We found Room 23 to clean, beautifully decorated and thought out, quirky, peaceful and with a lovely little garden to look out on and sit in, all the little cute touches in the garden were appreciated. The selection of teas and coffees was good and we especially enjoyed the complimentary chocolates. Location is good, you can walk to the beach and seafront, which we did, we swam in the sea and were lucky enough to watch a seal bobbing up and down for ages, loved that. Lots to do in the area. Recommend The Noisey Lobster, restaurant in Mudeford.
My partner and I stayed two nights at Bramble Hut for their birthday, and we had a wonderful time. The location is fantastic, and we loved being so close to nature. The Hut itself was perfectly equipped for our stay, and super comfortable. Of course, we enjoyed the hot tub - it was the perfect treat after a full day's activities in the New Forest. We really appreciated the extra touches too from the Hosts, and we definitely stay again in future.
This was our 4th stay at Seabiscuit we absolutely love it here. Perfect location, beautiful house, great pubs and restaurants on your doorstep. Lovely coastal walks. Everything you could want from a break in the forest.
A luxurious apartment (with parking) quietly situated in the coastal town of Highcliffe a short walk to an array of shops and cafés (try The Catch, fish and chip shop which is really good). Seashells is equipped with all the mod cons you would expect for a holiday stay and was immaculate throughout providing an excellent base to explore the New Forest and surrounding areas. I can highly recommend the walk along the beach from Highcliffe to Mudeford Quay as well as a visit to the Isle of Wight but do book the ferry ahead as it gets quite busy (it's about £100 return). While there try to visi...more
Beautiful House “Moonwood” every detail is taken into account. We went armed with all products for kitchen to bathroom nearly everything is supplied. It made for a lovely holiday with family from Canada. A wide range of ages everyone was more than happy. Excellent Kitchen very well stocked . We had one issue which was quickly solved with a direct phone contact with someone very pleasant. The Swim Spa pool was a huge success with children ages from 4 years to 12 years.Adults enjoyed too.. Barbecue, Pizza Oven we used gas and wood supplied. We hope to stay again in this beautiful house whi...more
Greenwood had everything we needed for a multi generation family holiday, and NFE service were excellent.
It was ‘Wow’ as soon as we walked through the door. This house has been very professionally designed inside and out. The ‘RalphLauren’ style courtyard was stunning. We almost lived out there in the shaded sun. (And I’m a garden designer!). The Kitchen Diner could host 10 comfortably to impress your friends for lunch. We only used one bedroom but the bed was very comfortable, plenty of storage and a super bathroom. Locally, everything was just a short walk away. Trains are easy to catch for days out, as is the Wightlink ferry service to the Isle of Wight. If we were 30 years younger ...more
Had a great stay at Tree Top House. A beautiful spacious house, well equipped, very clean in a lovely area. So close to Moors Valley Country park. Owner was really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
An excellent property and great service from New Forest Escapes and Grant. There is some car noise in the front bedroom at night, especially with the window open. Captain’s Row needs a 20 mph limit and a few speed bumps. Parking can be tricky at peak times, but Grant helpfully provides the parking clock. Overall though a great stay and would definitely use again and recommend. Thank you!
My family and eye spent an idyllic week's break at Saltwood. Milford-On-Sea is a charming village, lovely pubs, cafes and restaurants all in walking distance. Highly recommend Ray's Italian and the Gun Inn. So close to the sea and beach front for lovely walks back towards Lymington. The view of the Isle of White and Needles was fab too. Lymington and Christchurch are only a short drive away, for additional coastal scenery and restaurants. We had a very relaxing stay and would recommend Saltwood to family and others given its location and peaceful settings. Gary & family (West London)
We had a wonderful time and have booked to return next year. The one problem was the shower head in the second bathroom did not stay on the post.
Conveniently located off Lymington High Street, this property is very well appointed and spacious. We will probably come back.
