Had a great stay in this cosy farmhouse. Would always recommend! Very cosy living room. We had a baby with, enjoyed every second of it.

We had a wonderful family holiday staying at La Grange - my parents, and our family of four (two children 6 and under). The house (and the site in general) is beautiful, well maintained and well equipped, and the surrounding countryside is absolutely idyllic. We enjoyed cycling along the river and the kids loved the pool and exploring the enormous garden! We found our way to lots of local attractions through the very helpful guestbook, such as the markets and a medieval living history museum, and the wonderfully varied beaches of South Brittany were easily accessible for a day trip. Eight of our family stayed to celebrate my birthday. It was an eventful birthday! We had the storm on Friday which brought down power lines. Greg contacted us immediately to offer best options. We decided to go the following day early to still take advantage of the lovely cottage. Unfortunately the electric was on/ off still so charades by torchlight was an experience! The cottage is beautiful with all amenities that you could want. In fact if we can find a weekend we are all available we will be visiting again soon!
We spent 3 nights at hardknott cottage. All the pre-arrival information and directions were very detailed. The cottage was spotless and well equipped, in a delightful setting. We enjoyed several walks suggested by Gregg, the owner. It was clear that he and his team were very keen to make sure we had a special stay. The local pub, only a few steps away, serves good beer and food, and several lovely walks start from the hamlet of Boot. We couldn't recommend the cottages more highly and will definitely return in the future.
A gorgeous cottage in a lovely setting. Excellent communications and care of the cottage. Nit picking, I would say that for the price I would have expected, some things we usually find as standard in other up market rentals, such as a decent size chopping / bread board, cling film and tin foil. The dishwasher also required rinse aid and salt. Yes, fairly trivial, and didn't take too much away from the overall stay, which we enjoyed.
Hard to see from the pictures but unit is very small with little or no outlook, otherwise very comfortable although the small lounge upstairs could do with a puffe or similar . Externally needs a tidy up , broken flower pots and old junk in full view of only view window in kitchen , just needs a tidy up . Position is perfect , two pub on door step and magic walks.
