFF WERE ALL BRILLIANT. Sadly, 58 Salterns is just a horrid dir...more
Unfortunately the property had a bad damp and musty smell and Windows very hard to open and close. Customer service however on reporting the problem was very good. The single beds are also more child size than adult. It is a very high traffic area but very close to some amazing aspects - such as model village (most value for money attraction!) and family orientated pubs ESP the Griffin.
It was a nice stay und with sunny weather, we had quiet and chilly holidays. The deck at the roof had a spectacular view with comfortable chairs, but we didn´t find the deckchairs. Bus station, restaurants and supermarkets are nearby and the local bus net provides accessibility to all main spots . The coastal path provided spectacular views during our hiking trips Please inform the guests from other other than the UK, that a special charger for the electrical devices is needed. A tutorial for the key access would have been appreciated.
The house was in need of a deep clean, there were stains on carpets, one duvet had blood stains (we could do nothing about this until the Monday, when it was replaced). The stair bannister was dirty and several marks on walls. The table and kitchen surfaces were sticky and after seeing the dish cloth (black) I could see why. The upstairs shower was nothing but dangerous my granddaughter would have been scolded if I had not had the presence of mind to push her away, and yes it was turned down. The oven knob came off in my hand, garden chairs were damaged and only 2 of them. The rotary dry...more
We'd stayed at Norlands before, so it was a known quantity. It's a beautiful, spacious old cottage which has seen better days. The beds, sofas, chairs etc. were all comfortable and the kitchen is very well kitted out, with plenty of storage throughout the house. There's loads of parking space and the wrap around garden is marvellous. The views across to Yarmouth are splendid and the night sky is breathtaking. It's a wonderful location for a self catering holiday and we had a great time. The property is in need of some TLC - nothing costing a fortune, just a bit of time and effort. The ...more
Admirals Cottage provides good accommodation and is well equipped. We were very disappointed on arrival to find only one working bedside lamp shared between four beds. In addition, the battery in the smoke alarm was chirruping repeatedly and could not be silenced. The owner cannot be contacted directly by guests. So we had to contact the agents. Although their response was commendably swift and helpful, the owner was either unwilling or unable to resolve the lamp problem. So we had to make do. The smoke alarm proved to be faulty and had to be removed by the agents' maintenance handyman. It was...more
If you like retro you may like this 1950's furnished flat, down to the wood chip wall coverings. Entrance to building utilitarian and cold. Damp walls, peeling wallpaper & dirty windows. Challenging 20 stair approach to flat3, definitely not for the less able bodied. Main bedroom comfortable with views over channel. Second bedroom - shrine to 1960's pop art an acquired taste. Living room - bizarre collection of furniture in need of comfortable chairs, good views from balcony. Kitchen adequate, but hot water pressure very low and subject to vagaries of hot water system. Sorry, but very di...more
We stayed with 6 adults, 2 children and an infant. The place wasn't cleaned sufficiently and there were little stones, sweetie wraps and rice crispies on the floors. My daughter stood in a fish hook that was missed on the children's bedroom carpet. There was on outside table that had to be removed as it was partially rotten and screws sticking out, as well as a nail sticking out from the floor boards. After these initial stumble stones were overcome we enjoyed our stay. The house is very well equipped for small children including stair gates, high chair and cot. There are plenty of books an...more
No 57 The Salterns, was at first glance clean, and tidy, with good facilities, and comfortable bedding. As our time there progressed little niggles began to emerge, and to heighten things which perhaps should have been present in the first instant. Namely, a welcome pack, together with, an information pack would have been useful. Then we come to a list of things which could be corrected within a short time, and at minimum cost. Only four dinner knives in a set of six of other cutlery. Pudding dishes were all chipped. Shower curtain needs to b...more
Morse Cottage is in a lovey location with plenty of room but the cottage we found to be very tired. All the curtains require maintenance throughout the building and one set seemed to be running with moths. We did leave a list of things on the dining table that we found e.g. no cereal bowls for breakfast (we ate out of kitchen bowls), the bottom tray of the dishwasher was broken and would not slide out - parts broken parts left in the fruit bowl, the ensuite toilet seat was broken on arrival, the iron did not work (no fuse), no toaster, no welcome pack with instructions and safety notes and n...more
A reasonable level of accommodation. Kitchen equipment not entirely clean, waste still in waste bin (elephant thing in front room), bathroom door difficult to open, standard of cleanliness not high (many examples), washer not connected to water so enquired during the stay, wardrobe in second bedroom had bad smell.
A charming property with everything thoughtfully provided. Very convenient for lots getting to lots of the island's attractions.
We enjoyed our stay at the Fens especially the lovely outlook, private beach, tasteful furnishings and décor and well equipped kitchen. Areas that need improvement are: The access road is vicious it needs tarmacking for both vehicles & is dangerous to walk down, plus I fell down the pothole in the grass path & twisted my ankle. Some curtains would be handy in the bedrooms as the windows are draughty. I got food poisoning twice (so 3 days out of 7 ill ). I think the fridge is set far too cold (lettuce & fruit froze) & it smelt rank & needs a thorough clean. Bathrooms need thorough cleani...more
No Wi-Fi available even though advertised and was commented on by others in comments book. Relatively clean in most rooms although the mould in the twin bed room needs addressing. The fridge is only adequate if you are a borrower ( tiny). No access to creek. Wouldn't recommend
