Gardener's Bothy was perfect in every way, spacious yet cosy, warm and comfortable and in a lovely location with over 500 acres of fields to walk from the door, yet not far off of A66 for ease of exploring the Lakes. Kind and helpful owners.
What a fantastic property that gave us everything we needed. From booking to staying communication was excellent and by far the best property we have stayed in the Lake District. We were a group of 10 and it met every need we had, close to some lovely walks and to visit all the Lakes. Also fantastically clean and a lovely welcome pack was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend
We selected this property because it is a traditional cottage in a location half way between Norfolk and Inverness. It turned out be perfect, cleanliness was excellent, a slightly knocks and crannies type house which suited us. Easy access to Ulswater and Pooley Bridge and only a couple of minutes from the Horse and Farrier pub with good food and a classic country pub.
Our host provided us with everything we needed and the Red Squirrels were on hand to enjoy the Hazel nuts. Peaceful, pretty and perfect. We may well pay a return visit.
My husband and I spent two very enjoyable days at the Gardeners Retreat, Hutton John. The first thing to say about the property is that it is very well located off the A66 but once you arrive, it is so peaceful that you feel that you are miles from anywhere. The cabin is situated in a walled garden and is extremely private and not at all overlooked. The cabin itself is beautifully decorated and well equipped with a fully functioning kitchen. Everything was immaculately clean and the bed and sofa were extremely comfortable. We also enjoyed using the wood-fired hot tub. Plenty of wood was ...more
We were lucky enough to win a New Year break in the Herdwick Cabin. The cabin was immaculate and really well designed. Despite experiencing all the winter weathers that Lake District can offer we stayed warm and dry. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we could have possibly needed.
The welcome basket and message were a really lovely touch too. The highlight was definitely spending New Year’s Night, sat in the hot tub, watching the starry skies and catching a glimpse of the northern lights. A real moment of magic.
The cabin is so accessible from the A66. It’s less than 20 minu...more
We stayed at the cabins for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon. The cabins location is very convenient for Penrith, Keswick and getting into the wider Lakes, we walked Scarfell Pike and it was only 30 minutes or so away and that’s on narrow roads for parts.
The cabins itself is modern, well designed (particularly the kitchen) and well equipped. It felt very homely for us very quickly. It’s well insulated from outside noise so any road or animal noises aren’t an issue at night. The cabin can get quite warm but nothing some ventilation can’t solve and would be perfect in autumn / winter. The l...more
Lacet Cottage is a lovely cottage in an excellent location. The cottage is close to the A66, giving easy access to the northern lakes and the Eden Valley. The cottage is generally well equipped, but more crockery and bakeware would be useful. On the whole it is very good value for money.
Had a fabulous stay at Brow Wood Cabin. From the moment I stepped foot inside I was pleased to see the cabin was as stunningly pristine as the photos showed. The cabin is very easily accessible, located just off the dual carriageway but feels as though you’re secluded far from such a road. Clean, modern and beautifully furnished.
Active days and relaxing evenings is what was needed and this break definitely delivered. After making the most of the dry weather, it was great to come back to a cosy abode (thanks to the underfloor heating) to cook and sit down with a well earned glass or two. I tr...more
