Everything about Gamekeepers Cottage at Rivercatcher was first-class. There genuinely wasn’t a single thing to fault. The cleanliness was impeccable, the attention to detail outstanding, and the thoughtful extras throughout made it feel like a truly special home from home. I could say so much more, but this is one of those places you really need to experience for yourself. 100% recommended — and already have done. We will definitely be back.
The house was booked as part of my 60th year celebration. It proved ideal for us all, plenty of space that included the garden for the kids to run around in. The kitchen was one of the best equiped we have ever had in a holiday rental. The fact there was plastic cutlery available for the smaller children a real bonus. I also liked the logo on the plates that gave an extra touch. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful.
We had a long weekend here. The cabin is lovely in a great location. Very peaceful. Great facilities on site including a games facility, dog wash and little summerhouse overlooking the river. They have electric car charging facilities aswell. Nice welcome basket on arrival and one of the best showers I’ve ever had. Felt like a shot blasted chassis on an old F type jag after. Nice hot tub aswell with great views.
A beautiful cottage in a peaceful setting, spotlessly clean with everything you need for a stay. Gardens well maintained and secure should you take your dog, a very dog friendly site lovely walks from cottage along the river Dee and countryside. Added benefit of hot hub and garden furniture, although this visit we didn’t use, it was checked daily. Would highly recommend and would definitely book again

What a fantastic week staying at rivercatcher it’s such a beautiful, comfortable accommodation in North Wales and it was perfect. Gorgeous views, cozy beds, and everything felt spotless and welcoming. Felt like a proper home away from home. Highly recommend if you want peace, comfort, and scenery all in one place. 5/5
We had a fabulous stay with everything we needed. Beautiful scenery and so peaceful. Hot tub was the highlight after a long day and kids loved the games room. Lots to do within an hours drive. We walked along the canal from Llangollen to the Pontcysyllte aqueduct, we hired bikes in Coed y Brenin forest and tried the forest coaster at Zip World Betws-y-Coed - all great adventures. Would love to come back.
We had been to this area before and looked for accommodation for a few days to explore further. The Rivercatcher proved to be an ideal choice. It was peaceful, quiet and very picturesque and ideal for our stay. The cabin was well equipped and comfortable. The outside area was private and the views superb. Would have no problem staying there again and recommending to others.
If you want peace & quiet to get away from it all this is place is perfect. We stayed in one of the 4 lodges with hot tub, they are compact but open plan so feel more roomy. The outside space is beautiful & fantastic for our dog with having your own private garden. The grounds are also lovely with the river Dee flowing by. Apart from walking there isnt much to do nearby & a meal out involves a drive but the peace & quiet makes up for that.
