Lovely house in a good location. Close to Lymington Quay and the New Forest. Great area for walks and cycling. We will come again!
Spent 10 days here and had a fabulous time - absolutely loved our stay in the Cruck Cottage and the New Forest! The cottage is cosy, comfortable and well equipped. Loved the location and garden too. Thank you so much for the special touches such as dog biscuits, logs, and eggs. We really enjoyed the pub too, were lucky to have a band there on our last night! Our stay was perfect and will happily return to this lovely place! Thank you New Forest Escapes for finding us the right fit!
Nash Point is absolutely beautiful. The owners have done a marvellous job of the property in almost every way. Only issue we had was that the hot water wasn't working initially but it was swiftly resolved... only thing it could do with is a pool being added to that spectacular lawn!
Bramble hut is set in a wonderful location, very peaceful. The hut is laid out well and has all needed for comfort The hot tub is am amazing added bonus.
Our second time at Seabiscuit and already looking forward to our third. Such a special place with so many thoughtful touches. Very well equipped kitchen and fabulous location for shops and marina. Lovely courtyard walled garden with plenty of comfy seating and sun shade. We love this house.
The service from New Forest Escapes was excellent from start to finish. Nothing seemed too much trouble and staff were always very polite, efficient and helpful. The property was delightful, stylish, comfortable and very interesting, with masses of space (we were a family group of 8 ranging in age from 3 years to 70) and lovely views across the grounds to the Solent. We loved all the artwork on the walls (most was for sale and much by Caroline and Nick de Rothschild, the property owners) and particularly enjoyed our visit to their Palais des Vaches art gallery a short drive from the rotun...more
We loved our long weekend at Mulberry Lodge, the house is beautiful and the setting gorgeous and peaceful. The New Forest Adventure pack for my son was a nice touch!
We stayed for a week at Swallows Cottage and would wholeheartedly recommend it (and hope to come again!). Customer service prior to our stay was excellent and the cottage itself was superb! Brilliantly equipped (they really have thought of everything for a family stay - our 3 year old particularly enjoyed the vast selection of toys!), comfortable and stylish and in a great location - walkable to the marina and the high street. Lymington itself is wonderful with a lovely selection of shops, cafes and restaurants and is a perfect base for exploring the area. 10/10!
Very comfortable house with every amenity and in ideal location for exploring the New Forest. The swim/spa was a great success with the younger members of our party
I booked Saltwood so that my family could all enjoy my brother's special birthday. We were not disappointed. Our accommodation and the New Forest were amazing.
Absolutely ideal place to base yourself for exploring the New Forest. Even better to just tootle down to Lymington itself. Brought our bikes down so having the cycle rack outside was a bonus. Electric vehicle users no need to worry as fast charger just around the corner in the second car park around the corner a minute away and other chargers all around the town. Only downer is a 4pm access time, waste of a day.
We have just returned from a fantastic week at Little Patch. The house is extremely well equipped and beautifully presented. There is a farm shop nearby in Mockbeggar, or supermarkets in Ringwood which is a short drive away. The views are very special from the house, with rabbits playing on the lawn in the morning, horses strolling up the lane and deer grazing in the fields at the front. You can walk straight out of the back gate onto the common and there are many lovely pubs and walks nearby. A special mention to Arniss Equestrian - our daughter thoroughly enjoyed her 2hr ride into the forest...more
We had a very pleasant week at Treetops. Deceptively large, light airy rooms, all amenities and very nice welcome pack. Comfy beds. The outdoor space is especially pleasant with lots of trees and birds singing, front and back. The decking is enormous and a sun trap, great for sun bathing, relaxing, al fresco dining and barbecues. The owner (Vivek) was in contact before, during and after to make certain everything going smooth and with recommendations. The location is ideal for exploring the New Forest, visited Burley, Mudeford, Lymington and Poultons Park. All in all a great holiday, woul...more
Originally had booked in for a different place than whistlestop but due to factors out of our control, New Forest Escapes were instantly in touch to inform us of this and had offered us alternative accommodation. They stayed in contact with us and there we settled on Whistlestop. They went above and beyond for my partner and I to celebrate our 9 year anniversary. New Forest Escapes also offered us a gesture of good will for the inconvenience which we used towards our favourite cuisine, Italian none the less, where the restaurant (Alberto’s in brockenhurst) were also so accommodating to help us...more
We were 2 couples and had such a lovely stay at Victory Cottage which is a very comfortable, well-equiped home from home in the perfect location to make the most of the area. Very easy off road parking nearby and quick access to local transport, walks, the harbour and the heart of the town. Would definitely recommend.
