Having stayed in Hotels in Chipping Campden a number of times, it was a such a delight to have the use of Cornerstone cottage for a few days once we remembered the small step from the kitchen to the lounge. I have just a couple of suggestions : as the bathroom is downstairs it would have been helpful to have, a plug-in night light to help during the night and a clothe hook behind the door of the bathroom. Apart from these small details our stay re affirmed our love Chipping Campden and the Cotsworlds.
Doverdale is a lovely house in the very lovely village of Chipping Camden. We had a great stay, it was close to the Cotswold way and a lot to see and do in the area. The kitchen was well equipped, a bonus for us as we cooked for ourselves. The only downside was that we were unable to use the drive so had to park a number of cars on the cul-de-sac, there was sufficient space but we were worried about upsetting the neighbours.
We had a fantastic stay at The Stables. Plenty of space for 4 adults, a 5 year old and a 4 month old. The pictures really are deceptive about the size of the downstairs space, it’s much bigger than it looks and perfect for children and adult’s alike. We loved the exposed beams all over the cottage and the garden space was lovely. Our son especially liked seeing all the bees gathering pollen! We initially had a little trouble find the cottage, but on reading the instructions from the owners we were able to find it. Though an additional note about the small wooden sign would have helped! The house is very comfortable, rooms are bright and spacious. We really enjoyed our stay. The tumble dryer was a bonus as the weather was a bit wet, so we could dry our clothes ready for the next adventure.
Cottage is just perfect for 2 couples snd the cottage garden is beautiful. In a quiet part of the village great location just up the road from blockley cafe the best place for breakfast
We had a lovely stay at this cottage. A few minus points, a broken toilet seat and the outside of the property could do with a little TLC. But overall it was a very pleasant few days.
This is a great place to stay in a beautiful location. It is the second time that my wife and I have stayed here but the first time under wellyboot. The basics of the stay were great as previously, everything you could wish for. The company let themselves down by small shortfalls. There was no welcome/introduction sheet. We regularly stay in cottages and this is the first time that I have not seen a sheet with important local telephone number e.g. doctor, or recommended restaurants, or how to recycle. It was quite annoying to arrive on the first evening to find there was no kitchen roll, c...more
Top notch - handy for the local sites, quiet, plenty of room, very comfortable, & a fab dawn chorus to wake us up!
We had a great time at Stone Walls. Peaceful location. Main bathroom needs a little attention. Garden cushions need replacement. Kitchen well stocked but it needs a bigger fridge for six people. Perhaps a beer and wine fridge? Smoke alarm needs replacing. Eggcups and ice cube trays would be useful. We would recommend it.
The house was quite small. The house appeared to have not been let this year and when entering was a bit smelly probable due to the shower U-bend drying out. Apart from underfloor periodic heating there is no other heating in the bathroom very necessary in March/April. Water from the basin taps needed constant mopping up. The kitchen was worse. The kitchen lacked basic cleaning materials. EG bleach, kitchen foil Kitchen paper rolls, only two toilet rolls in total for the week! There was no washing-up powder etc for the washing machine and no place to dry clothes. Cloths-horse? The bo...more
