Best three days we have had, peace and quiet, stunning views, beautifully kept gardens. Stephan and Blair are brilliant, nothing is to much trouble. Will definitely stay again.
It’s hard not to start and end with the setting of this place: acres of estate for exploring and ogling from every vantage point. The room we stayed in was beautiful, a lesson in the potential for renovating a Grade 1 listed building. The room felt comfortable to the highest modern standards, warm and clean overall and powerful shower. The breakfast an English classic made to order and served in the modern kitchen. We roamed round the walled gardens at will, the planting and design breathtaking - presumably developed over centuries - magnificent.
We had a lovely weekend away as three couples plus toddler meeting up for a get together. Malbanc was clean, comfortable and cosy and had all the room and facilities we needed. The only thing I’d suggest is more crockery such as soup bowls and more plates and another frying pan. Otherwise, it was a well stocked kitchen. I wish we’d had more time to explore the grounds but what we saw of them we enjoyed. Fabulous spot! And we’d also recommend the Combermere Arms - good food in a lovely pub.
A return visit with the family, love it here everything perfect as usual. Looking forward to our next stay!
Another stay in the tranquil surroundings of Combermere Cottages. A family of six adults had plenty of room around a superior cottage called Beckett. As well as the comfort of the cottage, the grounds feel like they are yours, stately walled gardens, woodland walks and rolling farmland. I would recommend Combermere Abbey with its history, the owner’s dedication to restoration and the staff’s ability to make you feel welcome. 10 out of 10 stay from my family.
We have been visiting Combermere for many years and cannot help comparing it to how it was in the early days to how it is now . Although the general standard of the cottages is good they lack the carefully designed look they used to have and the special touches like the frozen meals available to buy and homemade biscuits or cake in the cottages even the relaxing music playing when you enter the cottage .Like I say- good but not as good.
As Always a perfect Retreat in every possible way. A Twenty Two Year Customer really says it all. Many Many Thankyou's.
Yes, the setting is beautiful (no tricksy photos capturing only a few good bits). Inside, all the comfort and cleanliness and equipment you would expect from the photos, PLUS piping hot bathwater and properly sharp kitchen knives!
We really enjoyed our time on the estate. Surrounded by countryside with a short walk to a lovely lake. I'd recommend the Woodland Walk as well. We ate nearby at The Combermere Arms and I'd recommend that as well (and The Swan at Marbury). We shall return
A wonderful combination of past and present. The lodge is full of architectural features with all the modern conveniences set in a fabulous location. Would highly recommend.
Great location and cottage well equipped. The weather was cool and the heating didn’t kick in until 8.00 in the morning.needs to come on at least an hour earlier. Disappointed that the walled garden is now out of bounds though. My granddaughter was thrilled to get her first glimpse of hares .
Comfortable cottage, nicely decorated. Well equipped, warm and cosy. Lovely places to walk and explore. Our dogs loved being away in this dog friendly cottage.
