We visited the Ducales area as a family for the first time and were very pleased with our sea view suite and also the superb service provided. The staff in the Ducales area were always great - always accomodating individual breakfast requests, which were cooked to order, obtaining our preferred drinks, which were complimentary in the lounge area. You are in danger of eating too much, as the Ducales area provides afternoon tea and early evening canopes daily and so we were pleased with our decision not to opt for the 3 course half board option. In fact, we found the staff throughout th...more
Highly recommend this accommodation. The decor is modern and stylish with everything you could possible need for a holiday apartment. It is open plan, bright and spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable. Location of this resort is perfect in Quinta do lago and we will certainly return.
When we booked our villa we expected a low key holiday, lots of bbq’s and the odd trip to the beach!! Not realising we were about to get so much more! Our villa has been perfect for us, lots of space inside with great facilities, and it was cleaned mid week which was a lovely bonus. Our pool is a great size with a garden perfect for playing bat and ball. We have had a balance between our pool and the main resort pool which has plenty of sun beds around, a lifeguard and baby facilities. The indoor “popping bubbles” have also been a hit, even in the heat!!. The food at the resort is absolut...more
We stayed in a T2 2nd floor, we would definitely recommend this apartment for location, facilities and services provided daily.
Sunshine and superior service is a potent combination. It is certainly one that keeps pulling us back to Pine Cliffs year after year, and more than once a year if we can manage it. Having been a regular guest of Pine Cliffs for over 15 years, and having stayed in the traditional townhouses, the Residences, and the large individual villas, this was our second visit to the Ocean Suites. The Ocean Suites blend the private spaciousness of the townhouses, with the excellent room service of the hotel and then top it off with a butler! To indulge myself further, I booked two Spa treatments and ...more
Everything is excellent. Super friendly and helpful staff, beautiful and luxurious decor, delicious food and an amazing choice of restaurants. Kids club was excellent. Probably the best family holiday we have ever been on (and we have been on a lot...) - thank you Sani.
We have just had the most amazing cardio tennis trip at Puente Romano. Nothing was too much trouble, the Resort is fantastic, the rooms were spacious, modern and spotlessly clean, service was first class and everything is right on your doorstep, a fabulous choice of restaurants all serving delicious food, the beach club was awesome and the tennis center is so professional (plus right on our doorstep so no extra travelling) our bespoke cardio tennis sessions were just right, plenty of exercise but also professional coaching thrown in... Thank you Design Holidays for tailor making the whole expe...more
With a fabulous location near the sea and immaculate service throughout, the Hotel Quinta do Lago offers everything we are looking for in a holiday. Peaceful elegance, cleanliness and high quality amenities, but, above all, genuinely friendly staff in every area. We have returned many times over the last 25 years, sometimes just the two of us, sometimes with friends and family. And, if it stays the same, we have every intention of continuing to do so for many years to come.
Ikos Oceania, we had five days of pure paradise.. the most kind and friendly service, no request was too much, stunning architecture and colours and pools and beach, a variety of superb restaurants and wonderfully comfortable beds. It was fabulous!
Excellent Holiday, highly recommend both Design Holidays and Baobab suites. Nothing was a problem for both of them. Niky in Design Holidays such a great help. Staff in Baobab very helpful, Breakfast was lovely. Kids club great, Katrina was very caring. Thank you
It has been a lovely holiday. Beautiful weather, friendly staff, clean and smart restaurants, great service, stunning location. This is our fifth visit to Abama and we have enjoyed it very much.
The Conrad Hotel was absolutely amazing with exceptional service. Our room was huge and luxurious with a lovely big balcony with very comfortable furniture.
Staying at Forte Village is a dream come true. The resort is exquisite, tranquil and beautiful. It’s maintained to the highest level by the most incredible and friendly staff. Lovely seeing some old faces aswell as new. Fabulously secure for the teenagers who can have their freedom to wander or bike around the resort . The food at all mealtimes is fabulous..the most incredible beach I’ve ever seen. It’s stunning and I can’t fault it . Loved our time there as returning guests.
From the moment we were collected from the airport we knew we were in for a great experience. Mercedes transfer and a very warm welcome upon arrival at the hotel. Reception area created a fantastic first impression and every member of staff had a warm smile and greeting.NOT ONCE during our stay was this not replicated- staff are a real credit to the business. Our room was on the 2nd floor overlooking the bay and beach. Clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Whoever designed the rooms knew exactly what they were doing . From breakfast to evening meals food in every restaurant was...more
We had a fabulous week at the Ritz Carlton Abama in November. Everything was perfect and the service from all the staff was as excellent. Recommend the Villa rooms with all the benefits that go with them.
A truely wonderful place with attentive staff who anticipate your needs before you actually know what you want. I did not know what to expect having never been to this resort before but I have to say it was outstanding and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be going back before the year is out. There are many options for dining both in and out of the resort. The Tagot Villas offered us a quiet and peaceful holiday where I could read by the pool uninterrupted and enjoy. The location is superb, quiet, up high and away from the hustle and bustle towns. If you are looking for a complete chill...more
Great holiday, villa was fantastic, restaurants were great and overall was spot on. Would recommend if you have young children as the set up is well thought out and family friendly.
This holiday has been fantastic. The quality and amenities are second to none. The staff are all so helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back.
We have stayed here 7 times now and keep returning because it is a great choice whilst staying in Quinta do Lago. The 3 bedroom apartment with pool is our favourite accommodation and the interior is superb in terms of furnishings and space. Location of four seasons fairways is perfect and the facilities are great . One improvement would be more evening entertainment, especially at the weekends
Unbelievable quality and value for money. Unique among All Inclusive holidays. We cannot fault anything. It is a paradise for both couples and families. Adults areas provide that extra bit of privacy. Already planning our return visit. Would recommend to anyone.
