Briefly - the cottage is perfect. Beautiful location, extremely comfortable beds, all amenities provided, interesting books, warm stove, incredible garden and views, responsive host. Already looking to book again; highly recommended.
Great location in the busy town centre at the harbour, with good views of Oban‘s promenade and the bay. Cosy, well equipped apartment on the 2nd floor; warm, helpful customer service. On the weekend temporarily exuberant musical atmosphere in the street, due to the local pub scene. Well located for participation in Oban's city life, with only a few minutes walk to the pier of the ferry terminal, the fishing boats, the small train station, the cafes, pubs, restaurants, as well as the supermarkets and shopping facilities. A good starting point for exploring the west coast, from Kintyre, over the...more
The cottage was well equipped, clean and comfortable. The location was ideal for us with easy access to all the things we wanted to do. The booking arrangements through West Coast Cottages was faultless.
2 out of 3 night stay ruined by intruder alarm activation in the night from restaurant below. We phoned police who had no key holder so on the 2nd night the alarm went on/off for over 2hrs. We phoned our emergency contact person at 23.30 who said all he could do was contact restaurant in morning!!! We phoned, emailed, direct messaged restaurant and have had no response. We spoke to a manager in person in rest the next day to were told they were trying to get alarm fixed. The word sorry wasnt expressed!! West Coast need better system in place in event of any emergency. Two nights ruined. Ou...more
Absolutely beautiful house and location. Could live there forever! Will be booking again very soon….
My friends including one doggie had a fabulous time at Tigh Grianach. The photos although good do not do it justice. It was very spacious, well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The views of Loch Etive and the surrounding Glen were breathtaking. Despite being close to the town of Oban it’s a real getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life. And lastly, our car broke down on our way to the cottage so we were without food. The cottage owner, Rhoda, was very kind and took my sister and friend into town to buy groceries. Rhoda mentioned that we could have shopping delivered t...more
We had a 2 week holiday in August at Feochan-bheag for a family of 10 (all grown ups plus 2 small dogs) The house is lovely, well stocked with almost everything required for self catering, ample parking for multiple cars, loads of sofas and very comfy beds. Its a very long, single track road driving up to the hamlet where the house is but its a very well maintained road (if you get to the cattle grid you've overshot by about 4 houses) in the photos it looks isolated but there are about 8 properties in the hamlet. Agents managing the house were also very fast to respond to queries/ issues ...more
Booking process was smooth and friendly. First impressions were fab, checked in early, instructions clear, place immaculate. Well appointed rooms and great layout. Soundproof and lovely touches, like the fire with firewood and items in the kitchen. Plenty of loo roll, great info on local area, fab location. Faultless.
The road to the cottage is an adventure in itself but when you arrive there it’s quickly forgotten. The cottage is in a perfect location but with Oban only about 20 minutes away by car. The views from the cottage are so enchanting that we spent most of our time just chilling out and watching the world go by. We were there for only 3 nights which wasn’t enough as we have fallen for the place and have booked for Christmas. We have stayed in many beautiful cottages on the west coast of Scotland and this is definitely one of the best. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
Lovely property, much more spacious than the photos indicate. The garden is huge. Lots to do in the surrounding areas. Easy to get into Oban.
Everything about the accommodation was high quality. The stairs were a challenge with luggage but they did lead to a great view . Would definitely come again.