Swallows cottage is a lovely house and one of the best equipped I have ever stayed in. Everyone’s needs have been considered and our party of 3 generations all loved staying there. The location is wonderful and there is so much to do in and around Lymington. Highly recommend Only slight improvement would be response times to emails
Lovely shepherds hut to make a nice weekend away and use as a base. Super clean and cosy with lovely attention to detail. All the info is on the listing but it was louder than we thought - although passenger trains might finish at about 11pm there were still trains passing through after that - maybe cargo trains. We could also hear the neighbours so at 3am someone was using a power tool and we could hear voices. I wouldn’t say this is a peaceful stay but the hosts put ear plugs in the hut.
Didn’t want to leave. Such a lovely place to stay, with everything close by. With James’s Martins restaurant near by it’s the perfect place to unwind
Can't fault the property at all except for the mattress in the main bedroom (right at the top of the stairs) Very soft / uncomfortable. Would return if this was replaced.
A great house lots of room and plenty to do despite the bad weather. The house was well equipped and there was lots of room for everyone.
We enjoyed a wonderful week in the new forest with extended family to celebrate my father's 70th birthday. The Coach House is brilliantly located for exploring the new forest and the south coast, and very well equipped for a group trip. The whole house is elegantly designed and very comfortable, with everything you could need. The children also enjoyed playing in the garden, and spotting deer from the bedroom windows at bedtime!
When families get together it’s so good to have the space to do things separately as well as together. Here we could have four different things going on at once with plenty of room. Especially good in the heat. The annex is great to have a separate space but quite cramped by being self contained.
Really beautiful location with lovely views and close to plenty of things to do (including the Nici Hotel, a pick-your-own farm and mini golf, all within walking distance). Great amenities, including a tennis court, games room, excellent BBQ, multiple fridges and dishwashers, and a good number of bathrooms. On particularly hot summer days, it is worth bringing a few fans, as the house does not have air conditioning.
A stand out property which was a truly incredible place to stay for a new forest holiday with our toddler. The house is stunning and has everything you could ever need to make your stay as easy as possible. Easy walking distance to Lymington high street and a really peaceful location with a beautiful garden. Thank you! New forest escapes was also very responsive and helpful.
We had the most wonderful time together in the New Forest, we had a lady of 87 with us in a wheelchair and we coped ok. I had my birthday BBQ there all was so easy to cook with all the equipment provided. The house is amazing , lots of things to do there, ping pong, football, basketball, lots of board games too. Jacuzzi was well used , and the gym , not so much the sauna as the weather was very hot while we were there. Thank you
Location stunning for mixed travellers, parking limited but 45sec walk from station. 4 of us, one motorbike, one car and two by train so absolutely ideal. Really is an easy stroll to town, restaurants etc. Pub next door handy if you arrive early (they do pizzas and have a car park)... But it is next door so audible outside. Comfort and standard very high but stairs to top bedroom very steep and no en suites upstairs. Downstairs very spacious with lots of different sitting areas inside and out, kitchen excellent. WiFi doesn't reach garden (which is spacious and very well equipped). I ha...more
We had a good stay at the Nest. The location is perfect for exploring the New Forest and it's so convenient for walking into Brockenhurst or to the train station. Although the Nest is a nice place to stay overall it's let down by lack of attention to detail. The sheets smelled musty and we had to wash the crockery in the kitchen before they felt clean enough to use. We were only left half a roll of toilet paper and we would have liked some shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. With a little more attention this could be a lovely place to stay.
This is our second time coming to stay at The Rotunda. We love it. It suits us perfectly with the beautiful Architecture, large rooms, shared pool, boating jetty, stunning gardens, steam train, two art galleries and three live concerts, the place is amazing. The added history of the site and wider area relating to the D-Day invasion, and the ancient history of the wider site, is wonderful. The only thing missing would be for the Rhododendrons to miraculously flower in August! We plan to visit the gardens again in Spring next year. Nick, Caroline, Leo and the wider family have all been v...more
We had an incredible stay at Oak Lodge. A gorgeous property, spotlessly clean, in the most fantastic location on a beautiful, quiet and shady lane. The property was very spacious, beautifully decorated and the garden and hot tub were real hits! An easy walk into Burley with easy access to forest walks, beaches and attractions. We would highly recommend and hope to return.
