Had a fantastic week in Fairfax Place. The location is perfect, right in the centre of the town, and the flat is clean and very well-equipped (apart from a couple of extra kitchen items which would have been handy). It's a second floor flat, so there are stairs to get to it, but nothing too severe. The parking pass is very useful, as it can also be used in other towns in the area, The only minor issue was the wifi which was a bit hit and miss (even sitting next to the router we were struggling for a connection at one point), but that didn't detract from a really wonderful holiday. Would happil...more
The cottage is well maintained and comfortable. It is important to know that the ceiling height in the living room and doorways are very low. The beds and sofas were extremely comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Excellent washing machine and dryer. Lovely outside space despite being overlooked. We found there was very little space to store our own things in the kitchen and some extra shelves would help. The cupboard for guests provisions was tiny. We also found that many of the surfaces in the living room and bedroom had ornaments on them which we removed for fear of breakage an...more
We have stayed at no 8 Mayflower Court a number of times now and it has always been an excellent holiday. Every comfort has been thought of by the owner and we would recommend the property. The only downside is the parking situation. Although a parking space is provided, they are not numbered for each flat and in this era of large four by fours, we several times found ourselves boxed in.
We stayed at Middle Cottage for a week in July. When we arrived, we parked out the front and unloaded our car, then easily found parking just a few yards up the road. The cottage was spotlessly clean upon arrival and was the most equipt self catering accommodation we’ve ever stayed in - it felt like a home away from home. The kitchen had everything you could possibly think of, as well as cleaning supplies, candles, matches, playing cards etc. The bedrooms were lovely, extremely comfortable to sleep in. We were fortunate enough for have had a plenty of sunshine during our stay, where we were ...more
Ritson Farm felt like home from the moment we arrived. The living room is so relaxing and the kitchen a beautiful place to cook and eat. Kitchen was very well equipped and the whole house felt bigger than we’d expected, down to the lovely entrance hall to the enormous utility room which was fantastic for storing bags, doing washing and keeping our bikes. Upstairs was brilliant for the extended family, one family on one side of the staircase with 2 bedrooms and bathroom and same again on the other side. The little ones loved visiting the donkeys and the walk from the door down to the river and ...more
Lovely little apartment in the most ideal location for Dartmouth. 1 min walk into the centre and , everything you would need is in this apartment. Styled to a high spec . Private parking on site and it’s only a10 min drive to the beach . Perfect
Absolutely amazing stay, just as the photos. Peace & quite totally privite and relaxing, owners lovely and really did give you priecey but on hand if you wanted anything, will definitely return to this lovely tranquil place.
A stunning property and very well located the views are absolutely beautiful. We were very fortunate to spend some very very hot days there however it would have been more comfortable had there been some shade in the form of an umbrella on the patios. Very enjoyable stay.
Number 20 is in a great location close to amenities but also secluded. We enjoyed the outdoor patio and the interior was very spacious too! Lots going on in Dartmouth and the South West Coastal Path was easily accessible with useful bus and ferry links. Office staff were kind and thoughtful as well.
We have recently returned from a delightful stay at Windjammer . The apartment more than lived up to the photos and description, in both the brochure and website. It is a lovely spacious apartment, very comfortable, with fabulous views. It feels like a home to live in not just a holiday 'let'. We would certainly be happy to return and are happy to recommend it, plus it has the advantage of being in a very beautiful part of the country. Marica and Robbie Pilkington
Fantastic cottage, plenty of room, stunning views from stunning garden, only downside was parking, nightmare walk up jawbone hill
Very enjoyable stay at Old Quay House. Perfect location for everything Dartmouth has to offer. We loved the house and the terraced garden. It had everything we needed for our stay and was spotlessly clean and a real home from home. We’ll definitely stay here again.
Curlew Cottage was exactly how it had been described - there was nothing disappointing about it at all and I wanted for nothing more while I was there - except maybe for larger bath towels! It was perfectly equipped for 4 people, you wouldn't have wanted anyone over for supper as it really was catered just for 4. The quality of the sheets were so nice which really makes a difference and the pillows very comfortable. It was a great place to write - which is why I was there for nearly a month. Very peaceful and lovely walks. I would highly recommend. My 83 year old Mum came and stayed and ...more
Great place to stay, will use again. The house has great facilities and loads of room downstairs for family activities
Overall we enjoyed staying at Captain’s cottage but as a newcomer to holiday cottages, I would definitely look for somewhere with some outside space next time. The cottage was newly converted but in my opinion lacking in some very important touches. We were delighted to find a washing machine at the property but disappointed that it wasn’t also a drier. We found it difficult to dry our clothes because it was summer and we didn’t want the heating on. Also, we had soggy towels all week because the bathroom towel rail was only connected to the heating system. It would have been so much better i...more
Our fourth stay at Dittisham Court but our first stay in Barnfield and we would stay there again. The property is well furnished, light and airy with plenty of easy parking. The views from the communal garden looking out over the estuary are stunning. Good walks from the property to Dartmouth, Totnes or across the estuary to other villages.
