Moonshine Retreat is just a gem of a place to stay. A beautiful property in a beautiful location with easy access to all that Dartmouth has to offer. And if you don't want to move far then just relax on the amazing deck. We were very lucky with the weather, but if it's a bit chilly there are snuggly blankets to keep you warm. We really couldn't have wished for anything more.
The apartment was spotlessly clean with everything we needed. The view is superb and the location means you don't have to get the car out everyday. The climb up the stairs mean you can have cream teas and ice cream without feeling guilty.
We had a wonderful few days at Captains Cottage beautifully decorated and with everything we needed. Excellent location and the car park pass an added bonus.
Covid destroyed plans for my entire family of 6 adults and two infants going to Tuscany. Glad , in the end , that it did as we found this great secluded farmhouse. Clean as could be wished for. comfortably accommodating us all. Great terrace and nice garden. Very well equipped . Only minor quibble the mattress in the second double bedroom was a bit hard, but after a good ay out it did not prevent us sleeping. Nice sitting room . A safe location if young children involved . I hope we might return -if the owners who were generally about, as it is their home on their farm, will have us!
A lovely clean, comfortable, well presented little cottage. Lovely wood burner made for cosy and warm nights, well equipped kitchen and comfy bed. Short walk to local friendly pub with good hearty food, good position for walks, overall super little cottage in very nice peaceful and traditional village which made for a relaxing break.
What a special house, and what a wonderful view! The open plan downstairs area and the incredible garden and view, such a wonderful property and super special garden - a real pleasure to stay there.
We are frequent visitors to Dartmouth and this has to be the best place we have ever stayed. The 3 ensuite bedrooms were fantastic now our kids are older and there was plenty of space inside and out for all of us. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the views over to the river were wonderful. The only thing we missed that we didn't have (apart from great weather), would be perhaps a few more mugs to save on the washing up. That is only a very minor point and we would definitely book Old Quay House again when we next visit.
This property is well located , just a short walk to the riverfront and facilities. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable with a pretty view towards the village and hills.
We have recently returned from a delightful stay at Windjammer . The apartment more than lived up to the photos and description, in both the brochure and website. It is a lovely spacious apartment, very comfortable, with fabulous views. It feels like a home to live in not just a holiday 'let'. We would certainly be happy to return and are happy to recommend it, plus it has the advantage of being in a very beautiful part of the country. Marica and Robbie Pilkington
Great cottage in an excellent location. Access to the river and views from patio make this property even more enjoyable.
The four of us me, husband, daughter and our dog had a lovely relaxing stay. Perfect place for walking into Dartmouth and Dartmouth is the perfect place to stay so you can travel to see local places. A nice street too the neighbors where so lovely too. It was our first stay in a cottage and it wont be our last we will be back again. A lovely holiday.
This was our first stay at November Cottage and we would certainly stay again. The accommodation was comfortable and bright. We had everything we needed and everything worked well.
Lovely location.and of course views.parking was easy close to cottage. Could not find any house instructions so unable to recycle as did not know collection days. But a relaxing break .
A lovely cottage with a beautiful garden. The views are wonderful and it is very comfortable and has everything you need. I would say it was a two bedroom cottage, not a three bedroom as the third one is essentially underground. A parking permit would have been good to have.
We rate the experience in every way, with one small reservation. The boiler, being close to a bedroom , did cause a small smell at times which was irritating, but we managed it ok. However, the facility overall provided everything we wanted and it is in a great position for exploring the area, particularly if you want to walk. The transition from barn to cottage has been very well executed and we loved it.
Location of this cottage is great plus the view when enjoying a glass of wine from the raised patio is superb.
Very nice place excellent location within short walking distance of the Harbour and Town The house was lovely with all the facilities we needed , clean and comfortable. We would stay there again without hesitation.
our hosts mr/mrs Dupree very good, Swilly Barn clean and comfortable, could have done with a hand rail by patio steps, a good stay
Super comfortable, easy to find, parking worked well although possibly tricky if you are on your own with small children or someone has less mobility as you have to unload and park. Kitchen has everything you need. Location so lovely - right next to church but bells didn’t bother us at all. Bedroom floors really really lovely - loved waking up to sunshine and sky views. WiFi, smart TVs, nest and hey google tech all brill. Would stay again and would definitely recommend
Little Meadow is a granny flat all on one level once inside. It is built on slopping land so you have ramps and steps to get to it. As a stay could not fault the area or the facilities, the bed was excellent. Only slight criticism was it was clean however despite the claimed extra 'deep cleaning' because of COVID-19 we could still find dust, cobwebs and spiders.