Wow ... what can I say.... everything was outstanding. The service is superb - nothing is too much trouble. All staff are so friendly and happy they genuinely all seem to love their jobs. The whole resort is spotlessly clean. Food is fantastic, plenty of choice at different restaurants, service impeccable everywhere. Definitely worth the extra money for deluxe . The deluxe concierge are so attentive and will organise absolutely everything for you. We travelled as a family of 7 with young adult aged kids . There is something for all age groups here. We loved it
One of the absolute best stays we have ever had at La Manga, the villa is such a gem its just got everything that you need for a great holiday with older children and their partners. It gives enough space for down time and the outside area is very easy. Its maintained to a very high standard and we`d love to book this every year for quality family time . Design holidays were excellent as always. Problem with the pool heating was sorted with minimal disruption.
We arrived late at night but we're instantly cheered up as we Got upgraded to a room with a pool....very happy! It did help that it was my 50th birthday whilst we were there but even so, a nice surprise. Rooms and hotel was as described, delighted with Design holidays and the hotel.
Thank you Design Holidays for the most wonderful time at Ikos Oceania. Niky and Sue were so helpful and so knowledgeable, the information you gave us in advance made a massive difference to our stay, I did ask a lot of questions and both of you were so good at coming back to me so promptly. I like supporting a UK based company and I love the personal service, it all makes a huge difference. Ikos Oceania was everything you promised - and more! The room was stunning, huge balcony with full sea views, the service at Ikos was out of this world, the staff appear to all love their jobs (even at the...more
Thank you Design Holidays - a perfect recommendation as usual! Wonderful resort close to stunning Dubrovnik. We were able to spend the day swimming and relaxing and then take the resort shuttle bus to the city to sight-see in the cooler late afternoon and evening. Anyone who watches Game of Thrones will recognise the old city cobbled streets and the water taxi is a must. The Sun Gardens resort has fabulous pools including one for 'adults only' which we really appreciated although the family pools did have water slides and other facilities. The food and service has been impeccable and afte...more
Accommodation is fantastic but so is the resort. Great pool which is busy but not over crowded. Poolside restaurant serves nice food that isn’t over priced. Resort has so much to do: football class for kids, gym classes, tennis, play park etc and that’s before you explore the wider Quinta do Lago resort/area for golf and more. Highly recommend.
Great hotel, very very nice sea view room Very close to sea with fantastic terrace and decent sized room, cleaned spotlessly everyday. Buffet for breakfast and dinner was fantastic with great choice and lovely outdoor seating. Pool areas very nice to lounge around and bar service great. Would definitely visit again.
This is a really luxurious resort for families. It caters for all ages from babies to teens. We recently went with our 14 yo daughter and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. The suites are first class, beautifully clean. The food is sumptuous, with 23 restaurants to choose from. The beach and marina are 5 mins walk. There are plenty of heated outdoor pools and a couple of indoor pools. There are clubs and activities for children of all ages.Obviously have your spa and gym and fitness classes that need to be pre- booked. The staff were welcoming, friendly and pleased to help you at a...more
Good, if slightly dated, room. Excellent breakfast and dinners, both in the hotel and elsewhere on site. Generally very good facilities: tennis, putting, crazy golf. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Big improvement required in quality of wifi.
This is a fantastic place to stay - an earthly paradise set in tropical gardens with every possible amenity and activity under the sun. Every sport imaginable is available - tennis courts, football and volleyball courts, more than 3 outdoor swimming pools, you can learn to scuba dive ... or hire bikes and do trips around the coast hire a small dinghy and explore the surrounding coves and beaches. You can go canoeing or just flop on the beach and enjoy the crystalline waters and white sand beach. The hotel is right on the beach. The spa is just to die for! The resort is very family friendly wit...more
Lovely hotel, perhaps a little old fashioned for us. Concierge staff were amazing, as were they all. Buffet food was great, with lots of choice for everyone. We only managed to eat in one other restaurant though as we couldn't get a booking before 8:30pm - a bit late for us never mind the kids! Location was great, less than 20 mins from the airport. Hotel itself is built into the side of the hill though so lots of steps everyday. There were slopes too but it was a bit of a maze so rarely managed to get from one place to the next without stairs! Very mixed clientele which was nice but did f...more
Excellent hotel, great facilities , weather and breakfast. Customer service good . Amazing breakfast. Looking forward to our next stay at La Manga. Thank you. Anna
Everything about the Pine Cliffs Hotel was great, the hotel room, the breakfast, the service and also all the amenities available.
This is our 11th trip back to Pinecliffs and it was better than ever! With the new improvements to the hotel, Ocean Suites and new pools and restaurants we were really delighted with the work they had done. The staff are all amazing here - special thanks to the reception and concierge team for fulfilling our requests every time. We had a great time and are already looking at dates to return in September.
A large and spacious group of hotels with several different properties within the Sani Resort. Rooms are to a high standard and the service is excellent. The property is centred around a marina which has a wide choice of restaurants under the umbrella of 'dine around'. The Sani Beach is large with several restaurants within the building. We went at half term with another family and it's obviously very popular for those with children. If you have kids it works very well as there are menus suitable for them in every restaurant. Couples should avoid the busy school holidays as it is very focused ...more
It is a great holiday location for any adults with kids. The whole resort is kiddy friendly. All the restaurants gave special areas for the kids to play while you eat. There is endless toys for children so don't need to bring own along with cots, steps, party's, highchairs, plates etc. The villa was equipped with everything you need for every generation and even stair gates. There was a kids club which we did not even have time to use. The beach was lovely and clean. The shop had everything you needed for the kids and loads of pouches hut pretty expensive so best to order it from boots and pic...more
I have been staying at Los Olivos 6P for many years now and I really love the apartment, which is also very close to where I am working during my stay.
