We've stayed at FHF/HB mnay times over the last few years and due to the very high standard of the location and accomodation we will continue to return.
This was our tenth year staying in properties at High barn and as usual it didn’t disappoint. Very high quality accommodation, in an idyllic, secure location. We would highly recommend High Barn.
Excellent accommodation, fully equipped, close to local coop, and to all local attractions - which are mostly nature reserves, but if you are staying at Farnborough Head, that's what you are after. Nesting owls improve experience without a doubt - what an unique chance to observe them both on their nest, and outside. We had a great stay.
This is our third stay with Heritage Escapes at High Barn over a period of 6 years. As always the accommodation is immaculate. The upkeep of the facilities is carefully monitored and managed so that the standards by the owners are kept to their highest - which is 5 star from us. The location is peaceful and attractions around this area are easy to get to. We enjoyed our stay enormously and will definitely return in the future.
My husband & I have recently spent 2 nights at the Spinney at High Barn., East Yorkshire. We were thrilled when we arrived at our cottage. It was so homely & welcoming. The cottage was decorated to a high standard & had everything a family could wish for, Included books & games. We enjoyed watching the Owl Cam on TV which was a lovely additional feature the bungalow had to offer. We had a seat out the front & table & chairs out the back which was next to a pond. Loved the apartment and its location. Everything on the doorstep. Very well equipped. Would definitely have a return visit.
Especially in winter we like this cottage. Although the cottage is very well heated throughout we do like a coal fire occasionally so that is why we booked Hinds. Cottage this time. It is so relaxing too to sit in the conservatory which is so peaceful. Not long until we are booked at Field House with four cottages for all our family. We enjoy these special times together and always receive a lovely welcome from the Owners, John, Angela and James.
Our third stay at YOB, but first time at the Hop Store. Brilliant as always and appreciated the thoughtful welcome hamper. The beauty of this property is the location, being a stone’s throw away from and with views of the Minster. Great to have secure parking included too. We will be back for sure.
Always such a warm, friendly welcome from John, Angela and James. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you. As with previous stays at the cottages, Ostlers Corner was clean and comfortable and perfect for the 3 of us. Our granddaughter loved the play area and particularly the trampoline. She didn’t want to leave. The location was perfect for us for the beach and Sewerby Hall which was a lovely day out with their Easter activities. We will definitely be returning.
Everything was very good. A lot of consumables were provided also ideal for us as we only had three days.
Having been a previous user of heritage escapes I have been used to the high barns part, this cottage is just as good
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Malt House. It was clean, well equipped and comfortable with a real home from home feel. The gorgeous welcome hamper was very much appreciated. It is perfectly located for exploring York with everything just on your doorstep yet the property itself was so quiet. The parking was an added bonus and extremely secure. Thank you for such a wonderful stay, we will definitely be returning.
As a returner to Heritage Escapes FHF we can only reiterate what we’ve said previously. We stayed in The Byre for the first time this time and had a thoroughly enjoyable break. We slept better than we do at home in the incredibly comfortable bed, with great pillows. I never seem to get it right at home regardless of how much I spend on pillows. All the cottages we’ve stayed in, across the two sites, have been beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, a real home from home and if there is ever an issue the HE team are quick to sort it. This was the first time our American friend has been abroad, so his impressions of the UK has left him overwhelmed with the comfort of the cottage, and the views including the owls above owlhouse and the wildlife on Flamborough head
Been to this collection of holiday cottages before. Always very pleased with the accommodation and the host.
