One of the nicest cottages we’ve ever stayed in! Beautifully designed, decorated and equipped with a huge and incredibly comfortable bed. Set in its own grounds alongside West End Farm (which we were lucky enough to get a look at and which I’m currently saving up for!) There were koi carp and sheep and a beautiful ex racehorse plus the dogs were delighted with the secure dog paddock. Highly recommend!
Just returned from a short break at West End Farm. Absolutely out of this world. Attention to detail, facilities that cater for absolutely every eventuality and surroundings that are truly breathtaking. Perfect for families with dogs, our dogs enjoyed their runs in the secure dog field. Beautiful grounds. If you are wanting high end, this will not disappoint.
Our second visit to West End Farm with our extended family. We also rented the Lodge with the extra two bedrooms. It's a great house, very spacious throughout and numerous living areas to enjoy. The house is very clean. Kitchen well equipped. The pool, jacuzzi and table tennis are also great. Good communication with the owners who are very friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a good stay - freshly baked bread, food hamper and even a little hamper for the dog. Thank you, we will be returning again!
Beautiful cottage with stunning views of the Yorkshire Moors. Very clean on arrival with really comfy beds & sofas. Couple of negatives: when we arrived there were no hot tub towels on the shelf, I eventually found them still wet in the tumble dryer! As this is sold as a luxury holiday we felt the toilet & kitchen roll were very cheap & thin and could do with being upgraded as the toilet roll runs out quick and I had to go buy extra. The blind on the large window wouldn’t move so couldn’t shut that at all & we couldn’t find a cheese grater anywhere which is a cheap item to provide. One of the ...more
There were some small matters which were resolved promptly and efficiently when we contacted Molly. Car parking arrangements are tight. It would be good if all the information about the property was in one place in the notes provided and app rather than backs of cupboard doors.
Cowslip Retreat was wonderful from start to finish. The booking process, organisation and communication ahead of our stay were excellent, making everything feel easy and stress-free. The retreat itself is small but beautifully presented, with so many lovely and thoughtful touches that really made a difference. We were welcomed with a gorgeous human and doggie hamper, as well as basic provisions such as butter and milk. There was also lots of useful information about local walks and places to visit, along with DVDs and games to enjoy during our stay. But the best part was simply sitting o...more
A very comfortable, warm and well equipped property. Good location for exploring this area of N Yorks.
Stunning views Very comfortable A great base for exploring the North Yorks Countryside Surprised to see only 1 charging point being shared by 4 properties, think this should be made clear when booking.
We have stayed in The Piggery at least 6 times (I’ve lost count) and we love he cottage, stunning views and location which is ideal for visiting lovely places and walks. The fact that it is dog friendly with an enclosed secure garden is an added bonus. Molly and Lewis always provide a great welcome personally and a much appreciated hamper of goodies and treats. I would certainly recommend this cottage and area as a holiday destination.