A great, comfortable holiday home. Very clean and the usual relaxing stay. Perfect location with shop and pub in the village. We were still able to visit all the local beaches without issues in spite of COVID-19 restrictions. We will definitely be back!
Having stayed in a number of cottages in Dittisham over a numbed of years No 1 Rock Cottage has proved to be the most comfortable and well appointed. While there is no 'off street' parking with the cottage plenty of 'road side' parking is available in nearby Riverside Road. We are looking forward to a return visit.
Entrance hall like council flats; poor state of maintenance, but clean. Yacht-club staff, especially bar staff create early morning noise moving furniture, bottles and barrels. Otherwise, a very pleasant time with all mod coms; apart from the lack of a dishwasher into which to put crockery etc on leaving.
Ollies cottage is in an excellent position behind the Red Lion pub and shop. The house is specious and we’ll orientated. Bathroom good although shower pump a bit noisy. Kitchen well equipped and spacious. We have stayed here before and probably will again
What a suprise, beautiful setting, very very quiet, everything you need is supplied even with covid restrictions any problems quick to respond. Pictures don't do it justice must be seen to be believed gardens are amazing. Many thanks to the owners.
Property looked a little tired but was warm and comfortable. Due to location; would have benefited from having somewhere to hang wetsuits- we didn't want to bring into the property. The twin room could have done with some drawer spacer, however, plenty of coat hangers to hang clothes instead
We really enjoyed our stay. Balconies looking over the town, a few minutes walk to the river, shops and restaurants. Nice clean, bright house over 3 floors with added benefit of pool.
We had a wonderful stay at this fabulous house with its amazing views which got better and better the higher you climbed. The house was spotlessly clean on arrival and we felt totally Covid safe. Excellent location for exploring Dartmouth and all that it has to offer, with just a short 5 minute walk in to the centre. Having the parking space right outside was a real bonus, especially as Dartmouth was extremely busy due to the extra 'stay-cation' visitors, I would recommend only using it for small/medium size cars.
Another stay at Barnfield for the umpteenth time, keep coming back year after year. Great cottage in a superb location with views to die for. Just about to book for next year.
Both Dart Valley Cottages and Upper Tremorvah were excellent. Customer service was fantastic. Due to Corvus19, we had to change both the date and location of our stay. Dart Valley Cottages provided us with a superb alternative in Upper Tremorvah and their customer service was excellent. Thank you!
A spacious, light and airy property, well equipped overall and with stunning views. Comfy beds too! Fantastic, peaceful location.
We very much enjoyed our stay in Seascape, Dartmouth. The views over the river were fantastic and the balcony provided valuable outside space (when the weather was fine!).The flat was very clean and nicely decorated and equipped with good quality appliances. Our medium-sized car fitted into the parking space with a little room to spare but it wasn't always easy to park due to the traffic queuing for the Kingswear ferry in the adjacent lane. However, this was a minor niggle and we would certainly stay here again. The location was excellent and quiet at night.
Lovely, clean and comfortable house with outstanding views. Great, panoramic views of the steam trains too. As good as it looks in the photos. Parking in Dartmouth itself fills up very quickly! We used the park and ride on occasions for a longer stay.
A lovely loft apartment, more spacious than anticipated especially the bedrooms. Great central location in Dartmouth for all restaurants, shops, bars and quayside life. Very quiet at nighttime with no delivery lorries interrupting your sleep especially as on the high street opposite the supermarket. Would happily stay there again.
We were delighted to see that the property is right in the heart of Dartmouth, just a 1 minute walk to the river and 5 minutes to the quay. The house is also a good size with two bathrooms and an extra toilet. Unfortunately, that is really where the positives end. The drive is incredibly steep and it was stressful every time we had to leave or returned in the car. On entering the property there was a very strange smell, a bit musty. Two out of the three toilets were dirty. They’d had bleach poured down them but under the seats had not been wiped at all with obvious signs of the previous occupa...more
Super cottage in excellent central but quiet location. Unfortunately the boiler churned all night the first night so we had a rather sleepless night plus no heating or hot water. When we spoke to Dart Valley Cottages in the morning they called a plumber (we didn't have to stay in) and then gave us new accommodation promptly in the afternoon as the boiler would not be quickly fixed. We then stayed in Ferry View which was a super place but a brisk 10 minute walk from the centre which was not what we had planned. In both cottages, heating information was a challenge; out of date in the firs...more
Have stayed here before. Provides very good accommodation. In excellent riverside position. On a nice day great to sit outside looking at all the activity. It is just starting to look a little tired in some areas. Shame there was no corkscrew and the wet room loo had a missing push button.
