We stayed in Heron cottage which was of a very high standard, well equipped, comfortable beds, good showers. Lovely little courtyard to sit outside when the weather decided to be kind. The grounds were lovely and it was peaceful at night. We found the cottage really well placed to explore the area and lots within an easy drive. We didn’t do the walk to the local pub as we hadn’t brought wellies and we did have a bit of rain so can’t comment on that. From the moment we arrived, everything was just perfect. From the locally sourced, homemade brownie to the delicious apple juice created from the apples grown on site and the spotlessly clean, beautiful accommodation. Fiona and Gary were the perfect hosts and on hand if we needed anything. The grounds include some very friendly chickens and sheep and the jungle house was the most lovely tranquil space to relax. Our. 5th stay here. There is nowhere better. Everything is Perfect. Highly recommended. Very central location to explore all of Cornwall.
We were really impressed by the accommodation and the welcome we rec'd from Fiona (and then Gary on the second day). Although the weather was mixed for our week, we had some good walks and meals as recommended by our Hosts. We enjoyed having a drink in the private garden with lovely views to the distant moorlands thru' fields. The only thing that could be done is to have a notice of "Reception" on the Hosts' accommodation, just to reassure guests that they're reporting to the right place! (altho' it was pretty obvious ).
This is a very special place to stay. Such warm and friendly hosts and a really beautiful, clean and comfortable cottage. The courtyard gardens, the grounds and the little lake house provide a lovely environment. The cottage is also in easy reach of almost anywhere in Cornwall, so very convenient. I highly recommend this place.