We had a wonderful holiday. November Cottage was all that we could have wanted for our holiday. Everything was so clean and comfortable.
Husband and I enjoyed a comfortable stay at Gulls Rest with our two teenagers. The property was immaculately presented with all the equipment needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The beds were perfect for us to have a decent nights sleep. The front terrace was another great space for us to use in the evening. Being so close to the centre of Dartmouth was fantastic and really close to the market, pubs, cafes and shops it just took the pressure off having to go out in the car. We’ll definitely be booking to stay again.
sent email at beginning of holiday, regarding bathroom at top house in loft. still had no reply as yet
We returned to Seascape, having enjoyed our stay so much last year. This year did not disappoint. The flat and the views were as lovely as ever. It is very comfortable accommodation, extremely well-equipped and in the perfect location to access all that Dartmouth has to offer.
This amazing holiday home has everything you could wish for when on holiday. Great views and extremely well equipped. We will be back .
The cottage is ideally placed in the centre of Dartmouth. It was clean and very comfortable. The parking permit was really useful and it was fairly easy to find a parking space in the main car park in Dartmouth later in the day. Some of the windows in the cottage did not have blinds or curtains. For those windows in the bathrooms we ended up putting something over them as makeshift blinds. We couldn’t find a shaving point in either of the bathroom unless we missed it. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the cottage and would recommend it.
Excellent location, brilliant garden with a fantastic view. It was very relaxing and would definitely stay here again.
Very friendly, thoughtful and responsive hosts. Generous welcome basket of grocery staples and a sumptuous cream tea with home baked scones. Fabulous large courtyard which is in the sun for nearly the whole day in summer. Very well equipped cottage with everything guests could possibly need. Comfy beds and quality bedding. Great location: the narrow Devon lanes need treating with care but being a little way out of the main tourist areas has the benefit of peace and quiet. Several good food pubs within easy walking distance. Thank you, John and Maggie, for a great holiday.
Great for our needs and lovely to come back to village. The cottage was ok but looks tired inside Crabbing excellent !
A lovely light and airy cottage. Spacious and well equipped kitchen/dining room, lovely main bedroom and cute little child's bunk room. I wasn't clear from the photos that th twin beds were actually in the large sitting room but it worked out fine for the teenager.
We loved our week in Greenwood Cottage. It is delightful accommodation for two people - an oasis of calm yet within easy access of amenities, the Dart valley, beaches, countryside and a wealth of interesting places to visit. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped and the gardens which we were able to wander through, sit in and marvel at are absolutely beautiful. Our hosts, Roger and Helen, could not have been more welcoming and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable week.
Having stayed next door some 20 years ago we knew the location would be great. This accommodation has suited us very well. Clean, spacious & well equipped and nothing to complain about- our one query re rubbish bin was answered quickly and resolved by the team. Anyone who knows Dartmouth will know that parking is a big problem - so the garage below us was well worth the difficulty in getting a modern car into a tight space!
We really enjoyed our stay in Orchard Cottage, a pretty, well-equipped and comfortable cottage in Dittisham Court. The weather was superb, so we made good use of the terrace and very attractive and peaceful grounds.
Damson Cottage is very well equipped and Covid secure. The cottage surroundings are very peaceful with immediate access to an orchard. There is one village shop, which is also the pub and the post office, and everyone was very friendly. There are some very healthy walks from Dittisham and the Quay is within 10 minutes walk. A lovely spot with immediate access to the River Dart including a ferry across to the former home of Agatha Christie. The approach to Dittisham village is a not to be forgotten Devonshire driving experience with a windy road often requiring passing places to avoid t...more
The weather let us down, but the property didn't. It was very comfortable, well thought out and resourced and its location meant that we could pop out between showers and enjoy the River, shops, great restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk. Our first venture out for a long time and it was just what we needed. The property is on the third floor which makes a good workout but also great roof top views of the River Dart and its watery pursuits. surprisingly quiet as well, considering it is in the middle of town.
