Our family of 4 and another family of 3 shared the Walled Garden for an August vacation. The house and grounds are incredible, with apple trees and glorious views at all times of day. It was a perfect location for a variety of day trips. And instead of going out to pubs and restaurants, we opted to grill venison and lamb steaks every night, sourced from the local Macdonald Bros Butchers in Aberfeldy, and roasted vegetables in the gorgeous Aga stove. With two rooms on opposite sides of the house, it is the ideal set-up for two families. A wonderful home in an ideal location.
We’ve just returned from our stay at Croftness Cottage over the Christmas week and it’s safe to say that neither of us wanted to leave. The cottage is in a lovely quiet location just above the town of Aberfeldy but only a 10 minute walk to the centre, where you can either get something to eat and drink or buy essentials at the Co-Op. Our favourites are the Habitat Cafe in the square, who do a fantastic burger and also MacDonald Brothers Butchers who sell great venison pies. The cottage itself retains its original charm but has been tastefully modernised to make it extremely comfortable a...more
Wonderful hosts and a wonderfully private location. The accommodation has been built and specced to very high standards and we wanted for absolutely nothing. Without a doubt we will visit again next year. Suzanne was so respectful of our privacy but was always on hand for advice and help where needed.
Saorsa is a fantastic property overlooking Loch Tay. The house is beautifully furnished and contains everything you need to make your stay easy. I loved the box of dog goodies that you could use if you had forgotten anything for your poochies. The entrance to the property is a great place for drying off dogs and humans if it rains. We had a bit of trouble with the front & garden doors, but soon got the hang of them - you need to put some pressure on the door when using the key (just a wee tip). The garden is a great size and fully enclosed with BBQ. Unfortunately we didn’t have the best weathe...more
After several years of visiting this area and staying in holiday homes this is definitely one of the best we have stayed in! The views are breathtaking, you would never tire of them. The house was very well presented and so well equipped. We were in love with the kitchen, there was nothing the owners had not thought of. The beds were all very comfortable and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Angela is a very helpful and friendly manager, we would not hesitate to recommend this house and her company. We will definitely book Tullichuil again.
Excellent base to explore Perthshire & beyond. Very quiet & secluded, in a beautiful spot only 5 minutes drive from Aberfeldy Town centre. Pitlochry /Dunkeld train stations only 20/25 minutes drive away. Accommodation is high quality & perfect for solo travellers or couples. Great host Robert, very friendly & informative. I have stayed in many self-catering cottages & The Wee Cosy Nook is by far one of the best, would not hesitate to stay here again.
We loved our stay here next to Loch Tay. It was so relaxing to sit out on the balcony and just look at the water. We also enjoyed walking down the jetty, and playing in the rocks on the little beach. The location was perfect for exploring the local area. We can't wait to go back! The house itself was ideal for our family of 4, with multiple bathrooms, and washer/dryer and dishwasher all available, as well as a very comfortable lounge/dining area upstairs. On our trip around Scotland, this was our favourite place to stay.
Sit back and relax. You could never be disappointed with this property. Fantastic facilities.. lovely view.. everything to a high spec.. and excellent value. We loved it. Brill location. This is 9.5 out of 10
Another lovely stay at Puccini cottage . Extremely comfortable , a delightful place to stay in a spectacular location
Upsides: Stunning view from lounge window, kitchen well equipped Bathrooms clean and well equipped Plenty of DVDs, books and games Lovely and quiet Great customer service from Perthshire Holiday Homes Room for improvement: Too little space for storing food TV needs updating really Sofas a bit low
Plus points: Views of the loch were stunning Upside down house, which was well laid out and spacious Well decorated. Loads of parking Everything we needed including some games Damage deposit returned promptly Bathrooms very usable and clean. Negatives; The £150 booking fee is steep! The beds are doubles not king-size - we thought both double rooms would have really benefitted from longer wider beds. For an upside down house there is little insulation between the floors so you can hear every step from the living area. Needs internal recycling bins.
We had a great stay at Mo Dachaidh for a week. The manager was so helpful and swiftly responded to our requests to change some of the items in the kitchen. The garden is beautiful and well maintained. The views all around the house are simply stunning and scenic. We'll worth the money.
This was our 2nd visit to Verdi Cottage, we were there last year as well. The cottage is really nice and in really good condition. My wife and I wondered if it the condition would be as good as the first visit and I I can happily confirm it is. The one area where improvement could be made is the broadband service. There is 2 broadband options available. The password for 1 does not work and the other gives no connection. There is also Netflix in the cottage but as the broadband is bad then Netflix does not work.
We have a great time at Kirkland’s. Enough space for 2 families with teenage children and adults to have time together and separately. Outdoor space great... kids enjoyed the Astro turf and basketball. Games room provided us all with a lot of fun. Walks into aberfeldy and around the area were enjoyed by all especially the dogs.
The house and its position sell themselves and that is why we keep coming back. Added to this is the excellent service from all the staff on the estate and the manager and their concern to make our stay comfortable. They respond to the inevitable snags in a timely way. We don't look for the Homes and Gardens touches [scatter cushions that we don't know what to do with and don't need] just somewhere clean, comfortable and well-equipped to relax and entertain our friends.
Just a couple of issues with beds and barbecue but a lovely home well furnished and equipped. Perhaps needs a bit more landscaping.
Very clean and comfortable apartment and a superb base for exploring the surrounding area, Perthshire and the highlands.Great eating places with quality food and friendly service. Aberfeldy has everything, great walks(eg. Birks of Aberfeldy on the doorstep) and the superb River Tay, good eating places, superb local cinema and a great base for sightseeing. We will return and would certainly recommend to others.
Cottage was well equipped and clean. Located in a very quiet area in the town of Kenmore. Nice walks along the river Tay starting from the house. Well prepared information about the house and points of interest available in the house. Recommended improvement: Both, SAT-Receiver and DVD-Player are connected to the modern Flat TV by SCART connectors, thus switching the connectors is required to change between SAT and DVD. A small investment in a new DVD player with HDMI connector would solve the issue.
Bay Tree cottage is a great get-away cottage, rural but easily accessible to the interesting town of Dunkeld, the A9 and numerous walking opportunities. There is a good sized kitchen/dining area and 2 sitting rooms. The bedrooms are nicely furnished and the beds are comfortable. There is a pretty garden with options for outside eating and straight out of door options for dog walking. The steps down from the lane into the back garden and the bathroom are fine for active oldies but could be an issue for someone with walking difficulties. There are plenty of options for eating locally in Dunkeld...more
