Just couldn't fault property or the area close to lots of places. Ideal for us as we range ages from 3 months to 73 years. There was 3 generations. We had real family fun swimming with excellent indoor pool ,in green games room also had lots of toys games and books there too. Very safe on paddock with children. Our grandchildren were out on swings slide etc with no worries of them not being seen ! Our family of 16 stayed in Avocet, the Garden House and Tern. Ranging from 3 to 70 there was something for everyone. Space to all be together and apart! The living space in the Garden House was perfect for us all together, but the children could also have their own space in the Avocet area. The indoor swimming pool with individual private times for each house proved to be a big winner. 5 stars Cranmer Country cottages!
We booked Coot cottage fairly last minute. The cottage was lovely, very clean and very comfortable. The swimming pool was great and we used it every morning and evening. It’s close to beaches and NT properties. The only downside is that Fakenham has supermarkets but they’re quite small and have a limited choice so bring anything with you that is out of the very ordinary. That’s a tiny gripe and nothing to do with the cottage, go to walk on the huge, wonderful beaches and in the countryside.
Cranmer cottages are a lovely place for a family holiday, there is plenty to do both at the cottages and in the surrounding countryside. The cottages are clean, attractive, well equipped and have a light and airy feel. Having a manned office on site in working hours was areal bonus.
This time we stayed in Tern cottage for 3 nights. We returned to Cranmer due to its ideal location, being roughly 15 mins from Wells and Holkham. If you're not eating out, there's a nearby Walsingham farm shop. Supermarket such as Waitrose can also deliver here. The cottage is well appointed. The living space is open plan with great view of the garden space. It was a comfortable space including the beds. The main selling point is the swimming pool. This was our third visit to Cranmer and this time we stayed in Owl cottage. This suited my husband and I perfectly. Cranmer’s rural setting is always peaceful and relaxing and we made the most of the swimming pool as usual. The local wildlife is always interesting, with partridge and woodpeckers in the garden this time, as well as the numerous baby rabbits. We came a little later this year, having been in March before which meant that we could visit a few more places in the vicinity that were now open. As a family of three with a toddler, we had such a nice week at Wagtail. The games room was great fun, we loved using the pool and we had a great time in the little playground. We thought the cottage was really well located, and easily got to lots of wonderful parts of north Norfolk. Everything was so thoughtful and well set up for young families. Thank you for a lovely stay.
This was our first stay at Cranmer Cottages (Woodpecker) and we were not disappointed. The cottage was extremely clean & comfortable in an excellent location. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and close to beaches and lots of excursions for the small people. We were particularly pleased at the low flying aircraft for the aviation enthusiasts amongst us! The swimming pool was a real gem as the weather was very hot when we stayed (mid August). The paddock for the children to play safely in was a huge bonus. Perfection in every way, thank you I am sure we will be back :)
We have stayed in End Cottage a few times now. I could happily live here. The Cottage is a home from home with exceptional accommodation. It is big, very comfy and perfect for a visit with the pup. Fully enclosed large garden front and back. A firm favourite and ideal for Holkham and Wells Next the Sea. The pool and games room are an added bonus and there is plenty of parking. Quiet and in a nice country setting we cannot recommend it highly enough. Dealing with everyone at Cranmer Cottages has always been a pleasure. They have gone out of their way to help make our visits so enjoyable.
We were lucky enough to spend a long weekend in Avocet and it was the tonic we didn't realise we needed. We arrived late at night in the pitch black and rain to a warm and welcoming cottage, the lights had been turned on in advance and it was very much appreciated. The cottage was absolutely beautiful and in a wonderful location. Many hours were spent just watching the world go by and exclaiming about the size of the bunnies (they were huge). Some issues with noise upstairs from floor boards/coverings affects anybody sleeping in the bedroom below Hot water set at far too high a temperature too easy to scald anybody Upstairs bathroom towel radiator unable to turn off at the valve/control again far too hot The times stated to travel to the nearest pub and beach needs to be reviewed
Great although not enough swimming slots and too many flies and no oven gloves Also initial emails were not addressed to dear blank not my name No one checks you in and makes sure you are ok But house and grounds and pool are great
Size and layout of cottages - very good Play area, Swimming Pool and Games Room - excellent Lack of Welcome info. ie Wi-Fi access Gen. Maintenance- Vacuum blocked by previous occupant, kettle in need of descaling. Infestation of ? Cluster Flies (provided with Fly Spray)
