The Ty Mawr Collection consists of 5 x stunning cottages in the grounds of Ty Mawr a Georgian mansion. In the heart of the Brecon Beacons, the cottages consist of The laundry , The Dairy, The Coach, The Bothy and The Cottage.
This was a third time at Ty Mawr and again another excellent stay. The laundry is a most relaxing cottage with everything you need.
The dog walking park is a secure dog’s paradise.
Alexandra and Peter are great hosts and make your stay enjoyable.
Our second time at one of these cottages so we knew exactly what to expect - and this was why we were keen to visit again. Arguably the best quality cottages we have stayed in across the UK and in a lovely part of the world. They are very high spec, cosy, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Every little detail has been thought of and provided - if there is anything they haven't thought of then the owners are on hand to help and make sure your stay is as good as possible. We bring our dogs and it is a great part of the world to explore the countryside, and we enjoyed a walk into Brecon al...more

Beautiful bathroom and bath was a bonus after a long day of walking. The garden was amazing, our dogs loved exploring and such a tranquil place to sit and have breakfast/dinner. We found the walk to the Royal Oak along the canal from the cottage was longer than anticipated and not so good along the road to start, although we did find a short cut back along a quiet narrow road which was a bonus.
I booked this holiday after an internet search and reading the excellent reviews.
It certainly lived up to it’s reputation. There was nothing I could fault about it and, in my opinion, nothing that needs improvement. I loved it.
The cottage is large & well furnished. The location is nice but you have to negotiate a very narrow walled driveway to enter. Llanfrynach village is pleasant enough but a real shame the pub has been closed for several years now & still listed in the advert for Ty Mawr.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but the cottage is let down by minor issues: bulbs out, dodgy dimmer switches, poorly fitting front door, extractor fan not working and as many other reviews have mentioned: impossible to shave in the bathroom as the light is so poor, it just needs a light over the mirror.
Its a great location for e...more
