We loved our stay here with our sons and friends. The accommodation worked perfectly for us all. The games room and pool were a fab addition and meant you had options on site rather than going out. We would book again in the future
We were the first to stay after lockdown and the location is perfect for short trips to places of interest, beaches and Pensthorpe. Due to lockdown the pool and games room were shut but we got good use of the grounds and tennis courts. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed; as with other reviews, I’d say this wasn’t quite luxury standard. The barn conversion is superb but the elements of a stay that make it luxury weren’t quite there. Only minor grumble was after lockdown it needed a bit more attention to the little things. A bit of dusty blinds, ants, dirty window sea...more
We had a fantastic stay over Christmas. The details such as the hamper and Victoria Sponge on the kitchen table and the Christmas tree in the living room made the stay feel special from the start. The whole site is beautiful and immaculately maintained. The cottages are very comfortable and and the swimming pool and games room were perfect for spending time with our children.
We have stayed at Cranmer Country Cottages three times and hope to return. On each visit we have been very impressed by the level of care and thought that goes into creating such a lovely place to stay. It is a perfect place to relax with our young children, particularly with the space available on site. We highly recommend it.
Came across this hidden gem by accident and would like to keep it our secret ! However so pleased they are doing well. A lot of care and detail has gone into the renovation of these barns including a fab swimming pool and an essential games room for kids. Wonderful hospitality from Zoe on arrival - nothing was too much trouble for her. She’s a complete asset to the barns. We hired two cottages to sleep our 18 th birthday party guests and the barns more than lived up to our expectations. Would use again and highly recommend you to try it out for yourselves. Thank you to all concerned.
Another brilliant week at Cranmer. This time we rented Swallow, and my family took Woodpecker and Owl. We loved staying in Swallow. Spacious living accommodation, nice big double bedroom with a further single and small double. The patio was lovely with a picnic table and a further table and chairs with umbrella. Perfect for bbq's with my family of 10. Just a small thing - the pillows are a bit hard and bulky - perhaps an option for a few feather pillows would be a nice touch? Also, this may be a Covid thing, as I don't recall this last year but all the duvets were covered in a plasticy ...more
Our second family holiday at Cranmer. Just as good as last time though we were unable to use the pool & playroom. My only criticism would be the bath /shower. If I was less agile I would have found it mighty difficult to get in and out if the bath! I would have no hesitation in recommendIng Cranmer to friends.
It was our fourth stay at Cranmer Cottages. We had another fantastic stay. The cottage had been painted and a few new soft furnishings had been added which made us feel that the cottages are well cared for. We are always telling our friends to go to Cranmer and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of going.
V nicer days comfortable accommodation with more or less everything you could need. Really great pool - warm and spotless. Area is beautiful with quick access to beaches and other sightseeing. We loved it.
A lovely, peaceful, spacious cottage in a great location. The gardens, front and back were ideal for our 2 dogs and 3 children. We made use of the swimming pool in the main area, which was a great size and we actually preferred having a timed slot each day just to ourselves. Lovely beaches nearby, and lots of attractions to visit. We had a great stay and would recommend.
Comments: 1. Gas cooker in Owl was inefficient and certainly not eco friendly. Gas rings blew back. Cooker in wagtail was slightly better. 2. Welcome pack was a bit poor compared to others we have experienced. Cake was delicious but there wasn’t enough tea and milk. 3. Encouraged to recycle but perhaps you need 2 recycling bins as the 1 was constantly full 4. Parking was adequate but not ideal over the road with young children 5. We didn’t realise the swimming was restricted when we booked. 6. Welcome folder needs updating. Some information was contradictory. Eg were dogs welcome or not...more
Unfortunately we were disappointed in the standard of accommodation at Garden House. Not especially clean, felt quite tired and dated and we feel it is overpriced for the amount of space and quality of the furnishings & finish provided. Also did not feel luxurious. However we cannot fault the location (near gorgeous beaches) or the lovely setting.
