Comfortable, nicely decorated and well equipped. Great location! We thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay and would definitely stay there again.
This house was perfect for a family get together after so long. Location, facilities all amazing. Cant recommend highly enough.
The incredible welcome started before we even arrived, with excellent communication from the owner before our stay and on the day of our arrival. Charles is really friendly and knowledgeable - he always made time to answer all our questions and give us superb recommendations about where to go and eat. The yurts are beautiful and comfortable. As a family of 5, there was plenty of room for us all and our bags etc. The children loved the fire pit (we had some great barbecues and toasted marshmallows at night!). Plenty of shops around (we went to Morrisons) to stock up on food and restaurants when...more
Fruitpip was a very comfortable cottage providing us with easy access to Bakewell, Chatsworth and the wonderful Lathkill Dale. It was the perfect location to base all the walks from Haddon Farm. Despite initial teething trouble in using the induction oven ( quick learning ), the kitchen was adequately equipped for the two of us. After a long walk each day, the power shower in the bathroom was just perfect. And of course there was the heated pool, again a pleasant addition to relax the tired muscles after a long walk. We loved our stay at Fruitpip and will recommend it to anybody looking for ...more
We had a wonderful time away, the yurts were well equipped and we had everything we needed. Charlie and his team were super helpful.
We had a fantastic family Christmas , lovely house with amazing views. A lovely area of the country with plenty of places to visit. Kevin was brilliant with us, really kind and helpful nothing was too much trouble for him
Our first impressions of the lodge when we arrived did not falter throughout our stay! Such spacious accommodation and so relaxing, dog friendly indeed! The men enjoyed the fishing, the ladies and the men and the two dogs enjoyed the walks! It took me a while to work out the hob but that’s just me! Lovely bathrooms, and about pristine! Just a couple of small things that I think would improve the stay would be a better recycle system, I hated not separating everything apart from glass! One or two dog poo bins and for the anglers maybe some different species of fish in the lake apart from ten...more
A beautifully maintained and delightfully decorated farmhouse. Everything in working order and all bedrooms equal in size and comfort. A big group of siblings and partners we enjoyed a wonderful holiday. Excellent location and welcome from the estate housekeeper. The welcome pack was generous and useful.
We had a wonderful time in this cosy, comfortable, clean accommodation. Andy was incredibly generous with his time and welcome pack. We had everything we needed at the Bothy and a view that was breathtaking, complete with friendly cows. It's in a really central location, so all the places of interest we wanted to visit, such as Bath, Stourhead, Avebury etc were within easy reach. Daphne the spaniel is such an asset-we loved her! Thank you Andy for your friendly welcome, which immediately made us feel at home.
A fantastic and very reasonably priced venue for a group of 22 friends and work colleagues to relax.
We just love this place, every last detail has been thought about.. though there are five lodges you are not aware of the four around you as they are all screened for privacy. Great Jon staycation
We needed a few days away for a mini honeymoon. We came across this place and it was perfect. We loved the welcome hamper of coffee, tea, jam, cereal etc... Was so peaceful and would come back anytime!
A really delightful cottage! Beautifully clean, furnished and well equipped to a high standard. A lovely enclosed garden with steps up to large lawn (thinking children/dogs!) and sun trap courtyard! Many lovely walks in the estate and much info provided for places to visit/eat. A great getaway!
House is situated in a really peaceful setting. House is Beautiful, Modern & Clean, no issues whilst there. I would suggest the hot tub is moved under shelter during the winter. Also no cork screw which was strange as there is a wine fridge.
We absolutely adore staying at this beautiful property, the Lodge is stunning, it is beautifully furnished and we always feel instantly at home. Booking communications are just excellent, I can highly recommend staying and will most definitely be booking again.
We had a lovely week in this ancient, but brilliantly renovated cottage. Clean, cosy, but spacious, with a lovely log burner. Nothing about it was poky, and although there was only one room downstairs it was modern, and open plan, and we felt that we had masses of space - a family of four, plus dogs ! Perfect, sheltered garden, wonderful views, and within 5 mins of Leominster, and Bromyard - not much further to Hereford and Ludlow, although we headed to the hills of Kington, and Offas Dyke. Good beds, linen, and a comprehensive hamper with lots of local bits and bobs. Pub doing takaway food ju...more
Very comfortable and well equipped houses. Hosts very helpful and easy to contact Dog friendly with secure garden
Lovely peaceful remote location and yet only 10 minutes from Honiton shops and The Otter pub. Ted is a great host - chatty & friendly & provided a fabulous hamper of complimentary goodies on arrival - milk, eggs, fresh bread, cake, fruit, coffee, wine to name a few. Thank you this was really lovely! The kitchen is very well equipped and had everything we needed and more! We (3 generations of family aged 17 to 89) all loved it here and will definitely return. The only improvement I can think of is that given we visited in the summer, and therefore had the windows open, next time I’l...more
this is the second time we have stayed at the oaks and once again it did not disappoint , the children loved the games room and the tree swings, the adults loved the house , garden and surrounding views so peaceful ,nobody wanted to leave.