Wonderful week long stay at the Ikos Dassia. The staff can't do enough to help you, and the facilities are fantastic. Only criticism would be that some of the evening restaurant food is not 5 star standard but it's still very good. Great choice of wines too. Recommend the Sunset Cruise which gives you a fabulous view of Corfu old town. We were upgraded to a much bigger room which was a massive bonus. Definitely worth dealing with all the covid paperwork and tests to get away from this dreary English summer and savour the Greek heat and hospitality!
Forte Village is small boy heaven. Football with football stars, professional tennis coaches and champion go cart drivers. The service is impeccable and the resort is manicured luxury. I'm relaxed and the boy is exhausted. Perfect!
The perfect antidote to British rain and the onset of winter nights. This is our second visit to Aphrodite Hills, this half term week is always gorgeous. Lovely sunshine, but not too hot for children, so lots of time spent in our magnificent pool and garden. The house was fully stocked with everything one would need kitchen and equipment wise. Only bugbear was the satellite TV, signal. Very patchy as I don't think this villa has a satellite dish, just an aerial. The location was superb, quiet, yet only a few minutes drive from the main centre, supermarket, spa etc. All in all we lov...more
We had a lovely stay at The Bahia del Duque, quite an exceptional hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff all dressed in local costume. Six restaurants all different nationalities to choose from if staying in the hotel. Four pools in the form of very large rock pools, a couple heated and couple filled with sea water. The hotel was very attractively set out although a little confusing until we had been there a day or two.
It is really difficult to find any fault with Sani at all! The staff are so friendly and helpful. The restaurants are all excellent. The location is gorgeous. The sea is like a giant pool for the children as it has an extremely large shallow area (where you can see lots of fish). Great pools. Rooms spacious, attractively decorated and very clean. Water activities and drinks are expensive (€4 for a coke, €70 for a 15 min inflatables ride for a family) but it's as you'd expect really in a hotel of this standard. The kids club has lovely attentive staff and a variety of activities although hasn't...more
Fantastic hotel with excellent facilities would definitely stay again. Only slightly negative comment would be that the check in is not as slick as it could be. We waited so long for a porter to take us to our room that eventually the receptionist took us but didn't show us how any of the gadgets worked in the kitchen etc. We were told that a porter would be up shortly who never arrived. The following day we had to ask twice for someone to come up to explain things.
This is our third visit to this region and our best experience yet. The facilities and the location of the Garden suite was superb, close to the beach, the gym and main restaurants but also with a private feel. The rooms were well designed and well equipped. The set up with the two bedroom suite and adjacent third bedroom worked perfectly for our three generations. I would thoroughly recommend both the resort and the garden suites John and Nicola
The Roca Nivaria provides five star quality in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Because you can opt in for the all inclusive board it means that about 50% of the guests are on B&B - so no wristbands or sub-standard drinks! You simply sign your room number - but don't have to pay!! And a proper wine list with lunch/dinner with a lovely house bottle of rioja (white or red) or a rose all included. The food was faultless. Although mainly buffet style the quality and choice was fabulous with different themed nights. And the tables on the terrace had stunning views so you didn't feel cramped....more
We were not given the deluxe bungalows we paid for we were instead given rooms in another of the hotels. We are not sure why but the rooms were nice and we had a great time. I booked the various restaurants beforehand and that was a good idea even in the low season. The restaurants are all very good and the service is fantastic. There was an issue one evening but this was quickly resolved. The staff are very helpful. The cycling was great we went with the staff on a ride outside the complex and it was fabulous. The go karting was also very well organised and fun
We had a great time - 2 related families staying in close- by villas. Very well chosen and very suited to our requirements. 15 people in total. The weather was kind and even when it was raining we found lots to do. Our only complaint would be that the light sensors in the toilets were not timed long enough and in range, for our youngsters to be happy making use of the facilities independently.
With a 3 and a 2 year old I was always told holidays are just the same as being at home but somewhere else, I can honestly say that's not true. We had such a great time, the food was delicious, the pools were so varied and clean, the play areas were creative, the staff were natural and so friendly. Everything was near to hand and made easy, it really was our best holiday. There was time to relax and to enjoy a family holiday. The kids club was fine but we only used it once, to go dolphin watching, as we didn't feel the need, it was fine to just hang out. Great cocktails too!
The staff were absolutely fantastic and extremely efficient and helpful to getting you booked into activities or attending to any needs we had. Whilst the hotel exterior is very 1980s, the interior is lovely. Really recommend walking round the corner to Boussoualis Beach where the beach and sea is beautiful and not overlooked by the hotel. The choice of restaurants and quality of food was excellent.
This was our second visit and I'm going to book again for next year so that shows how much we like it! Just some of the reasons: Location: well situated for visiting places like Ostuni or Alborello. Stylish and cool (both in design terms and temperature!) hotel So much space and choice: you can go to the fabulous beach club or stay by one of the pools or find a quiet private place to sit. No-where ever feels crowded. The food: great choice of restaurants and all the food (and local wine) are delicious. The bbq evenings in the square are very atmospheric and there was even a vegetable...more
This was our 3rd visit to Monte Santo since we first came here in 2013. Back then it was a bit of a hidden gem but has become more popular and from the people we have met a lot seem to be (like us) returning guests. I think that says a lot... What makes it perfect for us are the townhouses and the accompanying small pools. Sitting out on the patio or balcony you can watch the kids but remain relaxed in sun or shade and the kids can come and go as they please without all the messing getting bags and stuff for a trip to the main pool. The location is great, 10 minutes to Slide and Splash,...more
La manga delivers the best family holiday for us. There is high standard golf with excellent practice facilities and 3 very good courses. There is one of the best football academy in Europe for my son and the pool, spa and guaranteed sun for my wife. Everybody is a winner! Doesn't come cheap, but I still believe it is a very good value for the money spent.