We had a very happy stay at the Nook. The cottage was comfortable and well stocked with everything one could need. We was blessed with great weather and because of the location of Dittisham we could comfortably leave the car and travel around by boat. The quay is a great place to hang out with pub right at hand. Only thing to mention is like a lot of places in Devon the roads around the village are extremely tight and hilly but you do get use driving around and keeping fit! Oh and great sunsets!
Lovely property in good location. Very clean and tidy. Spacious, well planned accommodation. Great to have car park pass.
This was an excellent stay, with a central location yet no street noise at night. What a view! The only thing that was negative was the walls were thin and a loud snorer kept me awake during my stay! Also perhaps fitting a google chrome cast box would mean people could watch Netflix etc From the lounge and the wifi didn’t work in the bedroom. Overall super! Xx
A spacious, comfortable, well equipped home in a great location. We had the parking spot measured before coming but the size is not the issue but the turn to get in to it which meant we bumped our car twice - made it an expensive break which we can’t afford to replicate!
This is our 3rd year staying at Lee Court and we always enjoy our stay. Dart Valley cottages are always so helpful. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Looking forward to returning next year.
Everyone had a most enjoyable holiday at Sabine House and look forward to a return visit in 2021. The weather was not as good as last year, sunny every day. But we were very fortunate that it only rained a couple of days - but not all day. The children love Dartmouth as much as their mother did when she was a child. We all have wonderful memories of Dartmouth and the surrounding area. The house is in such a wonderful position, not far to the cliffs, car ferry, able to go crabbing out side , sit and enjoy the scenery without having to go far, walk into town easily for any shopping. An...more
We had a perfect week in the cottage. We had friends in other cottages in the same complex- an ideal location. The cottage was very well equipped and very comfortable. The sofas seemed very new and walls recently decorated. The art work reflected the beautiful area. The only comment I can make is suggesting that the old unused picture hooks are removed. Dart cottages were very responsive and helpful.
We have been here many times and, despite the difficulties this year with Covid, we got by very well. D V Cottages were very helpful with information to combat the difficult circumstances that apply when letting out property at this time and although the property was stripped back a bit we didn't really notice any lack of facilities or experience any hardship. A particularly good feature is the off-road room to park 2 or more cars which we used - very necessary in a small village with narrow lanes. The provision of WiFi is a big factor especially as this year so many activities have to be ...more
Had a fantastic stay at this beautiful apartment. Very comfortable with great views over dartmouth. Conservatory is lovely for eating and the terrace is a great place to watch the sunset. Nice to get back to such a peaceful setting at the end of every day.
We know the area well and needed a house which could accommodate 5 plus dog and two cars and be within easy reach of sea. Hill Top provided all that and more.
The view from this property simply takes your breath away and the garden leading down to the river is maintained superbly. We only used the master bedroom (excellent mattress for a change) with ensuite which was quite modern with a good powerful shower. While there is a large mirror in the ensuite there was no mirror above the basin so you had to squint in the reflection of the towel rail when shaving / inserting contact lenses. All the rooms are reasonably well maintained but there are a few things that need to be sorted. The roller blind outside the main lounge needed the assistance of th...more
The fact that the garden is not adjacent to the property meant that we didn't use it . The steps up are quite steep for older or infirm people. The property itself was comfortable and clean and everything worked.
Lovely, modern accommodation in a great location for Blackpool Sands and exploring South Devon. The south facing courtyard was perfect for evening bbqs. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay.
Lovely little village with fantastic views and great walks. Away from the hustle and bustle of Dartmouth which is accessible by ferry or car. 2 pubs one which houses a small shop. Friendly people. I would suggest a car is essential if you stay here. There is no bus service. The cottage is adequate for 2 but may be a little cramped for 4. It stands in well kept communal grounds with stunning views. It is just starting to look a little 'tired" Only criticism would be at this time with Covid i dont think the cottage had been particularly well cleaned and there was some wet bedding left on the...more
Blackness Barn is an ideal place to stay in Dittisham. Close to all the facilities and the accommodation is very spacious, with a well equipped kitchen and lovely view of the estuary.
We felt very comfortable and at home in Lily Cottage. It’s very well and stylishly equipped, comfy and well situated to walk into town. But we found it difficult to park in the town car park and we spent a long time each day waiting with the car to find a space. Not being able to park near the cottage made it difficult for us. My only other negative was that the cottage smelled of dog on first arrival. It’s a great cottage and we would have loved to have stayed again were it not for the lack of parking.
