It’s always a joy to return to this amazing cottage.so Peaceful with lovely gardens full of Spring flowers and if the weather is poor there are dozens of interesting books to enjoy. We will be returning in four weeks time to enjoy our 58 th wedding anniversary.
A stunning cottage in a great location. Easy access to places of interest. The owl cam was a bonus!!!
This will be in our return destination. Absolutely amazing and by far our favourite break ever! It was lovely to meet John on arrival. Accommodation is cosy and attention to detail first class and the welcome hamper much appreciated. We spent a relaxing weekend recharging our batteries and could have stayed forever. The Old Brewery Apartments in York are also top notch if you fancy a City break. Congratulations to the Foster family as they have nailed self catering perfectly.
Perfect hideaway. The accommodation wants for nothing - clean, warm, inviting, well equipped, and tastefully decorated. The area was unknown to us but we found the secluded beaches and cliff-top walks just stunning.
A pleasant and cosy farm-house conversion plus extension building with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The owners are very nice and helpful so your stay will be supported by them as and when you need them. Inside the cottage (The Spinney), it was very tidy and clean and well decorated throughout. The log burner was a superb, so very soul soothing. You can fill up with logs which are stored in an outbuilding made of wood, similar to what people go 'glamping' in. There are some decent local pubs however its probably bets to drive but it's just a mile or two into the local v...more
Our forth visit to Hind's cottage perfect accommodation perfect location and more than perfect hosts in Angela John and James. we even had beautiful weather in January just a few reasons why we keep returning.
Very nice apartment, clean, comfortable and in great condition. Fabulous location with parking, just minutes from Minster and all of York’s many restaurants and cafes. A welcome hamper and courtesy phone call from owner were much appreciated. Definitely would return and recommend.
Excellent long weekend in York. The Hopstore exceeded our expectations. Great location, and apartment was beautifully presented . Would definitely book again.
My family and I have just returned from a week away in York. The location of the property is perhaps its strongest point; York Minster, The Shambles, Jorvik Viking Centre, York Castle Museum and The Yorkshire Museum (not to be missed) are all within a 15 minute walk. Plenty of places to eat out and a Tesco within 10 minutes walk. The drive in is easy though parking can be a bit tight if other guests are .... eccentric in how they position their cars. Quiet (very), and one of the most comfortable places we have stayed; having a good sized kitchen table is really helpful for those days when ...more
We have had a thoroughly relaxing time at The Roost and can't recommend the properties on site enough. The cottages are comfortable, warm and cosy (just what we wanted over the cold New Year) and well equipped with everything you might need. The Roost provides a range of information outlining some local walks and and information about the farm itself and its development over time - fascinating stuff to be honest. This has been a great base from which to explore the local area and we have returned home feeling relaxed and rejuvenated for the year ahead.
Fantastic cottage offering everything we needed with 3 children. Beautiful location not far from town. Friendly & welcoming. Kids loved being on the farm and meeting the animals. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely time in this cottage which is like new. Location is remote but great access to Filey and Scarborough coast.
everything was just perfect, the cottage, everything was in there that you could possibly need. great attention to detail
Despite Storm Dennis raging outside, we were cosy and comfortable for our stay at the Old Dairy. The open-plan living area is well-designed and the kitchen space has everything that you need for a staying-in weekend. We managed a couple of walks, to Flamborough and to Bempton, in between the rain and gusts, and the cosy accommodation was very welcoming when we returned, rather wind-blown. We were happy to stay in with our books, and there is an extremely efficient internet service if reading is not your thing. We couldn't think of a better place to weather the storms. Thanks!
Stayed at this property over New Year 2019/20. Very relaxing location. All was good aside from a problem with the dishwasher, however the owners even offered to do our dishes! The only downside is that this cottage really doesn't have any outlook to speak of. Many windows have frosted glass to avoid you staring out at nothing other than agricultural buildings.