The Monte Santo resort & spa is a great base for a family holiday the accommodation is first class but the resort itself lacks facilities and atmosphere
Great holiday at Marthinhal Quinta, excellent service from the moment we checked in - we had a couple of very minor maintenance issues which were dealt with immediately and staff could not have been more helpful. Villa, pool, gardens were all clean and well maintained. Communal pool area with variety of things to do for the children was excellent and well looked after. Only slight complaint is that the pool side "m" bar restaurant service could have been slightly better it seemed a bit disorganised which was a shame but did not ruin our holiday! great place and would def recommend . thank ...more
Fantastic resort for all the family in stunning cliff top location. The terraces are lovely, modern style in quieter part of resort with own quiet pool area. Staff friendly & service superb nothing is too much trouble for them. Wide variety of activities to suit all ages. Restaurants variety is good. Although resort was full there was never a problem with finding sunbeds, or tables at restaurants. It is an expensive holiday but definitely worth every penny for a relaxing enjoyable week for the whole family .
The house is decorated in an understated but luxurious way. Any needs were quickly addressed. Great selection of pools/beach options. Great food. Pricey, but ultimately quite worth it for something that gave both kids and grandparents a happy week. Also meant we could be here with other extended family without being in each other's pockets.
Only comment is that we missed a private pool, otherwise extremely happy indeed. Service was excellent and when we had a problem with air conditioning, it was fixed the same day. Thank you!
Great for kids and set up to make it as easy as possible for parents. Is great that there are play areas in the restaurants and outside them so you can have a more leisurely meal while the children play. Shop and restaurants are very expensive but appreciate it is paying for convenience
We have loved our stay st Martinhall. On arrival - immediately impressed with reception staff and how accommodating and friendly they were . Villa fabulous and daily maid / pool clean service makes a huge difference to holiday - all service staff extremely professional and efficient . Restaurant and club great - very nice set up , very clean , good good and great service there too. We visit Pine Cliffs every year in the Summer in a similar time window - late June/early July. It's a large resort with lots of space so despite the volume of accommodation they offer, you rarely feel "hemmed in". Lots for the adults & kids to do including tennis, football, crazy golf, golf and plenty swimming pools to choose from. There's a kids club too for the younger ones but ours is 8 now and we just don't feel the need to use it as there are plenty other families we've met at the resort that visit at the same time every year and the kids just get on with it. Staff are fantastic - ver...more
Sani Beach club provide an excellent friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic food, lovely staff and a great location. We hope to come back another year.
The suite had been well thought through with facilities for a family with young children, especially having a pool that was high enough for parents not to be continually worried by having a toddler around. The balance of sand, pool and terrace area was a perfect outdoor space.
Great place for a half term break. Apartments are huge and well fitted out. Grounds are nice. Pool is great with indoor option if chilly. Walking in to town is an easy downhill stroll and a 5 Euro taxi back. A car is needed to explore all the local beaches which were stunning.
With three young children it is always a big decision when choosing a hotel. The facilities were absolutely fantastic and we made great use of the kids club, park area and beach with toys to play with in sand and supplies by hotel. The boys loved the train running every half he down to the beach. Bedrooms extremely comfortable and spacious. We thought initially we would have needed a two bed suite with a large young family however as we booked late there were none available. We stayed in a 1 bed suite and it was perfectly spacious with two beds and a cot set up and a large private bedroom....more
We were amazed at the quality of service and the friendliness and politeness of the staff throughout the hotel. Visitors should be aware that there are a few steps to negotiate but that seems to be the case the most hotels in this area due to their location on steep hill sides. We were there during a relatively quiet period at the end of June but it is obvious that during the height of the holiday season space is tight and the beach too small. We would not recommend the hotel for families with small children. The half board food was reasonable and breakfast particularly good. However, the choi...more
Great customer service and lovely well equipped villa . We all enjoyed a relaxing holiday and would recommend. We had no children with us but the only drawback would be very steep marble stairs
The picture showing is not the room We stayed... we were all together in the same room...which I thought we could have some privacy when the kids go to sleep... also They should advise the families to book all the restaurants away in advance otherwise you might end up in the buffet every night... overall we had a great time and the kids had so much fun.
Great stay - great facilities & accommodation standard - lovely golf course - great condition of greens - food a little hit and miss - for example Piri Piri exceptional but Mare very poor. All F&B is too expensive. Very good customer service.
A really lovely hotel, stunning to look at with great staff. Food a little patchy in places but generally very good. Pools are great (inside/outside one is a bit of a letdown compared to the others though), as is the beach. Our boys adored the kids club, just didn't want to leave. Lovely, engaged staff there. It is expensive but it is a step up from most hotels. Our room was spacious and clean, separate bedroom for the boys which they liked. Would visit again for sure.
We enjoyed our holiday at La Manga. The staff were extremely helpful with high levels of service. The rooms were spacious and clean although could do with updating. The hotel itself has good facilities but needs redecorating. Location is excellent and there’s lots to do, see and explore in the area. Food in hotel is average however, overall it offers great value for money and we would return.
This is our third time here and it is just great - just something for everyone here - family perfect - pools are amazing and so many of them so it never feels too busy Such a great choice of different restaurants and we hugely recommend Mare Kids sports with football tennis Padel and golf Or Minigolf in the kids club The apartments are perfect with space and great amenities and balconies Service is top Scenery just absolutely beautiful We will come back again
Second visit to same property 6 adults and 4 grand children under 8 safe and secure children loved the pool and kids club close to airport and water parks plenty of good restaurants nearby good golf if you can afford it !