Thank you Kevin for a wonderful stay. As ever, you are so accommodating and friendly. We loved the cosiness, the wonderful views across the lake in autumn/winter, and the tranquillity. We even spotted a kingfisher! We loved Cirencester, and a circular South Cerney walk in the sun. This is our favourite hideaway by far.
Myself and 7 friends have stayed at this fantastic property twice now and each time has been absolutely perfect! Both the house and location are simply stunning and with lots to do within the local area you won’t be disappointed. The owners of the house are very friendly and accomodating and will do everything they can to meet any extra requests, always replying promptly to emails or telephone calls. In short I cannot recommend The Landings enough!
Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Absolutely beautiful with everything you could need. Local pub and a lovely garden. Would absolutely return
Wonderful well maintained and equipped accommodation with eggs and bread on arrival. Excellent outside eating area and owner met us on arrival ensuring all in order.
This was the most amazing house for our hen party! Charles was very helpful and responsive! Couldn’t have asked for better service or property
We stayed at Rosevean for 4 nights, it is perfectly located close to pubs and restaurants in the middle of St. Agnes and a great base for jumping off to the beaches around the area. We found the property more than big enough for 7 of us. Lovely big living spaces, garden and bathrooms aplenty. A nice sized kitchen for cooking and lovely patio with BBQ for summer evenings!
The cottage was amazingly spacious, particularly the bathroom and well equipped for our needs- though a few more teaspoons would be useful! We slept well in the peace and quiet of the countryside but were only a few minutes drive from Bakewell and with a host of attractions close to hand. On the very rainy day we appreciated the pool which was warm and inviting and which we had to ourselves. It was helpful to have a list of what the cottage would provide and they were generous with the dishwasher tablets. The heating was efficient and we felt very comfortable.
Well appointed property that was clean & tidy with plenty of small features, such as utensils, cutlery, soap and towels. Nice & quiet location yet convenient for travelling to many tourist sights and the local town and shops. If there was anything to mention that required attention, it would be that a couple of items of equipment and decor required fixing, such as the loose toilet button flush downstairs & one of the electrical sockets being unserviceable in the kitchen. Otherwise, we would be happy to visit again & would recommend it to others.
Accommodation really good. Well stocked with kitchen equipment. Rooms great size. Bed's really comfy. Lounge area lovely. Huge TV. Nice dining area. Outside dining also. Great safe area for dogs. Owner very friendly. Welcome hamper great produce and lovely eggs from the chickens. Barbecue and charcoal a bonus.
Spacious, clean and well provided. great to have the pool and ping pong with the dreadful weather that we had. Would like to go back and be able to cycle and walk more. The young children with us- in the Farmhouse did limit what we could do given the hail, lightning, wind and rain!!! Great fossils to be found in the local dale.
We really had a lovely stay at the cottage. The location is really great! We missed a diswasher in the kitchen.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at St. Corantyn Cottage, Spring Water Barns, on the Bonython Estate. It provided us with a charming, comfortable & civilised base from which to explore S. Cornwall.
We had a fabulous stay at this beautiful location, much helped by the weather. The Lodge was clean, easy to find and in a great location - close to all the Lakes with an excellent Lakeside Bar a few doors away. Food here was amazing as was the atmosphere. We enjoyed sitting on the decking and watching the water sports activity along with using the spot to explore and of course get on the water. The lodge whilst spotlessly clean is one of the older looking properties. Many neighbouring properties appeared to have been refurbished, whilst on the decking here some wood clearly needed replacin...more
The house is superb and it feels so spotless and clean on arrival. Its in a lovely quiet location. Its so very welcoming and certainly lives up to its write up. Scones and bubbly on arrival The living room is so spacious and the kitchen area is great for cooking and eating. It has all the amenities that you would expect from this type of rental. Good size fridge which I find so disappointing in so many homes. The bedrooms are all of a very good size and bathrooms are so clean and modern. The master suite is stunning. Beds are very comfy and towels so fluffy. I would thoroughly recomme...more
We stayed 8 nights on our five week roadtrip of northern England & Scotland. Elk Cottage was our base for the Lakes District & to attend 3 shows within a two hour drive. It worked perfectly for us. We've visited the U.K. many times since 1979 & this property was certainly one of the nicest houses we've been lucky enough to find. If anyone looking to stay here has any mobility problem, then note that there are steps between every room - one to four, plus eleven steps up to the master bedroom & 13 to the Eden suite. We left our two heavy suitcases downstairs in the formal dining room as I co...more
Lovely house, clean, comfortable, well equipped, and ideal location within the area and within the lake. Would Def stay again.
