Have stayed with Port Charlotte holidays on a number of occasions and always enjoyed it. Houses are comfortable and well equipped and Port Charlotte is a great location. We'll be back.
The apartment layout was perfect for our family group of 3 couples and 2 children. Port Charlotte was an excellent location and so picturesque. To have 3 really good food/restaurant options within walking distance was amazing - the Port Charlotte Hotel, the Community Cafe and the Seafood Restaurant. The house itself had everything we needed (and more) - So all in all we had a great time and will hopefully return before too long!
This was not the first time that my family had stayed in Sanaigmore cottage and hopefully it will not be the last. The house is beautifully appointed with room for us to escape from one another, which happens occasionally during a 2 week stay! The house is always made ready for our occupancy when we arrive and Alison is always helpful if a problem arises. Parking is easy and very accessible for loading and unloading our vehicles. The only very minor issue this year was having to strip the beds and bag the used linen but that was more down to Calmac changing our booking to the 7 a.m. ferry ...more
I had been a little anxious about the view from the property, as it is in a (very) small town, but in fact the view was one of its assets, looking out over the sea loch to the hills on the opposite shore. Handy for local eateries in Port Charlotte itself, and for touring the whole island. There was quite enough kitchen stuff for our needs, and the "bedroom" on the mezzanine floor gave the interior a nice shape. We used the upstairs en-suite shower, even though it is a wee bit poky, as the shower valve in the bath in the more spacious bathroom downstairs seems not to have worked for a long...more
Islay was beautiful in the good weather. Ardnave is a nice roomy holiday let with a very good range equipment to make a stay comfortable. Handy parking. Easy walk to Hotels and the wee shop. Lovely views over Loch Indaal. Enjoyed our stay.
