Very nice place lovely, no electric at all in the kitchen, half the plug sockets didn’t work in either the living area plus bedrooms? The breakfast in the morning wasn’t the best either.
My husband and I stayed in Empress cottage the night of our wedding and we found our stay brilliant! The cottage was spacious and close to the reception meaning it was just a short walk to our stay. Our bedroom was clean and the bed aided a comfy sleep. The next morning, we awoke to a lovely spread of breakfast items and hot drinks at our dispense. We would definitely stay in Empress Cottage at Combermere again!
We had a lovely 2 night stay in the Stapleton for a wedding. The cottage was clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped but would benefit from a full length mirror in the twin downstairs bedroom in my opinion.
Beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings
Looks better than it is, not enough breakfast food or milk, facilities look like they’re falling apart and not in good condition. Don’t think it’s worth the money

The main light and one bed side light did not work. The bathroom was full of cobwebs and spiders everywhere. We felt for over £200 it was not value for money.
Other than that the beds were very comfortable. The staff were super friendly and helpful.
Stone cottage exceeded our expectation it had everything we needed and a beautiful spacious garden completely enclosed. The farm shop and café nearby was useful and the combermere arms served some tasty meals and was just a few minutes away.. all in all a wonderful few peaceful days.
The property itself was spacious and clean. It looked tired because of things like the worn carpets etc. The kitchen was well equipped, however the breakfast offering of bread, cereal and jams were minimal and didn’t feel “luxurious” compared to the venue itself and the cost of the stay.
On arrival, we were informed that the rooms would be ready from 4pm, however at 4:15, the room still hadn’t been cleaned, yet my case had been moved to the cottage. The key was left in the door with my belongings inside, so anyone could’ve had access to the building and my bags. Overall, the stay did what wa...more