I would recommend Dart Valley cottages choice of property very comfortable and the views say it all. And parking space for one car is a real bonus, would come back again.
6th time in Dittisham but first at Alpha Cottage. Immaculately clean, comfortable beds and beautifully decorated. We had a lovely week and would definitely return. The stairs take some practice, so not recommended for anyone with mobility issues! We would have appreciated a ‘drying rack’ for our towels as it rained a lot and we couldn’t use the washing line outside. All in all, we would recommend Alpha Cottage and would definitely stay again.
Little Meadow is a lovely place for couples who want to explore the surroundings. It is compact but there’s everything you need for a self catering holiday. It is in a central position so you can easily get to the hams or the quay from the footpath near the garden or the shop at the Red Lion via the top gate. Dittisham is a beautiful village and well worth a stay here.
We had a lovely week at the Secret Garden, it’s a great property, clean, well presented and in a great position, close enough to the shops/restaurants etc and not to many steps or hills to negotiate on our way back, that said the stepped access to the property may be difficult for someone with mobility issues or the elderly. The car park pass is a godsend, without it it could end up quite costly and difficult to find parking for a full week, this is provided at no extra cost, a nice little bonus. We we’re blessed with good weather and managed to bbq in the garden one evening, another bonus ...more
Great time everything you would need in place walk down the hill is ok but a bit more challenging going back up taxi or number 3 bus is the more likely option would definitely think about using again booking was very easy staff very help full all in a great place
It was our 2nd stay @ this lovely apartment. We couldn't give full marks for hygiene as stains on carpet on landing were there when last stayed. Otherwise lovely apartment. Parking is difficult but have pass for main carpark. Views lovely always something to see & do in Dartmouth.
Lower House West is in a great position and has a really pleasant feel to it, the layout and space is perfect for a week away. What let’s it down is the beds and linen. The master bed is hard, old and a bit smelly. The pillows are not great either. Towels are too small, and with no heating in the summer once wet it’s not easy to get dry. So overall it’s nice place but time for a new bed at least.
Enjoyed our stay at this sweet cottage. access for parking at the back of the property is very narrow and some larger cars might have difficulty. The cottage was clean with a nice welcoming pack and new garden furniture. The boiler in the roof above the small bedroom seemed to fire frequently in the night. Good exercise in climbing the hill to the Red Lion Pub ! Overall a lovely stay.
When I was looking to book a week away in Devon I came across this place but was not sure at first as it didn’t boast a garden. But I am really pleased I did book it as the communal gardens were enough as you have benches to look out across the views. The house was clean quirky and very comfortable, we didn’t want to leave.. it had lovely views across the village from the doors that open in the living room. Only thing missing was a tin opener! Dittisham is a magical village and each morning we would walk Dave the dog down to the Ham. You won’t be disappointed in booking Shippon end.
Bayards is a decent sized, well equipped apartment in a very central location. Despite being in the heart of Dartmouth it wasn’t too noisy (just chatter from the cafe opposite and seagulls!). Dartmouth is a fantastic resort with plenty of things to do, places to visit and plenty of bars/restaurants! Having the parking permit is a real bonus, which can be used on any of the South Hams long stay car parks. We would definitely stay at Bayards again and book with Dart Valley Cottages.
An amazing find, absolutely stunning location, beautiful views, gardens & location, had everything we could possibly need, will definitely be returning, only tiny negative & this is purely personal to us, main bedroom with ensuite the bed was very hard & uncomfortable for us & family bathroom overhead shower a bit tricky to keep the water flowing if using in the hand just to wash hair.
Wonderful location, great views, lovely stay. Would have written this in the visitors book but couldn't find it!
A very good week spent in this most special part of The Hams. The house is functional, homely and unpretentious. Parking locally extremely easy.
A spacious house in a lovely position in the village. However, there was no tumble dryer which is a big draw back for families staying for a week or two. To add to the problem no washing line either and only one wooden airer. Small things that should be rectified - sink plug did not work in en suite bathroom so basin could not hold water for shaving. When taking plug out it was filthy and full of hair and black muck. Leak in basin in other ensuite (with double bed). Waxed cloth on dining room had to be scrubbed - very dirty.
Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at flat 2, 38 Dartview. The flat was spotlessly clean when we arrived . The view from the flat window was amazing and it’s a short walk from Dartmouth front. The bed was very comfortable, although the room was a little dark. There is also a second bedroom with a single bed.
We had a lovely week in this cottage. It’s very comfortable and is a real home from home. The views are incredible. Driving around Dittisham is somewhat challenging!