Lovely home, everything you could need would definitely recommend. Only thing that was a negative is the windows in the living room couldn’t open and someone came out but didn’t open it still, so was stuffy with the heat but other than that a lovely place to stay. Thank you will come again I’m sure x
Beautiful place near to beach and villages , perfect location. Lovely little touches in the house , extremely comfortable bed and everything you need to self cater . The reason I have given a 4 and not a 5 was some things needed attention like the courtyard which was very green and slippery when wet, lots of leaves which had been there a while could be swept up . Also although not a problem but no shower gel or shampoo which I would expect as standard for the price . Also kettle on stove needed descaling as lumps of scale was coming out . Just these small attention to details would make ...more
We had such a lovely time staying at Wood Haven. The house is gorgeous, really well-equipped and in a perfect location for exploring the New Forest. Perfect for families and big groups. We would definitely come back again!
A beautiful house in the perfect location. Close to great amenities yet on the doorstep of lovely walks and scenery. The ponies were a bonus. Will definitely return.
Had a great time the garden was much appreciated in the hot weather. Lots of fans in the house to keep us cool. The orangery is a beautiful feature was a delight to sit there. If you want a perfect holiday venue look no further.
We stayed at Furzedown farm house for three nights. Beautiful house and grounds with plenty of space for nine of us. Amazing things were the wildlife particularly all the wild birds not forgetting the peacocks and Guinea Fowl gracing us with their presence and choral displays. Amazing vistas from upstairs. Outside seating area excellent wity plenty of room. Pizza oven and bbq were great. We made full use of the kitchen and outside cooking facilities. Inside, the games room was interesting. We aren't really musicians but it would really appeal to kids who had a flair for music. Easy ...more
Lovely stay in a peaceful yet central location. Ideal for visiting the New Forest and further afield, such as the Isle of Wight.
A perfect house for 3 couples or a large family, with plenty of space to spread out. Fully equipped with everything you will need. 2 TV’s was a nice touch. A large fridge/freezer means you don’t need to go to the supermarket every day. The large folding doors to the garden, made evening meals very enjoyable.
A wonderful period house with a humungous extension and garden area to use . There were 5 of us staying and didn’t once feel under each others feet. You could always find a white room to chill out in or be sociable in the garden extension Kitchen , bathrooms and over cleanliness was fabulous
We stayed at Moo Cottage as a group of 6 friends (3 couples) for 3 nights. The property is really lovely and in a very peaceful spot. We had a great stay, but there were a few things which could have been better. Could have done with a lot more crockery and glasses, the towel rails in 2 of the bathrooms were left on full which made the rooms really hot. One of these wasn't easy to turn off as it wasn't obvious where the switch was. In the downstairs bedroom where I slept, the bedding had a few, what looked like, grease stains which were a bit off-putting. There was a bad ant infestation ...more
Lovely cottage - small, but perfectly formed and comfortable. Location was great for us, 10 minutes drive to Lymington in one direction and 10 minutes to Beaulieu and Buckler’s Hard in the other. Would definitely return.
We booked Little Nye independently from the main house which fortunately was empty during our stay. We very much enjoyed our visit, the location is great with walks on the doorstep and we loved the Gun Inn round the corner. However, although the description makes it clear this is an annexe, I don’t think we would have enjoyed it very much if the house had been occupied. Little Nye was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The decking and garden furniture could benefit from a refresh as could the bathroom cabinets and floor. New Forest Escapes customer service was exceptional.
I regularly take my grandchildren away and this house was perfect for them. Age between 7-11 (girls) the garden was great for all manner of games and the bonus was the cows in the field. The layout meant anyone cooking in the well stocked kitchen could engage with others outside easily. New forest Escapes were exceptionally efficient and charming. A truly lovely holiday
Just back from stay at Mulberry Lodge. Fabulous, quite luxurious holiday home with all you could wish for: huge tv, good appliances including dishwasher and tumble dryer, all bedrooms en suite. The garden is very large and includes a hot tub. A gentle hum of traffic from the road but it didnt bother us at all. Quite a secluded area. Would love to holiday here again.
We enjoyed our stay in Popsy Cottage a lot. We are regular visitors to the New Forest but try out a different location each visit. Sway was a great base for a week given its central location in the New Forest. The house was perfectly set up for a young family with lots of nice touches, including a stair gate, bath toys and children's cutlery and crockery. In particular our young son adored the basket of toys that had been left for him to play with.
