Have stayed with Port Charlotte holidays on a number of occasions and always enjoyed it. Houses are comfortable and well equipped and Port Charlotte is a great location. We'll be back.
The house ist perfectly located in Port Charlotte. There's is a little shop 50 metres away from the house and from there you can take a bus to Bowmore, Ardbeg, Lagavulin and Laphroaig in case you want to visit any distilleries. If you like hiking as well, it is also possible to reach Kilchoman (about 5 to 6 miles). If you want to visit other distilleries, you need a car or a taxi. Have stayed in the cottages every year for 16 years and will be back. Very comfortable and well equipped - Islay is beautiful even in the rain.
Could not of asked for anymore, it had everything. The location was amazing . Loved everything about the accommodation.
While the accommodation is ideally situated to explore the west side of the island and well equipped, we did not find that it was “Beautifully furnished” nor “Finished to a high standard”. The en-suite bedrooms were not “luxurious” with the pine furniture and standard fittings in the bathrooms, which are in need of some attention. The shower cubicles were very small and a the water pressure non existant. Although for the most part the accommodation was clean there were numerous spider-webs.