Loved the resort. Super clean and spacious. Our room, a family on bed suite, garden room was brilliant. Super big, great terraces. Perfect for kids. Food fab. Personally I disliked the buffet breakfast and buffet area. Totally chaotic, too many people, to far to travel from food area to table. Shocker with toddlers! Food in all other areas incredible. The taverna great! Especially Georgia and her staff. Sooo interested in their food and giving you an amazing experience. The beach, disappointing, loungers too far from sea and my son burnt his feet on the sand. However, Barboudi on the beach fab...more
This was our second year visiting Sun Gardens. It is an absolutely fabulous resort in an incredible location and we loved every minute of our holiday. However, by way of constructive criticism, I note as follows; - The resort is, in our view, overpriced for what it is and it would put us off visiting again. - There was a dramatic disimprovement in the quality of the food offering in the on site restaurant Cilantro. - On both of my visits to the spa, I felt like the therapists were on the hard sell of their product offering, all of which was extremely pricey. This is a bugbear of mine ...more
It was not the first time we stayed at Martinhal and this villa was great. Well ecquipped and located. It was the firfst time we booked holidays with Design Holiday and it was surprisingly easy not only to research but also to book and pay. No hassle at all on arrival with everything ready in reception to receive us and take us straight to the villa with no wait and paperwork.
Beautiful facilities and first class friendly service. Lots of restaurant options. We had some excellent meals. Some food choices are quite expensive and drinks are expensive, but quality and service were both very good. We enjoyed the range of excellent swimming pools, beaches and sports facilities. Always staff on hand to provide efficient service. The resort is immaculate. Special mention to the wonderful drivers of both the airport transfer vehicles and the courtesy transfer vehicles around the resort. They were all a pleasure to speak to and could not have been more helpful. We sensed...more
Customer service absolutely excellent. Check in in room a real bonus. Poolside attention with towels and beds wonderful. Food and drink v expensive but you are getting good service. Breakfast buffet superb. Pizza really good. Rooms exquisite . Isolated location so you need a car to go anywhere and if you want to eat out. The car parking staff are wonderful and always greet you on you return with a ' welcome back'. Savelletri itself is a bit basic.
I would recommend this holiday. The quality of food and accommodation was excellent but the extras mounted up quickly and we spent a fortune on water with our meals!!! I’m so glad we were on half board.
Room not ready on arrival , very poor lunch, then room still not ready until after 15:30, so a poor start. A few other minor issues in the first couple of days before things started running smoothly. Lovely suite and pool, very helpful staff, great activities for the kids etc. Minor frustrations - wifi should be available in rooms for free (like so many other hotels around the world), room maintenance should replace used water and wine glasses (they didn't, and I had to call up on a daily basis). Ditto the mini bar not being restocked properly!
Fantastic hotel in a stunning location 30mins drive up the coast from Dubrovnik. Great facilities at the hotel for kids and adults alike, and because it sprawls over a wide area of the coastline it felt very spacious and relaxing despite being fully booked. My one gripe is that half-board represented poor value for money. It wasn't made clear when I booked that HB was only available in half of the restaurants at the hotel, so we weren't able to enjoy the full variety and choice the hotel offered, Also, the HB vouchers they gave you for each meal didn't always cover the price of the food (a...more
Great apartment, would definitely book again. Only concern we did not receive clean towels and it was not cleaned during our stay. dirty towels were rolled up and put back on the beds.
Very well presented hotel with lovely facilities and in keeping with my expectations as a Design Holiday selection. Only downside is the price of drinks and dining which I might accept in a 5 star facility in London or Paris but not Tenerife. Indeed I am reliably informed the prices in the nearby Melia are far more reasonable. I recommend Design Holidays advise customers of the benefits of a half board option as you will spend a fortune eating within the hotels good choice of restaurants
Some building works still ongoing which wasn't great. The bar staff needed to serve clients quicker and with a smile. All other staff great. The food was very good, beach is brilliant for the kids. All activities especially super skills were fantastic
Sheraton La Caleta Tenerife Superb hotel with friendly attentive staff, nice room very clean, good sea views, excellent food and service in all the restaurants, plenty to do and see nearby
We had a fantastic holiday and would stay in Aphrodite Hills again. The staff were excellent and very solicitous about our wellbeing and enjoyment. Aphrodite Hills is a beautiful resort. It is extremely well-appointed, handy for zipping off to destinations such as Paphos, Limassol and even further afield, to places such as Ayia Napa. In terms of value for money, I feel the holiday was much pricier than it should be. For example, we were quoted 160 euros for a shuttle to take us to the hotel from the airport and back - which, frankly, is spectacularly excessive considering the resort is arou...more
My second stay at the Verdura with a number of improvements, notably the service, which was previously poor. The staff, especially in the restaurants, were very friendly and helpful and especially good with children. The checking in process was much quicker than previously. The scenery here is stunning, the location peaceful and relaxing. On a downside, the free bikes that are meant to be at anyone's disposal, have systematically been hijacked by a bike locking facility. In other words, it has become a little fraught trying to find bike to use, spoiling the spontaneity of the facility. This...more
The ventilation in the bathrooms is insufficient. The taps are too close to the edge of the sink. The shower shield closes insufficient. A shoe box in front of the town houses would be useful.
I would not say this is a 5 star hotel, but it is great for small kids as every restaurant has a good play area right next door. The houses are very spacious, if a little dated. Food is good, but not out of this world. Kids options are the same across the hotel, and it would be good to add another couple of restaurants to the site given its size. All in all, very enjoyable. I think the high winds and relatively cold temps would put me off returning more than the hotel.
Fabulous holiday in lovely well equipped modern villa in a lovely setting with our own pool. Four Season Fairways is a great resort with a wonderful restaurant serving lovely breakfast, lunch and dinner. The main pool isn’t very big but is nice with plenty of comfortable sun beds and clean towels on hand. Quinta do Logo is a well kept resort all based around immaculate golf courses.
Everything is simply perfect at the Hotel Quinta do Lago. All the staff are very friendly and the rooms are delightful. The swimming pools and all facilities are impeccably maintained. There is something to do for all the family. Superb comfort.
Great for kids, although the week we stayed the kids club and restaurant were closed. Fabulous beaches nearby and crystal clear water.
Fantastic location to the tennis club, supermarket and restaurant. Apartment was in fantastic condition, clean and tidy - we booked through Design Holiday who sorted everything for us, which enabled us to enjoy the sun, sport and relax! Design Holiday, thank you!