This property is in a great location, very well equipped and impressively fitted out. we have stayed 3 times and about to book again, the location is great for Milford village and we walk for miles each day usually with a Saturday lunch at Soho in Christchurch and this time which was a lovey touch New Forest Escapes treated us, a lovley touch!
Nutmeg House was a fabulous choice for our family get together. Plenty of space for old and young to relax, eat and sleep. Lovely comfy beds with the youngest member of the party enjoying the bunk beds next to the living room which was perfect both during the day and evening. Location is great with the High St and Quay a short walk away plus the New Forest on your doorstep. Recommend eating at The Lighthouse on the seafront at Milford on Sea an easy drive away or an easy 2 hour walk on the coast path.
Second year of staying in Oak Lodge ! Superb bungalow , comfortable, roomy, lovely garden , hot tub …… just brilliant ! Burley is a typical New Forest village , and central to the forest and plenty of coastal towns , ideal for dogs !
A family group of 6 adults and 4 children ( 6 to 14) enjoyed a 4 night stay in this well appointed house. The accommodation was of a very high standard and the kitchen equipped with everything you could want and more ! Plenty of crockery, glasses etc that can be lacking in some properties . The lack of a second sink ( ie one in the utility room ) the only criticism but there were two dishwashers…….. A football net provided in the garden was popular as was the cinema room where the children could escape. The accommodation on three floors with bedrooms upstairs and downstairs easily split into...more
We booked a weekend away for an 80th birthday with our family. We wanted something fairly local to where we live as grandchildren needed to leave Sunday evening to get home for school/college. They were very impressed with the games room and made full use of it. The weather was mostly wet all weekend so they were kept busy. We were impressed with the space of all the rooms and the house was well equipped with everything we needed.
We had a brilliant stay at Nuthatch. Location was perfect for walks into the village an the surrounding area - perfect for little legs, no need to have to walk far to see the beauty of the new forest. Ponies right outside the window was a real treat and didn’t get old. The house was stunning - extremely clean, comfortable, lovely bed linen and towels. It felt a real home from home with all the amenities you need. The garden area was great for the children to be outside whilst we could enjoy the open plan kitchen and “coffee corner” as we named it. Beautiful light and a real calm and quiet feel...more
We had a family birthday to celebrate and Riverview was perfect. Very comfortable bedrooms, fabulous decor throughout and lovely walks from the door. Probably the best holiday home we have ever stayed in. We loved the paintings.
This was a lovely place to stay. Everything was like home from home, it had everything you could need even things like blankets on the sofas for those chilly evenings. It had a coffee machine an air fryer all mod cons. Plenty of storage, Beautiful rooms, comfy sofas. The best part of it was sitting looking out of the window and seeing Horses and cows just strolling around. Fabulous. The garden was beautiful, it was so nice to sit out and all you could hear was the birds tweeting and the clip clop of hooves. We definitely hope to go here again.
We loved our time at The Nest, our only regret was not booking another night! Perfect space for 2 people, the place was clean and cosy! The location is so central, only a 5 minute walk away from the high street in one direction and the station in the other direction, parking was super easy too! The bed was a highlight, the mattress was so comfortable, and it was just the perfect cosy space at night to look up at stars through the skylight, and then close the blind for a good nights sleep! We can’t wait to come back to the Nest!
Another fantastic stay at this wonderful property in Lymington. Ideally located and within walking distance to all the lovely town has to offer. Transport links nearby for easy access to the New Forest and the Isle of Wight. We will return!!
