Three well equipped properties within a traditional stone u-shaped steading conversion. The cottages are set on a small semi-retired farm in the Scottish Highlands with views of the Black Isle. Each cottage has a small south facing patio to enjoy during warm, sunny weather and wood burning stoves to keep you warm and cosy when it is cooler. The properties sleep 2 to 6 and are suitable for couples and families. Dogs are welcome.
Situated 10 miles east of Inverness they are an excellent base to tour the Highlands and Moray areas, take a cruise down Loch Ness and enjoy the scenery whilst Nessie spotting, discover history at Culloden Battlefield, Fort George and Cawdor Castle, view the Moray Firth dolphins from Chanonry Point, taste world-famous whisky at the Speyside distilleries and have a day of adventure at the Cairngorms Mountains.
What can I say about The Barn and Barbara....nothing that will do either of them justice.
The Barn itself is in a wonderful location in the town of Croy, sat between the large city of Inverness where you can find the usual big stores, and the picturesque town of Nairn, where beautiful beaches along with spectacular views and wildlife await. Across the A96 you will find Ardersier, and the impressive Fort George: a military base which is part of Historic Scotland which allows visitors inside its walls for a good mooch around.
In the morning you have lovely views of the surrounding farmla...more
The Byre is very well appointed and a joy to stay in. Comfortable, clean and beautifully kept. Barbara and her family are so welcoming and helpful.
What a view from the living room window too. We are returning guests and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.
Lots of things to do and see around and about.
Not your traditional Scottish Bothy- this one has every luxury including a thoughtful and delicious welcome-box. The family hosts live next door and were friendly and helpful but never intrusive. The cottage is a minute off the A96 so very conveniently situated. I would certainly return if ever in the area again.