The resort still has a way to go to provide more facilities. The kids club is limited and needs to appeal to older ages and have more space for more varied activities. There is no gym or spa. The communal pool area is great and the food was great. The staff were helpful and courteous. There was one particular lady from the kids club that came to babysit for us who was fantastic, the children really warmed to her which meant we could go out for dinner and relax while she put them to bed. The decor of our villa was excellent so felt better value for money than I expected. However, some v...more
Romanos beats all the other family resorts hands down in terms of activities which are multiple .- from rock climbing to tennis clinics to surfing and the water park is unique . Service is patchy - great at the pool but lacking at the beach . There are not enough buggies did such a massive resort but I can live with that . Highly recommended .
We visited martinhal 5 years ago with our eldest and was looking forward to returning with now our second and third children (8, 4 and 2). The villa was impressively immaculate, no real Signs of wear and tear. The kids club was great and all 3 really enjoyed a few sessions there. The resort was busy, being half term, but we always found space by the main pool. Staff all over the resort could not be friendlier and it has a smart but family friendly feel. The only aspect which was slightly disappointing was the service at times. Arriving at 1130 pm after a delayed flight, we waited 30 mins...more
Wonderful resort. Could be a bit remote for some, but if you want to get a way and completely relax with or without children this is the place. Lots for the kids to do.
Design holidays provided a smooth booking process with detailed information on what to expect in resort and the best prices we could find. Pine cliffs townhouses offer spacious, home from home, self catering accommodation with hotel services such as daily cleaning and a plethora of high quality restaurants to choose from if you don't want to cook. The town houses have their own terraces and BBQs and are set in lush green landscaping. We enjoyed the tennis courts, golf course, swimming pools and spectacular beach. We had an excellent introduction to golf from one of the resident pros. Be aw...more
A five star resort on its own beautiful private beach in Mykonos. The views from the hotel terraces are stunning. The resort is really well laid out, with the Buddha Bar restaurant serving fantastic food all day long. Can't wait to go back.
The room we were allocated was not as expected. The bed was 2 single beds pushed together and we had booked a junior suite. Asked to move was told 4days
We stayed in La Palme family deluxe bungalow for 11 nights . The bungalow itself although not large was fine for 2 adults, one toddler and one baby. It had a large terrace and private garden which made the indoor space less of an issue. I think it would probably be too small for a family of 4 with older kids- although we noted that this room type can be adjoined to a single bedroom which would be ideal for a larger family. Some accommodation is near the main square which has live music that's pretty loud most nights so might be worth asking for a quieter location if you have young kids or a...more
Excellent holiday location, great for kids very family friendly and high end. This year some of the smaller things were missed and we had to ask a few times but the house is tip top quality (couple of minor niggles a bit of tlc could fix). Not huge range of restaurants on site but enough and room service option, alongside self catering high end kitchen is perfect for us and hard to find. Room service menu is fairly limited but quite good. Overall we have come here three times and think its great but we rate it an excellent 4 star if you compare it to UK or French 5* hotels. The property is hug...more
This is the 5th time we have been to Martinhal and each time the resort gets incrementally better. The house is great, the food is tasty and heatlhy, and the beach is perfect. We shall be coming back again very soon.
The kids (ages 9, 11 and 13) absolutely loved it here and are desperate to return! Definitely one of the best we have encountered in terms of family accommodation - great to have 2 bathrooms in the family suites! The facilities are amazing for kids and we hardly saw them. Some are well priced, others very expensive. Soft drinks are also dreadfully overpriced even compared to London prices! I missed having a beach holiday - the beach is not great for the kids. No watersports and it gets very deep very quickly with quite a current. (For watersports other than kite surfing you transfer to another...more
Overall, we found our break at Pine Cliffs to be most enjoyable. This was not our first time to go there and we would hope to return again in the future. The resort has a good range of facilites, with many restaurant offerings and all the staff were very helpful at all times. In addition, the service provided by Design Holidays from the initial enquiry until the end of the holiday was excellent throughout.
Great apartment. Had everything you need 2 bed 2 bathrooms a fully fitted separate kitchen. Wasn't impressed with the check in. As we was getting married we had to check in and rush off to sort paper work out. Found the receptionist quite rude and no help with bags nor suitcases. We had bed and breakfast. Breakfast is in the Hilton. Only problem is there's stairs, a lot of stairs. No slope nor lift. We have a little one in a pushchair found this a pain. Other than that we had a lovely wedding here and look forward to coming back.
We stayed a week at the Sheraton La Caleta in Tenerife in January. More than 10 years ago we stayed at the Abama Resort (now the Ritz Carlton) with Design Holidays, but that was out of reach now price-wise, so we had to compromise a little. The Sheraton has been nice and the staff are good, but the hotel is showing its age compared to the many newer hotels around it. For example, when we checked in we found that the air con in the room was quite noisy and might affect our sleep, so we asked for a different room. We were shown 3 others, where the air con was a bit less noisy but not that muc...more
The resort is nice with pretty rooms , good food at flavours and ouzo restaurants and staff that are child friendly and want to help . Room allocation is a shambles, invoicing systems incorrect , not enough staff in pool or beach area or for restaurant reservations - all this should be rectified as hotel matures . Very good value for money though .
I was assured by Design Holidays before we went that an ironing board and iron was provided - this was not the case and Forte Village charged 5 euros per shirt to be ironed - hence we wore our clothes creased.
We had an excellent family holiday - the beach, overall location, the quality of the activities and the excellent and friendly staff were the highlights. The children had lots of selfies with current and former sports stars. Rooms in Castello were 4 star not 5 with small bathrooms. Bedroom floors did not seem to be swept as we seemed to accumulate sand on our feet and other criticism would be 5 x markup on wine - All in all my grumbles are far outweighed by the positives but this is an expensive holiday 20000 euros for the week so not for the faint hearted.