We booked Moo Cottage for its convenient location near the start of an organised cycle ride, but it completely exceeded all expectations. The setting is absolutely breathtaking – far more beautiful than we had imagined, with stunning countryside views in every direction. The house itself is amazing and even better than the photos. It’s spacious, stylish and incredibly well thought out, making it perfect for our family weekend with our daughters and their partners. Everything felt comfortable and high quality and it was a joy to spend time there. A truly special place that we’d love to return...more
The Little Gate House is of the very highest standard in all areas. The style and decor are stunning. It is very well equipped. It’s is in a quiet location with a short walk to the beach. I strongly recommend The Little Gate House for the perfect break.
Wow, just wow! Everything was as described, if not better. Definitely exceeded our expectations and plenty of space for 8 people, along with hosting other members of our family who visited us over Christmas. The place was fully equipped with everything we needed, along with a picture perfect Christmas Tree. And there were some nice additional touches to make us feel welcome when we arrived. Can’t rate this place highly enough and will be our first choice again in future if ever we need to rent a larger home in the New Forest.
We had a wonderful stay at Ridge Cottage. The location is amazing in terms of the new forest and the coast. The hosts were really helpful and we were so comfortable with everything we needed. One of my friends has already booked a stay for the summer!
Great place to stay with small children garden and main area very family friendly. The house is very well stocked. The garden perfect with furniture and a bbq. The only downsize was the parking. Unless you have a small car it won’t fit into the driveway. Parking was fine when we were there but perhaps during summer months maybe a problem. Great walking into town too and along the sea wall. We didn’t need to use the car very much so a big plus.
This is a great house for a large group. There are two large eating areas, a great playroom for the kids and a great garden for games. It is a little on the edge of the forest but easily accessed by car. The big shout out goes to the team at New Forest Escapes who are kind, attentive and very responsive.
Perfect for a short stay as a couple. Loved the peaceful area but a short stroll to the lovely town of Milford. Little Nye was comfortable and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. As it's the annex to a larger house we will definitely be looking to book again with all the family to make the most of all the space.
We had a great stay at popsy, house was lovely a real home from home. Sway is such a great location.
Our second time staying at Wood Haven Excellent holiday in comfort and a welcoming touch. Great location
Fern Villa is exceptionally decorated, comfortably furnished and luxuriously equipped for a brilliant family stay. The fully enclosed rear garden is excellent for dogs and the outside lounging area lovely at night with fire pit under the stars. Amazing to see the local ponies, donkeys and horses wondering on the road out the front. A nice easy driving distance to the best beaches and walking trails right from Brockenhurst to explore.
New Forest Escapes are a friendly team, dedicated to our happiness! They responded to WhatsApp promptly. On arrival the house manager made contact, asking me to contact her with any queries - how nice! The team produce an online guide with everything you need to know about the house and local area - it’s so thoughtful, professional and was much appreciated. The house itself is in an open space surrounded by fields on a quiet road. It was peaceful. We immediately felt at home, loved the garden and hot tub. A well-equipped kitchen - oil, salt and pepper, some Nespresso pods, teabags and washing ...more
Wanted a break in the New Forest and this cottage met that desire. It was comfortable and homely with every thing that you need and more. Would happily spend more time there.
Excellent location. Comfortable and nicely laid out accommodation but felt it was tired and needed refreshing.
Brilliant location if you enjoy walking and seeing the vast array of seabirds and other wildlife . We literally walked everywhere whilst staying for a week. Loved the Aga once we got used to it.
Spent a few days pre Christmas with the family and had an excellent trip. The cottage was in a great location for some walks and next to a super pub that did a fantastic Sunday roast. Great customer service from New Forest Escapes too!
Conveniently located, an ideal property for our family of 10 get-together. We all enjoyed the comfort and space, one of the best we've come across.
A very convenient and comfortable stay, with lots of thoughtful touches on arrival. The kitchen is particularly well-equipped. It was a great base to explore the New Forest.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Forest Cottage which is clearly a well-loved family home. The owner was helpful and generous with welcome gifts. The location is superb for the many beautiful walks in the New Forest. Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst, Beaulieu and Lymington are 10 - 20 minutes away, together with the coast (we visited Milford on Sea). There is an excellent village community shop nearby and we can recommend the Red Lion at Boldre, which is also close by.
