One of the nicest cottages we’ve ever stayed in! Beautifully designed, decorated and equipped with a huge and incredibly comfortable bed. Set in its own grounds alongside West End Farm (which we were lucky enough to get a look at and which I’m currently saving up for!) There were koi carp and sheep and a beautiful ex racehorse plus the dogs were delighted with the secure dog paddock. Highly recommend!
This our 3rd time enjoying a family weekend (across 3 generations) in different locations and West End Farm was our best yet! The house is stunning, finished to a high standard and felt so homely and comfortable. It is large and roomy, and everything has been thought off – the kitchen is incredibly well equipped. The pool and hot tub were a particular highlight for the children (ranging from 10-15) who spent hours enjoying it, perfect for a winter weekend and the cousins enjoying hanging out together and burning off some steam! Fabulous property in a wonderful location for our family weekend get together. We were greeted on arrival by Duncan, who was friendly & informative, a welcome hamper & a warm loaf of bread in the bread maker which was a lovely touch! Everything you could need & more ( a piano!) was provided & the rooms were tastefully decorated to a high standard. The swimming pool, jacuzzi & outside area kept the adults & children entertained. We had an issue with the jacuzzi on the last day but the owner came out to fix it. Wonderful place to stay & we would love to return!
This was our second visit to The Knoll , the exceptional high standards remain . Whilst this place is like home from home with the smell of freshly baked bread on arrival . Its the breathtaking views and the luxuries of the hot tub with a view , long soaks in the copper bath and extra large comfortable bed we really loved . We never want to leave . Molly and Lewis are the perfect hosts and we look forward to visiting again very soon .

We really enjoyed our stay at cowslip retreat. The accommodation had everything we needed, even laundry facilities. Having a small enclosed garden with beautiful views over the hills was the highlight of this retreat and the dog enjoyed this too!
Excellent property and in good condition good value for money and excellent hospital good for the dog and not far from Whitby
Just lovely….so cute and easy to walk into the village…the outlook was breath taking…we’d love to come back x
Staithes is an excellent location, well-served by public transport, an excellent bakery, butchers and fish and chip take-away. The cottage has an excellent view and we sat outside to eat one of our meals on the veranda. We used one of the two travel cots provided. We couldn't get the other one to work but fortunately one family had decided to bring their own travel cot. The one we used (green) had a hard, slatted wooden base and proved uncomfortable. The shower(s) upstairs have a strange habit of suddenly loudly dripping during the night which should be investigated. We brought 4...more