Although the hotel is very well maintained and the staff are excellent. The downside is that this is a very large busy hotel that holds a lot of conferences meaning that it is frequently very busy and quite noisy even out of the main holiday season. I was disappointed with the restaurants which are extremely expensive and in my view the food only average for good à la cart restaurants. For two people with limited alcohol we frequently paid around €200, and then not choosing for example the expensive steaks . We hired a car and went to a number of French restaurants in town where the fo...more
A lovely hotel with many activities available for adults and children . A shame they do not have their own golf course but ones are available minutes from hotel . The room size was okay but could be bigger but you are limited as a family if 5 on options as not many rooms accommodate more than 4 unless you go for top villas at 2400 euros a night which is too expensive for most. They could also do with better quality restaurents while none were poor none were outstanding for food although service very good across the board .Hotel also very busy and would be helpful to have a few less sun beds...more
This is Hotel is in a fabulous position right next to the sea . I think they need to remove the accumulating moss from the steps into the sea as they are slippy. The infinity pool is actually very small. It looks bigger in the brochure . I do think the rooms are a bit basic and the bathrooms could do with an upgrade . One of our rooms smelt fusty , I mentioned it to the hotel a few times but I don't think there is anything they could do as the bath room didn't have any windows so that might have been what was causing the smell. I had a couple of treatments in the spa. Both were ok but ...more
We have just returned from Forte Village and overall had a wonderful 7 nights holiday there. There were 4 of us travelling (2 adults and 2 boys aged 7 and 6). I was a little apprehensive as I had read some recent reviews on Tripadvisor that had worried me, but upon arrival to our suite (we had originally booked Bouganville) but had been upgraded to La Palme which was a lovely surprise! We were located very centrally (but everything is well within walking distance). Laura at reception had booked us straight into the 3 main restaurants that are included in the half board feature. The facilities...more
Good resort that could be a lot better. Disappointing that guests in the village accomodation have only got access to one real pool and one area of the beach. When you are booking a resort with many pools you should be able to enjoy them all. The Reception area in the village accomodation is not very welcoming, however the staff throughout the resort are trying really hard. The beaches close to the resort are magnificant. I will probably not return to the resort but would recommend it to others to experience it for themselves.
Apart for some rude restaurant managers and a rude receptionist (not italian), a great stay. Food could be slightly better also. The rest is great.
Plenty to do for the kids. Food on site was not cheap. Great choice of pools. Golf professional was very helpful. Airport transfers were very good
We have been to Chia Laguna numerous times. It is a great holiday destination particularly if you have young children.
Hotel is nice, good for kids But for the Money you pay you expect more... Room is small, food is good but there is no air condition in the restaurant and it's very hot.
We mainly have only really good things to say about this apartment, we really enjoyed it. Beds were good and air conditioning worked really well. A few areas for improvement: hot water can get too hot too suddenly with a tiny move of the handle and it can burn the skin. One of the showers can spray water onto the floor and that can be dangerous with slippery floors. It would be good to have more towels or clean towels more frequently. The washing machine was a bit old / slow. Invest in a knife sharpener - some of the peeling utensils were so dull they just didn't work. An ice making machine wo...more
We spent a week at the Forte Village in mid-August with 3 children aged 18, 16 and 12. This is definitely a family holiday - there's loads to keep children entertained though kids over 18 may eventually not find it so entertaining. Boxing, rugby, go-Karting and the disco were brilliant. There's a good choice of restaurants though many were booked well in advance and sadly we were unable to get into them which was annoying to say the least. We stayed at Castello - breakfasts were wonderful, an absolute treat. The grounds are safe, well-kept and the rooms are clean, if a little tired looking -...more
Everything was fine, the apartment was a good size, well-equipped with comfortable beds. However the biggest problem for me was the internet. I had to work while away and happily booked at this apartment as it had wifi. It was shocking and only worked until about 9.15am and then it was almost impossible to get anything done for the rest of the day as I could get the odd five minutes of wifi here and there before I lost it again for hours and it was all very frustrating. A very expensive holiday if you factor in lost income and really feel that it should be mentioned on the details that alt...more
3rd stay apartments well equipped and spacious excellent location for golfers .Our apartment next to Club House so noisy at times. Few points for improvement pool needed cleaning, outside tiles very old and bottom sheets on beds too small.
Pine cliffs is a stunning resort with lots to do for the family from swimming to golf to biking or spending time by the sea . It is very busy round the pool areas and even though beds available the volume of people in the water is too much and suggest other pools or removing so many inflatables as it would be lovely to actually swim not dodge objects continuously . Service has taken a step backwards not enough staff the ones they have work hard but should be more customer service orientated you can tell those with experience and those that have had little training . Rooms though excellent a...more
We have spent a wonderful week here and the spot is beautiful with a very child friendly beach area with calm shallow waters. The food is absolutely not 5 star and the service is akin to Fawlty Towers at times with managers in suits marching round the buffet area with hands on hips visibly chastising hardworking but totally inexperienced waiters. And these suits don't engage with the guests at all, they are just frantically auditing and policing the buffet. Some waiters were friendly but inexperienced whilst some were downright rude. This place could make a fortune if they had the sense to a...more
Overall we had a great holiday. We are a family of 5 with 3 children of 7 and under. The shuttle was great taking us to and from las lomas to the tennis club where it was all happening. The restaurants we could not fault apart from them all being expensive. We was out of season, October so some of the facilities were not open. The outdoor pool was freezing so the kids and daddy were brave, mummy was not - a heated pool would be great. Saying that the indoor pool was great (did not like the charge for a swimming hat that must be worn). The tennis and football academy was VERY expensive e...more
House was perfectly positioned . Outside are was excellent . Outside table and chairs not good enough . Pool needed cleaning every day by us due to flies and debris constantly arriving by morning. House inside was dated but clean and roomy . In terms of value it is on high side but location and outside area compensated .
