WAKE UP TO VIEWS ACROSS THE FELLS

Yew Tree Cabin offers panoramic views across to the fells surrounding Ullswater and beyond from the comfort of the cosy open-plan living space.

The bespoke-built cabin is clad using locally sourced larch with an L-shape floor plan that makes full use of the spectacular views across the woodland and beyond. The modern interiors have been carefully chosen by Kate combining modern amenities with heritage touches. Using colours inspired by the Lake District landscape including purples, dark and light blues, Kate has created a warm ambience with plush cushions and comfy seating. The living space is accompanied by a modern, well-equipped kitchen, dining table, a proper super-king bedroom and shower room. Outdoors, a private decked area with seating and a wood-fired hot tub allows you to truly immerse yourself in nature. The eco-friendly cabin is powered by solar panels with underfloor heating and insulation up to the highest of standards. The cabin combines luxury modern amenities with the beauty of nature.

This cabin is perfect for cosy couple’s getaways or Lake District adventure weekends and is dog-friendly.

Everything that you need is there from modern appliances to soft cosy towels and bedding, lovely to relax after a long walk in the hot tube

Just what you want when you want a quiet few nights away. Placed in an ideal spot so you can drive to different parts of the lakes. The cabin is well insulated. So you don’t have to worry about warming up when you’ve been out all day. Dog friendly! My woofer loved it! The owners were extremely helpful and so on it when we did have issues. Extremely satisfied with our stay. Would recommend!!

Yet again another fantastic stay everything was spot on, didn’t have the hot tube last time we stayed but it has made it even more special

The cabin was excellent, it had everything we needed for our stay.
The entrance area could look a bit more welcoming. The only other negative was the amount of wood given to use for the hot tub wasn’t sufficient to heat the water, and the fact that you had to buy wood for the rest of the stay was disappointing.
We have stayed in other lodges with wood fuelled hot tubs and the wood has always been provided.

Hello Angela, So pleased to hear you thought the cabin was excellent. I think you might mean the surroundings of the cabin weren’t all neat and tidy and you’d be absolutely right. You might have missed in the guest directory or on our website about our aim to be as eco-friendly as possible. For example, the cabins have an EPC A. The cabins are made of locally sourced larch and the electricity is from solar panels. The woodland has been thinned but otherwise is being left to regenerate, part of it is designated as an ancient woodland. We also have tried to re-wild some areas and let the grass, nettles and wild flowers grow. Although some small sections right by the cabins have lawn. Obviously it’s not to everyone’s taste, but there are a lots of little voles, for example, who make their home in the long grass and we’d rather look after them. Lawn might look nice to some, but it’s not good for the wildlife. We provide enough wood for one go in the hot tub. A small number of guests struggle as they might have missed the instructions in the guest directory. You’ve got to get the fire roaring, not purring. We have popped up to help a few guests, but once they see what to do they’ve all had no trouble. All the best, Kate.

Well what an amazing find this was! Yewtree Cabin is amazing both inside & out. We arrived to find a basket containing local goodies & a super clean, modern, comfortable cabin providing the best use of space. The hot tub was outstanding & we made sure we used it everyday of our stay. Easy walks to local pubs & villages meant we had the best of both worlds feeling secluded yet not cut off. We will be back!

What a wonderful stay we had at Yew Tree Cabin. We arrived to find the place spotlessly clean and immediately cosy. The first thing we noticed was the superb quality of the fixtures, fittings and furnishings. Everything installed was high spec and had an instant feeling of luxury. The kitchen was equipped with many pots and pans, along with any cooking utensil you might need. The bed, pillows and bedding were all incredibly comfortable and my partner and I slept very well on both nights of our stay. After a long day of hiking we made full use of the rain-shower which had outstanding water temperature and pressure, while enjoying the fragrant toiletries provided. The lounge area was a lovely place to sit. If we had one criticism, this room could have benefited from some softer lighting for the evening. Finally, the wood-fired hot tub was a brilliant feature that made our stay feel extra special. On the first night we had some issues getting the fire going but were able to ring the number provided and a kind, sweet man came to assist us (outside of the hours listed!).

We will definitely come back again for a longer stay and would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a private, luxurious and cosy spot to explore the lakes.

This was our first time at hutton. It was exactly what we wanted and needed..I.e..peacefulness and getting away from it all.
I recommend to all as its very central to all locations around the lakes.
