I can appreciate that the nature of the reviews for this accommodation may only be purely wedding-related so it may be hard to describe this accommodation by its own merit, however, I will try. As part of the beautiful estate, the North Wing overlooks the mere and land above. The property is well-looked after and is material luxury, certainly not the type of accommodation I would normally stay in or be able to afford. It is an amazing addition to the wedding package and certainly made our day feel more grand so thank you. Also, a big thank you to the Estates Team (Rachel) and Stefan for accomm...more
We had an absolutely glorious time at Combermere Abbey, staying in the north wing. The room was very comfortable, if rather warm - perhaps a fan would be a good thing in the summer, particularly in a heatwave. We had the windows open but lots of midgies due to the mere, so we had to close them! We enjoyed a wonderful swim in the the mere, and lovely walks around the beautiful gardens and woodland. We also had a great pub supper at the Combermere Arms just up the road. Stephan and Rachel looked after us so well - a terrific breakfast from Rachel! We will be back.
Extremely well equipped and comfortable cottage which easily accommodated 7 of us for a long weekend, family get together. We could want for nothing in terms of cleanliness, self-catering equipment and comfort. There are some very good, recommended local pubs / restaurants reasonably close to Combermere Abbey if you fancy a break from self-catering. The property sits in lovely grounds in the heart of the countryside, offering peaceful, relaxing walks and sight of wildlife and nature’s beauty. All communications with regard to our booking were answered quickly as were a couple of re...more
Lovely place to stay. Little nice touches such as having fire place set up to start fresh milk in fridge etc. Would highly recommend Cobermere Arms pub for dinner which is a 5 min drive.
The stairs are very steep and the hand rails tho beautiful have gaps which would be very difficult for an elderly person The lighting in the sitting area is not adequate for reading in the evening Beds very comfortable The cottage was spotless Great position Glorious walks Definitely will return
Lovely stay at the Beckett cottage. The grounds of Combermere are beautiful and the cottages have a wow factor. Have already stayed in Poole cottage and will definitely be back to stay in one of the other cottages. Thank you for a lovely stay
we both enjoyed the comfort and surroundings which fulfilled our expectations. the staff we spoke to are most helpful. we will recommend this place to our friends and hope to stay in the North Wing as a contrast to the cottages.
Combermere Abbey was an absolute delight. A beautiful cottage with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The grounds with the walled gardens and the lake were stunning. We would definitely book again.
We would definitely return to Combermere. The cottage was lovely we were very impressed. Everything you needed was provided even down to milk. We were told that we would get a continental breakfast hamper which I think must have been forgotten though. Luckily we had taken breakfast items as well so we had something to eat before the wedding.
I have stayed in many places in my life, but nothing like Wellington Cottage, it was spacious, classy, steeped in history! Beautiful cottage for my family and I.
Lovely cottage, very dog friendly with a safe enclosed garden. We really enjoyed our stay in such a peaceful area, with the local Comberemere Arms giving a friendly welcome and lovely meals to choose.
Lovely stay will definitely be coming back! Beautiful location! Lovely place to stay with the dogs!!
