On driving through the gated entry, the gardens were impressive. I walked through the front door and was speechless at the view, through the incredible glass front on the house, which was breathtaking and calming. The house itself was incredible. Spacious, tastefully decorated and furnished to the highest quality. The beds were extrenely comfortable. It was very peaceful. Seating areas outside were great for breakfast/dinner watching the small boats and sitting in the sunshine. If I could give 10 stars I would. Graham and Liz who supported both our booking and our stay there were great....more
A fantastic stay, location is superb and the home is stunning. Has everything you could need and Liam was great throughout, answering any questions we had. The location is fantastic, we went a walk to the nearbye down of Helensburgh at the water front. The views from the house are spectacular, so breathtaking. Good communication from the owner and company we good with throughout. The house itself is superb. Has everything you could need. So many rooms and nice and clean. There was 7 of us staying and there was plenty of room for all. Kitchen and living rooms are all fully equipped. Hot ...more
This is my second visit to ‘Hollybank House’ within the last 12 months - firstly as a birthday celebration with friends, secondly with visiting family from Australia. The scenery from every room in the house is majestically stunning! Snow capped mountains, blue skies and crisp air - we were blessed with great weather on both Winter visits. The accommodation is first class: quality finishes and art works; practical equipment to cater for 10; various spacious public rooms. It would be difficult to surpass the beauty of the setting and the comfort and quality of the property. A very special m...more
Had a lovely relaxing 5 night stay for our Anniversary. Had everything we needed with a fabulous welcome pack which was a lovely touch. A few minor issues for us. Very peaceful apart from the main road noise with the bedroom being very close, we closed the window vents which made it much better. Water was brown which was strange seemingly from the hills so had to boil water to drink and not a nice look when running the bath. The blinds were nice, however didn't block out the light which in the bedroom, is a must for me when on holiday. We still had a really lovely time.
Lots of space, good facilities, marvellous terrace. A lovely place to relax. Nice welcome pack for the first breakfast.
We really did have the perfect stay in the Creinch Lodge. We had zero issues whatsoever and communication in the lead up to the stay was good. The lodge was beautiful. Great space, super clean - we were there Friday to Monday and it simply wasn’t long enough. Can’t wait to visit again.
Great location, fantastic view of loch, islands and hills beyond. Generous sized property, comfortable beds and lounge. Well equipped kitchen with inside and outside dining options. Communication and entry instructions were clear and easily followed. Cleanliness scored slightly low due to coffee frother and one pan had not been properly cleaned. Bath towels were on the small side and no shower gel shampoo provided. Overall experience was good, would definitely return, and recommend to others.
We enjoyed our stay in the Cottage. Unfortunately we arrived on a Sunday with masses of people who also enjoyed the week-end at the Loch. We were also disappointed by the village Luss as on the internet it was described as a lively little town with numerous places to go (which was not really the case). We had initial troulbles to get into the cottage and therefore contacted the lady mentioned for assistance during our stay (lodge manageress Caroline). Nobody answered the phone and we had no call back in the whole 2 days during our stay. Fortunately we finally managed to get in. Otherwise we w...more
If, strictly speaking, the term "luxury" refers only to the lodges, then unable to comment further; however, if the self-service accommodation within the castle building is also included then the term should be taken with a pinch of salt.... The castle and the surroundings, of course, exude luxury and make for a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable stay, but the apartment we stayed in did not fully live up to this: although it benefited from many comforts (and not just the basics), cleanliness and maintenance left a lot to be desired, the drive leading from the main road to the castle is full o...more
Great cottage to stay for a holiday. Services excellent. It's location fantastic. Hidden away in the middle of a forest. Access good. Recommend.
Excellent place to stay, wonderful views. Ideal base to explore Loch Lomond. And the surrounding area. Easy to find and very good customer service.
We had a wonderful time, the views along the Loch as well being so close to many walking trails was perfect. Everyone was so kind, and responsive to our questions. We hope to back again one day.
