From start to finish this was a truly amazing experience. Rachel was so helpful during the booking process and Stephan was wonderful, we enjoyed chatting with Beth (I think her name was but apologies if not ) on our last morning. The North wing is beautiful, we played a game, if you could find fault with anything what would it be ... well we couldn’t as it’s simply perfect! Beautiful fabrics and wallpapers, super comfy bed, luxurious bathroom, pretty ornaments, tea tray, carrot cake, we didn’t want for anything. We arrived fairly tense due to work stresses but gradually wound down almost to...more
This is a very special place to stay, full of history, beautiful furnishings, excellent personal service and delicious food.
We have been visiting every year for the last 12 years with grandchildren of varying ages. The accommodation is spacious and the grounds safe and ideal for outdoor fun. A range of bikes are available for use however I would say that we have noticed over the last couple of visits that they do not appear to be maintained on a regular basis which limits their availability for use.
Just returned from a fantastic family weekend spent in Crossley Cottage. With 6 adults and 4 children we needed plenty of room and we certainly had that. With 5 en-suite bedrooms and two lounges it was ideal. Every room was beautifully decorated and there was ample space to seat us all around the dining table in the very well-equipped kitchen. The outdoor space for children to play and the Woodland walks were a bonus. I think this will be the ideal location for our annual family get together. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The only downside was the tennis co...more
I have stayed at Converters on several occasions and have enjoyed every visit, keep up the good work, it's a fabulous place to stay, thank you
This really is a fabulous place to stay and we were able to comfortably host a party of 18. The dining room is beautiful with an enormous table.
We hired this cottage and Malbanc next door for our large group of friends as we have done twice before and, once again everything was excellent - fantastic stay and great fun had by all - thank you and I am sure we will be back again!
We have visited Combermere numerous times and it never fails to please. It is a beautiful place to stay, with a luxurious cottage and stunning grounds. Empress cottage is very tasteful and elegant, it gives you a taste of luxury whilst not making you feel comfortable and at home. It's situation being right next to the gardens is excellent if you have dogs and you can exercise them in the woods. A stunningly lovely ,peaceful place to spend a few days, it really helps you to recharge your batteries and get away from it all for a short while.
Second visit to Combermere Abbey Cottages and just as good as the first. Well equipped cottage in a peaceful location with excellent customer service meant a very relaxing weekend break.
After a long car journey it was wonderful to relax at Stone Lodge. Beautifully appointed & so comfortable. The thought giiven to the dogs was great, the treats much appreciated also the huge area of garden. The remainder of our journey was made so much easier after this lovely stopover. Thank you.
Another lovely break in gorgeous surroundings. We will be coming back for more! We would love to visit in every season to enjoy the beautiful grounds.
We recently stayed at the Wellington property along with other family members in other cottages at Combermere. The cottages were all very well equipped , well maintained, very clean and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. The Christmas decorations were lovely! The customer service ahead of and during our stay was really great. The team are very accommodating and helpful. I would say the Wellington cottage isn’t very suitable for anyone with significant mobility issues due to distance to car park and uneven path to access the Wellington , also steep staircase and a couple of steps do...more
