Cranmer cottages are a really pleasant holiday base. We stayed in Coot as a couple. This is a really comfortable cottage and was ideal for a smaller party. The furnishing are very good quality and we had everything we needed The location does require a car, although we brought our bikes and found a great route up to Walsingham and Wells. Within the local area Creake abbey and Studholme Mill were good for food and ambiance.
We had a great weekend as a family in Swallows Nest. The two adjoining cottages fitted our needs with a large dining area in one and plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms for a party of five adults and four children. So well equipped too. We had dreadful weather on one day and the games room and swimming pool was a lifesaver with the children. When the weather improved the outdoor playing area and Wendy houses were a winner.
Lovely weekend spent with the family. Party of 11 staying in 3 properties. Great facilities and the kids could run free safely within the gardens. Lovely indoor pool. Great places to visit nearby as well. Would definitely recommend and hope to return in the not to distant future
Came here as our holiday in Zakynthos fell through with the collapse of Thomas Cook. We were hoping for some relaxation to compensate for the lack of sunshine, We weren’t disappointed. The cottage is lovely and fantastically well equipped. The big living room window looks out over a field where there was plenty of bird life and a lovely lively stoat. The beds were extremely comfortable. The pool was absolutely lovely. A trip to nearby Sculthorpe Nature Reserve is highly recommended.
We have been coming to Cranmer for years. We love it and would highly recommend it. Lots of space for the children to run around in at the cottages, pool to swim in and really close to all the wonderful walks North Norfolk has to offer.
The Eco Barn was a lovely place to stay we were pleasantly surprised the Garden House and Avocet were actually connected not just 2 buildings next to each other which was great for our stay. Plenty to keep the children entertained and over all very comfy place to stay. Only a short drive from wells next the sea for a day trip out too. Highly recommend for somewhere to stay in Norfolk.
A 3rd amazing visit at Cranmer Country Cottages. This time with friends who loved it as much as we did. It’s a formula that just works! The cottages are fantastic - easy to cater for the family and any guests. Children are super happy and safe in the beautiful garden. This year we discovered the brilliant games room - ping pong and pool plus jenga and a play kitchen. Zoe and the owner John are always very welcoming and helpful - we feel so happy to be part of the Cranmer gang! The pool is an incredible added bonus and makes up for the few rainy days we had. There is so much to do we never fit ...more
It was our fourth stay at Cranmer Cottages. We had another fantastic stay. The cottage had been painted and a few new soft furnishings had been added which made us feel that the cottages are well cared for. We are always telling our friends to go to Cranmer and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of going.
V nicer days comfortable accommodation with more or less everything you could need. Really great pool - warm and spotless. Area is beautiful with quick access to beaches and other sightseeing. We loved it.
We have stayed in various cottages at Cranmer over the last 10 years.this was our 11th visit which says it all really. Great cottage, great facilities, lovely people and our children had a fabulous time. This time we even took friends with us in another cottage. Booked up for next year already!
Comments: 1. Gas cooker in Owl was inefficient and certainly not eco friendly. Gas rings blew back. Cooker in wagtail was slightly better. 2. Welcome pack was a bit poor compared to others we have experienced. Cake was delicious but there wasn’t enough tea and milk. 3. Encouraged to recycle but perhaps you need 2 recycling bins as the 1 was constantly full 4. Parking was adequate but not ideal over the road with young children 5. We didn’t realise the swimming was restricted when we booked. 6. Welcome folder needs updating. Some information was contradictory. Eg were dogs welcome or not...more
One slight negative was the sounds from the airfield three miles away in the evenings. This did not spoil our stay at all.