We love the location, the accomodation and the New Forest and we travel each year from Switzerland to England to enjoy the scenery, view - simply everything. A fantastic and beautiful place to be.
This place was perfect for us. Well equipped and cosy. The support from the team was superb when we had an issue ( caused by us). Will definitely come back.
Superb house in a fantastic location. Very comfortable house, beautiful garden with amazing views. Walks direct from the door and great local pubs. Very well equipped and everything worked well. A little short on plates and bowls (sets of 8 for a party of 10) which made family meals interesting…. This was our second visit and we hope to be back again sometime.
A beautiful cottage that provided everything we could have asked for. Lovely coastal location, peaceful and pretty. Plenty of restaurants, shops and beach just a short walk from cottage. The cottage itself is spacious, comfortable and luxurious, with the added bonus of a hot tub! Our family of three generations came together to enjoy a wonderful holiday.
The week went well with great facilities and a big garden.Maybe a swimming pool would work well as there is plenty of garden to put it in
Fantastic position. Very handy for the beaches nearby and the ferry to Hurst Castle. We didn't paddle board but saw loads of boarders walking past to paddle off the Keyhaven beach. Also saw kite surfers. So this would be a great base for those pursuits. Crabbing at the "Crabbing Bridge" or the creek. Everything about the house was comfortable. It all ran smoothly, plenty of hot water for showers and baths after a day at the beach. We could imagine that the AGA being on all the time would be lovely in cooler times. (we were there in the heatwave, lots of open doors and windows to control the...more
A unique property in a beautiful location. Lovely grounds with a grass tennis court and direct access to the Beaulieu river Plenty of room inside with various bedrooms to suit families Highly recommend for an unforgettable stay
We enjoyed our stay in this well equipped modernised terraced house with three double bedrooms very close to the centre of Lymington. New Forest Escapes staff were very polite and welcoming and I would recommend them. Liked the modern kitchen layout with everything we needed as well as the living area and bedrooms. All beds were very comfortable. Appreciated all the tower fans in the heat! Cosy courtyard with nice garden furniture. Great to have a washing machine and tumble dryer. Very clean and no dog smell. Minor quibbles; pots and pans need replacing (worn teflon) and the access is not suit...more
I stayed in the upstairs section of Burley mews which is perfect for a couple. The location is tranquil with stunning walks on the doorstep or a short drive away. The cottage is clean with tasteful decor and well equiped. Thought has been given to every need including provision for a dog and a baby/toddler. Nick was very helpful and responsive to my enquiries. I would highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at Sway corner. We were a group of 2 couples and 3 small children. The cottage benefits from having 2 en suite bedrooms and a further main bathroom, which really suited our group. Very comfortable beds with good quality cotton bedding and sheets. Very well equipped large kitchen and 2 sitting rooms. Everything very clean and tidy. Good location with a short walk into sway where there are a couple of pubs, grocery shops and a great swing park which our grandchildren loved. Couldn’t find the cottage using the postcode so recommend using ‘what3 words’. All in all, a...more
We had a lovely three-night stay in Nutshell Cottage. The property is beautifully designed, with clever use of glass and mirrors to make the most of the space. It was spotlessly clean, well equipped and perfectly located close to the town centre. The parking clock worked really well, allowing us to park close by and also in other council car parks in the area. We had no trouble finding space right outside to unload etc. We would book again without hesitation!
We've just returned from a fantastic week at forest cottage. This was our third stay, it's the only holiday cottage we've ever returned to. The cottage has bags of character, lovely gardens and you can walk to beaulieu heath without using your car. It's also well set back from the main road, so all you can hear are the birds singing. The village pub is a 10 minute walk, Lymington a 10 minute drive. We love it, will certainly be returning in the future.
We had a wonderful stay at Thatched Hat Cottage, which is just as picturesque as the photos suggest. The garden is beautiful, full of flowers and greenery, and my 3 year old had a lot of fun exploring. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen for cooking meals. Comfortable beds and spacious living area for gathering. Perfect location for exploring the New Forest with many walks and pubs nearby. We also really enjoyed meeting Fiona and would love to return when visiting the area again.
