Had a wonderful time over the Xmas period with our family the cottage was amazing with lovely view of the mountains
What a stunning property in a gorgeous location! This thick stone walls kept the place cool while all around was sweltering! The garden is huge and the garden furniture is great. If the weather is good it’s a wonderful place to sit. Warning to tall folk, take care descending the stairs, there’s a low beam at the top and even I bumped my head a few times and I’m 5’4” !
Second visit to Hutton John and it didn’t disappoint! After parking outside the walled garden and opening the big wooden gates the views into the garden took my breath away. (This properly is wheelchair accessible) What I loved: * The wow factor of the garden, the walls, pergola, rose bushes-just everything! * Listening to the birds * The garden is shared with a property set back from the cabin but it felt very private * The cabin was really homely, comfortable and immaculate * A 10 minute drive to Pooley Bridge and 20 minute drive from Glenridding * Amazing welcome basket inc...more
We stayed in Herdwick Cabin which had a beautiful view from the decking and hot tub. The cabins are situated in a great area for exploring Keswick and surrounding areas . Prior to arrival there was lots of contact from Kate with regular updates and guidance. There was a welcome pack on arrival and everything you need for a self catering stay is provided in the cabin. The cabin was clean and cosy and we would definitely return for another stay. There is a well stocked farm shop and cafe 5 minutes drive away and the pub that is recommended in Dacre is well worth a visit!
Excellent communication from Kate. Quiet, warm and comfortable cabin. Great location on the edge of the Lakes, away from the crowds. Easy walk across fields to The Horse and Farrier in Dacre for good food. Hope to return, maybe with family to one of the cottages.
Lacet Cottage is a lovely place to stay in a great location. Walks can be done from the door in beautiful countryside but go just a little further afield and all the fells around Ullswater open up to you. The cottage itself certainly fits the bill. There was everything that we needed and it was very comfortable and a great place to relax. The garden was fantastic especially with having the dog. It was ideal for him in that it was totally enclosed front and back. It was a lovely place to sit and we even had the weather for doing it ! We loved staying at the cabin. It was ideally located for the north Lakes. Wonderful walks nearby. The cabin is great quality (though could use a bit of TLC in places). The wood burning tub is good fun, but you need more wood than you are given. Keep it very hot for a while early on and you should be ok. We did have to ask for some help and, to their credit, the owners were down in a jiffy with more wood.
Great cabin, neat and tidy with fantastic customer service. Highly recommended, would book again. 5 stars
