Loved our stay here so much going back again this year, only to one of the bigger lodges, with a bigger balcony, the area is so peaceful but yet great for touring to nearby places like Oban etc, also great for going across to Lismore, we went later on in the year and no midges whatsoever, but there were wasps, hopefully there wont be any of the two this year. Great hotel near by too, food excellent as was the service.
What can I say? Brilliant. Lovely lodge & a warm welcome. Beautiful scenery & a pub just 5 minutes away. Will definitely be back.
After many years I was in a position to return to Appin Holiday Home Caravan H in which I stayed is situated by the sea loch. Perfect! It was very comfortable and very peaceful. The facilities were very good. I was received with a very warm welcome. Jim and Julie were lovely and I shall look forward to returning in the not too distant future Thank you both so much
This is an extract from Trip Advisor:) I am in top 10%! This is our 4th time in Scotland and this time we have chosen Appin Holidays. The place is really gorgeous with stunning view to the lake and mountains (lots of seals in the lake so not a big chance to catch fish:))) The place looks really deserted- quiet and peaceful. We met the owner (a very friendly lady) of the caravans once and that's it! We felt all the responsibility for our holiday, cleanliness and finding out about the area- this is amazing! We were surprised to see Games room for children and adults with lots of DVDs, books, a ...more
Relaxing and quiet. Very good for getting to places. Nice places to eat. Plenty of places to visit. Lovely.
It was an excellent place for taking a break from hectic days, nice panoramic, excellent ambiences. The lodge was comfortable with complete facilities (cookery, TV, and DVD). It would be helpful if there is a wifi services. I suggested to provide a towel and napkins. We hope can stay there again.
As always a warm welcome from Jim and Julie. Lovely stay in a warm and comfortable cottage. Peaceful area and easy to get around. We've loved every minute of our stay. We've been visiting for years and feel like we are visiting friends rather than renting a lodge or cottage. Fab site. Can't wait to return.
My wife and I had a great time. Beautiful area to explore. The caravan was clean with all we needed for our stay. Great value for money, cannot fault really. Many thanks.
Appin Holiday homes made it possible to have quite close to both Fort William and Oban. Fort William suited our hiking-style better and it took 40 minutes to go to FW, a bit far to go almost every day. The caravan was good, perfect size for the 4 of us, and had everything we needed in the kitchen, with TV, shower and so on. The nearest restaurant was great. The wifi-room is quite boring.
Appin Holiday Homes is our perfect destination in Scotland. The lodge was warm, comfortable and contained everything for a weeks self catering break. Ideal location on the West coast of Scotland for Oban, Fort Willian, Glasgow (let the train take the strain) and offered the opportunity of visiting our son in the Cairngorms. Jim and Julie as ever are perfect hosts. Lucky with the weather and great to see the Creagan Inn doing so well. Highly recommended.
We booked one of the older caravans because it was a late booking and one of the only vans left. That said it was very pleasant, clean and comfortable inside, albeit showing some signs of its age now. The location was delightful, perched right above the beach with beautiful views of the loch. The vans are well spaced and there are only 8 so we had plenty of peace and quiet. I can't comment on the service because we had no need to call them.
Fabulous place to stay. Ideally situated on the main road from Oban to Fort William so really easy to get around. Fantastic views of the loch and a beautifully maintained site. Always a warm welcome from Jim and Julie who go that extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. The lodges are beautifully decorated and well maintained. Just had a fab week there. Can't wait to return.
Arrived to find a wonderful warm cosy lodge in a beautiful location Away from the city. Will be back.
We had a great stay, the caravan sitting/dining area was comfortable. Bathroom heater didn't work which wasn't handy in the morning when the caravan was much colder than the day time. Lack of cleaning products was tricky to then clean before leaving.
Just about the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in for a long while as regards location, cleanliness and the site was superb. The pub down the road was the icing on the cake!
A great place to stay for outdoor loving families. Nice view of the loch and a pub in walking distance. Only fault was that it was a drive to the nearest convenience store .
We spent the Christmas period in the lodge. Which was very warm comfortable quiet & homely. The location is stunning lots of lovely walks to take in the views. I imagine in the summer there is even more to enjoy with boot trips etc. There's a folder in the lodge with very good & detailed information of the area. To us it was Obviously that it's a remote area and so we took everything with us that we needed. The nearest supermarket is a good drive away in Oban app 15 miles. which you'd expect for this kind of location. We did lose our phone signal for 3 days due to a mast issue, and you'd be lu...more
Hi we stayed at Fox Den for 3nights.The accommodation was freshly decorated, very clean, compact but very adequate. The area was excellent with access to cycle path 78 on the doorstep excellent for dog walking. The staff were very friendly and seemed to enjoy their business.Winter opening hours for shops and hotels would be good additional information as Creggan Inn was shut mid week and shop at Port Appin closed at 1.