We have stayed at Herons Reach many times and returning 10/10/20 having stayed 5/9 to 12/9 ,so we can see it suits us very well.
Everything was really good but in the second bedroom when the beds were pushed together we found crisps and fluff on the floor which would have been under the bed. In these times of exceptional cleanliness due to Covid we did think this was not acceptable. The cottage itself was lovely, spacious and well fitted, its position with the views of the golf course was exceptional. We did have a problem with the hot water for one day but once reported the problem was resolved by the next morning. In all a lovely cottage we would be happy to use again.
We enjoyed our first visit to this cottage. It suited us well . One suggestion would be to supply a small rack for drying clothes. The waste disposal procedures are very complicated!
We had a wonderful stay at Out to Sea. The location is just amazing, with panoramic views of the whole Dart estuary from the living room and bedroom and lots of outside space. We found it a very comfortable and cosy house, with a well-equipped kitchen. Quite a steep walk up from the town but totally worth if for the views! We definitely hope to go back soon
Nice cottage with views over an orchard in a great village on the Dart. Cottage is a bit tired in places with furniture in the living room probably in need of an upgrade and outside furniture rotten.
As we were let down with this booking by the owners not long before due to stay we didn’t get to see it. When walking past the cottage when at Dittisham however, it was occupied !! The owners must have had a more lucrative offer.
We have stayed at Tunis several times and love the stunning location and feel of the place - it’s a proper cottage with its quirks and character. But if you like privacy and all mod cons then this is not the place for you. It’s very much a holiday cottage of the old school in that it feels like the owners have put all their old stuff in it. It’s not comfortable - doesn’t have decent beds, linens or comfy lounge furniture and the shower is a mere trickle despite a new bathroom having gone in recently. I like the fact that it hasn’t been stylised, but would like to be more comfortable so probabl...more
Once we'd parked up (my Ford Focus fitted the space but at an angle), we decided not to use the car. The road up is steep and narrow but not busy so we didn't meet anyone when arriving or departing, thankfully. There are fantastic views from the lounge and twin bedroom. The kitchen is generally well equipped (we missed pasta bowls, pint glasses and kitchen scissors); the beds were comfortable and the bath and shower both efficient. I would have preferred a more direct explanation of the layout (i.e. only one bedroom has direct same-floor access to the bathroom), so we would have been prep...more
The location of Shipwrights was excellent close to the Marina car park included,in rental. Close to bus stop, lower ferry and with a wonderful view over the Dart The door does open straight onto the road with quite a high step I think a handle would be beneficial as we did struggle. There is some road noise this didn’t bother us but it could if you live normally in a quiet area. You can here the steam train but we loved hearing it. I think the furniture could do with an upgrade as the settee is low and difficult to get out of. There was ample crockery and other supplies. The bed was ver...more
You won’t find a more beautiful location than this, just a few paces from the waters edge and the passenger Ferry to Dartmouth. The area has lots of lovely walks right from the doorstep of Holly Cottage, that lead to you some amazing coastal views and on towards Torquay.
Cleanliness and Condition does not warrant an Excellent rating due to the imperfections in the ensuite and main bathroom. 1) The ensuite shower rail is adrift from the wall. The grouting around the wash basin needs refreshing. Around the base of the taps, the waste outlet and the plug hole needed more efficient cleaning. 2) The main bathroom shower door is not watertight. As a consequence the bath mat gets dripping wet and the surrounding floor area is dangerously wet. Again the base of the taps, the waste outlet and the plug hole needed more efficient cleaning. The floor is very squeaky an...more
Nice little cottage in a great location. Quite worn and a bit cobwebby in places but bathrooms and beds etc were all very clean and comfortable. The kitchen equipment is scarce and we couldn’t find the booked highchair anywhere but we had a nice stay and the service when booking was helpful and friendly.
It started with the neighbours having a go at us for unloading by a very rude man. The downstairs smelt of damp it was unclean and scuffy there were pots in the cupboard with dried on food baking trays and place mats too.in the double bedroom no tv remote until we moved the bed on Tuesday and it was underneath with various other bits of left over property by other guests. The clocks wasn’t working or the balcony in the sky room. The only decent thing was the view. We left on Wednesday I thought property’s had to be deep cleaned this certainly hadn’t and in COVID times we felt unable to contin...more
A characterful, cosy cottage set on steep, narrow lane close to picturesque Dittisham. Good standard of facilities offering the opportunity for a pleasant break. Drawback was problems of access and easy walks which may not suit anyone with mobility issues