A lovely cottage, with a large kitchen and dining area. The house is spacious and comfortable with different sitting rooms where guests can sit together or use for time on their own. Good location. Beautiful views of the garden which is well kept with good outdoor seating areas. Some of the bathrooms have baths with handheld showers.
We recently stayed in a lovely cottage-style property in Burley, in the New Forest, with our 15-month-old and had a really peaceful and cosy break. We were especially grateful for the thoughtful provision of a travel cot, high chair, and bath seat, which made our stay so much easier. The location was perfect for unwinding, with beautiful walks right from the doorstep—we especially loved seeing the ponies roaming freely nearby, which made the experience feel extra special. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay in a beautiful setting, and we’d definitely consider returning.
A comfortable cottage for the family and our grand daughter lived the dolls house. Sofas in the lounge a bit tired.
Property very compact for 4 guests Parking is a card system cannot park outside If you don’t want to use your car whilst staying have to keep moving out if car park
A lovely artistically furnished character cottage in a very peaceful farm setting. Well equipped and with full length window/sliding doors on to the patio - giving plenty of light as well as great views over the fields. We enjoyed the artwork in Little Exbury (and the nearby Palais de Vache) - especially the paintings by Caroline de Rothschild. The stairs could do with a handrail! Because the whole area is flat near the coast it can be a bit breezy at times, but the views are great. The nearby Exbury Gardens are excellent, as is Lepe beach - both within 5-10 minutes drive.
This is a lovely house and extremely well equipped. It's in a perfect location in Lymington. There are plenty of great restaurants and pubs on your doorstep. Easy access to the New forest and other coastal towns. Unfortunately, we had a mini heatwave during our stay and could not use the master bedroom which is in the roof space.
The Lodge is a great place tro stay for an extended family get together. Wonderful bedrooms and lots of generous spaces. The highlight for us was the amazing kitchen where the whole family (there were 7 of us) could hang out ant chat whilst cooking and then eating. The lounge is also a great space for sitting together around the log burner. Outdoor space is also generous although we were there in earlty March so couldn't use the pool. We will definitely consider coming back.
70th birthday treat for wife and family and couldn't have found a better place to stay although by the time the additional charges were added it was an expensive treat. Having said that we had a great time and there are plenty of restaurants nearby, including Limewood, which was incredible. A lovely stay.
A fabulous place to stay for a family gathering and celebration…. Everything was beautifully presented, v clean and comfortable. Our 3 dogs enjoyed the garden space. We were fortunate to have some warm beautiful weather to be able to use the pool and jacuzzi too. The location was great to walk into Lymington and an easy short drive to the beaches and New Forest.
Beautiful little cottage. Everything you needed perfect place to recharge your batteries will definitely return one day.
The Old Church is beautifully presented, very clean and comfortable. The hot tub in the graveyard is great fun. From the photos we thought that both the organ and old record player would be in working order. They may well have been but there were no instructions for either and in our short stay we didn't manage to master either of them. Also, the location is not as quiet and rural as the listing suggests. It is on a very noisy road (not helped by roadworks and traffic lights maybe) and there is no gate from the graveyard "straight into the forest" that we could see. In addition, although there...more
It’s perfectly acceptable for an owner to describe their property as ‘small’ or ‘cosy’—provided the accommodation possesses a modicum of charm, rustic or otherwise. This place simply possesses smallness. However, what the ‘Boat Shed’ lacks in charm, it makes up for in plywood, rusty tables, and a shower so small that one wonders if the owners considered that an average-sized adult might want to clean themselves in it. Couple this with the Hyacinth “Bouquet-esque” rules in a disinctly Bucket-style accommodation and you might just have ‘The Boat Shed’.
The property was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Very well equipped and great location. Clean, tidy and the team were very efficient. Few feedback points - would be handy for outside lights to be left on for arrival, makes parking and finding lock box much easier. The Upstairs single toilet with sliding door blocks very easily - seems to be issue with flush/ pipes so we had to unblock it whilst there. The downstairs shower also floods very easily - water doesn’t drain quick enough
