One of the nicest cottages we’ve ever stayed in! Beautifully designed, decorated and equipped with a huge and incredibly comfortable bed. Set in its own grounds alongside West End Farm (which we were lucky enough to get a look at and which I’m currently saving up for!) There were koi carp and sheep and a beautiful ex racehorse plus the dogs were delighted with the secure dog paddock. Highly recommend!
From start of booking to leaving the experience was as good as it gets Wonderful house beautifully decorated for Christmas Top class furnishings wonderful location The pool and spa are a real bonus Being greated and showed around by Lewis was really nice A total credit to the owners

We loved our stay at The Knoll with our golden retriever and would definitely recommend it to others, especially as a dog friendly place. The views from the cottage were stunning and we couldn't fault the facilities. The hamper and freshly baked bread was a really nice touch when we arrived! It was also great to have some blankets to put on the sofa to be able to cuddle up with our dog in the evening which not many properties allow. We really enjoyed our stay at cowslip retreat. The accommodation had everything we needed, even laundry facilities. Having a small enclosed garden with beautiful views over the hills was the highlight of this retreat and the dog enjoyed this too!
The cottage was in a lovely village location with stunning views from the spacious balcony at the rear of the house. The cottage was immaculately furnished and very well equipped to make us feel right at home. Plenty of parking with the great addition of an EV charger. Lovely places to visit very close by included Whitby, Sandsend, Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick Bay & Staithes. The owner was always on hand for any queries we had. We had a fabulous stay and would love to return. Thanks for having us!
Just lovely….so cute and easy to walk into the village…the outlook was breath taking…we’d love to come back x
Perfect location, for ease of getting out and about... Perfect cottage, cosy, warm, comfortable, lavish, everything was thought of.... Perfect hosts, there if you needed them, without being intrusive, nothing to much bother.... We have stayed in many many holiday cottages throughout our years and The Piggery has to be up there with the best, certainly deserving of the 5***** awarded. Only one minor point and it would not put us off booking again - is the upstairs ensuites are very much on the small side. Would highly recommend and will be booking again.