Nice house and nice location with plenty to do. Stayed with children and having some toys to play with and something to watch was a great idea. Looking forward to the next visit!
Little Exbury has the most fabulous location. The most beautiful views from the front of the cottage and the back; a bright & colourful place to stay. Inside was mostly presented very well but unfortunately the freezer had some food crumbs in it and the cutlery had been put away not completely clean. This could have been down to the tight turnaround in occupants; however these attention to detail points do matter. The mattress in the master bedroom also needs replacing - it is unsupportive & not very comfortable. The attention to detail also needed to spread into the garden & patio a...more
Beautiful cottage with a large garden, the kids loved running around and playing in it. The garden that is. The cottage was a great size to accommodate the family and everything we needed was at hand. The area has plenty of things for a family of mixed ages to do. Thank you.
The house itself is extremely beautiful, the furnishing is straight from a magazine and it’s equipped very well. However, there were some important issues which did worsen our stay. The garden is absolutely not secure - along one long side the fence is around a foot off the ground meaning any small or medium dog can just walk out. There are also some large holes leading directly only a well used country road. Also, we asked in advance if there were fans as it was in a heatwave. We were told there were fans and AC in the attic. The latter was untrue and the attic was so much warmer than...more
Most enjoyable stay. Loved the location. Hugh standard kitchen. Bed very cosy. Would have been happier with some soap/ shampoo products in shower room and more than one loo roll. And please get those hooks in the entrance replaced. And add some more in the bedroom maybe? Also garden needed attention. But having said all that we had a great stay.
A lovely property in a great position, albeit on a fairly busy road. Everything that we needed was supplied and the house was extremely well equiped. Tidy and clean, very professionally set up and all we could have hoped for. The private slipway with direct access to the river was a great feature, as was the hot tub.
Our party of 6 including a 4,8, 10 and 77 year old had the most wonderful week at the lodge! The house is position 10 mins from the forest and 10 mins from the beach meaning we could visit both in the same day. In between our trips out we made the most of the pool which entertained the children for hours… our golden Retriver puppy had the time of her life exploring the area and the lodge has everything you need to facilitate your dog! It was comfortable and cosy inside! We will definitely be back!
The house was lovely and we enjoyed making the most out of the outdoor space. Eating dinner in the covered area and then playing games. The games room, pool and jacuzzi were great additions to the holiday and a 15 minute walk took you to the centre of town. A wardrobe in the downstairs bedroom would help rather than the ladder with hangers. The only real negative was the very poor WiFi network, the website said this was good but I was unable to work and one of the party had an interview whilst there which kept disconnecting.
Our stay at the old church was unique and wonderful overall. The whole building has been tastefully renovated to give all the rooms modern appliances whilst still maintaining the original features. The hot tub was excellent, as was the rest of the outdoor space, with lights at night to make taking the dogs out last thing a breeze. The only mild criticism we were not prepared for was the road traffic noise all through the night. I was sleeping in the large bedroom upstairs and with the windows open (as it was summer) the traffic passing was constant. This may have been due to several road closu...more
Perfect escape - great space and terrace in a sunny private quiet spot. Excellent cooking facilities, storage and plenty of hot water. Was too hot and sunny to consider using the wood burner. Glad there was a fan Lovely items in a welcome pack and books / magazines available to peruse. Did have a small problem which was managed pretty well A few more hooks / freestanding clothes dryer would be helpful for beach and shower towels
The Cottage is beautiful and full of character with lots of lovely features. Unfortunately our stay was affected by the poor cleanliness. Upon arrival my Daughter pulled her Duvet back and the white bedding had lots of stains. Our bed had two yellow stains on and most of the towels had brown marks on which to me looked like old make-up stains. Personally I think the cottage needs a deep clean it is the cleanliness that let the Cottage down.
We had a lovely 5 night break with 3 generations at this property. The weather was fantastic and we were able to enjoy the swimming pool and hot tub. Its located conveniently within the forest with pubs, shops, supermarkets no more than 10 minutes away. We met the owner Peter who sent us a bottle of champagne which was a very kind gesture.
