This is a most outstanding rural retreat. The real wood burner, the hot tub, the aspect, the furnishings, the geese, the warm welcome are all above and beyond and worthy of 5*. It is a location that requires car access which is my only mark down but this is so insignificant as to not be considered as a whole.
The owners are doing a very good job at keeping this as lovely as the first time we visited.
The Cow Barn was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The peaceful setting was perfect, yet close enough to nearby amenities. And the thoughtful touches from Sylvia made us feel very welcome. We had a lovely stay and would definitely return.
We had an amazing time over New Year's, spending two nights in Orchard Barn. We were greeted by our hosts, who welcomed us and explained everything, then left us to our own devices, but were always on call should we need any help. The barn itself is easy to find, immaculately maintained, and in stunning surroundings. On arrival, we were met with a bottle of champagne, fresh eggs, milk, and a delicious cake.
Our stay was cosy and comfy, and very relaxing. A short drive takes you across the border into Cornwall, and we had a great time exploring a few landmarks, including Tintagel Castle. On...more
