Newly built luxury lodge with beautiful views. Sona Brae sleeps 4 and is dog friendly. There is a king room and a twin room and family shower room. Open plan living space which open on to an enclosed balcony.

The location of the lodge was up a very steep gravel road, very easy to slip. Lodge wooden floor was filthy and very sticky which indicated it was not washed clean. The mop in the cleaning cupboard ought to have been binned, the sponge mop was black with dirt! There was a problem with the bathroom door which jammed and we could not get it open, hard lines if you needed the toilet urgently, it took us some time to free the door in order to use the loo! The veranda with tables and chairs was very dirty, the floor hadn’t been swept and the tables and chairs were mucky and not worth sitting there to enjoy the Forest view. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, no good nights sleep was had. To claim the lodge was dog friendly was, as a dog owner and lover, could not have been further from the truth. There was no dog poo bins in sight. I felt very unsafe walking within the grounds of the holiday lodges especially when light was fading as the outside lighting was inadequate and the slippy gravel paths up a steep hill added to this. We had booked in for three nights, we didn’t last twenty four hours and returned home the day after we arrived.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We were very sorry to learn—only after your departure—that you were unhappy with your stay and chose to leave early. We take concerns about cleanliness and maintenance extremely seriously, so we were particularly disappointed that you did not contact us during your stay. Had we been made aware of any concerns about the floor, veranda or bathroom door, we would have arranged for these to be inspected and addressed promptly. We have a very experienced and trusted cleaner responsible for this lodge, and the consistently excellent cleanliness feedback we receive from other guests makes your comments especially surprising. Nevertheless, we have taken them seriously and reviewed the issues raised. For clarification, the steepest section of the access route is concrete rather than gravel. The site contains approximately 30 lodges and is a well-established, popular holiday location. While parts of the approach are steep, we regularly visit the properties ourselves and do not recognise the route as excessively slippery or unsafe. We manage two individual lodges rather than the wider site, so facilities such as dedicated dog-waste bins and communal lighting are outside our control. However, general waste bins are available on the site and securely bagged dog waste can be disposed of in them. The lodge is described as dog-friendly because dogs are welcomed in the property and we even provide a dog welcome box with treats, towel, blanket, lead, bowl and poo bags; this does not mean that we control every facility across the wider site. We appreciate that comfort can be subjective, and we are sorry that the beds were not to your preference. We genuinely want every guest to enjoy their stay, and it is regrettable that we were given no opportunity to investigate or resolve your concerns while you were there.

Lovely comfortable lodge with wonderful views in a great location. Definitely recommend

Sona Brae is just lovely. The views are fabulous and little beats sitting on the deck watching the evening sun create magic on the hills in the distant valley. The decking is part covered so you can sit out and enjoy the views whether it's dry or not. Internally it is really comfortable with only 2 minor observations. The shower is powerful but the towels are so small - fine for children or very small adults but not for more averaged sized adults! The double bed is really comfortable but, if you prefer a softer pillow, I recommend taking your own. That said, we would definitely stay there again.

Sona Brae is a lovely lodge that is well furnished and very comfortable with stunning views. It's a 20 minute walk into Aberfeldy or a short drive and there are several good restaurants there. We had a very relaxing stay and will definitely consider coming back in the future.

Great place to stay. Clean and comfortable and lots of hot water for showers! The latter were much needed after cold and wet days outdoors.

Aberfeldy is a lovely area to explore and use as a base for your adventures.
The lodge itself was nicely presented and modern with all the essentials available. We stayed 2 weeks so a change of bed linen after week one would have been nice, but we washed it ourselves once we figured out how to use the washer-dryer. The offer was not made although I suppose, we should have asked. No biggie.
The smelly plug-ins were a real issue so we unplugged and hit them outside - the smell from them was quite oppressive so they had to go!
The August afternoon sun heated the main room up to the mid 30's, even with all the blinds down during the day. If the bedroom doors were kept shut, at least they were cool. If the doors and windows were opened to cool the main room down, we had flies come in. Pity screening was not available on at least some windows.
The very steep gravel track from the main road up to the lodges is an adventure, but our rental Qashqai managed it each day without too much wheel spin.
Lodge 15 was the perfect size for the two of us. Overall, a very nice place to come back to at the end of each day.