Thank you for a lovely stay. Everything was perfect! Particularly enjoyed the beautiful gardens and grounds.
The cottage was well equipped, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Perfect location for anyone visiting the Bakewell area. Off street parking for one car. Only problem we had was dog hairs on the downstairs carpet, other than that the cottage was spotless! Would definitely stay there again. We rented this cottage and the adjoining Artists Loft which was perfect for our family of eight.
Lovely group of cottages in beautiful countryside. Well kitted out, clean and warm. We really enjoyed the swimming pool which is a lovely temperature, along with the table tennis and small pool table. We would love to stay again, maybe with a large family group. Dog friendly too
Great location. Very pleasant hosts and very well priced. Nice little extra comforts and great tourist and history info. Thoroughly Most enjoyable stay.
We all had the most amazing weekend celebrating my sisters Hen Do at Kingsley Lake View! The location of the house along with the views were absolutely beautiful. The house had everything we needed and there was plenty of space of all of us. We were so grateful for the great communication from the property owner and would definitely recommend this house. We'll definitely be returning! Thank you so much!
We had a lovely stay at Twitchers lodge, the location is amazing. However the accommodation is a little tired, the furniture has changed since the photos were taken and the inside needs a bit of TLC particularly the downstairs shower which needs a good bleach. There were only 3 champagne flutes, not ideal when a group of 4 is staying for a 60th celebration! Generally the crockery is a bit tired too with a few cracks and chips and some items of cutlery a bit sparse. One of the chairs on the terrace is also broken. These small things didn’t impact our stay particularly, but when marketing th...more
Lovely lodge cabin they are massive. showers and bath is great, the goody basket was lovely touch along with fridge goodies, kitchen had everything we needed. the area it’s self is so nice and cabin enclosed from other cabins my dogs absolutely loved it , the hot tub was cleaned every morning and always clean and warm. The only thing that was disappointing but we fished everyday and had no catch or no site of any fish but apart from that we loved it we were very lucky with the weather
Very comfortable stay in lovely convented barn, pictures probably don't do it justice. Some "rickety" furniture and perhaps could do with more outside furniture to enjoy the lovely garden for when it does stop raining
Couldn’t fault our stay - warm, clean, welcoming and excellent facilities. Can’t wait to head back there soon.
Another stay at this luxury property, everything you would ask for. Look forward to my future stays. Thank you
The cottages were in a great location, very quiet but within a short drive to Bakewell. I would describe the Farmhouse as rustic and unloved. The kitchen/dining room was a great size for our party of 23. We were able to join a trestle table from the kitchen to the dining table for us to sit at. The top oven did not work as well as the bottom oven and some of the shelves in the fridge door were missing (probably broken). There was a huge amount of crockery, glasses, cutlery(not teaspoons though), serving dishes and pots/pans. 2 dishwashers made cleaning up easy too. Would like to see a few homel...more
We enjoyed our stay but the lodge does need some TLC and a good clean. Door handles half hanging off in the bathroom and dusty windowsills and bedside tables. It would also benefit from a welcome booklet with information about the local area and instructions for the washing machine/dishwasher etc. Fabulous location-we loved South Cerney but we would not stay at Shelduck Lodge again unfortunately.
We enjoyed our stay at Swan Lake Lodge. There was a couple of small items missing from the kitchen that would have been useful : slotted spoon/potato peeler and corkscrew. The tumble dryer element of the washing machine doesn’t work which wasn’t ideal as we had a number of rainy days. The view is lovely and the apartment is spacious . The owner was easily and quickly contacted when we didn’t have the WiFi code. All in all it was a good choice and we very much enjoyed our week.
Booked with Farmhouse & Bramble. Great to have en-suite bathrooms, although decor a little old fashioned and rustic. Heating was either too hot or too cold. Great to have use of swimming pool & games room. Lacked some finishing touches.
Great stay, nice cottages. Swimming pool and games room made it perfect for older kids and the field was great for our dog. The cottage was very nice but needed a few updates to kitchen equipment and the area behind Buttercup Down needed tidying to match the rest of the grounds. Location great for visiting local areas.