The townhouse was not what we expected. We had so many issues from the apartment that we had to complain to reception. Our lounge light didn't work, one of the bath tub was blocked, one of the curtains was falling off, the cooker hub gave up, one tv didnt have a remote.... The house cleaning staff was great and really friendly and did an amazing job every day. The problems got fixed the following day which was great. The room service menu was very pricey and not worth it too as it was very basic. We ordered 4 burgers, 2 spag bolognese and 3 peri chicken and our bill was €165. The playground fo...more
Positive: there is loads of stuff for adults to do. Massage/amazing spa/sport classes/gym/tennis/padel etc. service was really good thanks to Alessandro. Negatives: not baby friendly at all. None of the restaurants had toddler friendly cutlery and plates. No toys/books to occupy my 1.5 year old in public areas. So meal times were a total struggle. Quality of the food in all the buffets are same and towards the mediocre side. Aqua park had salty water throughout which made it the most hated section of the resort for my toddler and us :( The bathroom smelt of sewage all the time which ...more
The interconnecting rooms were great and the beds comfy. Only issue with accommodation was the proximity to the piazza where the evening shows never finished before 11.30 and neither the agent nor Forte Village warn you about the noise which is loud and stops you from sleeping. Very annoying. The food is also a touch on the expensive side but the real frustration is that unless you book immediately for the different restaurants on arrival you won't get in. No one warns you in advance. It would be great if the Fish Market restaurant which does lovely sea food was also open in the evening. It is...more
We came to this resort having seen the facilities online and after speaking to a sales consultant who couldn't recommend it highly enough. The individual buildings and rooms are built to a very high standard, the bedrooms are comfortable and very well equipped. All the facilities you could want are here, but as a functioning holiday destination I feel it struggles. The problem is when you put almost 1400 people on a tiny footprint of land. The accommodation/restaurant area is over developed. Much is built up over 3-4 floors. There is not enough open space. There is a fight to get a lyin...more
This was our second stay at Aphrodite Hills We enjoy the self catering facilities and space / privacy that a private villa has to offer Desigh Holidays are very helpful, knowledgable and easy to deal with Villa 383 is c3.5km from the Hotel / central area, so you would really need a hire car (we took a taxi from the airport & used the car hire firm on site - which was very convenient if not the most competitively priced) The villa itself has level access throughout the main ground floor & pool area - which was important to us. It has a decent sized pool and good outside space with plent...more
We ate and slept in the villa but were out 4 days for pre arranged dental treatment . The villa was fine but did not have a patio or area that got the sun which was disappionting as we don't get much sun in Scotland. I would ask for the top floor villa next time as it had a roof terrace The actual house was fine.
La Manga resort is great, lovely outside facilities. Unfortunately the apartement are very tired and poorly equiped. Lots of things broken including the sofa and patio door. Light bulbs not replaced, kitchen equipment broken in places and tatty . Housekeeping was regular and the staff were friendly. The indoor pool was very cold.
Despite being a returning customer and requesting (but recognising it was not guaranteed) a type C villa. We were given a type A three bed and were told we were upgraded even though we had specifically requested something else. So we got a smaller pool and a bedroom we didn’t need. They then claimed they had no notification of our request, despite the fact that it was on our booking notification form. The villa was fine, but not as good as previous. We then had a day with no water due to a burst pipe, putting several villas out of action. Not a single apology from the resort. Really disappoint...more
This is our third visit to Forte village. It’s ideal for children but wouldn’t come on holiday here as a couple. The new Aquapark would be perfect if only it wasn’t salt water. A lot of children prefer to use the Oasis pool and as a result this area gets busy and you have difficulty getting sun beds. We will come again but accept there are things you comprise on.
These apparments are tired. They may have been 4* at some point, but they certainly aren't any more. They're tired and need a upgrade, mostly in the kitchens. Ours was falling apart, we got a broken and rusty corkscrew (thanks for that health hazard!) a fridge with all the door shelves broken off, and an ancient coffee perculator machine thing that was at least 20 years old. We also got about 2 plates, a couple of cups and a wine glass. It's either self catering or it isn't... if it is, put the facilities in place. If it isn't make that clear and get rid of the dirty old crockery. We had to be...more
On our second visit we felt that service and standards had slipped ,the food was definitely less appealing and the choice reduced, the place is still great.
La Manga Club Hotel is now a little dated compared to its competition. You are paying a premium price but the premium will only be worth it if you make full use of the sports facilities, especially the golf and tennis. The restaurants remain pricey and poor value. Breakfast during the peak season is a frustrating affair - a small dining area with few tables results in queues and whilst the breakfast food itself was good this is surely an unacceptable state of affairs. The prices at the Hotel pool snack bar at lunch time are astronomical - worse still given the unfavourable Euro to GBP excha...more
Location: Good Staff: Okay, not 100% accommodating. Villa: Great, size etc. (infested with ants for our whole stay, in our beds and cots with the kids, really bad at times, the cleaners cleaned but kept coming back) We would stay again if the ant problem was sorted out.
We were very dissappointed with Monte Santo as it is not 5 star. No pool service, late maid service.
Nice resort, was very disappointed with our room, we took 2 connecting rooms rather then a family room (2up,2down), we saw our friends and realised that option would be better. Subsequently, we did have a problem with our room and the hotel changed ours and it was much better. With children 2 weeks is too long here, it's a lively resort, good staff, the most stunning beach, the best in Europe!!
We were disappointed in the service from some of the staff. I would expect much better from a hotel of this standard. The food in Café Miro was very average. My husband ordered a sirloin steak and he got a tough fillet. When we queried the cut to the maitre'd he tried to say it was a sirloin cut of a fillet - he clearly didn't know what he was talking about!
We were so disappointed. The room was certainly not 5* and the mgmnt were patronising. Our room backed on to a road and did not have a view of the garden. Be very careful with your room choose.
Terrible service, incredibly bad value for money, disappointing food, nothing to do when it rains. Not at all recommended! It might be a more exciting place in July/August.