We booked a long weekend at Sona Brae and it didn't disappoint. I have been holidaying in Aberfeldy for 50 years, and feel like it is my second home. We will certainly be back again. (After Christmas hopefully)
Ideal location 1 mile from the town centre. Stunning views across the valley, and the lodge was simply wonderful. Everything had been thought of. There was even milk in the fridge when we arrived so that we could have a much needed cup of tea after our 6 hour journey.

Again a lovely stay, myself and a friend enjoyed the tranquility, the view and nearby village restaurants were great. The lodge is clean, inviting and a lovely comfortable stay.
My friend is an artist and the verander was great to sit out and be creative, painting the views of the valley. Great place to craft with fab beautiful views. I would highly recommend staying.

Sona Brae is a great spot. This is the second time we have stayed there. Very comfortable, homely accommodation with everything you need. Good beds, a great view and perfect location from which to explore Aberfeldy and Loch Tay.

We had a lovely few days at Sona Brae. Had an issue with the lock at first but phoned the contact number we had and was giving some pointers which worked. Kitchen was well equipped and lodge has a luxury feel to it, the electric blinds where great. . Views were stunning and area was very peaceful. Aberfeldy was a short walk and area is dog friendly. Our dog loved his holiday especially watching the pheasants roaming about just outside the lodges. Although the door was a bit of a pain we would definitely go back.

We enjoyed a fantastic week at Sona Brae. The lodge is in a beautiful location just a short walk from Aberfeldy and within easy reach of some amazing walks.
Sona Brae is modern and very tastefully furnished with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a lovely powerful shower, We loved sitting on the balcony watching the sunset, then heading indoors and lighting the log burner, which was very much appreciated by our dog.
Our favourite walk was Kenmore Hill and we also loved the Birks of Aberfeldy and the slightly more challenging Munro Schiehallion, all only a short drive away.
Aberfeldy has a good bakery and butcher and the Glen Lyon cafe serves amazing coffee. There’s also a distillery a short walk away.
A wonderful base for a very relaxing holiday and we would love to return.

Tried to speak with the point of contact on the day of arrival. Despite leaving message no one came back to me until after I arrived. Fairly new property which still has a few snags. I was unable to unlock the door on arrival and had to enlist the help of a neighbour who explained this was an ongoing problem. The drive up to the property still needs sorting. I have a 4x4 so was ok, but smaller cars may skid a bit. The property was chilly when I arrived. I was later advised the heating comes on twice a day, but felt inadequate at the level set. The instructions said do not change. Glad I’d taken my hot water bottle! There was no kitchen waste bin so I had to use a bedroom bin. This was a mystery to both the cleaners and customer service. The wall clock was on the floor- another mystery! Crumbs under coffee table/sofa and in fridge.
Having said all this, the views are great and it is peaceful and, apart from the above, the property seemed very clean. The bed was very comfy. Good location to drive around in the area but a longer walk into Aberfeldy than I expected. The snags will be addressed quickly, I hope. On this basis I can recommend this property

We all enjoyed our break lovely lodge. The only problem was we were not able to use the kettle it needs replacing as it has had corrosion at the bottom. Would not hesitate to book again. The road leading up to lodge was a bit of a challenge by car and walking.

Lovely, clean and comfortable stay. The view is stunning, the outdoor decking area was great with the large opening doors. Spent my evenings with the doors open and watching the sun go down.
Great facilities and parking outside the lodge. I would highly recommend staying here. Plenty of walking trails, nearby watersports hub and Aberfeldy town a short walk away. Perfect to use as a base to venture further into the highlands.
I would stay here again.

Modern lidge with full glass frontage. Taking in a beautiful vista. Dog friendly, our 2 Scotties sat out on the full length balcony, most of our stay. Plenty walks and places to eat, but mostly we relaxed and dozed and felt so much at home. The road needs attention, it's fairly steep and loose road metal. But wouldn't stop us going back.