Perfect base for exploring around the river Dart. Herons Reach is spacious and airy. Beautiful sunsets too!
Following the disappointment of not being able to stay last year, 10 Clarence Hill certainly lived up to our expectations. It has a great location, and has everything you need for a relaxing break, with every thing considered. We especially loved the board games for rainy / lazy days.
A second stay at Lee Court, an ideal location with a short walk to the towns amenities and views across the Dart from panoramic windows. There is always activity to appreciate from the changing tides, boats being mored to a seal swimming past. The flat is spacious, comfortable and well appointed for a family break
Lovely house, situated at the top of a hill, walkable but with shopping bags jumped on bus, drop off write outside house. Parking outside was a bit awkward, took two people to help park ok if you have small car. Loved the kitchen / lounge layout, open plan so husband could still chat while cooking . Lovely bedrooms but the lighting in the top bedroom was poor. Bathrooms great. Kitchen plenty of equipment for cooking, but the kettle did leak everywhere, which was a bit dangerous. Couldn’t find thermostat for the radiators to turn them down. (Book said it was in the hall but we couldn’t find it)...more
We loved our stay at Thornwell Cottage. Cosy, quaint, a lovely view from the garden. The dogs loved it too. The cottage is very conveniently located in the village. I want to come back!
Lovely place Lovely cottage very conveniently situated Ditisham is such a beautiful village and this cottage with its orchard views is just lovely. House is quiet and well equipped will come again. The second shower could do with an upgrade but a minor problem
It was clean light and airy. You can see the sea whilst being in bed and have the doors open . We had 4 adults and 2 tots. Everything was supplied. You are between Dartmouth and Kingsbridge, so excellent position. We loved it!
The place was fine but our welcome was less than friendly. The owner saw we had a 16 year old with us and insisted they don't take children. I am not sure what she expected us to do and it was hardly like he was a small child. If they didn't want children it should say so on your website. We did sort it out and we had a very pleasant stay in a beautiful setting. The house could have been cleaner, the microwave was dirty and we had to wash bowls and plates before using them and very dusty under the beds.
The position of the Barn is lovely with wonderful sunsets and a quiet location. The newly fitted kitchen is fabulous for a big family and well equipped, but why no bread bin? The living room is spacious and attractive and a separate TV room is also good. Upstairs however we had a few problems. The shower room flooded several times when the overhead rose was used, the en suite is old and needs a revamp and the extractor didn't work and the small windows didn't allow for good ventilation during the hottest week of the summer so far. Another fan would have been very useful. The bedrooms had ...more
We love this cottage and it’s position on the waterfront. Close to the cafe and pub and perfect for paddle boarding and watching the boats go by.
We have stayed at Holly Cottage three times now. It has had some improvements since we last came..new bathroom, outside seating etc. The location is amazing and the cottage is quaint and has everything you need. Things have changed since Covid..the pub and The Anchorstone Cafe are not so accommodating which is a shame..I hope all the lovely things about Dittisham will come back soon. No faults with Holly Cottage though..we will be back !
We stayed as a party of four adults during a week of glorious weather in July 2021. Hawke Cottage was an ideal base for exploring the many local attractions, set in a beautiful location which made it a tranquil base to return to each evening for a relaxing stroll round the golf course. The property itself is comfortable and well laid out. However, this does not mean there is not room for improvement. Specifically, cleaning could have been better (we had to call the cleaning company to remove some underwear, not ours, from the bedroom and to sweep the dirty patio which they promptly. We did no...more
Could do with some decorating internally, the patios area poor and need updating, nice views over the estuary.
Lovely cottage which was spotless on arrival. Cake and milk was a very welcome surprise. Our toddler loved the garden and orchard and we used the cottage as a base to explore not only the village, but to go kayaking, visit numerous beaches and the wonderful babbacombe model village.
Lovely stay at Lilly Cottage. Location was great and quiet, Cottage was well equipped and it was a short walk into town
The view from the cottage is amazing, the selling point, thankful for the parking spot, although no big car would fit in and need to be fit for the hill!! BUT loved it and would return Lovely to sit & chill in the garden
We had a lovely week in the cottage, we parked the car and that's where it stayed, bus train and ferry was our mode of transport for the week, it was really good not having to worry about parking.
It was a very clean and comfortable cottage in a superb position overlooking the river dart.Would definitely like to return in the future.
A characterful, cosy cottage set on steep, narrow lane close to picturesque Dittisham. Good standard of facilities offering the opportunity for a pleasant break. Drawback was problems of access and easy walks which may not suit anyone with mobility issues
