Everything was picture-perfect and we had a really lovely, relaxing time. We felt privileged to be staying on Field House Farm and couldn't help commenting daily on how quiet and peaceful it was! The location was amazingly close to the beautiful, chalky coastline, seaside towns and stately homes so there is something for everyone.
From the minute we walked through the door of The Hayloft we knew that we were in for a treat. It was such a pleasure to stay in accomodation that had been designed, equipped and maintained to such a high standard. We loved the furnishings, decor, and equipment whilst the information about how High Barn had been converted, along with the history of Field House Farm and the Foster family gave us a sense of connection with our surroundings. Happy to be back at the Owl House. Stayed here many times and will continue to do so. Everything is provided for you either for a short weekend break or a week’s stay. The hamper provided is always welcome. Clean and comfortable with seating outside to enjoy the peacefulness of the surroundings. I am sure we will return again.
The best designed and equipped holiday cottage we could have imagined. My 91 year old Mum could be wheeled in with her wheelchair and used a walking frame to move around inside. A high level toilet seat was provided and the ensuite wetroom and shower seat made showering easy. An armchair made her comfy in the living area. Cottage up to expectations, well decorated and furnished. Good welcome pack with basics provided. Quiet location and area around cottages well maintained. Close to the stunning cliffs at Flamborough Head and Bempton. Provision of EV charger very convenient for us, and one of the reasons we chose High Barn. Would book again without hesitation if revisiting area.
Amazing apartment -really high standard and very clean and comfortable. The basket of treats was a lovely touch and we really enjoyed the muesli and marmalade (not together!). Great communication from owners when I had a query and easy to find and to park. Minutes away from the minister and lovely to be able to park the car and leave whilst we explored everything which is within easy distance. We ventured out to explore Whitby Abbey and town which was lovely. Quiet part of town but minutes away from great bars, cafes and restaurants. Would highly recommend
So many superlatives to describe this apartment - very comfortable beds, ample storage, well equipped kitchen, mezzanine very good use of space, very relaxing. To top this off, everything was exceptionally clean and sparkling. The apartment was very convenient for the whole of York and the parking space helped enormously. The welcome hamper was excellent and the app we were given access to prior to our stay proved to be very helpful and informative. I have no hesitation in recommending The Brew House.
The cottage was clean and very comfortable , nicely furnished. Well equipped kitchen . Lovely property on small farm. Very quiet location , would definitely come again. Especially great location for RSPB Bempton cliffs and other wildlife areas , Flamborough head etc
I have no hesitation in giving top marks throughout. We have returned to Fieldhouse Farm for a good many years. The Fosters maintain the highest of standards year on year. Such a pleasure and reassurance ,and my family and I are always eager to rebook as we have already done so for next year.
This is the third time that we have stayed with John and his family at there amazing cottages. The cottages have absolutely everything you need to enjoy the lovely area. A bonus is being able to charge the car on site. thank you.
Lovely spacious cottage, everything you needed was there. John Angela and staff always on hand if you need them, nothing too much trouble for them. Lovely and quite . Lovely location to get to other holiday destinations. Would recommend to other people. We will back.
Lovely apartment in an excellent location. Welcome basket perfect. Beds and bedding high quality. We experienced a drain smell from the downstairs bathroom which worsened over the weekend. The cleaners didn’t smell this before or after our stay. The window in the master bedroom couldn’t be opened fully to help elevate the smell because of scaffolding. We didn’t feel our concern was taken seriously or professionally and was dismissed as the Minster’s issue .According to the problem book in the property, the drain smell have been an issue in April and May.
Having stayed at Heritage Escapes for many years we enjoy the peace and quiet of the accommodation, and the interesting wildlife, the pheasant strutting by, the crows wheeling over the trees, bats along the hedge, and of course the barn owls on Channel 800 on tv give us all great pleasure. The ease of being able to choose destinations to visit make this an ideal place to stay
We love Field House Farm, and The Byre is a lovely cottage with gorgeous views over the farm and fields. The children are well catered for with a small playground, table tennis, a football paddock and a trampoline. There is even an electric charger for us to keep the car topped up with power for our trips near the coast. We will be back soon!
Lovely property, brilliant location for visiting Bempton and excellent comms. The courtyard situation won’t suit some as close to others and communal play areas which if sensitive to noise is disturbing.
